'It would be nice if we can get some backup now!' SG- 1 is on a planet controlled by the Goa'uld. It would be a simple mission. Just get intel and be gone. They would go, gather intel and go home, no big deal. Easy. The kind of mission any one of them could fulfil in their sleep.
Of course it wasn't as easy as they assumed. Somehow they always have to do things the hard way. This time however it surprised them that it was Teal'c blowing their cover and go berserk.
Here is what happened: It was a simple mission. Go to P5S-117, gather intel on the Goa'uld there and the Jaffa presence and come home. DON'T BE SEEN! And that was the tricky bit of the mission and it had eventually blown their cover. A Goa'uld they didn't know lived on the planet. She was of course terrorizing the native inhabitants and being insanely rich. Nothing weird so far. But then they had spotted a cage with children near her pyramid. Still nothing very weird at that point. That was the moment when Teal'c spotted a young boy with a Goa'uld tattoo on his forehead. A snake. Which WAS weird because that was de mark of Apophis and this Goa'uld wasn't Apophis by far. But then some Jaffa appeared wearing the snake head armour. And the female Goa'uld appeared on the balcony with a man next to her. And that WAS Apophis…. And the boy, who was dragged from the cage towards the pyramid, apparently was Rya'c, son of Teal'c. And that was the moment when all hell broke loose.
Sam looks around her searching for more secure cover than the rocks she hid behind at the moment. Their friend, Teal'c, had just disappeared down the road towards the pyramid trying to save his son. That is an absurd notion on its own since there are enough Jaffa between them and Rya'c to kill them a hundred times over. 'It's like our last mission all over again', Sam grumbles angrily. The last mission resulted in her capture and a few weeks of questionable captivity. Though she has mixed feelings towards that Tok'ra Sam feels not too excited to go through all that again. And of course this time her captor would be an actual Goa'uld and that's not a very pleasant thought. The captain just wants to make a run for the cover of some bushes when she hears a staff weapon activating behind her. She stops dead in her tracks and turns around slowly. 'You'll make a fine slave for our new lord and lady', the Jaffa says while smiling wickedly. Sam wants to shoot the man so badly that she wishes she didn't lost her gun near the Stargate, but she is defenceless. It happens so quickly that the woman is still looking surprised at the corpse before realizing she is not alone. 'This planet has a Tok'ra operative in one of the villages. Once she saw you coming through the gate she contacted our base', a very familiar voice says behind her. She spins around and find herself looking at Martouf and Lantash with the latter obviously in control. 'Let's find your companions and we can make a plan to get your pet Jaffa.'
'He is NOT our pet Jaffa, Marty!', O'Neill fumes furiously. The colonel dropped the nickname 'snake' for the two men and decided it was easier to pick on the weaker host than the formidable symbiote. 'My name is Martouf', the Tok'ra states calmly while he eyes the pacing human. 'I'll decided how to call you Marty. And Teal'c is our friend and a valuable member of SG-1. How the hell do we get him out of that pyramid?' The humans and the Tok'ra sit in a silence for a while pondering over that question. 'I think I can be of assistance', a female appears from the trees and walks apprehensively into the small clearing. 'I have been an operative on this planet for a long time and I have been able to establish some kind of understanding with the Queen. That's how she likes people to refer to her. If I can get in and you guys have a plan than I can tell your Jaffa friend somehow.'
Daniel looks through a book he carried with him in his backpack. 'It is actually rather interesting', he speaks to no one in particular. O'Neill rolls his eyes and says with dishonest honesty: 'Gee Daniel, we're all very interested in what you have to tell us. Please do enlighten us.' The archaeologist doesn't notice the sarcasm which is dripping off those words and continues enthusiastically. 'The Goa'uld we face here is actually impersonating Iabet the goddess of fertility and rebirth. Which assumes she is very much about procreation but how does that work with Goa'uld?' This last question is meant for Lantash and he furrows in eyebrows in surprise. 'This means probably that Apophis and Iabet are intending to create a so-called Harcesis. That is a child which contain all the knowledge of the Goa'uld from their genetic memory. It is prohibited among the System Lords and will be met with extreme violence.' Daniel looks up from his book. 'Why would they want this child? If they are going to get executed, why risk it?' It's the newcomer who answers his question. 'It is rumoured that the ancient host of Apophis is finally dying and if he wants to survive and still remain an important member of the System Lords he needs a new host. Perhaps this is his way of creating a superior host for himself. But that being said the capture of the sholva Teal'c will have put them all on high alert and perhaps they will go into hiding. If so we miss a unique opportunity to deal a serious blow to the Goa'uld.'
'I'm sorry, but who are you people again and why should we trust you?', O'Neill throws his hand up in the air as in defeat.
'We are of the Tok'ra and we fight against the Goa'uld', Lantash states.
'Yes we know that', the colonel spits sarcastically. 'But who is she? They? Them? The snake and host? Can we trust them?'
'My name is Ziriga and my host is Elea. We have been Tok'ra operatives for a little over 30 years. You can trust us. We are very reliable.'
'Says you, but we don't know your bosses and what they say! We don't even know if the Tok'ra are real!'
While they are bickering Sam is looking at the woman with a concentrated look on her face. With Martouf and Lantash it just came but only after she touched the necklace AND they had a very special bond apparently. Trying to remember if Jolinar knew these women is like trying to catch smoke with your bare hands. It is almost impossible. Sam is about to give up and relaxes a little bit when a memory hits her. 'They are Ziriga and Elea', the captain mutters while she slumps down on a log. 'Jolinar knew them and left a faint memory of them behind.'
'Okay, if my captain trusts you then that's enough for me. Let's get a plan and get going.'
