Episode 50: Pokemon in Dreams and Contests

Later in night, everyone is sound asleep and resting up for the second round of the Wallace Cup tomorrow. Out of nowhere, Hana lets out a scream in fright and many of the lights from the rooms are beginning to turn on.

In their room, Hana screams as she clutches her head, and her scream causes Pikachu, Diana, and the others to wake up in a fright.

"What the?" Chase exclaims.

Diana hurries to Hana, "Hana, what's wrong?"

"Hana, are you alright? What happened?" Akira asks.

"I… I don't know! I... I was dreaming. Some kind of awful nightmare. And there were these strange images, it… it was horrible," Hana says, feeling scared.

"I can tell. I almost jumped off the bed when I heard you scream," Diana says.

"Do you think it's stressful for the contest tomorrow?" Chase asks.

"No… no. It's not the first time. I've had these strange dreams before. They started some time after I left Viridian City on my Pokemon Journey," Hana says.

Suddenly, they hear a weird knock on the door. Akira walks to the door as Pikachu hops on the bed and snuggles Hana. Hana takes Pikachu in her arms and hugs him tight. Akira opens the door to reveal Jeanie and Athena.

"Jeanie? Athena? What are you doing here?" Akira asks.

"I heard Hana scream so I went to see what happened," Jenaie answers.

Athena then says, "And I like to know so I can get some beauty sleep. Did something happen?"

"Hana's been having creepy nightmares," Diana says.

"What about?" Athena asks.

"I… I'm not sure. I… I was in some kind of lab, and I think I saw a Pokemon that is inside a large tube or container full of strange liquid with wires connected on it. And… there were these scientists. They seemed excited when the Pokemon woke up. However, they seem to want to do some kind of experiment on it. The Pokemon was so… so angry and upset, wondering if its purpose was to be an experiment, that… that it destroys the lab with everyone in it with powerful psychic attacks," Hana explains, scared and continues to hold her head.

"How awful," Jeanie says.

"That must have been frightening," Athena says.

"It was. Why am I having these dreams? And that voice? It keeps wondering where he is? What is he? What is his purpose?" Hana says.

"He?" Diana says, confused.

"Yeah. The voice sounds like a boy, so that's why. He also seems to want to see the outside world. He really wishes he could be there," Hans says.

The group looks at each other and then Hana with confused looks.

"It sounds almost like," Chase says.

"Like you were somehow inside that Pokemon dreams," Jeanie says.

"That or… could it by your Psychic abilities," Akira thinks.

"Psychic abilities?" Athena says, confused.

"Yeah. Hana is able to use psychic abilities because she was trained by her mother who is a Gardevoir and her father who was a Gallade, and other Psychic Pokemon. It could be that Hana is somehow using her dreams to connect with this Pokemon mentally, or the Pokemon is sending you it's memories," Akira theorizes.

"It's possible," Chase says.

"Maybe we'll worry about it in the morning. It's pretty late," Diana says, and pushes Hana gently down so she'll lay on the bed.

Then tucks her in.

"She's right. We have a long day tomorrow. Second round of the contest is tomorrow," Jeanie says.

"And some of us do need beauty sleep," Athena says.

Chase then says, "We'll call Professor Oak tomorrow, maybe he can give us an idea."

"Okay," Hana says, with a soft nod.

Jeanie and Athena leave the room so they can return to their rooms. Pikachu lies next to Hana and sleeps with her. Akira and the others turn to their rooms and sleep for the night.

The next day, Hana and the others wake up, get dressed, and reach the Pokemon Contest Hall. While there, they decide to contact Professor Oak.

"I see, so you've been having dreams about an unknown Pokemon in a lab. Then you saw its anger and it destroyed the lab," Professor Oak replies.

"Yeah. I don't get why am I having these dreams. It feels that the Pokemon is a living being, and I can feel that it's showing off a lot of negative emotions: sadness, angery, resentment, and loneliness," Hana says.

"I see. I believe that it is possible that your psychic abilities must have been linked to this unknown Pokemon. And from the way you describe it, it must be a psychic type," Professor Oak says.

"That's what I was thinking," Hana says.

"Yeah. You have experience with Psychic Pokemon, so you would know," Diana says.

Hana blushes, "I suppose."

Then turns to the professor, "Professort, do you think I'll get to meet this Pokemon someday."

"It's hard to tell since we have no clue where this unknown Pokemon is. However, with your string of luck, it's possible you and your friends will have an encounter with it," Professor Oak says.

"I do hope so. I can sense that it must be lonely, and I'm sure it can use a friend," Hana says.

Professor Oak smiles, "I'm sure you will become friends with it, and I'm sure the Pokemon would want to be friends with you too."

"Thanks Professor," Hana says.

A little time later, the second round of the Pokemon Contest: The Wallace Cup is starting. Hana and her friends along with Jeanie, and Athena are in the dressing room for the next show. Pikachu, Pichu, Alistair, and Winnie are having a snack as the contest gets started. The group watched the screen to see Lillian on the stage.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, we're back on our second day of the Wallace Cup. Today we'll begin with our Contest Battle Round," Lillian says.

Then turns to Wallace, "So Wallace, do you have anything to say to our remaining Coordinates?"

