ACT ONE, CHAPTER FOUR
At his private chamber of the Green Secret House, Tyrean was curled up on a very fluffy bed.
Despite looking like he was in a deep sleep, he isn't. After all, sleep was completely unnecessary for someone like him. And it's a passive that, which at the moment, he wanted nothing more to get rid of.
{As expected, even if I'm lying on the most comfortable bed, I am still unable to sleep. I mean serious, how can one go on without experiencing the joys of sleeping. Will I never be able to sleep from dawn to twilight, or twilight to twilight? It's no wonder Ainz is burning out.}
He never thought that being unable to sleep will become such drawback.
{The phrase 'you never know the value of what have until you lose it' really fits this situation, huh.}
Even though he's unable to sleep, he refused to open his eyes. After all, sleep was not the only way to rest. Lying down on the fluffiest bed is quite relaxing as well.
Although this was essentially pointless, the remnant of his former humanity was demanding that he should rest. It was like his mind had put its foot down. It was demanding him to take a break, unwind, and cool down. And so, he did just that.
After all, it has been—
Well, he is not sure how much time had passed. But he's very certain that a long time has passed since he came into this world. And during those time, he hasn't slept a wink.
The last time he laid down was when he was suffering from a soul severing level of pain.
He tried reading a book, his favourite form of relaxation. But since his selection was sparse, he chose to read one of the magical tomes that caught his attention. But after seeing a random page, he promptly gave up.
What he saw was an abomination made born from high level geometry, magic, and runes mixed together. Just looking at that one page was enough to give him a severe headache.
So in the end, he chose to just lay there — eyes closed, breathing lightly, trying to meditate.
The keyword here is trying.
Meditation, the act of clearing one's mind from any and all thoughts, is not something that could be learned from one sitting nor would be learned easily with instructions. It requires guidance. So, as expected he's having a very hard time.
{Those Harry Potter fanfictions made occlumency sound so easy.}
(A/N: According to most Harry Potter fanfictions that I read, the first step of learning occlumency is clearing one's mind from any thought.)
The human behind Tyrean has a very active imagination. If he was to describe it, it's like seeing a television go through one channel at a time.
If you think that, sure you could try to turn the television off.
But there's just one huge problem.
How can you turn off the television when it has no a switch, remote control, or requires a power source to work? And no, breaking the television is not an option.
So, here he is, struggling to clear his mind from random thoughts.
{Come on Tyrean. You can do this. It should be daytime soon. Just hold on for a little bit longer!}
He has been trying to meditate for more than five hours.
This task however is proven very difficult. Well, it's not just his state of mind. Something else is making it even harder to do so.
When his superior sense of time finally picked up that the sun has begun to rise. Tyrean opened his eyes and slowly sat up.
As much as he wanted to jump off his bed, he does not want to actively embarrass himself in front of other people.
Tyrean instinctively stretched his muscles. He then inclined his head to look over to a corner of the room.
Standing perfectly still in the corner of his private chamber is Hiron.
Currently, the man stood there perfectly still, his back ramrod straight. He looks like one of those Grenadier Guards. Well… he's less threatening due to his handsome visage… Scratch that. This man would definitely be flocked by people instead of scaring them away.
{Well, most of my Guardians are good looking. Does that mean they're not fit to be my guards?}
Anyways, what's more amazing than Hiron standing perfectly still is, his posture has not changed since last night.
The said Guardian was the reason he was having a harder time relaxing or meditating.
{How did it get to this?} Tyrean thought while mentally sighing in despair.
After the emergency meeting yesterday, Hiron insisted that he should take a break. And of course, the rest of his Guardians along with Semiramis voiced their agreement to Hiron's idea.
The wood Semiramis need would take about six hours to produce. He doesn't need to be there until then. Also, it's currently night time. A part of the day that usually meant rest. And it's not like he has anything else to do, so he obliged.
He did not expect that Hiron would throw him a curved ball.
The man enthusiastically volunteered to guard him while he's resting. Tyrean didn't have a chance for a rebuttal because Hiron quickly gave a list of reasons justifying that he was the best person for the job. And like before, his Guardians and Semiramis voiced their agreement to Hiron's idea like it's the most natural thing to do.
Although he wanted nothing more than to say no, wasn't able to. He relented at the assault of Hiron's infallible logic. Besides if he's planning to deny Hiron, he should at least have a good reason. He'll look like an ass if he disagree without one. And since he's unable to come up with at least one good reason at the spot, he begrudgingly gave up.
Tyrean thought it was fine since Hiron was going to station himself outside of his room. So he was okay with that. What he didn't expect that Hiron would follow him into his private chamber. Let alone vigilantly watching him all through the night.
He wanted scream in protest but seeing how Hiron was literally beaming in happiness that he could serve him, he held his tongue.
And so, here they are.
For the whole night, Hiron's line of sight constantly fixed on Tyrean. He was staring at Tyrean like he created the universe or he 'IS' the answer to all questions that exist and will exist.
It was a truly indescribable burden.
Of course, Hiron had certainly not intended to exert this pressure, it was simply because paying close attention to him would allow Hiron to respond immediately to any situation that might arise.
Sadly, nobody would feel comfortable if they were constantly stared at like this.
The most important thing was the way Hiron silently responded to Tyrean's tiniest movement.
If he even show signs of discomfort, the man would immediately ask him if he needed anything. So, Tyrean had to stay still the whole time. A task that he considers very difficult.
{Ah! What a miserable experience.}
Of course, Tyrean could have harden his heart and forbade Hiron from doing so. Hiron would definitely stop. But imagining Hiron's kicked puppy face, he could not bring himself to speak those words. He would rather kill a people than say those words.
Tyrean slowly rose from the bed.
Seeing Tyrean rising from his bed, Hiron shifted a little bit. It made Tyrean feel as if there was a string connecting them. A mischievous feeling was rising in him, he wanted to flick a finger or two just to see how would Hiron react.
He quickly squashed that thought though.
