Episode 10: Water Flowers of Cerulean City
Waking up from her sleep, Hana opens her eyes to find herself in a different environment. Hana looks around to find herself in some strange room. She looks around to notice strange machines and what looks like a strange glass, no metal floor where her feet are.
Hana looks around and asks, "What is this place? Where am I? Is this a place where humans are?"
Hana turns her head and gasps in shock. What she sees is some tall glass container or something with orange liquid inside. Inside the container is a gray bipedal, humanoid creature that has feline features with a long purple tail, short and blunt horns, and its eyes are closed. It also has some tubes extended on the back of it's skull to the spine. It's arms are wrapped around itself over something that resembles a breast plate. It has three digits on each hand and spherical tips on his feet with a thick base, and thick bulbs. Hana is confused because some strange wires with cushion cups are on parts of its body.
"Is that… is that a Pokemon?" Hana asks, and watches the Pokemon sleep.
She then places her hand on the glass as she thinks, "Have I… have I met you before?"
Suddenly, she begins to hear strange voices, "Doctor, look at this!"
Then another, "What?"
"Its brain waves… they're surging!" The first voice says.
The second voice says, "Let me see! She's right!"
Suddenly, multiple voices are beginning to talk at once, but Hana hears someone saying, "Let's run another scan!"
Then the female voice says, "It's mind's racing!"
Hana suspects that it sounds like multiple beings, one is a man and another is a woman, and sounds like a lot more. Hana turns around to see the Pokemon that is sleeping in some container. She notices that it's eyes begin to open a little.
She then hears the Pokemon says, "Those voices…"
"What?" Hana says, confused.
Then the man's voice says," I hope we don't lose this one."
Then the Pokemon says, "From outside?!"
"We can't lose this one," The man says.
The Pokemon's eyes open more as he says, "Where I must be!"
Just then, it's eyes follow open and it changes to a shade of blue. Suddenly, Hana sits up as she gasps in shock. She turns her head to see her friends and Pikachu sleeping in their beds. She remembers that she and her friends reach Cerulean City and stay at the Pokemon Center.
Hana then lays down and asks herself, "What was that Pokemon? It sounds like a boy, so it must be male. Why was it in that container? He looks very confused, and sad, and wishes to go somewhere. I don't know why, but I felt that I've seen it before, but where?"
Meanwhile, inside a strange store with machines and other stuff, everything seems quiet. Suddenly, the lid to the air vent opens, and James from Team Rocket comes out with a flashlight.
James says, "The coast is clear!"
Then Jessie comes out, "Nothing to fear."
"Nobody here," Meowth says, appearing out of the vent.
The three hop out of the air vent and stand on their feet. James turns on the flashlight to see the machines. They walk down the hall a little to notice what they're looking for. It looks like a green machine and a giant gray hose.
"Well, looks like we found it," James says.
"Just what we need to get just what we want," Jessie says.
"Pokemon!" Meowth says.
The next day, Hana and her friends are now walking on the streets of Cerulean City to find the Gym for Hana's next challenge. Alistair and are standing on their trainers/daddy's shoulders. In Hana's case, Pikachu is on her head, the twins are sitting on her shoulders, and holding Winter in her arms.
"So this is Cerulean City?" Hana asks with a smile.
"Pretty nice place, isn't it?" Akira says.
"Yeah, pretty cool!" Chase says.
"It's pretty," Diana says.
"Pika!" (Yeah). Both Pikachu agree.
Chase turns to Hana, "So Hana, what Pokemon will you use? Cerulean City is known for being a water type gym."
I'm planning on using Pikachu of course," Hana happily says.
"Pika Pi," (I'm your mon.)" Pikachu says.
Then Hana says, "I might also use little brother, little sister, Gloom, and Luxray. Wurmple might not like it. And Winter is still too young."
"Sounds good. You'll do great at your gym battle," Chase says.
"Thanks," Hana says.
Not long, the group of friends notice a crowd of people along with police cars in front of some machine store.
Daian asks, "Police. I wonder what happened."
"You think it's a robbery?" Chase asks.
"No doubt about it," Akira says.
The group hurries over to see what is going on. At the same time, the police are controlling the traffic and crowd of people. Hana and her friends arrive to see what is going on.
