Hello, I know I should be working on my other stories but I'm not, I'm working on this one. I have no idea where this story came from, it honestly started as something completely different and just evolved into this and I really kinda like it. I don't see enough Bunny pairings that aren't Jack or Tooth. I hope you guys like it as much as I do, and please let me know your thoughts, I thrive off feedback.

Enveloping, all consuming, the wind is a force that should not be trifled with. Able to carry a simple breeze or a force strong enough to tear trees from the very ground and lay waste to the world with no way to defend against it. An invisible force that can be a curse for some, but for others, it can be a blessing.
Jack laughed as the wind blew around him, forcing him into the air as he sailed over the ocean back to his home town, a smile on his face as he thought of all the fun he was going to have with his first believers. It had been three months since the events of that fateful Easter and Jack hadn't been happier in all of his afterlife, he finally had answers to all his unanswered questions, he finally knew who he is and was. Even as the wind lightened its hold around him and he landed gently on the ground he had never felt higher than he did these last couple of months. The Guardians were quick to accept him into their ranks after they defeated Pitch and he spent most of his free time going between the hide outs for the Guardians and learning as much as he possibly could about his new job. Tooth was always so energetic when he stopped by that it would take hours for her to explain one simply point, but Jack like going to visit Baby Tooth. North was always throwing books at him for him to read on protocol and procedures to ensure that Jack knew what to do in every small instance of something going wrong. Even Bunny had become more manageable, that is unless Jack freezes over the Warren- difficult habit to break- but lately Bunny had seemed out of his duties as a Guardians, the frosty teen found himself smirking at the memory of when he paid the spring spirit a visit a few days ago ago.
Jack felt the wind pull him towards the Warren unbidden, the boy never understood how the wind worked with his powers but he figured with the persistent pull that this was an instance of going with the flow, and so he reclined back and let the breeze carry him wherever it wanted. His eyes closed as he gently flew through the air, but without warning the wind disappeared and his eyes shot open as the sensation of falling overtook him. A short yelp sounded from the boy as he impacted with the hard ground of the Warren, he groaned as he sat up and looked around him trying to figure out what had happened; did the wind get spooked? Can a force of nature even get spooked? How did it disappear so quickly? Why was he in the Warren? All these questions and more swam through Jacks mind as he stood and started to make his way to where Bunny had set up his desk and would inevitably be found hunched over paying meticulous attention to an egg. The boy felt himself freeze, however, when the sound of Bunny's deep laughter reached his ears; though Bunny was a spirit meant to protect children he wasn't known for his laughter, even when he was by himself he was stoic, serious and grumpy. Jack got a devious look on his face as he crouched down and slowly crept towards the unsuspecting spirits main work area, intent of surprising the Australian with a snowball to the back of the head. As he neared he expected to see Bunny with someone, if the playful laughter was any indication, but Bunny just sat at his table shifting with laughter as a breeze blew round him. Jack looked at the scene with his head tilted to the right in confusion as Bunny began to speak.
"Can't you see I am busy?" He asked lowly as he waved the paintbrush in his hand to no one. There was a moment of silence before he spoke again, "Don't roll your eyes at me; there's only 266 Days before next Easter." He defended but was met with another silence, "Well, then pick up a brush and help Sheila." The breeze that had been ruffling his fur suddenly stopped and Jack gawked as he saw a brush float in the air and dip itself in some pink paint before an egg floated up meet the brush. "Where's the snowman?" Bunny asked after a minute of silence as he painted and Jack felt the wind circle around his crouched form that was hidden from the spring spirit in the bushes. Bunny's head whirled around in shock as Jack was lifted off the ground, "Frost!" He shouted his ease from before completely gone and replaced by apparent anger. The wind around him stopped and the boy fell to the ground at Bunny's feet, "What are you doing here?" He asked darkly, his arms crossed in anger.
"Who were you talking too?" Jack asked with a groan as he stood to be level with the other Guardian and gave him a challenging look.
Something flashed in Bunny's eyes for a second before they went cold again, "I don't mind you being a guardian kid, but if you stay here much longer you'll freeze over my Warren and I'll be set back in my schedule, so get out." he said simply, no hatred behind his words, just concern, but it didn't seem it was concern for his work.
