Chapter nine

Arthur waited for two days before he gave Ginny the potion that would heal her. The reason, Harry released a statement about his life, his marriage and his children, also about how he helped the queen set up The Queens Magical Academy. Arthur wanted Ginny to see that once she was healed, it was time for her to move on with her life that did not involve Harry Potter.

Arthur hadn't been sure if Ginny still had feelings for Harry, not until she saw the article. She at first hexed and cursed trees down in the orchard, then she ended up in her room, crying. It wasn't until the following morning that Ginny had calmed down and left her room, that was when he gave her the potion. He didn't tell her or Molly he got it from Harry, just that a potion had been invented. He knew eventually he would be asked, then he would explain that it was Harry, but he only did it so Ginny could move on with her life, one without him. The story about Harry also had one picture of him with his wife and children. If anyone looked at that picture they would see a happy and loving family. But it was the look Harry gave his wife that told Ginny she would never have a hope of getting Harry Potter.

Amelia, with the help of Sirius and some of her staff had many meetings to work on what Hogwarts should be used for once it is no longer a school. Having a public library is something that is needed. For people who could not afford to continuously buy books, with a public library they can at least borrow them, or sit in the library to do research, even just to read. The Hogwarts library also contained many very old books that are no longer available to buy. The group also liked the idea of moving the ministry of magic to Hogwarts and expanding the town of Hogsmeade. One of her secretary's thought having a restaurant or cafe's in Hogsmeade would also be beneficial. First it allows the ministry workers to leave the building for lunch or morning tea, or even to have a meeting over a good meal in a relaxed atmosphere.

Since Hogsmeade was the only all wizarding village still around, some people said if the ministry move there and they expand it, why not have Diagon alley moved there that way it was completely away from the muggles. It would also stop anyone from accidentally stumbling upon the magical shopping alley. There has been the odd child that has opened the door to the Leaky cauldron, which meant someone had to take the child back into the muggle world and find their parent. Those children are muggleborns that have not be informed about the magical world yet, some were also squibs. Which was another thing that Amelia wanted changed. She wanted a specific department set up to detect magic in muggle areas then have them speak with the muggle parent and the magical child so they would know about how they had to keep magic a secret. It would also help if the child was being mistreated because they were a witch or wizard. When a child is hurt, whether physically or verbally, their magic can lash out. This department would be able to investigate why the child kept using magic.

After two months of continuous meetings, the new governors and Wizengamot had finally worked out everything that involved in moving the ministry to Hogwarts, but also turning the great hall into a public library. Two cafe's had already been built, ready to open, along with one restaurant. They were still discussing moving Diagon alley to Hogsmeade, but they did not have to rush with that as it was still hidden from the muggles. Warding wizards had moved the muggle repelling wards further out so they could expand Hogsmeade, but they also added more wards to keep them secure, not just from muggles on the ground, but also from muggles in the air.

Amelia was ready to organise a meeting with the council that was put together to organise changing Hogwarts from a school to the ministry. She planned to have Harry there, as headmaster of QMA, along with Pomona. She wanted someone who was not bias against Hogwarts. It had already been approved, they just had not informed the staff of Hogwarts. She knew the staff of Hogwarts would not be overly surprised since they had been constantly losing students for years. They knew sooner or later Hogwarts would close. It would close, as a school and become the first wizarding public library and the ministry of magic.

Amelia knew once Hogwarts was closed as a school, the last remaining students would need to enrol in QMA, or head overseas to other schools. Once she learned about QMA, she had investigated other schools. Only one was similar to Hogwarts and it still supported pure bloods, that was Durmstrang. If any of the pure blood students who were at Hogwarts wanted to keep acting the way they did, then they would be shocked if they went to any other school apart from Durmstrang. Harry had taken Amelia through all the security that QMA had, the wands, the camera's, and the actual security house elves, that were loyal to the school. Those elves did not do anything else apart from making sure the students were safe and the school secure. If there were any pure bloods that acted like many from death eater families, they will find themselves expelled and maybe arrested. But the wards and the house elves always make sure no student can be seriously hurt. Even if a student tried to be sneaky and make a poisonous potion in a bathroom or dorm room, it would be know, due to the portraits. The portraits watch everything in places that didn't have camera's, like bathrooms. They would then relay that information to the security elves and headmaster.