"Good morning, Hiron." Tyrean greeted the man, knowing Hiron will not speak until spoken to or has something important to speak about, he has to be the one who initiate a conversation between them.
For a person who isn't very good when it comes to socializing, this is a nightmare. He still cringed at the memory of him trying to entertain his brother-in-law.
"Isang pinagpalang umaga din sa inyo Panginoon. (A blessed morning to you as well Tyrean-sama.)"
Tyrean nodded and waved his hand to indicate that he is dismissed.
Understanding his Master's gesture, Hiron excused himself to Tyrean, and left the room.
As soon as the door made a clicking sound, Tyrean sprang into action. First, he began the day by practicing his katas. He does so, to make it less alien to him.
Upon finishing all the routine exercises, he removed his clothing, piece by piece. Surprisingly, one could disrobe normally, like how would one do in real life.
Anyways, when all article of clothing were removed, he sauntered barefoot to the bathroom. Although, he knows that he isn't dirty, his Asian roots is screaming that he should take a bath, and he will do so.
Passing a mirror, Tyrean stops and inspects himself.
The man staring back has a pair of gorgeous hazel-with-gold-fleeks eyes, a blade like nose, a thin lips and a strong jaw covered by a neatly trimmed beard the same color as his short black hair. All in all, he has the face that would make mortals envious.
His body was beautifully cut wasting not an ounce of muscle or flesh. It's neither too bulky nor too lean, a perfect medium build. His build made him look strong without sacrificing speed.
Staring at his reflection, Tyrean thought that if he looked like this in the world he came from, he could have very successful modelling career.
His gaze then lands on his genitals.
{Or a porn star.} He added.
He thought about it for a second before snorting.
If he looked like this back then, he might not be here. This life would be so much better than becoming a model. He'd be insane to choose something as mundane as modelling or starring in pornography, when magic is an option.
{Besides, this beautiful appearance is just a façade.} Tyrean thought, knowing his abomination with thousands of form he could shift into.
No longer bothered with how gorgeous appearance, Tyrean went and took a bath.
Though his situation made him recall the question he once heard: 'why would Michelangelo make a towering David with the tiniest wee-wee?'
[x]
After experiencing his very first, very luxurious bubble bath, Tyrean made a promise to himself that he'll be bathing like that as much as he could.
{Preferably once a day.} He thought as he reluctantly started to reequip one piece of equipment at a time.
When all piece of his equipment were worn, he reached into his inventory and take out a card.
The card was near transparent. It's roughly the same size of a Tarot card. It has a picture of a mannequin modelling a complete set of clothing and accessories printed on it.
And without further ado, Tyrean jammed it into his equipment.
Upon it touches his equipment, the card quickly melted into a glimmering multicolour goo. It then quickly spreads itself all over his equipment. When it covered all surfaces, the goo shape-shifted along with his equipment.
Not a fraction of second longer, it finished shape shifting and its brilliant glow slowly receded which was quickly replaced by a different color.
When it was all over, Tyrean began inspect his equipment. Seeing that his equipment changed its appearance similar to what was printed in the card, Tyrean smiled in satisfaction.
The cash item is called [Equipment Avatar]. It's a magic item that can change user's equipment appearance and so much more.
It's kind of like those skins League of Legend's champion could choose from and wear — well after you buy it, of course. They could alter his overall equipment appearance, feel, abilities' animation, and add new effects dependent on the equipment avatar he'll wear.
A very nifty item to have. Especially, if you have do not have another set of equipment with similar properties but with different style.
His equipment would never get wrinkled even if he spent all night rolling around the bed. His body did cot excrete any waste product as well. The dust floating in the air that could settle on him could be easily brush off. In addition, he has a spell that could instantly clean himself. Furthermore, he did not need to eat or drink and thus he would not get dirty from those activities.
All and all, magical equipment are very good clothing. But it does come with a problem.
Seeing a person wearing the same set of clothes every day, makes you think that they don't have any other article of clothing than that. Which is why, he was very thankful that he has a lot of Equipment Avatar he could choose from.
At the moment, Tyrean looks like he is wearing a slim-fit double-breasted navy suit, baby blue shirt, stripped grey-n-white tie, and formal deep red shoes that has a polished professional look.
Inspecting himself from the mirror, he looked exceedingly well-dressed. He looks like a man with a particularly refined palette.
Although most of Tyrean's equipment avatars looks like a suit, he isn't complaining. After all, they all look nice.
It also relieves him the need to coordinate his clothing. Not that he isn't good at it, it's just too much of a chore to do so.
Seeing that everything was in order, Tyrean marched to his next destination.
[x]
Tyrean quietly advance towards his office, Hiron, who was guarding the door, courteously opened it for him, before he stepped away from the door to make way for his beloved Master.
He didn't say 'thank you' because he knows that he'll be sucked into there-is-no-need-to-thank-us conversation. Though, he feels a little bit guilty not saying it, he muscled through it.
Tyrean sigh as he sank into his magnificent chair.
Once he was comfortably seated, Hiron spoke.
"Has there been any issue while I was away?"
Hiron shook his head no.
"Panginoon, malugod ko pong ipinapaalam sa inyo, na walang anumang kaganapan na nangyari habang kayo ay namamahinga. (Tyrean-sama, I very happy to inform you that nothing had happen while you are resting.)"
"That's good. Has Mikolaj made contact?"
Hiron smiled wider.
"Tyrean-sama nais ko pong ipinapaalam ko po sa inyo na matagumpay nakabalik na si Mikolaj mula sa kanyang na misyon. (Tyrean-sama, I would like to inform you that Mikolaj has returned from his mission triumphantly.)"
"Really?! When did he arrived?" His head turned so fast towards Hiron's direction. He wasn't expecting that Mikolaj had finished his mission that fast.
It is not that he was doubting Mikolaj skill or anything. It is just that, it only has been seventeen hours since Mikolaj had left.
