Lucy was anxious. The beginning of university had well started. Her courses were as she expected them and she had talk to several students. They seemed sympathic and she was sure she would become friends with many of them. The invitation to the party was a proof of her successful integration. Nonetheless, while she was walking in the street of that chic neighbourhood in direction of the place of the party, she began to doubt of herself. Would the people find her interesting and funny ? She knew that she could be a little childish sometimes, like her sister could not stop telling her. Susan was sometimes harsh with her little sister ! No, it was not possible, she had grown up, she was already 18 years old after all. And it was not the first time she had lived this period of time : years ago in Narnia, she had already reached this age and everybody had found her very mature. Yes, it would be the same tonight, she would have interesting conversation and meet inspiring people !

With a reassured step, she reached the porch of the number that was indicated on the invitation card. The porch was a little bit impressive. She entered. The porch led to a large patio full of trees and bushes. The trees were illuminated by numerous small lamps. It gave the impression of a starry sky. A gravel path was lined with colorful flowers. It smelled good. I have almost the impression that I have left the city, thought Lucy. She went to the background of the patio where shiny lights and noisy laughs indicated the place of festivities.

"Hi Lucy ! It's great that you could have come, please enter and take a drink ! said a boy that she admitted to be the host."

There was plenty of people inside. She was only in the entrance but already a dozen of people was chatting loudly. She recognized a few students, the blond girl of that English class and the weird boy who tried to connect to her by talking of spiders…. After strolling through the first rooms of this oversized house, trying to make her way through the crowd, she reached the main place. She was impressed by all the agitation. There was a music band that was playing trendy music. A buffet consisted of all kinds of appetizers and drinks. People were chatting, dancing or just enjoying the little concert. After a few minutes of contemplation, she felt a little bit alone. She took a glass of something, she did not succeed in finding what it was. Well, she had to confess that she was not very used to that type of drinks. Once, Peter made her taste an old Whisky. She remembered that she had hated it ! She put the glass back. She stayed there for a long time, waiting. Was someone going to talk to her at a moment ? Despite her staring at every people, she did not find a person that she could have easily talk to. Many people seemed to have drunk a little bit too much, they did not behave normally. She did not feel at ease in that world that looked like too much to the one of the adults. Of course, she was almost one but at this moment, she lacked of confidence. She only wanted to be at home with her mom and her siblings and to play to one of these so funnies games that they used to play to. She had almost taken the decision to leave the party when suddenly a silence imposed itself in all the room. The music band began to play a smooth song, like a lullaby. In fact, only one musician was active. While playing the guitar, he was singing with a rocking voice. The song seemed to bewitched the crowd. Nonetheless, after less than a minute, once the surprise of that unexpected song vanished, people started again to focus on their conversation. But Lucy was still listening, with so many attention. Something had intrigued her. She was concentrated to understand why. That song, this rhythm remembered her old times, very old. What was it ? Insights of peaceful moments, warm ones appeared in her mind. Was the period when her father was still alive and used to tell her stories before going to bed, was she thinking in these holidays with her mother, Peter, Susan and Edmund after the war was ended ? It had been marvellous and joyful times ! But no, it was not that. That song was linked to a deeper souvenir. And suddenly, she knew ! It had been so long since she thought at this period of her life, this period so intense but simultaneously so painful to remember knowing that it was a finished era. Everything came at her : Tumnus's cottage, during the starry nights while waiting for the great battle, and finally in the castle surrounded by all her friends. She had heard this song so many times during her adventures in the world of Narnia !

As soon as the musicians stopped playing to make a break, Lucy rushed to the guitarist. She had lost all her shyness, she wanted to know. How was it possible that that song from the far grasslands of Narnia could be sung by a mere Londoner inside an insignificant party ? She overwhelmed him of questions :

"Oh hi ! Thank you ! Most of the people used to tell me I should not sing that song in that kind of party, they say it break the mood. But it's one of my favourite so I do it anyway ! Where does that song come from ? Well, it is a tune that a former student taught me two years ago. He told me I absolutely had to learn it, it was like a transmission of tradition of the music club of the university. No, no there is no link with that…. area, how do you call it ? Narnia ? I don't know that place, sorry.

