Purify or Bust
Chapter 4: A Legend Endangered!
Before long, the trio of Trainers found themselves in front of the Pewter Museum of Science. Inside, they encountered a pair of dark angels who were busy ransacking the place. One was a teenage girl with long, magenta-colored hair and greyish-blue eyes. The other was a young man about the same age with short purplish-blue hair and jade green eyes. They both wore a white, long-sleeved top with a black undershirt, black gloves, a purple belt with white pants for him and a white knee-length skirt for her, and black boots. Their tops were also emblazoned with a red 'R' on the front. Also, the young woman wore red lipstick and green circular earrings. They were Jessie Musashi and James Kojiro of Team Rocket.
The criminal duo then noticed the group comprised of the disguised angel, the local Gym Leader, and the Latias in a human guise. "Well, look at this. A group of twerps have decided to interrupt our search. Should we teach them some manners, Jess?" "Yeah. This is what happens to kids who stick their noses where they don't belong. Go, Ekans!" "You too, Koffing!"
Ash found himself facing a purple rattlesnake-like Pokémon and a Pokémon reminiscent of a smoke bomb filled with noxious gas. "Hey! Two against one's not fair!" Misty yelled from behind Ash. "You got in the middle of our work. Meaning we can deal with you however we like." Jessie sneered back "You cowards!" "Misty, stop. I got this." Ash remarked over his shoulder.
The angel pulled a Poké Ball off his belt. "Mike, I choose you!" Mike appeared in front of the two Poison-type Pokémon, electricity crackling from his cheeks. "Ekans, use Wrap Attack!" The snake Pokémon slithered over to Mike and wrapped around the electric mouse like a boa constrictor. "Koffing, use Tackle now!" The toxic cloud floated in and smashed into Mike face first. "Mike use Thunder Shock!" Electric energy shot out from Mike's cheeks, frying Ekans and Koffing to a crisp.
The evildoers returned their fainted Pokémon to their Poké Balls. "This stinks! Not only did we not get anything about that Legendary Pokémon out of this, but we got beaten by a snot-nosed little kid!" Jessie fumed. "You! Don't you forget about this!" James growled before the two dark angels fled the scene.
Soon, Pewter City's Officer Jenny arrived and rescued the employees that Jessie and James left tied up on the second floor. She then got her statements from Ash, Misty, and Brock before returning to the Pewter City Police Department.
After the group visited the Takeshi residence and Brock told his family that he was going on a journey, the trio of do-gooders decided to head east toward Mt. Moon and Cerulean City. However, it soon got dark and the trio chose to set up camp.
"Hey, guys?" Ash queried from beside the campfire. "Yeah?" "I can't get those darkies' parting words outta my mind." he started, using the derogatory word for dark angels. "Who d'ya think they meant by 'that Legendary Pokémon?' I mean, why would they even bother looking for information on them?" "Actually, I happened to read their minds when they said all that stuff. It seems like they're actively looking for information about the Mythical Pokémon Mew, perhaps even looking for Mew herself." Misty revealed "Do we know where Mew is right now?" "Yes. One such Mew is actually Sabrina Natsume, the Saffron City Gym Leader. However, she's known for having a lot of trouble controlling her powers. As such, it would be distastrous for the dark angels to get ahold of her." "Shouldn't we try to warn her?" Ash pondered "I guess..."
Misty sighed before pulling out a cell phone and dialing Sabrina's private line. After a few minutes, Misty hung up. "No answer..." she murmured. With no other options, the three of them knew all they could do was hope that Sabrina would be safe until they arrived in Saffron City...