Tyrean was truly surprised that Mikolaj accomplished his mission faster than he expected. He assumed that it might take him a days to do so.
"Panginoon, apat na oras po ang nakalipas ng dumating si Mikolaj. (Tyrean-sama, it has been four hours since Mikolaj had arrived.)"
{Eh?! He even arrived earlier than I expected thought? And more importantly, why was I not informed earlier?! I could have had an excuse to escape that horrible situation you put me through!}
When he was about to voice out his second thought, Tyrean realized that he was resting when Mikolaj arrived. Putting two and two together, his Guardians, along with Mikolaj who came back from mission, didn't want to disturb his rest.
Understanding his Guardians' line of thought, Tyrean simply nodded before issuing a command.
"Very well then. Hiron, summon Mikolaj into my office. I would very much like to hear his report."
"Masusunood Panginoon. (Yes, Tyrean-sama. It will be done.)"
Hiron then immediately touched his temple with pointing finger and middle finger, and cast the Message spell.
Tyrean on the other hand was anxious to find out whether they exist in the same New World that Ainz and his Nazarick will come to existence.
If it's the former he'll be able to make full use of all the information he has. Which is a great boon. But if it's the latter, he might encounter a lot of difficulty. Though, a world where he has no information is scary but at the same time exciting.
Tyrean was hoping that it's the former due to being it less hassle than the latter.
Thankfully he didn't have to wait any longer.
At that precise moment, a knock came from the door. Giving Grey— a Hanzo, who was standing at attention by the door — permission to verify the identity of the person behind the door.
"Tyrean-sama, it is Mikolaj-sama."
Grey's voice was brimming with respect. A sign that they, the mercenaries, revere their Master and his personal creations.
{Was Mikolaj in the vicinity? How the hell did he came here so fast?} Tyrean thought.
It hasn't been a minute or so since Hiron contacted Mikolaj. Nevertheless, Tyrean warmly welcome Mikolaj's speed. After all, he'll be able to get the answer he wanted.
"Good. Let him enter."
Grey nodded. It then opened the door for Mikolaj to enter, before it stepped away from the door to make way for the visitor.
Mikolaj went down on one knee and said:
"Good morning, Tyrean-zama."
"Yes, it is a very good morning indeed!" Tyrean enthusiastically replied. "Most especially now that you are here. Which reminds me—" Tyrean rose from his chair, opened his arms, and spoke in his most gentlest tone "—welcome home, Mikolaj."
Mikolaj was momentary stunned. His body then shivered, his warm brown eyes watered, he croaked:
"Ty, ty, Tyrean-zama I, I, I'm home."
Embarrassed, Mikolaj ducked his head down. Not wanting his Master to see his less immaculate self.
Tyrean was also stunned. He didn't know Mikolaj would react so strongly to his greeting.
As an otaku, he has been exposed to various cultural practices. Some of which he incorporated to his day to day life. Like using Chinese proverb in expressing something.
There are also this he wanted to apply to his life but unable to. One of which is, to practice the Japanese greeting. Especially, the tadaima- okaerinasai practice.
(A/N: Both okaerinasai and tadaima are Japanese everyday phrases. The former means welcome home. While the latter would mean, you have come home.)
The idea of someone greeting you home after a day of hard work is very heart warming. It will remind you that you are never alone and that there is someone there waiting for you to come home. Someone you could share your success, your failure, your hopes and your dreams.
Just thinking about it, makes him very happy and fuzzy.
Unfortunately, he couldn't do so since he has no one was there to greet him. Doing so regardless would sound make him lonelier and depressing.
This time however is different. He has his Guardians. He decided to treat his Guardians, the way he wanted to be treated. And seeing it was strangely very effective, he'll do it from now on.
[x]
The map Mikolaj procured showed the same content as what he had seen in the overlord wiki, proving that they are the New World. Or some alternate universe of New World.
Tyrean proceeded to compare the map from the wiki and the newly acquired map for important land marks.
Like does the position of Baharuth Empire, Re-estize Kingdom, and Slane Theocracy the same in the newly acquired map.
{Perfect.} Tyrean thought as he finally confirmed that both map match one another.
Knowing that they are a more familiar world, Tyrean would be able to make full use of the information that he has.
This also means that Tyrean had just confirmed the location of the World Class Item [Downfall of Castle and Country], which is located at Slane Theocracy.
{I'm not sure if that Deep Darkness Dragon Lord really has one, though.} Tyrean thought. He didn't continue this line of thought for there are much bigger this to do.
And so without further ado, Tyrean took out a Scroll of Locate Object from his inventory, focused on what he wished to find, his Green Secret House, and activated it.
"Locate Object."
As soon as the spell scroll burnt, a blinking white dot appeared in the map, indicating his current location. With it, Tyrean was able to determine their position from the map with ease.
Tyrean couldn't help to marvel how convenience it was having magic by his side.
Seeing the spell scroll have activated, made him question a few things.
He thought that the array should have had countered or prevented the spell from finding their location.
{I could only assumed that it has something to do with me, being the spell scroll user and controller of the ward array. Or does that mean my ward array is failing? Well, it doesn't matter now.}
Tyrean then opened his connection with his array and saw that it still have four more days before it expires.
He shrugged.
Tyrean is no longer interested with that. After all, their fortress will be built by the time his ward array expire.
{That isn't important.} He thought before turning his attention back to the map.
Tyrean could confirm that their current location is at Argland State Counsil, just like Malyk had said.
{That's good.} That means the job scroll he used to pay Malyk wasn't wasted for nothing.
As for general direction, both their north and south are mountainous regions. Going further north leads you deeper into Argland State Counsil. While going down south, leads to Re-Estize Kingdom.
From their current position, west and east are plain. Going towards west leads mountainous region. East on the other hand lead to sea side.
Learning that they are so close to the sea, Tyrean muttered something the line of how lucky they were.
His gaze returns to Mikolaj.
"Mikolaj, you have done a great job. I very pleased and very proud how you handled your mission."