Hana asks the first person she sees,, "Excuse me. Do you know what happened here?"
"Some burglars broke into the store last night," The person answers.
"I figured as much. This looks like a crime scene," Akira says.
Suddenly a voice asks, "What do you know about burglars?"
The group turns their heads to see Officer Jenny walking to them.
"You all look very suspicious to me," Officer Jenny says.
Hana quickly says, "Hi Officer Jenny. It's great to see you. It's me, Hana. We met in Viridian City.
Jenny quickly says, "Oh! You must have met my sister-in-law."
Then Jenny looks at Hana's Pokemon and her, "A Pikachu? And two shiny color Ralts? Hana?"
Then asks, "I don't suppose you're that Pokemon Crime Fighter."
"Crime Fighter? Me?" Hana says, confused.
"I got a message from my sister-in-law in Viridian City and she told me how a young girl and her Pokemon stopped a Pokemon burglary at the Pokemon Center," Jenny says.
"Oh, you must mean when I helped Nurse Joy rescue the Pokemon and Pokeballs from the Center," Hana says.
"That's the one. I'm guessing they're your friends," Jenny says.
"We are. I'm Diana, a Pokemon Coordinator, and this is Ember," Diana says.
Ember happily says, "Cynda," (Hello)
"I'm Chase, a Pokemon watcher," Chase says.
Akira says as he salutes and holds his badge, "I'm Akira, me and me little guy, Alistair. We are police officers."
Jenny looks at the badge and then salutes, "Nice to see a fellow officer on the scene."
"Yes. Do you think you can tell us what they stole? It might help us out," Akira says.
"Pika Pika," (Please tell us,) Alistair says.
Jenny crosses her arms and says, "That's the strange thing about it. They didn't take any money, just some massive vacuum and a giant hose."
"What on earth would anyone want that stuff for?" Diana asks.
"I'm afraid I have no clue, and the security cameras were messed up too, so we can't determine who did it," Jenny says.
"Well, if you need my help, I'll be glad to. My friends and I are heading to the Cerulean Gym," Akira says.
I'll consider it, Akira," Jenny says.
Then calls out to the people, "Come on, let's go! Alright, everybody! The show's over! Nothing to see here! Break it up! Break it up!"
A little time later, the group is walking around town looking for the gym. Of course, they can't stop thinking about the robbery.
"A massive vacuum and a giant hose? What could someone steal those for?" Hana asks.
"Maybe someone is planning to use them, but for what," Diana suggests.
"It's hard to tell. Whatever it is, I'm sure Officer Jenny will find them," Chase says.
Akira says, "Until then, let's go look for Cerulean Gym, so you can have your battle, Hana."
Hana smiles, "Right."
The group continues to walk along the road as Hana and Diana look at the map.
"Hmm, according to the map, the Cerulean Gym should be around here," Diana says.
Hana turns her head and notices, "I think this is it."
The group turns their heads to see a semi circle-like building that has a pink and yellow stripe roof with a Dewgong on it.
"There it is," Chase says.
The group walks inside to see so many glass windows. Hana walks to one to see so many water type Pokemon. There are Goldeens, Shelders, Seakings, a Seel, Staryu and Starmie, Luvdisc, Clampearl, and so much more.
Hana says in amazement, "Wow! I have never seen so many Water Pokemon in one place before.
"Pika," (Amazing.) Pikachu says.
"Ralts," (Pretty) Sister Ralts says.
"Ralts," (Looks cool) Ralts brother says.
"Vulpix," (I wanna swim)" Winter replies.
However, Ember panics, "Cyna! Cyndaquil! Cynda Cyndaquil!" (Water! Water! Why does it have to be water!)
The group turns to see Ember is panicking and moving in Diana's arms. Diana quickly presents her hands forward as the little Pokemon breaths fire from her back.
Chase says, "I think you should put Ember back in her Pokeball."
"I think you're right," Diana says.
She brings out her Pokeball, "There there. You'll be safe in your Pokeball."
Diana returns Ember to her Pokeball and puts it back in her bag.
"Poor Ember. I understand why she's scared. Fire Pokemon is weak against water," Hana says.
"Yeah," Akira says.
The group continues to walk down the hall until they see a large pool with seats surrounding it in a big rectangle, but with a good amount of room to walk between them. What is amazing is that there are so many Water Pokemon jumping out and back into the water.