Sally was deputy head of QMA, but when she had to take over for Harry, Filius was the deputy. It was the day that the minister, her staff, Pomona and Harry were meeting with Albus Dumbledore and his staff. They were going to explain just what had been decided about Hogwarts. No one wanted to see Hogwarts fall into ruins, this was the best course of action.

Harry was invited as the headmaster of the most popular magical school in the world. Pomona was invited to explain, without bias just how good QMA was and why it was so good. Harry also wanted the staff of Hogwarts to know they could have a job at QMA, except Albus Dumbledore, Sybil Trelawney and Filch. Those three would not be allowed anywhere near QMA. He had the support of the queen and a group advisers who worked like the governors of Hogwarts. They gave Harry free rein to run the school as he saw fit since he was part of the talks with the queen about starting another school for witches and wizards.

Harry and Pomona met Amelia and the committee at the gates of Hogwarts. Hagrid was there waiting, but everyone noticed he stared at Harry.

'Hello Hagrid?'

'Harry,' Hagrid rushed forward to hug his old friend, 'It's good ta see ya. What' ya doing here?'

'I'm the headmaster of QMA and I was involved in the talks to help set up another school. The minister invited me to explain why QMA is the number one school in the world.'

'We need to go Hagrid, I'm sure you and Harry can catch up another time,' Amelia said.

'I'll make sure of it,' Harry gave the big man a smile, and a hug before he followed the group up to the ancient castle. Albus Dumbledore and Minerva McGonagall were standing at the door. Harry noticed straight away how old Dumbledore looked, but also, how weak he looked.

'Minister and friends, welcome,' Albus said.

'Headmaster, Professor,' minister nodded, 'How about we go in so we can explain what this meeting is about.'

'Is that Potter?' Minerva asked.

'Yes,' Harry said simply.

'Let's get in,' Albus said but he gave Harry a look before he turned and lead the way into the great hall, which was empty of students and the house tables. A single round table was sitting in front of the old staff table, the other members of staff, apart from Hagrid were already sitting there.

Harry thought it was the first time he saw Dumbledore sit at a table where he wasn't the main focus or have the biggest chair. Harry sat, Amelia on one side, Sirius on her other side and Pomona on Harry's other side. The rest of committee sat in the other vacant seats.

'Even though your message did not explain why you asked for this meeting, minister, it was not hard to figure out. Hogwarts is going to close, correct?'

'In a way, you are correct. It is not going to close, but it will not longer be a school. We have decided to use this room as a public library. The rest of the castle will become the new ministry of magic. It is time we moved away from the muggles, especially now they have ways to see past muggle repelling charms around the entrance to the ministry. The unspeakables believe the lower floors, I mean down in the chamber of secrets and other rooms would be perfect for their department. We will be working opposite to how the ministry is now. My office will be your old office Albus, then the most important departments on the six floor and so forth down. We plan to make sure the library will be opened until eleven of a night, but we will be able to close of the rest of the building.'

'None of us wanted to see Hogwarts as the muggles see it,' Sirius said, 'It stood for a thousand years and it's still a strong and formidable castle. It would be a shame to see it fall into disrepair.'

'The staff and I have spoken about this and that is one of our worries, that the castle would be left to rot. I am actually pleased with your plans for this old place.'

'Is that why more shops have begun to open in Hogsmeade?' Rolanda asked.

'Yes, it was suggested during one of our meetings. We all felt it was a good idea. There is so much empty land around Hogsmeade so we could take the muggle repelling charms further out and expand Hogsmeade. Even though Sirius is my husband, I did not agree to his ideas because of our relationship. He suggested the public library and moving the ministry here after he visited the Queen's Magical Academy. He knew from that one visit that Hogwarts will end up with hardly any students and not enough to keep it open.'

'So you plan to send your child to….that School,' Minerva said with almost a sneer, which wasn't missed by anyone.

Harry knew just from the way she spoke that Minerva McGonagall will never want to work at QMA. He didn't mind really, he always thought McGonagall was too rigid and cold. Young students did not want to approach her about anything personal because of how cold she looks and acts. Filius and Pomona were the oldest teachers at QMA yet they are still young enough and friendly enough that the students feel comfortable approaching them. That was one thing Harry wanted for the school, a friendly environment where children could learn.
