Chapter eight

By the time Amelia got home, she wanted their daughter to go to QMA and she still hadn't seen it yet. Just hearing Harry and Sally explain everything about the school made her realise just how good it was and how far Hogwarts had fallen. It also made her realise that Hogwarts will definitely close. She was going to have a few meetings with people to figure out if the Hogwarts castle could be used for something other than a school. It was part of their history, so she did not want to see it abandoned and right now, that's where it was heading.

'You know how QMA offer apprenticeships and masters degree's, it's a lot like muggle universities. One idea we could do is turn Hogwarts into a magical version of a university. The other idea that came to me is a public library. We could close off all the upper floors, for now and use the great hall as a library that can be accessed by anyone up to a certain time of an evening. Harry told me a bit about muggle public libraries and they work similar to school libraries, anyone can go in and borrow books or you can sit there and do research. Some are opened late to give adults time to study. Some books are too fragile, which means they can't be taken out of the building, so being able to sit and use the book when you need works out.'

'Combining those two idea's could work well. It's such a huge castle and grounds, it would be a shame to just let it sit empty.'

'You know there is something you could do and it would help keep us fully separate from the muggles.'

Amelia realised what her husband was about to suggest, 'Move the ministry to Hogwarts.'

'Yes, it's big enough, there are also a lot of hidden and underground rooms that could be used for sensitive items or things like the department of mysteries, or even jail cells that prisoners can be kept in until their trial. But you could add the library to it and have it open until say, eleven of a night. The rest of the ministry could be closed off from the library, that way it would only need minimum security. Someone like Pince could still work there but you could add a few more people. There would already be security, we just add another person to patrol that area for when the ministry is closed but the library is open. The wards around Hogwarts just need updating then it really will be secure and away from muggles. I get why they opened the original ministry where it was, but the entrance is right in the middle of muggle London. Harry explained about muggle video camera's and how almost all of London was covered now.'

'So even though the queen and prime minister know about us along with some of their military, there are still others that could find out and those people might not be as accepting as others. I will talk it over with some, but also speak with Albus and Minerva. When Hogwarts does close, I doubt Albus will want to teach anymore, not that Harry would allow him into the school. Minerva would retire as well.'

'Albus should retire from everything. Well, you have a lot of work to do, but luckily you have a husband who can help. For now it's late, let's get to bed.'

It was a few days later that Arthur Weasley got a surprising letter. It was from Harry but he asked that Arthur not mention the letter, not until they have spoken. Even though Arthur was still angry with the man for what he did to Ginny and how she was still in pain, he knew the boy had been pushed too far so he lashed out. He still had no idea if it was Harry that killed Percy, he had only heard rumours that it could have been. Maybe he was about to find out.

Arthur stepped into the muggle café and looked around. Even though Harry was no longer a boy, but a grown man, he was still recognisable, due to his messy hair that just stuck up all over the place.

Harry stood as Arthur approached, 'Mr Weasley.'

'Harry, I think you can call me Arthur. So even though I am still very angry with you, let's sit and get all this out in the open.'

Harry nodded, once they were sitting he cast a few charms to keep the muggles from hearing anything. He then handed over a vial.

'That will cure Ginny and remove the scar.'

'Did you mean to hurt her or was it just anyone that tried to find you?'

'It was a ward I created to attack anyone that tried to find me. I thought if any would, it would be the old man, Mad-eye or Snape. I never expected it to be Ginny. At the time there was no cure, it took me a lot of years to invent that potion. Just so you know, I have my masters in potions and have created many.'

'Thank you for the potion and the explanation. Now about Percy? I know he was ambitious and I know he would sell his family to get what he wanted. So tell me why he died?'

Harry sighed, 'He joined Voldemort, he became a death eater. You see, the people at MI5 were able to find a way to track anyone with a dark mark. I didn't even know it was him until I removed his mask. I checked his arm, he had the dark mark. I still wanted to know more, so I went through everything in his flat. I found…disturbing information on some things he did. He also had plans for…I'm sorry, for all of you, especially the twins and Mrs Weasley.'

'Even though I am hurt, angry and disappointed that one of my children could do that, it does not surprise me to hear that, Harry. At first, when I tried to figure out why he was killed, whether it was you or not. I kept going over reasons and one reason kept coming back, that he supported Voldemort. I know he didn't like how muggleborns wanted to change our traditions and was determined to stop that, I just didn't believe he would kill to do it. I have to know, did he kill?'