Jack looked around behind Bunny once more to see if he could see who he was talking to, but the only things around the area were the little walking eggs, "Have you lost it and started talking to your eggs?" Jack asked with a smirk, "Because, no one would blame you if you did."
Bunny rolled his eyes and the wind blew around the two again and Bunny snorted at something as a small smile broke through his glare, "Go bother someone else Snowman." He said before turning and beginning to walk away as Jack again felt the wind lift him into the air unbidden.
Jack suddenly remembered why he had come to the warren and shouted to the other spirit, "Wait, I almost forgot!" Bunny stopped and looked back just in time for the snowball Jack threw to hit him in the face.
"Jack!" He screamed as Jack laughed and the wind carried him away.
Jack was still curious who Bunny had been talking to, but not enough to press the issue anymore, at least not if he and Bunny were alone, if Bunny lashed out Jack wanted witnesses, so he figured he would bring it up at the next meeting. Since that day though, he had been randomly showings up at the warren to see if he could spot anyone, but even when Bunny would be talking to them there was no one there. Maybe the spirit had lost it and was just talking to his eggs. Either way, Jack wanted answers, especially if they would explain why the spring spirit was out of his duties so much lately. Though Jack didn't want to seem like he cared about the annoying Australian he was worried for his companion. What if it was something important that was troubling him? What if it was Pitch? Or someone even worse?
As Jack walked through the forest on the edge of Burgess his worries of his fellow guardian disappeared as he heard the sounds of children's laughter float through the threes and he felt his feet carry him faster to the pond where he could join in his believers' merrymaking. When he arrived at the edge of the clearing for the pond he smiled, seeing the children play always filled him with joy, and not that he was able to join the fun and have them see him it was amazing.
"Look! It's Jack!" Jamie shouted joyfully as Jack emerged from the trees and the rest of the children all ran to join him by his side, everyone unaware of the other spirit watching the scene. Jack laughed as the kids pulled him into their game, another snowball fight. Jack was happy to see that the kids weren't disappointed that winter was coming in the middle of the summer. Jack quickly dodged a snowball thrown by cupcake and flew up in the air as he circled around the kids, all of them looking at him in wonder. "Jack, how do you fly?" Jamie asked suddenly and the others joined in with chants of "yea, how do you do it?"
"The wind carries me." Jack responded easily.
"How does it know where to take you?" Pippa asked and suddenly all the children gathered around at Jacks feet as he slowly touched down on the ground.
"I'm not exactly sure, it just responds to my powers." Jack tried explaining while scratching the back of his neck.
"So the wind is a spirit like you, right?" Jamie asked excitedly.
Jack stopped for a second trying to figure out to explain to the kids properly as the wind danced around them, "Jamie, some forces of Nature, well they're just forces of nature, Spirits like me, we're the acceptation to the rule." Jack responded carefully, "The wind is just a mindless force of nature is all." He finished with a shrug, "Now, I believe we were in the middle of a battle." He said as he raised a snow ball and threw it into the crowd of children, once again starting the laughter and enjoyment. Jack relaxed with not being pelted with questions he doesn't actually know the answer too and began making more ammo for the kids, his mind easing enough that he didn't even worry about how the air around the forest had gone deathly still.
Bunny sat at his desk staring at the paintbrushes in front of him as he thought back onto a couple days ago when Jack had rudely interrupted him, he had grown over the last couple of months to actually like the kid- annoying as he may be- but he still didn't like when Jack came and messed with the Warren. He stared at the partially painted pink egg and snorted a short laugh at the memory of Jacks interruption.
Bunny sat at his desk and stared intently at the egg in his hands as he painted an intricate gold pattern on its shell, his ears twitching at every small change in sound around him. His smooth strokes of the paintbrush halted as he felt a breeze blow by him and heard a short yelp sound in the distance, but Bunny found himself uninterested in the yelper when he looked up and saw a smiling girl sitting across from him with a curious expression, the breeze blowing her short curly light brown locks around her face gently. "Hey Sheila," He greeted before holding up the egg, "What do you think?" The girl looked at the egg for a moment, her pale lavender eyes glinting in the morning light of the Warren, it was a moment before another breeze started and she disappeared from in front of him. Bunny smiled as he felt the weight of someone's arms on his shoulders and he held the egg over his right shoulder for the girl to examine closer. Her small hands took the egg from his larger furred one and he felt her shake with a small laugh as the egg's legs popped out and it began wiggling them to run away, the girls other arm reached up and she tickled the little eggs foot. Bunny let out a short laugh as he shook his head and took the egg back from the girl so he could continue painting it, ignoring the girls little pout as he picked his paint brush back up.
