Hello:)
This is a story I have used for my English work, so I thought it would be good enough to be published.
Don't be fooled by the start or the title, this is NOT a reddie break up story :)
And yes, I have used the flowers in this story because of the meaning behind them.
I hope you enjoy this story:)
There will be flashbacks so don't worry if you don't understand some of it.
Present Time - Sunday 16th March 2008 17:05pm
Isolated. Alone. Melancholy. All these feelings she felt as she walked dejectedly through the park. "I knew this was a stupid idea!" she muttered incoherently. The rain drizzled down as the sky became darker. The blustery winds continued as the flowers seemed to sway sorrowfully. Her usually gracious hair dangling limply from her head. She gently lowered herself onto a nearby bench and cautiously placed a hand on her rounded stomach. She should have apologised, stopped the situation before it had escalated. It was his child after all.
Flashback one - Sunday 26th February 2006 14:30pm
The beautiful rose lay elegantly on the bench with crimson petals adorning its features. The beauty of the flower had astounded him, and he had stopped and had admired the flowers with the passion and love that he had required for so long. After a few minutes he had stopped studying the rose as he had heard footsteps, and had berated himself for getting lost in his thoughts. He had looked up, not knowing that his life would change from that glorious moment.
A woman had been standing adjacent to him and his jaw had dropped to the floor. She had been the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Her achingly soft and wavy auburn hair flowing elegantly onto her shoulders. She had looked up shyly at him, nervous beyond belief. This exact moment had changed their lives forever.
Flashback two - Sunday 16th March 2008 16:45pm
"I've had enough Rachel! I am fed up of you running away all the time, I have never given you any reason to doubt me!" Eddie, her fiancé, had shouted. He had hidden the tears in his eyes. Not wanting to show how the situation had affected his emotions.
"I'm sorry" Rachel whispered, as she had sobbed her heart out. She had never thought after their first meeting in the park, that they would have ever have been be this close to breaking point in their relationship.
So, she had done the worst thing she could have done in this broken situation. She had ran.
Present time
Rachel regretted the whole moment. 'Why did you run, you made the situation worse!' she continued to scold herself as she curled into an upright foetal position.
"Rachel" she heard a person call from behind her. It was Eddie holding a Camellia flower in his right hand, umbrella in the other hand. She stared, shocked. And she didn't understand how, but they were suddenly running towards each other, Kissing each other soundly when they had been reunited. Embracing each other warmly as Eddie pulled back and tucked the flower behind her ear, the rain continued to pour down as they stood under the umbrella. Nothing could stop them holding each other, not even gravity.
