Sequel to "Amy over the pond" when visiting scientist Sheldon meets up with Professor Amy Farrah Fowler at Cambridge University.

########################

In April Sheldon was invited to a meeting with the head of the Cambridge University Physics department.

"Ah, Dr. Cooper. Thank you for coming to this meeting."

"Hello Professor Jones, how can I help you."

"May I introduce Dr. Samantha Riley, she is our departmental administrator."

"Pleased to meet you Dr. Riley."

Dr. Riley said "Are you enjoying your time here in Cambridge Dr. Cooper?"

"Yes I am, I will be sad to leave in September."

Professor Jones "I understand that you knew our old friend and colleague Professor Stephen Hawking?"

"I first met him when he came to Caltech in 2012. We did a little bit of collaboration after that, I am proud to have co-authored a paper with him 2017, a few months before he died."

Dr. Riley "The University wants to establish a new 'Hawking Professorship in Theoretical Physics', we have been in discussions with the executors of Professor Hawking's estate about funding. Some of the income from the sales of 'A Brief History of Time' and his other books will help to fund this Professorship."

Professor Jones "This Professorship will start in September, at the start of the next academic year. We would like to offer you this Professorship Dr. Cooper..."

That evening in Grantchester

"Please sit down Amy, I have two things I wish to discuss with you about our future. Last February, after our return from California, you asked if I had to leave Cambridge when my sabbatical year is over in September? Today Cambridge has offered me a Professorship, starting in September. I intend to accept this offer after discussing this with you.

When we were back in California I got something out of my safe deposit box at the bank. I kept it in there with some very precious Comic Books. I meant to give you this 12 years ago but I saw you with Dave, I was too late. Hopefully this will be second time lucky, will you marry me Amy?"

"Oh Sheldon, I will marry you tomorrow if you like!"
