Chapter 20
Logan POV
Well, Psyche seems to be doing a lot better. She's laughing, and cracking jokes. And puns.
So many puns. I enjoy them, but wow. We're also a lot closer to finding the next Titan.
Krios was, for some reason, camping out in Colorado. We know this, because we keep
hearing about a big guy who always carries a giant Rams helmet, screams at people, and had
a Colorado license plate. Now, we all know who Krios is, hopefully. Guy with a Rams helmet
is too good of an opportunity to pass up. So, that's where we're going.
When we got there, the first thing we did, was go to Colorado State University, Home of the Rams. We went to the stadium, and found a guy with so much memorabilia, he looked like a toxic hardcore fan who screams in people's faces. But he was about 8 feet tall, and had a helmet with actual horns on it. We all approached him slowly, so he wouldn't see us. He seemed to tense up, but then he laughed and proclaimed "Welcome, heroes, to my humble abode. I had thought that living up North would throw you off my scent, but alas, it seems I was wrong."
Oh, jeez. Okay, well, he knows we are here, so I decided to humor him.
"You are literally in the Rams stadium. There is no less obvious place, except for freaking Los Angeles." I said condescendingly.
"The Angels, I believe it means. Yes, but that…was not suited for me."
We all felt a wave of unease wash over us. We could tell Krios was preparing for this. He had a set of weights on one end of the field, and there were giant footprints in the grass. I turned to Adrian.
He brought the ****ing radio.
I gave him a look. He shrugged back.
Anyway, we had no plan of attack, except 'attack'.
First, it was Magnus and Alex. Adrian turned on the radio.
Ah-ah, Ah!
Ah-ah, Ah!
We come from the land of the ice and snow
From the midnight sun where the hot springs glow.
The hammer of the gods
We'll drive our ships to new lands
To fight the horde, and sing and cry,
Valhalla, I am coming.
Magnus, while charging, yelled "We're already there, but okay."
They fought valiantly, but Krios parried every move.
"We need a plan," May whispered. "Anyone got any ideas? Because throwing dead people at him isn't working."
We came up with a plan, and put it in action.
"You puny einherjar! You can't defeat me!" Krios boasted.
"Oh, we know," Alex said, panting. "But HE can!" gesturing at Adrian…
Adrian POV
What!? What is happening? Why is a dead person saying I can defeat a Titan? I've never done this before! Well, there's a first for everything. There was this thing I wanted to try out…
I summoned fire on my hands and feet, and used magic, to give them propulsion. Next thing I knew, I was in the air! It was more high hovering, but it was still awesome. I balanced myself, and flew towards Krios, and shot fire at him. I barely got him, but I singed his helmet.
Krios roared. "Insolent child! You think that a little fire will stop me?"
I pondered for a minute, then said "Considering that your helmet is dusting, yeah…"
He looked shocked for a minute, then a little afraid. But there was a wicked gleam in his eyes. He scanned around, and drew out a sword. I glanced to the side for a second, and saw Psyche's face erupt in fear. I was worried, but I had to worry about this, first. I flew around him, shooting fire in his face, while he kept trying to hit me.
I got nicked a few times, and I could feel the blood oozing out of the cuts.
I knew I had to beat him then, so I did what I thought was the only logical solution.
I cupped my hands together, and released my most powerful fire. I let it build up for a while, until my hands would burst from the pressure. I released, and a large wave of purple flames burst from my hands, onto Krios.
He screamed in agony as the flames consumed his body.
"You will not stop my father, chandelier!" he yelled as he disintegrated into dust.
I descended to the ground, and looked around.
"Is everyone okay?" I asked. They all had soot on their faces, but seemed otherwise unharmed. Psyche had a wide-eyed expression, and seemed to be seeing something that wasn't there.
Psyche POV
We all went to find Krios in the middle of the Rams stadium. It was fine until he drew out his sword. Then, I was back with Hyperion…I saw his sword, and was afraid he would stab me again. I couldn't move, and I just thought he was going to just jut it forward, and…
I couldn't breathe. I felt dizzy, and could feel my stomach churning. I froze in place, and just saw…a blade
We walked back to the boat, and I promptly sat down. I could feel the cool metal piercing my flesh, the pain of it emerging out the other end. Not knowing if I would live or die. My eyes darted around the room, not knowing what was real, and what wasn't. I couldn't see straight, and felt my vision blur.
I heard this faint voice.
"Psyche? Psyche!?" the voice yelled.
"W-what? Who's there?" I asked, in a panic.
"It's me, Logan. You're fine. No one is here. Hyperion is dead. You're alive and fine." He said.
I saw an outline of what I think was May…she approached me, and then, I passed out.
May POV
Holy crap. Holy crap. Holy crap. What is happening? I thought Psyche was getting better! Or…getting better…at…hiding it.
Oh, Psyche! Why'd you do this? We could have helped! We could have talked this out! I had walked up to Psyche, and she fainted.
"HOLY F***!" Adrian yelled. "Someone wake her up!"
We gave her some water, hoping to get her conscious again. After an agonizing eternity, with everyone watching, she finally came to. But it seemed that she was still in that mindset, because she started crying. Big, fat tears rolled down her face, as she wailed, wailed about not wanting to die, to get the blades away, to stop everything.
"GET AWAY! GET THEM AWAY! DON'T LET THEM HURT ME! I DON'T WANNA GO I DON'T WANNA GO IDONTWANNAGOIDONTWANNAGOIDONTWANNAGOIDONTWANNAGO! JUST LEAVE ME ALONE I DON'T WANT YOUR STABBY POINT!" she yelled at the top of her lungs, in between sobs.
I think she was too freaked out to see what was happening in front of her. How long had she internalized this? How long did she keep this from us? I guess seeing Krios's sword made her snap. I mean, she missed Adrian flying! But being stabbed would leave some trauma, I suppose.
"Hey, look at me." I said. "you're gonna be fine. You're not in any danger, ok?"
"I…I'm not ready for this…I wasn't ready for any of this." She whispered.
So I was wondering if you guys still enjoy this, because I saw the traffic graph for this story, and it's going down. I mean, I knew this wasn't a good story, I just thought it would take longer to deteriorate this far. Anyways, leave thoughts in reviews and stuff. I'll write the next chapter, listening to the entire Undertale Original Soundtrack….