"Zank yo', Tyrean-zama. I am very happy dat yo' found my work zatizfactory."
When Mikolaj had recovered, Tyrean asked him report verbatim.
After hearing his report, Tyrean was shocked to learn how well Mikolaj conducted himself.
Mikolaj considered multiple facet of the mission before making his move. The man even thought that a large city was set-upped trap to lure enemies. Furthermore, he even considered the possibilities of his vassals being captured and mind controlled. Anticipating that to happen, he went and ordered his vassals to tail their scout.
All in all, Tyrean is very impressed with Mikolaj performance. Though, the part that considering a large city is too much, nevertheless he is still impressived.
He even captured an orichalcum class adventurer party that recently left the settlement.
Tyrean then gave Hiron instructions to be relayed to Tasha. For Tasha will be the one to gather intelligence from those adventurers.
Tyrean shook his head no.
"No, satisfactory is a mild way of putting it. Let me correct myself, you have done an outstanding job, Mikolaj. Thank you."
Mikolaj bowed deeply. His body was shaking, Tyrean could presume that he's very happy.
He then recalled the items he had been wanting to give to his Guardians and thinking that this is the perfect opportunity to reward those to them.
"—that being said, a reward is necessary."
And so, Tyrean pulls a crystal orb from his inventory and held it in front of Mikolaj.
The crystal orb is transparent, which is why you'd be able to see what's inside.
Looking closer into the orb, you'd see that the crystal was containing a wrathful storm clouds. You'd also see purple lightning from time to time, as well as a hazy figure.
Tyrean held it infront of Mikolaj.
"This is an Ultra-Rare Level 90 familiar. As for what kind of familiar it is? I will not tell you. That is up for you to discover. From now on, this is yours. Take it, it is a reward for your job well done." Says Mikolaj as he gestures for Mikolaj to take it.
Seeing that Mikolaj was about to resist, Tyrean pushed on.
"Don't tell me you won't accept this reward of mine? I'll be very sad if you won't." Tyrean tried to act sad as he could.
Tyrean used guilt trip—
Mikolaj look visibly torn between accepting and not to accept. But in the end, he cave in and accepted Tyrean's reward.
"I vill accept it, Tyrean-zama. Zank you very much!" says Mikolaj as he accepts his new familiar.
—and its super effective!
[x]
"Last one on the list." Tyrean muttered under his breath, as he entered his order to his construct.
As of the moment, his WCI is about to produce the exact amount of water Semiramis needs for the fortress.
After making sure that his command was correct, he allowed it to begin the production.
The moment it started the production, Tyrean saw the required amount of time.
[00:00:02:59:58, 57, 56, 55, 54…]
Seeing that it will need about three hours to complete his order, Tyrean began very excited.
{Three hours. It will that three hours to produce last material she needs. After that I can begin summoning new servants.}
As a matter of fact, Tyrean is currently reviewing which servant should he make.
Just thinking about it now makes him want to use an [Shards of Time] to immediately finish producing the last material Semiramis needs. But in the end he held back.
But he only has limited number of that cash item, so he did not do so. He reminded himself that he shouldn't be too rash. Nor, should he waste such precious and limited material. As well as, he should only use those to make his servants or if possible, a Death Star.
Speaking of Semiramis.
His gaze then landed on Semiramis.
She's currently busy collecting and storing the square cut timbers into her inventory.
It was quite a very amusing sight.
Seeing a frail looking beauty hauling a 15m x 5m x 5m square cut timbers using only her dainty little hands with such ease is very comical.
With the way she hauled those huge-ass timber, she made it look like they're made of air.
Although, Tyrean had seen her lifting boulders that weigh a ton without a sweat, it is still a remarkable sight to see.
It is not like Tyrean haven't offered to help her, he did. He really wanted to help her. Unfortunately for him, it is only Semiramis who has access to her inventory. Which is why he is left nothing do but watch her do it all her own.
But watching her go at it alone is uncomfortable.
It's has been ingrained to his head that he should be helpful to the fairer sex. Hence, it's uncomfortable because he can't help in any way.
But to ensure that she won't feel embarrassed with her situation, he watched her discreetly as possible. And also, straight up staring at someone is just plain wrong.
[x]
After chucking the last timber, she stiffened when she finally noticed that her master was looking at her direction. Although, he was doing his best to do so discreetly as possible.
She felt embarrassed that her Master saw her unladylike behaviour. But she quickly got over it though. After all, she was once a queen and a queen must be, and should be, composed at all times.
"Tyrean-sama I have finished storing all of the timbers."
"Good. The construct will take three hours to produce the last material you'll need." Her master informs her.
"Understood, Tyrean-sama."
Semiramis glanced at her Master's amazing thaumatological instrument called [Infinite Source of Fortune and Greed], an instrument capable of producing miracles.
Miracles that would test the power of Gods. She knew that even the Gods themselves will not be able to accomplish feats like his Master has done so easily.
Her Master told her that it's an instrument that has power equivalent to, the combine power of the whole world.
When she heard those words, it shook her down to her core. She then asked herself a question.
{What can a person do with such level of power?}
The answer is fairly obvious.
They will become the ruler of the world. Her Master has the power to become the ruler of this world.
The greatest blow was when her Master promptly told her that there are two hundred of those.
Which means somebody out there will challenge her Master's qualification as World Ruler.
As a devoted servant, she, Semiramis, will ensure that no one will get between her Master and his destiny.
[x]
Tyrean sat on a chair and looked at the mirror before him. It was roughly about one meter wide. It did not reflect Tyrean's face, but a scenery. The mirror was like a television set, showing images of a distant place.
At the moment, the mirror is focused on a small patch of grass. The grass swayed in the wind, proving that it was not a still image.
Tyrean reached out to the mirror and swiped his hand right. The mirror's image changed.
This was a Mirror of Remote Viewing.
