A/N: Granted, this one may not be much different, but that doesn't mean that there isn't at least one major difference.

Alvin and the Chipmunks Meet the Wolfman

Chapter 7: Rehearsal At Home

Later, Alvin was discussing some things about the werewolf with Simon via monster book.

"Simon, it all fits together! Listen to this. 'Even a man who is pure at heart and says his prayers by night may become a wolf when the Wolfsbane blooms and the autumn moon is bright.'", Alvin spoke before closing the monster book.

"Your point?", Simon asked.

"All right. Let me spell it out for you. What is it Mr. Talbot has planted in his hedge and flowerbeds?", Alvin asked.

"Is that your toughest question? Specimens of Aconitum, of course! Otherwise known as monkshood or...", Simon began.

"Go on. Say it, say it, wolfsbane! Which, as anyone knows, keeps werewolves away.", Alvin spoke before the doorknob started turning with Alvin and Simon gasping before trying to flip the chalkboard as Dave entered.

"Hey, fellas, have you guys seen...? Hey, what are you guys up to?", Dave asked.

"Oh, nothing much. Just going for a world's record.", Alvin responded.

"Um, yes. That's right. It's the most consecutive tic-tac-toe games...ending in a draw.", Simon responded.

"Oh. Well, um, listen, have you seen Theodore?", Dave asked.

"Yeah. I think he was in the backyard.", Alvin responded.

"Oh.", Dave responded before closing the door with Alvin and Simon sighing in relief before the former flipped the chalkboard back as the latter wiped his glasses before the door opened again with Alvin hurriedly flipping the chalkboard, inadvertently hitting Simon.

"Ow!", Simon exclaimed as the glasses went up and then fell down before Dave opened the door again.

"Thanks.", Dave thanked before closing the door again before Alvin and Simon sighed before looking for the latter's glasses, which happened to be in top of Theodore's bunny.

"When we find my glasses, remind me to kill you.", Simon spoke to Alvin just as Theodore was rehearsing his lines outside.

"'That's right, my dear. It is I, Edward Hyde. Gaze well upon my face, for it is the face of...'", Theodore rehearsed before grumbling and then trying again.

"'Gaze well upon my face, for it is the face of...' Oh. 'Gaze well upon my face...'", Theodore spoke, not knowing that a shadow was creeping up behind him.

"'For it is the face of evil!'", Dave finished as Theodore gasped before turning to see him in fright before passing out.

"Theodore! A-Are you okay?", Dave asked.

Meanwhile, Simon, who found his glasses, was now doing homework when Alvin crept up and then set his Monster Book at the bottom of Simon's bed, taking him aback as he yelled before Alvin climbed up and then went to the same spot before showing him a certain page.

"Look. It's right here. It says, 'Many wolves carry symbols of wolves.' Do you remember Talbot's cane? The one with the Wolf head?", Alvin asked.

"Yes, I do. He might even have wolf baseball caps and little ceramic wolf figurines, and souvenir wolf jelly jars.", Simon responded sarcastically.

"Oh, I'm happy you're amused. The handle is made of silver! Why? Because silver kills werewolves!", Alvin exclaimed.

"What's your theory? That he plans to club himself to death?", Simon asked before Alvin turned to the book and then went to another page, this time showing a picture of a person who had a glowing, dark purple wolf paw print symbol on his hand.

"Please, Alvin. Let's face it. Nothing we've found proves that Mr. Talbot is a werewolf!", Simon pleaded in exhaustion.

"Oh, yeah? What about this? The mark of the Wolf. Every werewolf has one.", Alvin spoke.

Meanwhile, Dave and Amy were checking on Theodore as he woke back up.

"Theodore...", Dave spoke.

"Are you okay? What happened?", Amy asked.

"Uh, sorry. I was practicing my lines, and I guess you just surprised me.", Theodore responded.

"I didn't mean to scare you. I just wanted you to hear how the next line should be read.", Dave responded.

"Oh. You did it great, Dave. But...I-I'm just not scary.", Theodore responded.

"Not yet. But you can be.", Amy assured.

"Yeah. Just think about Mr. Hyde and how he feels. Part man, part monster, angry at the world, different from everyone else.", Dave agreed.

"That sounds like Nathan.", Theodore giggled a bit.

"Don't remind me...", Amy growled before quickly growing puzzled for a moment.

"Uh..., anyway, yeah. Try thinking about him. Say your lines in a way you think he would.", Amy responded before Theodore thought it over for a moment and then picked up the script and tried again.

"'Gaze well upon my face, my dear, for it is the face of evil!'", Theodore read before laughing maniacally.

"Whoa! I scared myself!", Theodore grinned.

"Great job, Theodore.", Dave grinned.

"Yeah. At this rate, you'll be doing well for the play in no time.", Amy added just as Talbot was nearby on the other side of the hedge.

"Oh! Hi, Mr. Talbot.", Dave greeted.

"Hello.", Talbot greeted.

"Dave, I'm feeling a little bit confident right now, so I'm gonna hurry and do something I've been afraid to do. Okay?", Theodore asked.

"Sounds great, Theodore. And congratulations.", Dave grinned before Theodore then ran, inadvertently dropping the script in the process.

"Oops.", Theodore spoke.

"I'll get it.", Dave assured.

"Thanks.", Theodore thanked before getting out his amulet necklace as a gift for Eleanor.

"Hurry, it's getting dark!", Dave urged before Theodore then ran straightaway.

"That reminds me, Uncle Dave. Any chance I can come over to Talbot's house? To..., you know, keep him company?", Amy asked.

"Well, Amy, I'm not exactly sure. What do you think, Talbot?", Dave asked.

"She's welcome to come over. I have some things I want to discuss with her, anyway. And no, she's not in any trouble.", Talbot assured.

"Well, there's your answer.", Dave responded.

"Thanks, Uncle Dave. See you in time for dinner.", Amy grinned before she then walked over to Talbot's house as meanwhile, Alvin was pitching suggestions with Simon having quite enough of his obsession.

"So, all we have to do is get a look at Talbot's paws, uh, hands. And then...", Alvin began before Simon spoke his mind.

"That's it! Over, finished! I am through.", Simon spoke while walking to the chalkboard and erasing the monster-like statistics.

"What do you mean?!", Alvin exclaimed.

"I am done with this ridiculous werewolf hunt. I have other things to do with my time", Simon replied.

"Such as? Homework, learning my lines for the play, helping Dave with the attic, getting...", Simon began before Alvin groaned.

"Well, aren't we the responsible one.", Alvin spoke with a glare before Simon responded by throwing a chalkboard eraser at Alvin by the back of his head.

"Oh, fine! Stick 'em up, buster.", Alvin spoke before he and Simon started fighting each other.

A/N: And here, we have the 2nd of the 3 surprises for the story. If you want to know how it'll go between Talbot and Amy in the next chapter, well, let's just say that the latter will soon get a better understanding of what's going on. :)