"That looks like fun!" Hana says.
"Yeah. There are so many Water Pokemon in one place," Chase says.
Diana looks up and notices, "Look, there's someone on the high board."
The gang looks up to see someone is up there to see a girl wearing a blue bikini. She has red hair in a spiky side ponytail, blue eyes, and fair color skin. She then jumps from the dive board and dives into the water in a spectacular fashion. Everyone claps their hands in excitement. The girl then comes back to the surface and the Water Pokemon join in.
Suddenly, Hana calls out, "Hello!"
The girl turns her head to see Hana waving to her with Pikachu and with her friends.
She swims over and stops at the other side and still in the water and Hana sits close to the edge.
"Hi. I didn't expect anyone to come today," The girl says.
"Sorry about that, but we saw you swimming and your dive looks great," Hana says.
"Thanks. So what can I do for you?" The girl asks.
"I'm here to challenge the Cerulean Gym Leader for a badge, but I like to know where the Gym Leader is," Haan says.
The girl giggles and says, "You're looking at her."
"Wait… you're the Gym Leader?" Hana asks, surprised.
"That's right. I'm Misty," The girl says.
"It's nice to meet you. Oh, this is my Pikachu, the Ralts twins, and Winter. And these are my friends, Akira and his Pikachu, Alistair, Diana, and Chase," Hana says.
"Hello," The group says.
The Pokemon reply hello too.
"So, are you all here for a battle?" Misty asks.
"No. We're all here to watch Hana's battle. I'm a Pokemon Coordinator," Diana says.
"I'm a Pokemon Watcher," Chase says.
"And I'm a police officer, but we all travel together," Akira says.
"Sounds interesting," Misty says as she climbs out of the Pool.
Then says, "Well Hana, I accept your challenge. Just let me change okay."
"Sure," Hana says with a smile.
A little time later, Misty is dressed in a yellow top with jean shorts, red and white sneakers and red suspenders. Hana with Pikachu, and Misty are standing on floating boards on the pool and a few smaller round boards around on the pool as well. Akira and the others watch the math. Winter is the only other Pokemon let out so she can catch the match they're ready to battle.
Misty says, "Alright, we'll have a two against two battle. The winner is when both Pokemon on either side are unable to battle."
"Sounds good to me," Hana says.
Then turns to Pikachu, "Alright Pikachu, let's do it."
"Pika," (You bet.) Pikachu says, standing in front of Hana.
Misty then throws her Pokeball, "Go Staryu!"
The Pokeball opens and a brown starfish like Pokemon comes out, it has a gold plate in the middle with a red gem.
"A Staryu huh," Hana says.
She then holds her Pokedex in front and Dexter says, "Staryu, the Star Shape Pokemon. The core of this Water Pokémon shines in a rainbow of seven colors, a core that is valued by some as a type of jewelry."
"Interesting. I remember seeing Staryu, and they're tough," Hana says.
Hana then calls out, "Pikachu use the boards to help with a Quick Attack!"
Pikachu runs on the platforms at top speed. Then smacks Staryu in the center and bounces off. She then lands on the platform.
Misty calls out, "Staryu, Counter Attack!"
Staryu spins around and aims to Pikachu.
"Pikachu, dodge!" Hana calls out.
Pikachu quickly dodges the attack. Staryu is able to land on the platform.
Hana calls out, "Use tackle attack!"
Pikachu then tackles Pikachu a few times.
Misty then calls out, "Staryu, Water Gun!"
Staryu then sprays water. Pikachu quickly dodges the attack.
Hana calls out, "Pikachu, dodge the attack."
Pikachu continues to dodge the attacks as it jumps on the platforms.
Hana thinks, "I need to catch Staryu unguarded, but I don't want to shock the other Pokemon."
Hana has an idea," Pikachu, use quick attacks! Then use your tail to swat Staryu in the air."
Misty, Akira, and the others become confused. Pikachu however, understands what Hana is planning. Pikachu continues to use Quick Attack. As Staryu continues to use Water Gun. When Pikachu gets close, he first tackles Staryu. Then sends it flying in the air.
Hana calls out, "Alright Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!"
Pikachu unleashes his Thunderbolt attack. Then the electricity zaps Staryu. Then Staryu lands in the water as Pikachu lands on the platform.