This was a magic item used to display an image of a specific region. Provided, it is not warded. It was a very useful item for player-killers, or player-killer-killers. As stated before, there were low level spells which occluded information-gathering spells that could hide people from the mirror's eyes. In addition, it was easy for the users to be counterattacked by offensive barriers, so it was an average item at best.
However, for the present circumstances, an item which could show the outside world was a very useful item to have.
Tyrean, who kept seeing nothing but close-up view of a blade of grass, was not enjoying this magic item. In fact, he is so close to clobbering the mirror into non-existence.
{Damn it, Maruyama! You made it sound easy.}
He was having a very hard time controlling the mirror.
He knew for a fact that hand movements control the mirror. The problem is, he's having a hard identifying which gesture does which.
He repeatedly use different kind of hand gesture to change the scene shown by the mirror, another yet different close-up view of a blade of grass.
Tyrean sigh.
If he was alone in this room, he would have thrown a tantrum just to ease his frustration.
Sadly, he has company. So he has to muscle down all his rage, which is a lot harder than it looks.
"What'sss wrong, Tyrean-sama? I ssstand ready to heed your command."
Tasha was the other person in the room. He might have been smiling, but his words seemed to hold some kind of subtext. Although Tasha was absolutely loyal to him, he had objected to Tyrean's excursion beyond the warded area.
He had a brilliant idea to help find the most suitable location to build the flying fortress, instead of proceeding to summon new servants. Since their first agenda is to secure a base, not servant creation.
Sadly, his Guardians greatly protested, Semiramis included.
Even with the knowledge that very few people could harm him, Tyrean relented to his Guardians' pleading.
And so, he's stuck here with Tasha accompanying him.
{Urg… I don't want this.}
Allowing Hiron to attend to him was a great mistake. He should have been firm and said no. Now, all his Guardians want to have a turn attending all his needs.
Then again, he wasn't able to say no to Tasha.
{Because that would be unfair.} He told himself. {It might cause a rift between his Guardians.} He added.
After grumbling in his heart, Tyrean shook his head no and looked back to the mirror.
Since Tyrean cannot help them personally, he'll just have to make do with this freaking mirror.
He does not know how long it has been.
It might have only been a while, but so far his work had not borne fruit, and he could not help but feel like this was all a waste of time.
Deciding that this will be his last attempt, Tyrean casually waved his hand with a defeated expression, and his field of vision suddenly expanded.
"Oh!"
Surprise, delight, and pride could he heard from Tyrean's exclamation. At his wit's end, he made a random gesture and the screen suddenly did as he wanted it to do.
{Hell yeah! Take that Maruyama!}
Cheering and clapping answered him. The source of these two sounds was Tasha.
"Congratulationsss, Tyrean-sssama. Your ssservant Tasha ssstandsss in awe of your prowesss."
{Yes! I did it! Though it was a fruit of extensive trial and error. A success is still a success.} Tyrean thought that, but still accepted Tasha's praise.
"Thank you, Tasha. Although, I do apologize for making you accompany me for so long."
{I'm sorry that you have to watch me fail over and over.} Those words was what he really wanted to say.
"What are you sssaying, Tyrean-sssama? Ssstaying by your side and obeying your ordersss isss the reassson for our exissstence. There isss no need to thank or apologize to me… although, it isss true that thisss processs took quite sssome time. Tyrean-sssama, would you like to take a break?"
"No, there is no need for that. I am not affected by negative statuses like fatigue."
{No I won't dare come close to my private chamber if you're going to be there, watching me like I'm the most fascinating thing in existence.}
"Thank you for your kindnesss, but it would be unthinkable for me to rest while my Massster worked. With the aid of the magic item that you graciousssly lent usss, I am not affected by fatigue either. So, pleassse allow me to stay by your ssside until the end, Tyrean-sssama."
After agreeing to Tasha's request, he proceeded to study ways to control the mirror. After another hour or two, he finally discovered how to properly control the mirror.
Tyrean smiled in satisfaction, and began his search for a suitable location.
{Ah! Defence! I need to protect myself and my Guardian.}
With the help of multiple spell scrolls, Tyrean enhance the vision range of the mirror by an epic proportion, gave it the ability to look through barriers, and see through illusions and invisibility.
Not forgetting to protect himself and his Guardian, Tyrean applied multiple defensive buffs onto him and Tasha, just in case he might trigger a traps.
Satisfied with his preparations, Tyrean official start his search.
And within minutes, he managed to find an image that looks fitting to build the fortress.
It's close to the sea and quite far from the nearby seaside town. Additionally, it's seems to be an isolated area.
Taking a closer look, Tyrean saw that the area was untouched. The place has close to zero interference, like a pure virgin forest.
Finding it slightly suspicious, he used a spell scroll to check if there's a dangerous creature residing in that place.
When the spell confirmed that there is none, Tyrean sigh in relief.
It also raises a question:
{Why is that?} He still finds it suspicious that this place has no interference from the outside world.
Tyrean began to inspect the surrounding and found out that the terrain surrounding this location pose a great. The safest route to reach this place is via flight.
Seeing that the location meets all the criteria that he is looking for, Tyrean issued his command.
"Tasha, forge a connection between me with Hiron. I want to show them this place that I have found."
[x]
[Tyrean-zama, Zemiramiz haz vegan de conztruction.]
It has been four hours since he has chosen the location.
Four hours was enough time to summon additional mercenary summons to assist her, establish a ward array to the chosen location with enough protection to withstand against a full frontal assault, prepare spell scrolls and magic items, and a lot more.
He even gave Semiramis his last World Class Item, just in case. He is not planning of losing a servant this early, nor waste precious limited resource— cash items, and time.
Tyrean went as far as telling her to add the crystal's ability in consideration, when building her fortress.
With the help of Mikolaj and Semiramis, they made a good plan against hostile forces. And upon hearing the finer details of their plan, Tyrean decided to go along.
According to their plan, there will be four groups for this operation.
