A/N: Not much to say except if you could check out my one shot story, I would appreciate it. I may do more whenever I don't know what to write for this story so please feel free to leave specific ideas for any families. Most will probably be on the DiNozzo-David household (they're my favorite). Oh and MERRY (late) CHRISTMAS!
Ziva POV:
Ziva was furious. She had just gotten off the phone with Principal Lenner, from the children's school. Alex hadn't shown up for any of his classes. She knew that this was a possibility this morning but had hoped her wayward son would make the right choice. She was wrong. He did the exact opposite. Broke the promise to his sister and betrayed his parents' trust. Just wait until she informed Tony. The Israeli waited at her desk for the boys to return from lunch. When they did, she was pissed to see them laughing together without a care in the world.
Tony POV:
'Oh god,' Tony thought, exiting the elevator, seeing his wife's face, 'What the hell did I do? Oh crap. Alex.' He put on a smile and approached Ziva's desk, carrying her salad. "Hey, sweet cheeks. You wouldn't believe the line at Charlies. It was out the door. I'm just thankful we got back before Gibbs. My head can feel his handprint."
The woman just scowled. Giving no indication to what was wrong, Tony decided to tread carefully, "Zi, what's wrong, babe? Did something happen?"
"Oh yes," she started to rant, "Something most definitely happened. Your son just made the biggest mistake of his short lived life. When I get my hands on him, ooh I swear to god."
"What'd he do? Pull another prank?" Tony didn't want to ask the obvious question. Him and Ziva had a talk last night about a plan to skip school but Tony didn't want to believe his son was that stupid. Surely, Alex knew what would happen.
Ziva's sigh was a mix of exhaustion and frustration, "No Tony. He didn't pull a prank. I wish he had. He decided to go along with the little plan of missing school. I just got off the phone with the principal and he asked if Alex stayed home sick! When I replied no, he said that our son must have skipped along with four other boys in his grade. Then he informed me that on top of the detentions he had for the Ms. Phillps incident, he would have to serve them after school instead of lunch, and would have a day suspension for skipping! Our son has been suspended!"
Tony was about to reply, now sure his wife was done, but Gibbs came marching in the bullpen holding a coffee and announcing they had a case. Ziva was angrily grabbing her bag and Tim was silently running to the elevator. This left Tony paralyzed in shock until the slap across his hair came.
"You coming, DiNozzo?"
"Yeah, boss I'm coming," he said as he grabbed his bag and sprinted to the elevator as they were closing. The whole way done and in the vehicle, he just prayed for his son. He was gonna be in a world of hurt once caught.
Alex's POV:
He was still propped on the bike of the bike, and all the boys were whooping as they rode down the hills of DC. This day had been one of the best of his life and he was glad he decided to come. Part of him felt guilty for not helping Tali but the adrenaline he felt right now outweighed it. So far they had been to the mall, and the arcade, and it was just nearing lunch. Alex could only imagine the boredom his classmates were feeling. While the teen didn't hate school, it definitely wasn't his favorite thing. He really wasn't smart, teachers hated him, and sometimes kids his age just straight up sucked. Well, he didn't want to think about school while he was out of it. Still he was nervous about the consequences.
"Yo, you positive we are in the clear?" Alex asked Mickey. "I mean, I just don't wanna get in trouble with my folks, you know?"
Mickey just looked up at him from the bike. "Nah we'll be fine. We are gonna be home by the time they hear the answering machine so if you just delete the message it's all good."
Alex's face visibly paled. His mother, well Uncle Tim, set the phone at her desk to receive all messages as well as the home phone. And if she didn't have a case, she sure as hell was going to hear the message. There was no way he could delete that one. Alex really hoped a marine was dead somewhere.
Tali's POV:
Tali was crouched down in a bathroom stall trying to dry her tears. Unfortunately, the water kept falling. She couldn't believe she was crying in school. If Marrissa or any of the girls found out, she would never hear the end of it. Even if it was them who made this happen. Tali never should have told them to stop. She should have waited for her older brother but he was nowhere to be found. The girl didn't want to believe he forgot or didn't care but that was harder now that she had been left defenseless against a group of bullies who made fun of her. If Alex did forget or didn't care, Tali swore she would never forgive him.
Ziva and Tony's POV:
At the house of Captain Denver, the now dead marine, Ziva's anger was obvious. So much so Gibbs assigned her to take the photos instead of talking to witnesses out of fear that she may bite their heads off. So here she was, snapping pictures of the marine and his surroundings. She for once liked this job because it meant she could focus on her mind. Her thoughts were crowded with Alex. How dare he miss school. He knows how his mother feels about education and how privileged he is to even get the chance for school. Many children did not. The angry mother swore he would be grounded for life or at least a month. No TV, no phone, and sure as hell no friends. After all they are what got him in trouble. When her husband walked in with the goofy look on his face, her anger rose and confusion was added.
"Why do you look so happy? You should be angered by the arrogance of your son!"
Tony flinched and his smile faltered, "I am pissed at Alex believe me. But right now we are on a case, and need to focus on finding this criminal before we focus on ours."
Ziva thought about it and deemed him correct. She was nearly always focused and didn't understand why this was throwing her so off. It was a big part of her life to keep work and home separate. Her husband continued his miny lecture, "Besides Zi, he's just a boy who made a mistake. It's not like it's misheard of especially with Alex. We will talk, punish and get through it like always. Now stop making me have to be the reasonable one."
The last sentence was added as a joke, Ziva knew, but she appreciated it. Honestly she liked his whole speech. It made her feel better that's for sure.
"For once DiNozzo is right. Now get focused on Agent David." Gibbs surprised the couple but both could hear the concern and care in his voice. He was obviously worried about his agent's behavior.
Alex's POV:
The day was nearing its end and Alex's worry grew. He knew that by now his parents heard the message and may have even answered the call. Facing them might as well be facing his doom. He knew he would be grounded for a while but hoped that would be all. Him and the rest of the boys were making their way around town trying to get home. Collin and Alex were first since their neighborhood was closest and then the three others would all disperse to their houses. Stopping at where the bus picked the children up, Alex hopped off the back of Mickey's bike and Collin began to walk his own. Before his back was turned, Collin caught his attention.
"Hey I guess you're not that bad DiNozzo. Feel free to hang any time. You know where to find us."
Alex's smile widened. He had done it. He had gotten in with the popular boys. "Thanks man. I will. See ya guys around." And with that the boys separated making their ways home.
Alex had walked down the street slowly. Just because he was popular didn't mean he wasn't dead. Approaching his house, his heart was relieved that his parents car wasn't in the driveway. He could live for a while longer. After grabbing the key from the rock, he entered the house and went straight for the kitchen. He sure was starving. Then the unexpected happened. He was face to face with his angry mother and serious father. Both sights were not good. What the hell had he gotten himself into?
Thanks for reading. I just have a few questions to ask you all. Do you think that Alex should be grounded or receive a spanking? It will not be overboard or anything like a beating but it may be somewhat graphic to read. I understand that it is a very controversial topic so I want your input. Also I feel like I put a lot of POV's so how did that feel? Overwhelmed or more informed? Please let me know. I will write it out once I know.
I also have been having ideas for another story. One where Tiva adopts kids from a case and the struggle of that. Is that something you are interested in? I can go further in explanation if it is so please please let me know. Any other stories ranging from multichapter to one - shorts are appreciated. Have a good day!
