"Hey, Jude..."
V half sang to herself as she lay in the dingy, yet familiar hallway. Blood slowly poured out of her right shoulder onto the trash heap she collapsed upon. Through half lidded eyes she saw Johnny scream something at her but she couldn't make out what it was. The pain had made her quite delirious at this point and she knew she would pass out any second. She tried one last time to make her broken body work before that happened because she didn't have a clue what else to do at this point. With a primal cry screaming of utter agony V lunged at the door panel that was so close yet miles away. With what sounded like a gong going off in her brain, the door panel registered her bio-id with a slight ping and slid open silently. The half-dead merc let out a sigh of relief that quickly turned into a wet, bloody cough. With the last of her consciousness fading, V gazed up into the brown eyes of her.
She made it. She's home.
"Hey, Jude...make it better?"
"Well, where the fuck is she then? You were the last person to talk with her you fucking gonk! Fuck! Well if you hear anything you let me know ASAP, got it?"
The young BD editor slammed her phone down on the couch and threw herself next to it with a huff. V still hadn't called her back and she hadn't heard from her in a few days. Which wasn't too unusual for V but she was still worried about the merc, nonetheless. Judy looked around her apartment despondently for something to occupy her thoughts when she spied V's jacket hanging up behind the door. She didn't know why but the urge to put in on overcame her and she found herself across the room before she realized it. Right as her slim hand reach out for the jacket, Judy started hearing singing. Puzzled at the odd noise she stepped closer to the door to put her ear on it, when she heard a terrible scream come from the other side. She started to back away when something familiar hit her ears in that scream. Throwing caution to the wind, she hit the button to open her front door only to see something she never wanted to see ever again.
V lay there still, limbs contorted every which way with her left hand outstretched towards the door frame, bleeding from what seemed to be everywhere.
Judy came out of her shock with a jolt when she heard a sound coming from her broken merc. Quickly dropping to the floor to try to help in any way should could, though how she didn't really know, she saw that somehow V's eyes were open and staring straight at hers. V's lips were moving but Judy couldn't make the words out. Moving closer to the merc's face Judy could faintly here just a snippet of what V was saying...
"Hey, Jude...make it better?"
