Sequel to "Amy over the pond" when visiting scientist Sheldon meets up with Professor Amy Farrah Fowler at Cambridge University.

########################

In "Amy over the pond" Amy never gets back together with Sheldon after they break up. Instead she marries Dave the Englishman and they move across the pond to London with Amy's work. Amy and Dave get divorced and she moves to Cambridge University. 10 years later Sheldon is a visiting scientist at Cambridge when he meets Amy...

After their totally unexpected reunion Sheldon and Amy were both happy just to restart their relationship as friends. Amy showed Sheldon around the wonderful university town of Cambridge. They would usually do something fun together at weekends. Sheldon was a visiting scholar at Wolfson College, Amy was a fellow of Wolfson, Amy took Sheldon to a formal college dinner, this gave Sheldon a chance to meet scholars in all sorts of different academic subjects from all over the world. It was all rather different to Southern California but Sheldon was glad to have a friendly face to help him get used to this strange university town.

One Saturday in October Sheldon and Amy were walking through the centre of Cambridge. Amy was pointing out some of the ancient colleges of the University of Cambridge.

"This Sheldon is King's College, its chapel is one of the most famous buildings of the university, certainly one of the biggest tourist traps."

"I thought you worked at King's College in London?"

"I did, there is a King's College as part of the University of London, it was founded 200 years ago by King George IV. This King's College is a college of the University of Cambridge, just like Wolfson but it is a lot older, richer and grander. It is nearly 600 years old, founded by King Henry VI before Columbus went on his voyage to America."

"So not the same King."

"No Sheldon, this English history can be rather confusing. Do you want to go and have a look at King's College Chapel, as members of the university we don't have to pay to enter."

"No thank you Amy, you know my views on religion."

"Yes, I remember and I understand."

Two days later, after Amy had spent the afternoon at a meeting at Wolfson College, she met up with Sheldon for a cup of tea.

"Hi Sheldon, finished with my college fellow duties for another week. I get paid extra for being a college fellow but that means I have to help run the college. Next month I will have to help to interview potential undergraduates for the next academic year who are applying to study biological sciences."

"All very different to Caltech, I have very little to do with undergraduates back home. A question for you Amy, I presume that you still collaborate with King's College in London."

"Yes, I usually go there once a month although I am making a special trip at the end of next week to ask as an external examiner for a Ph.D student."

"I have been invited to give a seminar there whenever it is convenient for me. It would be nice to go there with you."

"Yes, it would be good to show you the big city. I am going on Friday of next week, I should be there most of the day. It would be nice to have your company on the train."

"On the train, I like the sound of that!"

After Sheldon's Physics seminar at King's College London he went to the Biological Sciences building to meet Amy.

"Hello Sheldon, how was the seminar."

"Good to meet more theoreticians and talk about dark matter."

"May I introduce my old friend Jane, we were at Harvard together. Professor Jane Gonzalez meet Dr. Sheldon Cooper. She is from Texas as well."

"Howdy Sheldon, I am from Dallas."

"Good afternoon Professor, I come from Galveston. Nice to meet another Texan."

"OK, thanks for an interesting day Jane, see you next month."

Sheldon and Amy left King's College and went out for dinner together before returning to King's Cross station to get the train back to Cambridge. They had just had their photograph taken at 'Platform 9 3/4' and were preparing to walk to a platform with a whole number when Amy suddenly grabbed Sheldon's hand and whispered "keep hold of my hand Sheldon..."