The first group consist of dozens Shadow Demons, four teams of Eight Edge Assassins, and eight Hanzos. These mercenaries are very good at staying out of sight and are perfect to stand and keep watch for any hostile force or infiltrators
They are station at the outer most region of the property.
The secondary group, is a group comprised of ninja mercenary summons. Their task it to help the sentinels apprehend spotted enemies. If capture is not possible, then they are to terminate them.
This group are stationed at the outer area.
The third group is placed in the inner area and made only by Altos' clones.
If in case, their enemies were able to defeat the mercenary summons, Altos' clones will deal with them. If those clones weren't unable to capture or kill them off. Then they should buy enough time for Semiramis and Tasha to fall back.
The last group is comprised of Semiramis, Tasha, and Mikolaj.
Semiramis, obviously must be there to build the fortress. Tasha who will be responsible for communication. His unique ability will greatly help in relaying information faster, thus he has to be on-site. Mikolaj, on the other hand, will stay hidden in the shadows, observing the whole operation.
He was given the order not to interfere, unless it's extreme necessary to do so.
"Good. Continue observing." Tyrean answered.
[Underztood, Tyrean-zama.]
Upon hearing Mikolaj confirmation, Tyrean cuts off the spell.
As much as he want to watch Semiramis built the fortress, he curved the urged to do so. He has more important things to focus on. Like summoning new servants.
He wanted the fortress enchanted before they take flight. And it would be faster if they have two Master Enchanters on board.
Without rising from his seat, Tyrean cast a spell:
"[Teleport]."
[x]
Upon arrival, Tyrean immediately opened his connection with his WCI. Once the connection was established, Tyrean began inputting details for his new servant.
{Name: Gemi
Appearance: looks like a child with pure-white in complexion that has a salmon pink tuft of hair. He wears pure-white clothing resembling that of a jester's: with extremely long sleeves, double-pointed hats and spiked riffs: pom-pom button line the front of their costume, as well as decorating the tips of their hats, ruffs and shoes. He also wears a paper mask that completely covers his face.
Job Class: focused on long lasting enchantment or charms, preferably, permanent ones.
Racial Class: preferably, a race that could exist indefinitely.
Karma: Neutral
Bios—}
Tyrean continued writing every detail he could provide about his new servant.
With a very short list of Master Enchanters, Tyrean decided that it's best just to make his own. He'll be relying on his WCI's ability to fill in the gap, and optimized his will-be-servant.
Tyrean went through the details he had inputted multiple times. He wanted to ensure that he did not make any mistake. After all, a mistake will cost him one [Shards of Time] and a failed work.
{Everything seems to be okay.} Tyrean thought as he made his final proofreading.
Upon finishing, he allowed the construct to begin its work.
As soon as he does, the construct informed him that it will take three years, ten months, and a day to make this servant.
When he was how much time it will take Tyrean merely raised one of his eyebrow slightly.
He was no longer bother how long it will take for him to make a servant. Well, at least for now. With that cash item, production time will not be an issue.
Tyrean took one [Shards of Time] from his inventory. After securing his connection with his WCI, Tyrean crushed the hourglass.
DING!
With a pssshhh-ing sound, the construct opened a panel large enough for the servant to exit it.
The sound of a jingling bells, a child humming, and skipping could be heard echoing from within the construct.
Not a second later, Tyrean came face to face with the servant he had created.
Like Semiramis, once Jeh made eye contact to Tyrean, he immediately when down on one knee and proceeded to deliver his pledge to Tyrean. All the while, offering his undying loyalty towards Tyrean.
"In accordance to your summons, I, Gemi, present himself to the Master. This body, my fate, everything that I am and shall be is yours to command."
Tyrean was having a hard time taking Gemi's pledge seriously. His childish high pitch voice contradicts his serious demure.
Using a powerful identification spell, Tyrean saw Gemi's character's sheet in full detail.
Just like what he was expecting, his WCI filled all the gaps that he had left. Gemi gained access to a unique job class called Grandmaster of Defensive Enchantment. All the while, making him an almost immortal being.
As the name of his unique job class states, most of Gemi's enchantment are focused on placing long lasting reinforcements and bans onto structures than anything else.
{He's very squishy.} He thought upon seeing Gemi's stats is about 450. Most of which are dumped into his mana pool and his speciality, while the rest has an average of 10.
{It's worth it though.} Tyrean happily supplied.
Because of Gemi's very specific class and build, it will take an equally specific class or something beyond it, to breakthrough his enchantment. Hence, breaking through the enchanted fortress will become close to impossible.
"Raise your head Jeh."
With crisp swish, Gemi met his gaze.
"First of all. I welcome you into the world Jeh. And please call me Tyrean. Calling me by my full name is too stifling."
"I hear and obey, Tyrean-sama."
Tyrean nodded.
"That's good to hear. Now then, I'm quite curious to about enchantment. Would you be willing to indulge my curiosity?"
Gemi perked up like a puppy and happily indulges his Master's curiosity.
[x]
Gemi was able to satisfy his curiosity about enchantment.
And just like he envisioned, Gemi could lay permanent enchantment to the fortress. Unlike Semiramis, who would need specific materials to create her fortress, Gemi does not.
Though, he'll only be needing YGGDRASIL gold to enchant something.
The only drawback of Gemi's permanent enchantments would be, it's very expensive. They estimated that it would cost him a billion or two to completely enchant the fortress akin to an unconquerable one.
Tyrean did not even flinched when he heard the price he'll pay. Instead, he was very happy when it was confirmed that he could make their fortress into something close to invulnerable.
His excitement didn't last though. He immediately pulled back when he recalled that he'll be needing to consult his Seneschals before he decided.
In the end, he told Gemi that such project will be on hold until further notice as well as his reasoning.
[x]
"Erm, Gemi, since the fortress's construction is undergoing, I have no task to delegate to you. Which means, you'll have a free time. What would you like to do?"
"Then may be allowed to attend to Tyrean-sama's needs?"
"Yes. Yes, you may."