Harry sighed as he nodded, 'Three muggleborn families and one half blood that lived in the muggle world. I get traditions Arthur, it's one thing my school teaches. We explain that if you don't like the wizarding worlds traditions then you do not have to live or work there. Children still need to learn how to use their magic, safely and how to keep our world a secret. It doesn't mean they have to remain in the wizarding world. When you think about it, there really isn't enough work for all the children at Hogwarts and the queens academy once they left their education so many have to return to the muggle world. That is one reason we teach both magic and muggle subjects. Hermione returned, she now works at the school. We spoke for days once she took up the position. One thing me and others spoke to her about was how she kept wanting to change things. It took a meeting with the queen to get her to understand that the wizarding world is completely different from the muggle world. It's like if a Buddhist turned around and said we all had to follow his religion and give up our beliefs. Hermione was trying to do that. The wizarding world is old and they have many traditions, some are slowly being fazed out because they were only there to help the pure bloods and not all magicals. But true traditions that are for all witches and wizards need to be kept, maybe just modernised a bit without changing them completely. This is where Percy comes into it. He did not want any changed and believed only the pure bloods could run our schools and government.'

'I did see and hear some things from Percy that told me he agreed with many of the pure bloods like Lucius Malfoy. It became worse when he got at job at the ministry. I may not like the idea of anyone being killed, especially my own son, but I do understand what his supporters were like. Even with proof, I'm not sure if Molly should know or not. She's finally moving on and hardly mentions Percy anymore. Does anyone else in the family know about Percy?'

'No, I knew it was not up to me. You are head of the family, if you want them to know it will be your choice. I just wanted you to know why he was killed. I worked alongside the magical military squad to help finish Voldemort and I only killed death eaters. Yes, I was very angry when I left and it took me a long time to put all that to rest, but I would never kill an innocent or without reason. I trained hard and had to learn how to actually kill without it hurting my soul. Once I had my first meeting with the queen and prime minister, I was instantly sent to speak with a healer who specialised in helping people who had been traumatised. It took me more than a year of seeing her constantly before I was able to put everything into perspective and put it behind me and move on, without the anger and resentment. She said after my first year at Hogwarts I should have been speaking with a professional, since I did technically kill Quirrell. I thought of Ginny and realised she should have seen someone as well and Hogwarts should have paid for it. If the wards had been up to scratch as they should have been, that diary would never gotten past the boundary and Ginny paid for that.'

'Yes, she did suffer, a lot and maybe we are also to blame for how she turned out. Being the first girl in seven generations of Weasley's meant she was spoiled. Molly also should shoulder some of the blame for Ginny and how she was convinced she would end up marrying you. Molly told Ginny from the time she was very little about the little boy who saved the world. Ginny became obsessed with you. That diary, or…him, he used that and hurt my daughter. Since she got that scar, she never leaves the property, all she does is fly when she's not inside. Many have said she could be a great coach for quidditch. Maybe now she will be healed she can get on with her life, one where she realises her life does not have anything to do with you.'

'I know the twins and Ron said she fancied me and I know it did change when I saved her in the chamber. I never knew it was more than just a crush. Even though we didn't really keep our marriage a secret, Sally and I do like our privacy so we make sure we can't get recognised when we are in the wizarding world. Maybe it's time I let it be known that I'm married, with five children and I am the headmaster of the Queen's Magical Academy. If Ginny still has any romantic feelings for me, then maybe it could help her move on. I know it's been a long time since all this happened but I wanted you to know about Percy so you could move on as well.'

'I believe having a lot of information brought out will help many be able to move on. Dumbledore is in the last years of his life, I believe he is hanging on because he has to know if the prophecy was fulfilled. Ginny will know the truth and finally work on a life that does not involve you. Molly and I will finally put Percy to rest, but so will the rest of the family. Yes Harry, I think it's time certain information was brought to light so we can move forward.'

Harry nodded. He knew sooner or later he would let the wizarding world know about his life. He never thought he would see Albus Dumbledore again, but maybe if he spoke with the old man, he could finally put that part of his life to rest as well and the old man could finally move on to his next great adventure. But Harry knew with absolute certainty that his parent's would not allow Albus Dumbledore to enjoy his afterlife.
