Raiden awoke from his night of rest, and instantly went to the storage unit aboard The Steelix. He grabbed an Electrolyte Charger Cord, and plugged it into his wrist.
He spent about five minutes recharging his reserves to their maximum containment, and headed to The Steelix's main computer. He switched it on, and flipped through several files.
"Next target is Sgt. Lake of The Primary Scientific Defense Lineup." Raiden said to himself, reading over the Target's Profile. "According to this He has some sort of... Artificial Life Creator? Sounds like some sort of cloning device..." Raiden said, surprised, as He hasn't heard of cloning in a very long time.
The Target's Location was Saint Harbor City, specifically the Lacer Aerial Science Building. "David," Raiden said, addressing the Pilot AI. "Set The Steelix's course for Saint Harbor City. We have work to do." Raiden commanded. The Steelix's Computer beeped, as it blasted off at a high speed toward the requested destination.
After a two hour long flight, Raiden arrived just outside Saint Harbor City. However it wasn't at all what Raiden had originally expected. It was mostly destroyed, and was filled with what appeared to be Desperado Soldiers and alterred Metal Gear Rays.
Raiden decided to go in with his normal attire, that being nothing, and grabbed his High Frequency Blade. He enterred the main pod at the rear of The Steelix. "Launch Me down on the South Eastern Street." Raiden said. The Steelix took aim, and shot Raiden down at an incredibly fast speed. The Pod impacted with a Metal Gear Ray.
Raiden bursted out of the pod, and jabbed his blade into the top of The Ray, dragging it down the back, slicing the Ray in half. Raiden landed safely, and The Ray was destroyed. "Now to find this 'Science Building.'" Raiden said to himself. But before He could have time to think He was ambushed by several soldiers.
"They really never learn..." Raiden said, dashing forward, destroying the enemy cyborgs with ease. "You'd think that by now they'd realize this is a lost cause." Raiden remarked. He then turned his attention to the North, spotting a large Skyscraper labelled 'Lacer Aerial.' Raiden sprinted off as fast as He could, hoping He hasn't alerted his target.
Raiden eventually barged through the front door of the Skyscraper, seeing multiple Scientists and His Target conversing. Of course, the random cyborg barging into their building halted their conversation.
"Ah... Jack. You've arrived." Said Sgt. Lake. "I was wondering how long it'd take for You to actually track Me down." He said. Raiden approached, drawing his blade. "Are You going to surrender, or am I going to have a problem with You too?" Raiden asked.
"Considering I am innocent, and unarmed, I see no reason for You to even have Your weapon drawn. Judging by Your tone, You're assuming I want to fight?" Lake asked, surprisingly calm. "Well all of the other Desperado stooges tried to kill Me when they found out who I was. So I have a good reason to assume You aren't going to just hand yourself over." Raiden responded.
"Well of course I'm not going to hand myself over. I'm an innocent man!" Lake exclaimed. "Besides, I am under the protection of the Shadowy Samurai of Justice. Or... Black Lightning, as He prefers to be called." Lake said, smirking. "Black... Lightning? Who the hell is that? Some sort of new age mercenary? Or another Metal Gear You've concocted with the other Desperado Generals?" Raiden said, not buying in much to his vague words.
Suddenly, another person entered the room. They were dressed in a long black trench coat, a black face mask that covered everything but their hair, and black dress shoes. They had Blonde Hair, and were around the same height as Raiden. "Leave now terrorist scum, or be destroyed by my swift justice." Said the new mysterious man through a distorted voice modulator. "Is this Your idea of intimidation Lake?" Raiden said after taking a good look at the figure.
The Man dressed in black uncloaked a High Frequency blade of his own, it had a dark black blade and a navy blue hilt with black electricity emitting from the blade. "Ah... Black Lightning. I get it now. You're trying to copy Me." Raiden said, catching onto Lake's Creation pretty quickly.
Lake crossed his arms and backed up a bit. "Copying would be a waste. I took what I saw in You, and improved upon it. Behold the better Jack The Ripper!" Lake said, proud of his creation. Black Lightning rushed to Raiden, attempting to overhead slice him. Raiden of course swapped his guard upward, blocking the attack. "I don't know who You are under that mask, nor do I really care, but I do hope that You know what kind of path You are going down. I'll give You one shot to turn away from this life. Right here right now." Raiden said to Black Lightning, hoping He could convince this person to maybe step down.
"Heh... It's funny, I was going to say the same to You." Black Lightning said, kicking Raiden into a wall. "Come on now 'Lightning Bolt', show Me the strength that everybody brags about!" Black Lightning taunted. Raiden ran at superhuman speed, and slid under Black Lightning, He also attempted to slice his arm with his blade. However, Black Lightning grabbed Raiden's Blade, lifting it up and staring at Raiden through the dark mask. "Your so called 'Tool of Justice' isn't working very well now is it?" Black Lightning said, kicking Raiden in the ribs and throwing him, along with his blade, back into the same wall from earlier.
"Come now my fellow Workers, let's go somewhere more safe to spectate." Lake said, leading his Scientists to an upper level where they could watch the Fight without any risks. "Dammit... I should've known it wouldn't have been this simple..." Raiden said to himself, getting up from the attack. "I won't lose to a faker who can't even understand what He's doing." Raiden said, preparing to run in again. "You keep stealing my lines." Black Lightning said, standing there.
Raiden knew that Lake couldn't have possibly made something more powerful than himself, so Raiden kicked things into high gear and began using major amounts of electrolytes to unleash his real strength. Raiden dashed forward, shoulder charging directly into Black Lightning. Black Lightning and Raiden hit the wall, leaving a large dent. Raiden quickly raised his blade to Black Lightning's throat, and was prepared to execute him. However, Black Lightning used his knee to launch Raiden back off of him. "It seems We are on equal terms of strength, Ripper." Black Lightning said, slightly impressed. Raiden ignored him, and charged in for yet another strike.