Misty returns Staryu back to its Pokeball, "You did a great job, Staryu. You get a good rest."
She then says to Hana, "That was an interesting move you did."
"Thanks. I didn't want the other Pokemon getting zapped from our battle," Hana says.
"Pikachu," (That's right) Pikachu says.
"I like your spirit, but we still have a battle. Go Starmie!" Misty says, and throws a Pokeball.
The Pokemon comes out almost like Staryu, but has another five sets of points, and has a pinkish red color gem, and it's the color violet.
"Starmie, huh. That's the evolved form of Staryu," Hana says.
Then holds her Pokedex, and Dexter says, "Starmie, the Mysterious Pokemon and the evolved form of Staryu. Its sparkling core is called "the gem of the sea". This core can be made into high-priced accessories that are traded in secret."
"Wow! That sounds beautiful," Hana says.
Hana turns to Pikachu, "You want to go another round?"
"Pika," (Yeah. I'm ready to get zappin!) Pikachu says.
Hana then calls out, "Alright Pikachu, use Quick Attack!"
Pikachu speeds on the platform.
Misty calls out, "Counter attack!"
Misty Starmie begins to counter spin.
"Dodge Pikachu!" Hana calls out.
Pikachu quickly dodges the attack. Starmie continues to fly and hits Pikachu. Pikachu lands on the platform and sees Starmie is coming right at him.
Hana then calls out, "Pikachu, dodge!"
Pikachu stands on four.
Hana calls out, "Wait for my signal. Then use your tail to whack it!"
At the stand, Diana and the others wonder what she is doing.
"Hana's up to something," Chase says.
"I hope it will work," Akira says.
Pikachu stands on his ground and waits for Hana's signal. Suddenly, Pikachu's tail begins to glow a gray color catching Akira and the others attention.
When Starmie is closing in Hana calls out, "Go for it Pikachu!"
Pikachu's tail fully glows gray then uses his tail to swat Starmie to the wall.
Misty worriedly says, "Starmie."
Starmie then falls to the ground and it's gem begins to flicker.
"Oh no, Starmie's energy is just about to run out!" Misty says worried.
Pikachu lands on the platform and Hana notices his tail is glowing gray until it disappears.
"Whoa! That was Iron Tail!" Hana says.
At the stand, Diana asks, "What was that?"
"That was Iron Tail," Chase says.
"I'll say. Those two are pretty strong together," Akira says.
Hana smiles, "That was great Pikachu, you learned Iron Tail. Now let's win this Gym badge."
Suddenly, the whole gym begins to shake, causing the battle to stop in its tracks. Suddenly, one area on the wall begins to crack and then bursts out to reveal a green machine with a giant gray hose.
"What is that?" Misty asks.
"I don't know, but I don't like it," Hana says.
Suddenly, Team Rocket rises from inside the machine.
Jessie:
Sorry to break in on you, ladies.
James:
Allow us to introduce ourselves.
Jessie:
To protect the world from devastation.
James:
To unite all peoples within our nation.
Jessie:
To denounce the evils of truth and love.
James:
To extend our reach to the stars above.
Jessie:
Jessie.
James:
James.
Jessie:
Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light!
James:
Surrender now, or prepare to fight!
Suddenly, Meowth lands in front of his teammates.
Meowth:
Meowth! That's right!
Everyone, excluding Misty exclaims, "Team Rocket!
James says, "The water Pokemon have the advantage."
"But if we steal that water away," Jessie says.
"Then the Pokemon are ours for the taking!" James says.
Meowth says "And Meowth knows just how to do it!"
"Team Rocket? Who are they?" Misty asks.
Then the giant hose land in the pool
"They're a group of bad people who steal Pokemon for their organization," Akira says.
"They're planning to steal your Pokemon," Hana says.
"What?!" Misty exclaims.
Just then, the giant machine and hose begin to suck up the water.
Hana looks at the machine, "A massive vacuum and a giant hose…"
Hana gasps, "Team Rocket were the robbers who broke into that store back there! I should've known it was them!"
"The pool!" Diana says, shocked.
"They're sucking it dry!" Misty says, shocked.
Misty says, worriedly, "We've gotta protect the Pokemon!"
"I'm on it!" Hana says.