Lucy was disappointed. The party had almost been exciting at last. She resigned to the fact that it was a coincidence. After all, there is no such thing as an infinite number of musical tunes and that song could exist in the both worlds without any link. Well, it would be a great story to tell to her siblings ! She quickly moved on. She had to take the opportunity to be introduced to someone to socialize a little bit. Why wouldn't she keep making conversation with this boy ? For lack of knowing Narnia, he could be nice !

"My name is Tum. I'm a third-year student, maybe you have already seen me at the concert at the beginning of the year. I'm used to playing at concert with my band. Oh by the way, here is Alan one of my best friend and one of the most important person of the band. Hey Alan ! come over here, we have one more fan !"

They were both very sympathic. They talked together about everything and everything in the world. Tum was very funny, spontaneous and above all he seemed to be simple, he was not materialist like many of the students of the university. Alan was very wise maybe because he was a little bit older. He had some firm opinions but for each of them, he was able to give many arguments to convince his audience. He was quite impressive.

Finally it was a great party. Nonetheless, something was tapping Lucy. She couldn't stop thinking in Narnia and that lullaby Tum sang. During the evening, several details had accumulated leading her to a theory, an absurd one would have say her sister Susan but Lucy wanted to believe in it. First, there was that song. Alone, it could have been only a coincidence, indeed. But there was more. Their names. She had no tilted when Tum introduced himself, the convergence came in her mind when Alan joined them. Tum, Alan. Tum, Tumnus. Alan, Aslan. A second coincidence ? It was harder to believe it ! Alan had something that reminded him of the majestic lion. His hair, so blonde, looked like a mane. He had eyes that gave him a look that Lucy had already seen in her dearest friend Aslan. Were both of them sent in her world in order to send her a message ? Maybe, Narnia was in danger and they needed her help. In that case, they would have been more direct to take contact with her. In that case, she thought that she could try to ask more explicit questions in order to force them to reveal their real identities. No, they would take her for a fool if she was wrong. Or maybe, like her siblings and her, Tumnus and Aslan had founded a portal, they crossed it, were transformed but amnesic. No, it was not possible. How would they have done in that world so different from Narnia ? Tum and Alan were so integrated and so at ease. Lucy was lost. One last event during that evening was going to lose her for good.

She was still with Tum and Aslan and other of their friends. They were talking of the next concert that they would give. They were very enthusiastic. When suddenly, a high-pitched scream disturbed the conversation and all the people in the room. Aslan turned around to the scene of the incident and he patted his head against his hand.

"Her again ! What else has she invented to get herself noticed ? exclaimed Aslan. All this ruckus for a simple inverted glass, I knew her more inventive ! You see Lucy, that girl with her long hair and her face so skinny, Aslan was pointing at her to show to Lucy, she is quite a nuisance, you should not become friend with her. She was said that she have betrayed most of her friends, that she is not a trustworthy person. In addition, she is always so haughty, she never smiles. In one word, she is so… cold !"

Lucy almost choked. So cold, what a joke ! And then, they were going to say that she had been the worst queen of Narnia and that she had reduced all the population of Narnia in slavery ! It could not be possible. While she was trying to reason herself, this detail made her dive back into her theory. They wanted to run her into madness ! And her name must be Jadis, or something like that ! exclaimed internally Lucy.

"Hey Jodie, are you taking part in a highest shout contest? You're on your way to winning the prize for the most ridiculous scream ! shout loudly Tum."

Almost. How was she going to solve that mystery without looking like for a crazy person ? She would have to talk with that Jodie whatever mean she could be. She might be more direct than the two others. But for tonight, Lucy had enough emotions. She did not want anymore to be confused in order to only enjoy the end of the party. Tum and Aslan were very sympathic. Whoever they were, Lucy wanted to be friend with them. Their mysterious link to Narnia made them special. The party ended early in the morning and Lucy, still excited by the new encounters, fell asleep quickly once she came back to her home.

Two days after that party, Lucy met Tum and Alan at the university. Since the party, she had thought for long times about her theory. She could not resign to give it up. Her instinct commanded her to investigate in order to be sure not to miss anything. It was not in her personality not to follow it. Years ago, when she discovered alone the wardrobe and the world of Narnia hidden behind, she had not retreated in the face of the unknown and had persevered to prove to her brothers that she wasn't just talking nonsense. And so she decided to do everything she could to resolve all of these mysteries even if it would take long and that she would have to conduct her investigation subtly. One way to succeed was to get closer to Tum and Alan. In any case, she would have become friend with them, they were so nice !