Black Lightning dodged Raiden's strike and kicked him down. "I've also analyzed Your fights. However... I know your priority here is Sgt. Lake, not Me. Hell, You haven't even heard of Me before this moment. So..." Raiden interrupted him by attempting to stab his blade into Lightning's gut, however Lightning gripped the blade and tossed it out of Raiden's hand. "Patience Ripper. Just hear Me out." Lightning said, gripping Raiden by the neck and lifting him up, making eye contact. "I'm letting You take Lake. After further research, I can see why You want him dead. Just know that wherever You go, I'll always find You. Later, Ripper." Black Lightning said, dropping Raiden and dashing off through the front door.
Raiden got up onto his feet. "Guh... So He doesn't work for You?" Raiden said, looking up to the now surprised Sgt. Lake. Although, instead of responding, Lake ran. "Ah dammit here We go." Raiden said, grabbing his blade and dashing over to the stairwell, attempting to follow him. Eventually, both of them ended up on the roof of the building. Raiden stared at Lake, knowing Lake had nowhere to run anymore. "I'll admit, Black Lightning running away was something I didn't even expect." Lake said, backing up. "Is there any chance You can let Me go and We try again later...?" Lake asked, knowing it was a stupid question. "You can't be serious..." Raiden said, holstering his blade. "Just surrender Lake. I'll bring You in and You'll stand trial for the crimes You've committed." Raiden said, holding his hand out to Lake with his offer.
Lake sighed, and looked down. "Sorry Jack, but as an Innocent Man I will defend myself at all costs. Especially against this uneccessary attack You've arranged on Me." Lake said, pressing a button on a remote behind his back. "At least now You can see the future of the Battlefield... Metal Gear Octo!" Lake exclaimed, as the center of the roof opened up and a large platform raised up with a brand new form of Metal Gear.
This Gear had eight mechanical tentacles, as well as a orb shaped cockpit for a pilot and two cannons attached to the front of the cockpit. It's name Octo was fitting, as it resembled an Octopus heavily with jetboosters on the bottom of the tentacles that sort of resembled suction cups. Lake hopped into the cockpit before Raiden could stop him, and booted up the gear. It let out a war cry that echoed through the city. Raiden scoffed. "Is this the best You got? A mechanical octopus?" He said, unimpressed.
"Bah! You have no appreciation for creativity!" Lake exclaimed through a loudspeaker. Metal Gear Octo lifted off with it's jet boosters, using the rear four tentacles to fly, and the front two to attack. Raiden unsheathed his blade and readied himself to counter or dodge. A tentacle slammed down in front of him, knocking Raiden back with pure force. Raiden recovered quickly, and sliced the tentacle in half. Or... At least that's what He tried to do. His blade bounced off of the tentacle. "What the hell...?" Raiden said to himself. "BAHAHAHAAAAAAH!" Lake laughed. "Your sword can't penetrate the indestructible defense of Metal Gear Octo! That's why You will be crushed here!" Lake exclaimed, proud of his work.
"This is going to be a serious problem... But I can't let Lake escape..." Raiden said to himself, staring at the cockpit of Metal Gear Octo. "That's it... I know how to get You now." He said, dashing up the tentacle still lodged in the ground. Lake's eyes widened intensely "NONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONO!" Lake yelled rapidly pressing a button on his control board, seperating the tentacle from the Gear. Lake sighed in relief as the tentacle fell off of the gear. Raiden hopped off the falling tentacle, and stared at the Gear. "So is that what You're going to do everyti-" Before Raiden could finish his sentence a missile hit him directly in his chest, launching him off the building, luckily He caught the ledge. "Okay... I didn't see that coming." Raiden said, catching his breath.
Raiden hopped back up onto the roof of the building, holstering his sword. "Alright Lake. I'm gonna get You one way or another. So bring it on!" Raiden exclaimed, getting into a kneeling stance. "HAH! I'm untouchable as long as Metal Gear Octo exists! You stand no chance Jack!" Lake exclaimed, feeling like a god inside of his Gear. Lake proceeded to launch several missiles at Raiden, attempting to blast him away. Raiden was ready this time, and leaped onto the first missile, and began hopping from missile to missile until He finally reached the other attacking tentacle. "OH SHIT NONONO!" Lake screamed, being almost childish as He rapidly pressed the same button on his control board yet again. The attacking tentacle Raiden was standing on was disconnected, and Raiden took this opperutity to leap onto the Gear's head.
"Let's quit with the games Lake." Raiden said, bashing the glass of the cockpit, and gripping Lake by the neck. Raiden leaped off with Lake in hand, letting Metal Gear Octo crash due to having no pilot. They landed safely on the roof. "W-Whoever is paying You to come after Me I can double their pay Jack! I mean come on, a rich guy like Me is a great ally to have! Just let Me go!" Lake begged. Raiden sighed, and looked at Lake with disappointment. "I'm doing this for myself, free of charge. The only thing I get out of this is justice for the people YOU hurt and killed." Raiden responded, sprinting his way down to the bottom floor and exiting the building. Raiden requested a pick up pod from The Steelix, and brought Sgt. Lake back onboard. Lake was placed inside of a small cell aboard The Steelix.
"I don't want to hear any complaints, You'll be turned in by the N.A.D.D to proper Law Enforcement after they probe a confession out of You." Raiden said. Raiden then returned to bed, resting and letting the Pilot AI handle the rest for the day.