"Thank you granting this lowly servant this wonderful opportunity, Tyrean-sama."
"It's fine."
Gemi nodded, before taking a step back.
Tyrean was having a conflicting feeling when he saw Gemi was taking his task very so seriously. He immediately regretted that he agreed without a second thought to Gemi's suggestion.
To him, it felt like he's a shady business owner who had persuaded a child as one of his labourer.
{No—} he mentally shook his head in disagreement to that thought of his, {— Gemi's not a child. In fact, Gemi's about a century old.} Tyrean reasoned.
With his conscience pacified, he turned his attention back to his WCI.
When he was about to start, he jerked back. He then issued instruction to Jeh.
"Gemi, I'll be starting the servant creation. While I'm sure that there will be no interruptions, I will still remind you that I must not be interrupted. Understood?"
"Yes, Tyrean-sama. I understand."
Tyrean then addressed the hidden Hanzos.
"The same goes to you, Hanzos. Am I clear?"
"Hai!"
"Good. Now then, I shall begin." Says Tyrean as links himself to his WCI.
[x]
Using Gemi's appearance as a template, Tyrean made another level 100 servant and named it, Mini. If Gemi and Mini were to stand next to each other, you wouldn't be able to tell which one is which. After all, he intended Gemi and Mini to treat each other as their identical twin.
The only way to differentiate them would be the color of their tuft. While Gemi has salmon pink tuft of hair, Mini has light blue tuft of hair.
Like his brother, Mini falls in the same racial tree as him.
As for his job class, Mini, like his brother, was made to be an equality impressive enchanter. But unlike his brother, he utilizes his enchantment for offensive purposes. Specifically, he utilized his enchantment to make deadly traps.
Using Nazarick as a footnote, traps would make a great addition to the fortress' overall defensive capabilities. Also, he needed someone like Mini to transform the false fortresses Semiramis would make into a death trap.
After inspecting everything Mini's has to offer, Tyrean asked Mini the same question he once asked his brother. And like the most natural thing in the world, Mini volunteered to attend to him as well.
Unable to say no, Tyrean allowed him.
{Now that I have two Enchanters, I should be summoning his very first Seneschal.}
He badly needed some help managing his increasing force. Especially now that the twins have been created.
Haaaaaa, huuuuuu.
Once again, he opened his link to his WCI. And like what he had before, Tyrean began inputting the details for his Overseer.
After giving it its final proofreading, Tyrean pulled out a [Shards of Time] from his inventory and held it in his hand. Once, the hourglass is secured, he allowed the construct to begin.
The moment his WCI began working, he immediately crushed the cash item.
CRUNCH!
As soon as the miniature hourglass shattered, the construct, like before, instantaneously completed the production.
DING!
PSSSSSSHHHH…
Like what had happened before a panel opened with a loud hissing sound.
Tap— the sound of footstep came from his WCI.
The sound of someone walking could be heard coming from the construct.
Tap— his servant was coming out of the construct.
Few hours ago, Tyrean finally made a decision who will be the first Overseer he'll be making.
Tap— his servant took another step.
His decision was based from the overall versatility of the fictional character and their moral compass. Though, he could edit those, he decided to retain those information.
Tap— and another. This time the sound was louder.
He is quite afraid that it might mess them up badly. And then he'll end up dealing with another Albedo.
Tap— Tyreancould now see the silhouette of his servant.
With that in mind, Tyrean was down to two candidates. But after going over the criteria once more, he finally made his decision.
Tap.
Finally, his servant finally exits the construct.
Tyrean saw that he is about 178 cm tall. As for his body mass, his servant is quite lean.
His new servant clothing consist of tight dark purple with golden stripes, long wrapped sleeves, and a frilled white cravat.
His outfit combines Victorian fashion with that of a sleek bodysuit; worn over it is a black and gold cloak with crimson spandex lining the inside and an enormous black cape encircling the head.
He also wears a spiky black indigo mask, completely hides his face.
The mask appears opaque from the outside but is actually transparent from the inside. Like that of those transition lenses.
His servant elegantly reached for his mask and unclasped it.
Click.
Upon hearing the sound, his servant removed the mask, revealing his face.
He was a handsome black hair, amethyst eyed young man. And by the looks of it, he's about 21 years of age.
Without further ado, the man went on one knee and began his pledge.
"In accordance to your summons, I, Lelouch vi Britannia, present himself to the Master. This body, my fate, everything that I am and shall be is yours to command."
(A/N: Lelouch's appearance description was taken from codegeass wiki)
There is no doubt that the fictional character Lelouch vi Britannia is the perfect candidate as his Seneschal. The man is highly intelligent, has a very deep understanding of warfare, and cold hearted against enemies.
Lelouch fits all the criteria Tyrean had made.
As of the moment, Tyrean badly needs an intelligent Seneschal with a profound knowledge when it comes to art of war.
It's not that he is planning to fight the whole new world. He needed the help of an expert to make the fortress unconquerable as possible.
With that being said, Tyrean made full use of his eidetic memory and gathered all information he could find under the strategy and added all those information into his Seneschal's bios along with the original Lelouch's characteristic, philosophy, and personality.
Seeing his Lelouch kneeling before him, Tyrean eagerly used a spell to see what his Lelouch could do.
Once again, Tyrean relied on his WCI to fill in those missing gaps. After all, he has a very limited knowledge of YGGDRASIL class system.
{Ah!}
[x]
It should have taken Semiramis three days to make the fortress. But because they took Lelouch's suggestions for modifications, the construction took six days to finish. Seven, if they included planning.
Like what he had expected, creating Lelouch was a fine addition to his growing manpower.
The man considered multiple facets of the situation, before making a plan. And when Tyrean said multiple facets, he means not less than a hundred scenario.
Tyrean left like it was torture. Sitting there, listening, reviewing different convoluted proposals Lelouch had made for more than six hours.
In the end, it was worth it.
