(Charles' Perspective)

The latex creature with the gas mask -'Dr. K' as Colin had told him- stood up.
"So, you're telling me an entire remaining colony, one of the last in the world, was destroyed?"
Colin nodded. "Yup. And he's possibly the last from that colony."
"I'm sorry, Charles. This news is tragic for both of us." Dr. K said,
and Charles nodded.
"I didn't have many friends there, but it was home." He said.
Dr. K looked back at Puro and Colin.
"What will you do now? And what should we do about Charles?"
Charles said "I'd like to travel with them. They're cool."
Dr. K shook his head and said "Now that I know the latex is outside as well, it wouldn't be safe for you, unless-"
Colin said "You don't need to do that, K! Change the subject."
Charles had a feeling that the doctor wanted to Transfur him with the serum Lin mentioned.
Dr. K changed the subject.
"You said the crystal from the latex dragon's lair tried to persuade you to touch it. I want to examine it."
Charles grabbed his bag and started searching it.
"Where is it? I had it somewhere... Wait. There it- Oh."
Charles held his hand up. The crystal had stabbed him through a hole in his glove.
Puro and Lin gasped. Dr. K shook his head in disbelief.
Charles was worried. "It only cut, it wasn't enough contact... Right?"
A single droplet of latex appeared. Then another. Then, it was on his entire hand.
He collapsed to the floor, staring at the black goo that was absorbing his arm. Colin started arguing with Dr. K.
"K, do something!"
"I can't, there isn't a cure-"
"Used the stuff that transformed me!"
"It might cause a cross-transfur!"
"Just do it! Now!"
The shouting around him became a whisper, then... Nothing.
Charles could feel himself melt, dissolve, change into something else piece by piece.
He couldn't hear anything as he fell asleep, except for maybe...
Something in the distance. Laughing.