She throws her Pokeballs in the air to release Little Brother and Little Sister, the Ralts.
"Alright you two, use psychic to save the Pokemon," Hana says.
The twins then use their psychic powers to lift some of the Pokemon in the air and put them on higher ground.
Meowth says, "All right! Now's the time to suck 'em up!"
Then pulls down the switch allowing the vacuum to suck up as many water Pokemon as it can. Hana and the others do their best to help get the Pokemon to higher ground. Suddenly, Pikachu is swept by the current.
Hana exclaims, "Pikachu!"
Pikachu continues to be swept away by the harsh current.
Hana then has an idea, "Hey, wait a second! Water conducts electricity!"
Then calls out to Pikachu, "Pikachu, Thunderbolt!"
"Pika," (You got it!) Pikachu says.
"Pikachu!" Pikachu cries and releases electricity.
Team Rocket screams in agony as they are being shocked by the Thunderbolt. Then the bad guys become paralyzed.
"It's times like these that make me want to go straight!" James says.
Then they all fall into the water.
"Now I know how it feels to be all washed up!" James says, paralyzed.
Then Jessie says, "We'll never come clean!"
Soon, Team Rocket is sucked into the machine and comes out through the other end. And as usual, they are sent flying.
Finally, Team Rocket screams, "Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again!"
In the gym, Pikachu continues to be pulled in by the hose.
Diana exclaims, "Oh no!"
"Pikachu!" Misty panics.
Hana runs around the pool as fast as she can to turn off the machine. Pikachu is soon sucked down into the water and pulled into the hose. Hana quickly reaches the machine and climbs on it.
She jumps to the switch and screams, "Pikachu!"
Finally, she pulls the switch down, causing the machine to reverse. Pikachu is the first to fly out and Misty catches him in her arms.
"That was close," Misty says.
Hana runs off the machine and to her friends.
Hana happily calls out, "Pikachu."
"Pika pi," (Hana) Pikachu cheers.
Pikachu jumps into Hana's arms and she gives him a hug. Pikachu snuggles against Hana's face with a smile. Misty seems the two happily reunited and knows that it's Hana's bravery that saved her Pokemon and the gym's Pokemon. Misty has an idea and knows that it's the right choice. Soon, after the group sees that the gym might need some repairs.
Hana turns to Misty, "I guess we didn't get to finish our match huh?"
"You could say your match is kind of washed up," Chase says.
"Very funny," Akira says, rolling her eyes.
"Pikachu," (Oh brother.) Alistair replies
"Oh well, I'll just have to wait until I can get the Cascade badge," Hana says.
Misty walks up to Hana and says, "Wrong."
Hana turns to Misty with a confused look. She sees Misty holding the Cascade Badge.
She then says, "i'm giving this badge to you."
"Really? How come?" Hana asks.
"Well, you and Pikachu saved my Pokemon and all of us as well. If the battle had continued, I thought you would have won the whole match," Misty says.
"Seel Seel Seel." (You really deserve it, girl.) Seel says.
"Take the badge, Hana. You deserve it," Misty says.
Hana smiles and says, "Thank you, Misty."
Hana takes the badge and she looks at it to see it shine.
She then turns to her Pokmeon, "You all did a great job today. We not only got the badge but we saved all the Pokemon."
The Pokemon cheer with glee.
Later in the evening, Hana and her friends are going to say goodbye to Misty and her Water Pokemon.
Misty says, "I also have something to give to you all for helping me out."
She then presents a tray that has four Pokeballs, but different colors. It has dark blue on the bottom, pale blue on the top, and all around is gray and cyan blue.
"What are they?" Hana asks.
"They're dive balls. They're used to help catch Pokemon that live in the water. There's one for everyone," Misty says.
"Thank you, Misty," Hana says.
Hana and her friends take the Dive Ball and place them in her backpack. After that, the group walk away as they wave goodbye to Misty. Misty and her Pokemon do the same.
"Bye Misty!" Hana says.
"Well, see you someday," Diana says.
"Bye Hana. Bye everyone. And thank you," Misty says.
The group continues to walk and leave Cerulean City to go on the next part of the journey. Hana is able to win the Cascade badge, and she and her friends have received Dive Balls from Misty. And so, they continue on their way. As the journey continues.