Another breeze picked up and as it ruffled Bunny's fur he bit his lip to stop from laughing and messing up his careful lines, out of the corner of his eye he saw the girl smirk and Bunny felt his stomach drop as she disappeared with another blow of the cool wind around him. "Don't do it Sheila." he said softly as the wind picked up and began to tickle against his skin, "You're worse than Frost." He said and the girl appeared in front of him with an offended look on her face again and this time Bunny allowed himself to laugh loudly at the girls antics. She smiled as she disappeared again and the breeze continued to blow around him, eliciting more laughter from the spring spirit, "Can't you see I'm Busy?" He asked playfully, ignoring the twitch his ears gave to the crack of a stick behind him. The wind stopped circling around him at his words and the girl was in front of him again, her eyebrows rose in challenge and Bunny returned it with a smirk of his own. The breeze blowing around her skirt and the sash draped around her arm, the bright purple catching Bunny's eye, a stark contrast to her pale skin. She laughed, drawing the others attention to her face again and she rolled her eyes and shook her head with a knowing smile, "Don't roll your eyes at me, there's only 266 days before next Easter." Bunny defended and the girl mocked a yawn before motioning with her hands like she was painting an egg, as if to say it wasn't hard before she disappeared and once again a gently wind began blowing around him. "Well, then pick up a brush and help Sheila." Once he issued the challenge the breeze stopped and the girl was across the table again and reaching for one of the many brushes in Front of Bunny causing him to smile warmly at her excitement. Happily the girl reached for an egg and began painting it bright pink, making Bunny laugh slightly at the color choice.
They sat in silence Bunny watching her painting for a moment before he spoke again, "Where's the snowman?" The girl smirked slightly and without looking up from her egg the wind blew around the two leading to where Jack was hiding and wrapped around his form, raising it to where Bunny could see him. Bunny Jerked to look behind him and felt anger rise in him at the sight of the winter spirit, "Frost!" he shouted his brush snapping under the force of his grip and he stood to stalk towards the boy, the wind dropping him roughly on the ground at the angry spirits feet. "What are you doing here?" He asked darkly, crossing his arms in a disappointed manner.
Jack shook his head from the fall and looked up at his fellow Guardian with a challenging look, "Who were you talking to?" Jack shot back as he stood to level a glare at the other spirit.
Bunny's eyes flashed with sadness as he remembered the existence the girl lived but he quickly replaced the sadness with his normal cold stare again, "I don't mind you being a guardian kid, but if you stay here much longer you'll freeze over my Warren and I'll be set back on my schedule, so get out." he said simply, hoping that no hatred seeped through, truth be told he didn't hate the younger spirit anymore, he was annoyed at the interruption and ignorance of the other was all.
Bunny saw Jack glance intently behind him to the work bench, his eyes searching for something before the teen spoke again, "Have you lost it and started talking to your eggs?" Jack asked with a smirk, "Because, no one would blame you if you did."
Bunny's fists clenched to avoid lashing out at Jack for the jab but he chose to instead roll his eyes at the comment and as the breeze blew past them once again he saw the girl standing behind Jack with crossed eyes and wiggling her finger next to her head as if she was crazy. Bunny snorted at her antics before looking back to the confused Jack, "Go bother someone else snowman." He said with a wave of his hand as he turned to walk away from the teen, the girl appearing at his side as he felt the wind rush past them towards the winter spirit and he smirked at the knowledge that the annoying spirit of fun was soon to be out of his hair.
"Wait, I almost forgot!" Bunny heard Jack shout and he turned to eye the teen again, however when he turned he felt the freezing snowball smash into his face and the anger raised in him as the frost spirit laughed.
