Thank you for reading! :)

Burr's POV

I had been avoiding them all day. I think you know who I mean. Them.

I was having a bad day in office, as well. I barely slept last night, due to last night's incident. I was tempted to get a quick 5-minute nap in the bathroom, I suppose I could also lock the office door…

Suddenly, I was called. There was some trouble downtown and we had to go sort it. I got up and went to the meeting room. My eyes glanced over to the corner, where Alex stood with his muscular arms folded, trying to hide his blatant nervousness. And I knew why he was nervous, he was apart of fucking mafia.

Did I forgot to mention we were police officers? Yeah, of course I did. Our job is to literally stop injustice in the system we aren't supposed to cause it.

I hopped into the car and shut the door swiftly, Charles Lee following soon after. I hadn't known the guy for long, he just moved here and joined our force. A lot of the others think he isn't a very good officer, but I don't mind him.

The engine revved to life and we blasted full force into the late-morning-fog. Charles hesitantly switched the siren on, like he was unsure of what he was supposed to do.

After greeting each other in a very awkward action, the drive there was silent. I was concentrated on moving as fast as possible without slamming into another car as Charles stared out the window to the side.

Once we arrived, we could see other cars from a different precinct already there. It turns out that a riot had started in the centre of town. The riot police were stationed at the front with batons and shields, while other officers hung back behind cars, guns aimed. I looked around, and found it strange I couldn't see Hamilton or Washington anywhere. My gaze continued to move and stopped on the bank next to us. Three men were there, they had all black clothing on and masks covering their faces, making them unidentifiable. They grabbed a black bag (probably to transport something) from a truck and rushed inside.

My sleep-deprived brain disapproved of this action, and the several coffees I had that morning couldn't stop it. My legs seemed to practically carry themselves to the building

Without a second thought, I stormed inside, gun ready to fire.

The thieves had left a trail of muddy footprints behind them, which was kind-of dodgy. Then again, robbing a bank in broad daylight isn't the sneakiest move, either.

I cautiously followed the trail, crouching slightly. My cap began to slowly slide off of my head as sweat formed on my brow. I turned and stopped in a small room with a massive safe attached to the wall.

"We can't do that! Just leave a ransom note or something,"

Oh.

My.

God.

My feet stopped to a halt, I mentally cringed at the squeak it produced.

It was them.

The ones I had been avoiding all day.

Here they were.

Robbing a bank.

Well, I had to do something, I guess.

"Stop! In the name of the law!"

There were only two men there now. A small one and big one.

Well, I suppose the small one wasn't actually that small, until you compared him with the other.

They turned slowly, hands raised.

"Drop you weapo- Oh,"

They had no weapons, weird.

Actually, they didn't have anything with them at all.

"Fancy seeing you here, Bu-" The figure was stopped by the taller once next to him, with the slap of a hand on a mouth.

Silence.

"What the hell do you two think youre doing? I saw three of you enter with a bag,"

They slowly turned to look at each other, both saying nothing. They obviously didn't expect to get caught.

I sighed and tilted my head down a bit. "You have the right to remain silent," I announced, grabbing a pair of handcuffs from my belt with one hand, and the other still on the gun. I walked up to them slowly and was about to put one in handcuffs, when I saw something move out of the corner of my eye. I turned to look at it in slight disgust.

The smaller thief, seeing what I was looking at, rushed with no hesitancy to the object (AKA the bag they were carrying when they entered), covering it from vision with his body.

"Open the bag," I stated dryly, my other hand dropped the cuffs, moving back to the gun.

The man looked at his partner again, this time quickly, like he was in a panic. The other nodded, slowly moving himself, which I didn't notice then.

The small man opened the bag, and sprinted to the side of his friend. Nothing happened for a while, but the bag seemed to be moving slightly.

Then out came Peggy.

Before I had time to react and arrest them properly, the big one had punched me hard and used the handcuffs I dropped to attach me to a chair in the middle of the vault. Then I blacked out.

And that's all I can remember up until now.

Hamilton's POV

When Burr turned the corner, I freaked. What the hell was I doing right now? This is like, the complete opposite of my job.

Madison turned slowly after Burr announced his arrival, I copied his actions.

I thought saying something to him would be cool, seem like we aren't scared of him right now. W-Well, I wasn't SCARED of him, I was scared of being caught and sent to jail by my peers! Yeah.

"Fancy seeing you here, Bu-" I was cut off by Madison's sweaty palm.

We stayed there for a while, Burr questioning where George had gone, since he saw us enter. I tried my best to block his view of the bag our hostage was in, maybe he wouldn't notice.

Unfortunately, when he went over to arrest Madison, he froze.

I knew immediately he had seen it, so I rushed over to defend it from being opened.

Then, Madison reached for the handcuffs he so clumsily dropped. Seriously, Burr? Has the force taught you nothing?

I opened the bag, and rushed to Madison's side, and counted to 5. Once Peggy's body tumbled out, he grabbed Burr and smashed his head with his bony fist.

After tying them both up, we left after grabbing George, who was taking some money from a different vault.

Madison left with the money and outfits back to the hideout as George and I went to join the force again. The riot seemed to be dying down as some riot control had relaxed a bit, and far less people were there.

A few ambulances crowded the area, but that was expected.

Charles spotted me making my way to my partner, and stopped me in my tracks.

"Hey! Have you seen Burr?" He questioned. God, I hated this kid. He was a good for nothing waste of space. A bit of an English accent still resided in his way of speaking, and his scrawny figure showed us he was no American.

"No, sorry," I said, rushing back to my section and sitting beside Laurens. "You alright there, pard'ner?" He said, tipping his hat to me. I scoffed his antics and turned to the barricade in place.

"Ok, but seriously, did you get the job done,"

I nodded. "We took out Burr in the process,"

"Was that in the plan?"
"No, he saw us enter the bank. He's chained up with Peggy,"

He nodded in reply and went back to threatening the slowly decreasing riot crowd with a gun.

*******TIME SKIP*******

It was quite late when I got back home, a few officers had been searching for him since we arrested a few rioters and put them in the cells.

I put my stuff down and collapsed on the couch, TV remote in hand. I did feel kind of bad, as I flicked through TV channels. Usually Burr and I would be playfully arguing over what to watch.

It had seemed like he was ignoring me today. Maybe that was him the other night spying on us…

That would make a lot of sense, actually.

No, no. I shouldn't accuse him of something like that, he's too much of a goody-two-shoes.

I fell asleep in front of the TV that night, or the next morning, I should say.

The guilt was crushing me.

What if he died? What if he was accused of hurting Peggy or robbery?

The last thoughts that crossed my mind before I fell to sleep didn't help with the nightmare I had, continuing on from last night.

What the hell?

You killed them!

You!
YOU!

You.