With the help of Gemi and Mini, the flying fortress defence and offensive capabilities was raised to a whole new level. Semiramis, who evaluated it, said that the fortress power was upped by 150%.
"After this, I'll begin summoning more servants." Tyrean muttered before sinking into his luxurious bath.
[x]
Fifteenth day in the New World.
The Throne Room, Hanging Garden of Babylon.
Hiron — who was on duty for the day — faithfully trailed behind Tyrean as he entered the room, fashionably late of course.
Speaking of fashion, Tyrean was equipped what he considered the most fashionable yet formal looking Equipment Avatar that he has.
There are many individual kneeing here, to show their unwavering loyalty.
Nobody in this place moved a muscle, and it was so quiet that even the sound of their breathing could not be heard. As if the place was filled with nothing but hyper realistic sculptures. Because of the deafening silence, the sound of Tyrean and Hiron's footsteps became too loud.
Tyrean ascended the stairs and sat on the throne. Hiron remained at the foot throne, he went in line with his fellow Guardians.
Tyrean silently surveyed the throne room from where he was seated.
Semiramis modified the throne room to suit his need. Rather than being at the center of the room, the throne was placed at the furthest side of the room. Allowing him to view his servants better.
Seeing all his new servants present, Tyrean couldn't help to feel very satisfied with himself.
For three days straight, Tyrean had been creating servant after servant non-stop. By the end of his seclusion, he made 40 level 100 servants. Forty four if he included Semiramis, Gemi, Mini, and Lelouch.
They looked quite majestic when he watched them from on high. It was like looking at a room filled with beautiful beings. Tyrean could not help but to silently praised those character designers for taking time to make them. He is also sending his apology for stealing their creative work.
As he looked again, it was not just the servants who were gather here. The Throne Room also contained many high-levelled mercenaries that he had summoned.
Tyrean finally noticed that Altos' clones were not present. He could only assume that those were responsible for security.
Doing a mental calculation, Tyrean was shocked to know that Altos now has 80 clones.
{Goodness. If he keeps using the ring's effect, he might produce enough clone to take over the world.} Imagining that scenario, Tyrean muscled down a smile. {I should tell him to stop cloning himself once he reach a hundred and twenty.}
{…} Tyrean thought about it for a second and concluded.
{World Class Items are too OP.} After deciding to discuss the matter with Altos later, Tyrean slowly addressed his subordinates.
"Raise your heads."
In perfect synchrony, all his servants' gaze landed onto him.
"Firstly, I would like to apologize for my actions for the last few days."
Tyrean forgo any interaction during his seclusion. Although, he is really unapologetic for what he did, he still spoke those words. After all, it was merely a pleasantry.
After all, his seclusion allowed him to learn something that changed his opinion about his WCI.
"The first phase of our operation has been achieved. With that being said, we will now proceed to next step."
Tyrean stopped his speech and observe his subjects.
"If anyone has any objections, rise now and let your concerns be heard!"
Nobody spoke out in opposition. Hiron, who was given the designation of Head Guardian, was all smiles as he replied:
"Panginoon hindi naming pinapangahas na kwestyunin and iyong kalooban. Ikaw, Panginoon, ay susundan po ka namin hanggang sa dulo ng mundo. Sapagkat kami ay ang iyong pinakatapat at debotong mga tagapaglingkod. (We dare not question your will, Tyrean-sama. We shall follow you to the end of the world. For we have pledged our undying and unyielding loyalty to you, Tyrean T. Photel-sama.)"
Shortly after Hiron's declaration, his Guardians shouted as one:
"All glory to Tyrean T. Photel! Our fearsome ruler, Tyrean T. Photel-sama! We shall give ourselves completely to you!"
"Long live Tyrean T. Photel! Our fearsome ruler, Tyrean T. Photel-sama! All shall know of your greatness!"
[x]
As he basked in the praise of his subordinates, Tyrean thought:
{Ah, it just got real doesn't it? Oh well, things are now in motion. It would be unwise to stop now.}
"Then—
Tyrean paused here and looked out at everyone. The subordinates before him had serious, stern looks on their faces.
"—Let us proceed."
Closing his eyes, Tyrean quickly shape shifted into one of his many forms.
In less than a second, Tyrean became a tall lean man of black colouration but without the slightest sign of negroid features: wholly devoid of either hair of beard, and wearing as his only garment a shapeless robe of some heavy fabric. His feet were indistinguishable because of his pooling robe.
He then pulled out a staff fashioned to look like a gentleman's cane from his inventory.
With it, Tyrean began casting various spells.
"[Arcane Overdrive], [Bless of Magic Caster], [Greater Full Potential], [Greater Resistance], [Penetrate Up], [Infinity Wall], [Magic Boost], [Draconic Power], [Greater Magic Shield], [Greater Luck], [Intelligence Boost], [Focus Spell] —"
This seemingly endless stream of spell surrounded Tyrean's body.
When finally finished casting all offensive and defensive buffs that he has in his arsenal. He went on and activated the best defensive buff his [Virtues] has to offer.
[Invulnerability].
Feeling that his preparation is complete, Tyrean gripped the staff tightly, and rapped it on the ground.
As soon as he does so, a gigantic dome-shaped magic circle appeared around Tyrean, extending about ten meters away from him.
The magic circle shone a brilliant violet, and translucent diagrams of characters and symbols appeared. These images changed ceaselessly, with kaleidoscopic speed, differing from second to second.
Tyrean did not bother to use his [Shards of Time] to instantly cast the super tier spell. He only have 24 of those left. He would rather use those in making a level 100 servant than that of instant super tier spell.
His thought process was interrupted when the magic circle intensified, indicating that the super tier spell was ready to be cast.
Tyrean excitedly yelled.
"My servants, you who are willing to follow me to the end, let us go and begin our brand new adventure. Super Tier spell — [Programmed Reality]!"
As soon as the spell has taken its effect, Tyrean ordered Semiramis to fly the fortress into the sea.
{Into a brand new adventure.} He excitedly thought.
