THE TECHNO QUEEN

1.3

Dinah was afraid.

She was in a truck, and there were men she didn't know with guns, and she couldn't stop crying. It was embarrassing. She was twelve. Practically a grown up! But she was so scared, she just couldn't stop.

The truck slowed down, and then stopped. She didn't know where they were. They had put a bag over her head. One of the men put a hand firmly on her shoulder and made her stand up, and led her out of the truck. Soon they were inside a building, and it sounded big and roomy, and like there were a lot of people there. It kind of sounded like how an office would, professional voices and hurried footsteps that had important things to do.

She walked up and down some stairs, a door closed behind her, and the bag was taken off her head.

There was a man in black spandex with a white snake on it sitting behind a desk in front of her.

Likelihood of this man killing me?

002.30500 percent chance this man wants to kill me, her power told her. Reassuring.

Likelihood of this man hurting me?

016.91804 percent chance that this man wants to hurt me. She began to calm down.

Likelihood of this man letting me go back home?

000.0000 percent chance that this man will be letting me go back home.

Her heart skipped a beat.

"Dinah, my pet," he said lovingly, even though this was the first time she'd ever seen him. "I hear you have a gift?"

"Please let me go home." She said hopelessly.

"Of course I'll let you go home." He said soothingly. "But first, I want to you to help me with a few things, okay? You'll be home before you know it."

Likelihood that this man is lying to me?

100.00000 percent chance this man is lying to me.

Dinah began crying again.

And then, the power went out.

The man in front of her didn't even move a muscle, but the other men in the room with guns immediately snapped to attention, running out of the room. There was a lot of shouting, and the sound of fighting and gunfire. The man stayed in place, as if thinking very hard. He then stood up, walked around his desk, and grasped her wrist roughly. He was gripping too tight, and it hurt.
Dinah didn't say anything.

He led them out of the office through a side door into a tiny Spartan bedroom. Dinah wondered if the man slept there, but the bed was too small and the room was too… new. Maybe it was a guest room.

He let go of her and shoved her further into the room. He closed and bolted the door and began barricading it with the scant few pieces of furniture he had available.

"So, Dinah, my pet, I hear that you have to answer a question when it is asked? Honestly?" he grunted as he worked. The sound of gunfire was coming closer.

"Y-yes," she said.

"What is the likelihood of my survival?"

"023.5486 percent chance of you surviving." She answered automatically.

There was a lot of noise just outside the door now.

The man retrieved a gun from his belt and looked at her thoughtfully. Dinah tried not to shrink back, although she wasn't quite sure why.

"Likelihood of my survival if I use you as a hostage?"

Fear.

"001.001 percent chance of you surviving if you use me as a hostage." She was breathing hard now, and she couldn't look away from the gun.

He looked away from her. Dinah didn't calm down.

"Like-"

The door exploded.

A woman in a cape and four robots with cool looking guns entered the room.

"Coil," the woman in the cape said and she sounded really mad.

The man, Coil, raised his hands in a placating manner, but that just seemed to make the woman in the cape angrier.

"Now, Techno Queen, you have to-"

"It's. THE. TECHNO. QUEEN." She snarled.

She went for the futuristic looking gun hanging from her belt, but Coil already had his gun in his hand, so he shot her. It was really loud and Dinah screamed and covered her ears. But instead of falling to the ground, one of the robots leapt in front of the- THE TECHNO QUEEN. The bullet barely left a scratch.

She shot her gun and a white beam flew at Coil. He tried to dodge, but it hit his shoulder and he fell right to the ground anyway.

He didn't move.

THE TECHNO QUEEN breathed sharply and loudly, as if she had just done something very hard. She was shaking.

Likelihood of this woman killing me?

000.00000 percent chance of this woman killing me.

Likelihood of this woman hurting me?

000.0000 percent chance of this woman hurting me.

Dinah was beginning to get a headache, but she asked one more question anyway.

Likelihood of this woman letting me go home?

100.00000 percent chance of this woman letting me go home.

Dinah stopped crying.

AN: You may wonder how THE TECHNO QUEEN knew that Coil was kidnapping Dinah, but THE TECHNO QUEEN has eyes everywhere! (she hacks all non Tinker cameras everywhere and has a program to tell her when anything "bad" happens.)