"Jack!" He shouted, ready to go after the younger spirit but the girl at his side shook with laughter before she flicked her hand and Jack went soaring away from the Warren. Bunny turned back to the girl, still fuming, "Why did you bring him here?" He accused and the girl looked at him with hurt and raised her hand to cover over her heart. "Oh don't even, you brought him on purpose." Bunny said with a roll of his eyes. The girl stood in front of him with her hand on her hip as the wind picked up around them, an annoyed look on her face at the statement. "What?" Bunny asked stepping close enough to her that she had to strain her neck back to keep eye contact, "Am I wrong?" He asked lowly, his eyes dropping to the motion of her biting her lip. "Aella." He said softly before meeting the girl's eyes again.
Bunny shook his head trying to make the thoughts of the previous days leave his mind, the flirty spirit always made his mind wander after her visits, and despite the fact that he had known the spirit almost as long as he had been the Easter bunny he felt he would never get over the butterflies the girl left in his stomach. However the stubborn Aussie would fight tooth and nail that he did not have feelings for his friend, she was a forgotten spirit and he was just overprotective of the girl is all. Besides, he was the only spirit that could see the girl anymore, and Bunny refused to let her become a fully forgotten spirit and fade into nonexistence.
That was the sad fact of spirits, where the whole world used to believe in every one of them in some form, from fae to gods, now even some spirits forgot each other, and when a spirit is forgot by the living and the nonliving world they fade away into nothing, only their powers remain. And Bunny was going to do all he could to make sure that Aella stayed to control her powers, even though through the years she faded more and more, her inability to not merge with the wind around her when she moved evident enough of that. Her voice was practically nonexistent as well, fading into a gentle whisper that could only be heard if one listened intently and silently.
Bunny shook his head with a groan as he again found all his thoughts going to Aella, lately that had been happening more often than he would like to admit. He looked back to the table at his broken paintbrush and picked up one piece of the broken wood and glared at it in annoyance, the eggs might grow on trees but the paintbrushes were specially made by North and Bunny hated going to the boisterous man and asking for new ones. He dropped the brush and slammed his head on the desk with a groan, he had already had one unwanted encounter with a fellow Guardian and he wasn't really in the mood for another one so soon.
He shivered as a slight breeze ran up his spine but paid it no attention, his head staying stubbornly on the table, that is until he felt a tug on his right ear. When he still didn't responded there was another tug, slightly harsher this time and Bunny grimaced in annoyance as the tugging persisted. "Will you stop that?" He asked finally, his voice muffled by the table. His response was another tug at his ear; he lifted his head and looked at the smiling face floating inches from his own with a eyebrow raised in annoyance, the girl smiled at him widely before tugging on his ear again, "I guess not." He sighed, "Why are you back so soon?" He asked, straightening out and looking at the girl floating over his table, her pink skirt blowing dangerously close to his paints.
Aella's smile fell from her face and she floated down to the seat across from him, her eyes not meeting Bunny's, she stayed that way for a few minutes with Bunny staring her down until her shoulders raised and dropped with a heavy sigh. She finally allowed her eyes to meet his before she waived her hand and the wind picked up some fallen flower petals and sticks and brought them to dance on the table, acting out the scene of Jack playing with the kids, a few petals staying behind the group, and Bunny could only assume that they represented her, the little petals moved away from each other and Bunny felt the understanding of what had happened wash over him.
"Still can't see you?" Bunny asked and the girl just stared down at the petals that represented her with sadness as they were left alone and Bunny reached across the table to grab her hand that was swirling the air around. "But I can." He added and the girl stared at his fluffy hand wrapped around hers for a moment before she looked up at him with a small smile. Bunny returned the smile and squeezed the girls hand before pulling away and looking down at the broken brush again, "Don't suppose you know how to make paint brushes, do you?" He asked and looked up at the girl who was now shrugging with a crooked smile, her expression causing Bunny to snort in amusement. "Guess I got to run to see North, wanna join me?" He asked as he stood and Aella nodded silently following him to her feet. Bunny smiled as he tapped his foot and a hole in the ground appeared, with a giddy smile Aella jumped down the hole and Bunny followed quickly after with a laugh.
I hope you liked the first chapter, I am currently working on the next chapter so hopefully I will have that up soon. Until next time.