It turned out that Lucy and Tum had a language course in common. Then, they had lunch with Alan. As an older student, Alan had so many tips and anecdotes about university and its life. He told them love affair between two professors, how to visit the underground which, according to him, contained many treasures. Tum talked about music, his future projects. He was very passionate. Lucy, compared to them, had far less interesting things to say, her life was less exciting but she succeeded in making them laugh. Maybe, her naive remark and her ingenuous air affected them. In short, Lucy felt great. Above all, she had the impression of finding Tumnus's and Aslan's characters traits in Tum and Alan and that gave her hope to be reunited with her old friends.

While they were entering the building for students, Lucy spotted the girl, Jodie they had seen at the party. As a third lead to solve her investigation, she had to speak to her, even if the idea of getting closer of that witch – well, for the moment, this reality was only in her mind – disgusted her. At worst, if Lucy's theory was right, Jodie or the witch, Lucy did not know how to call her, would not be able to attack her here in the middle of London, surrounded by many witnesses. Lucy was hesitating. She continued to discuss with Tum and Alan. But Jodie was still there and Lucy could not stop starring at her over Tum's shoulder. She had to go. She apologized to her two friends and came closer to Jodie. She introduced herself and asked her questions.

" I don't understand your questions, what are you searching for ? said Jodie blowing. Do I know Tum and Alan for a long time ? Not particularly, in fact, I try to avoid them, she added with disdain. What did they tell you about me ? That I am a naughty girl ? You can think that if you want but I will tell you just one thing : you shoudn't hang out with them any longer."

What an unpleasant girl ! She would not be able to get any more information out of her. Nonetheless, her character was in line with that of the queen. And her face ! She had in her look something so icy ! Lucy would ask Tum and Alan maybe they would be able to give her interesting information about Jodie. She had to find other coincidences in order to support her thoughts. But for the moment, she only wanted to enjoy the afternoon with Alan and Tum and so she joined them again. Oddly, they seemed worried that Lucy talked to Jodie. Alan even went quickly to see Jodie to talk to her, they seemed to be arguing. One more thing strange thought Lucy.

Lucy was excited. Tum and Alan had invited her to a party. This time it would be in a smaller house but they guaranteed her that she would enjoy. It had been two weeks since she had met them. She had learnt to discover her personalities, the ways they used to act. The more she observed them and the more the observations strengthened her theory. They had to be Tumnus and Aslan, surely reincarnated, but she was almost sure that their minds were in the bodies of these two boys. However, she still had questions. Why were they here ? And how did they get here, students at university, surely amnesic about their life in Narnia ? The more time went by, the more she said to herself that one day she would expose them directly her thoughts. She wandered if she was not going to do it that night.

At the party, Lucy enjoyed the music, danced a little bit. She was at ease surrounded by her friends ! Tum even allowed her to play his guitar. It was a disaster but she had good times. She had not forgotten her objective. At the middle of the night, Tum wanted to show her a special place of the house. He had discovered it during a precedent party. He brought her until a tiny garden. The place looked like a jungle : walls were lined with ivy and other climbing vines, the ground was full of bushes. Lucy enjoyed the enchantment of the place. It remembered her the gardens of Cair Paravel. She said to herself that it could be the perfect place to tackle the tricky subject. Maybe, the atmosphere would evoke him souvenirs.

"You wanted to tell me something ? It just so happens that I do too ! I know that we have known each other for a short time but…."

While he was speaking, Tum suddenly got closer to Lucy and tried to kiss her. Lucy rejected him. What had happened ? She did not want to tell him that. Tum tried again, but this time, he did it violently preventing Lucy to move. He began to touch all the part of her bodies. Lucy wanted to resist but she could not. She could only sob because she had pain and she had fear. Pain because she realized that she was wrong since the beginning. Fear because she finally did not know who was that Tum and was afraid of what he could do to her. She had let herself be carried away by her story of coincidences. Reality had caught up with her far too abruptly.

Noise came from the door and saved her from her ordeal. Someone entered in the garden. It was Jodie. She understood directly, she got rid of Tum and took Lucy in her arms in order to console her.