"I bid all of you lovely Coordinators hello. It's time to bring your excitement and passion to the world, and I thank you all," Wallace says.

Lillian then announces, "Now it's time for the second round. Coordinators have five minutes to take out your opponents points. Those that hold the most points will move on to the next stage. And now, our second stage match up will be shuffled by the contest computer."

The screen shows the sixteen pictures including Hana, Diana, Jeanie, and Athena's photo. The computer shuffles the cards and finally the opponents have been decided.

"And here they are. Presenting the second stage matchup card," Lillian adds.

The group looks at the screen. They see which stage they are in. Jeanie is on the first stage while Hana is on the third. Athena is on the sixth stage. Diana is on the last stage.

"Looks like I'm up first," Jeanie says.

"Yeah. And I'm last," Diana says.

"Well then. We'll just have to see what happens now. It's the battle on this point," Hana says.

"Then let's do it," Diana says.

Lillian says, "Now that the stages have been decided, we'll start with our first Coordinators and with 5 minutes on the clock, let's get busy!"

With that, Jeanie starts with her battle with Meganium. Another Male Coordinator brings out GranBull. With that, the two begin to battle.

Song:

I want to be the very best,

Like no one ever was.

To catch them is my real test,

To train them is my cause!

Jeanie battles against the other Coordinator and tells Meganium to use Vine Whip. At the end Jeanie is able to move on to the next round.

Song:

I will travel across the land,

Searching far and wide.

Each Pokemon to understand

The power that's inside!

Hana then competed in her round. She uses her Milotic while another trainer uses a Shedinja. They both battle and Hana's Milotic gains the winning blow by using Aqua Tail.

Song:

Pokemon!

Gotta catch em' all!

It's you and me,

I know it's my destiny!

Pokemon!

Oh, you're my best friend,

In a world we must defend!

The next battle is Athena's who is using her Flareon while another Coordinatore uses a Kecleon. She has her Pokemon dodges Kecleon's attack and then counters it with Flamethrower, helping her move on to the next round.

Song:

Pokemon!

Gotta catch em' all!

A heart so true,

Our courage will pull us through!

You teach me and I'll teach you,

Po-ke-mon!

Gotta catch em' all!

Gotta catch em' all!

Diana is able to use her Lilligant for her round and another uses a Snorunt. The Snorunt performs an ice attack, but Diana helps Lilligant dodge and then uses Energy ball for the final blow, moving her on to the next round.

Song:

Every challenge along the way,

With courage I will face!

I will battle every day,

To claim my rightful place!

The second stage starts and Jeanie uses Piplup for the next round. Her Piplup uses Bubble Beam to attack her opponent's Sneasel. Sneasel counter attacks, and then Piplup performs ice beam. Soon, Jeanie moves to the Semi-finals.

Song:

Come with me, the time is right,

There's no better team!

Arm in arm, we'll win the fight,

It's always been our dream!

Hana uses her Shiny Eevee as it uses Swift on her opponent's Spinda. Hana's Eevee then rides on one of the stars. Jumps and hits the Spinda with Iron Tail. Hana then moves to the Semi-Finals.

Song:

Pokemon!

Gotta catch em' all!

It's you and me,

I know it's my destiny!

Pokemon!

Oh, you're my best friend,

In a world we must defend!

Athena has her Glaceon in the next round. Glaceon performs Ice Shard. And then perform Icy Wind as the Ice Shard turns into a snowball. Then directly hits on her opponent's Delcatty, and then reaches the semi-finals as well.

Song:

Pokemon!

Gotta catch em' all!

(A heart so true,

Our courage will pull us through!)

You teach me and I'll teach you,

Po-ke-mon!

Gotta catch em' all!

Gotta catch em' all!

Diana has her Roserade in the competition. Roserade dodges the attack from a Loudred and then Roserade performs Magical Leaf for a direct hit. Diana and Roserade have enough points to move on to the semi-finals.

After the long day of battling against other Coordinators, tomorrow's event is going to be the semi finals and then the final round of the Wallace Cup. Since the contest is over for the day until tomorrow's last rounds, Hana and the others are having dinner at the Pokemon Center with Jeanie. As Hana has her dinner, she also has her Pokemon Egg on her lap.

"I can't wait for the Wallace Cup tomorrow," Diana says.

"Yeah. And it's been shown that I'm going to be against you, Jeanie," Hana says, turning to the Coordinator.

"Yeah. I can't wait for tomorrow," Jeanie says.

"Sounds good. But you have to remember, Hana is no pushover," Diana says.

"Yeah. I can tell from the way she battles," Jeanie says.

"Yeah. And Diana will be going up against Athena, right?" Hana asks.

"Yeah. She is very good with using her Eevee Evolution Pokemon. She is amazing. But you know, it got me thinking," Diana says.

"What's that?" Akira asks, feeding Winnie with her bottle as Alastor eats.

"It makes me wonder how I should evolve my Eevee. Not only that, but Hana has two Eevee and either one of them can evolve into one of the eight forms," Diana says.

"Hmm, I see what you mean. However, I do like to make it their choice. If they wish to evolve, they'll let me know if they want to use an evolution stone or evolve without one. I like to give them the option," Hana says.

"I see what you mean," Diana says.

Jeanie turns to Hana, "Maybe you can ask them. Plus, I think you actually have a few Pokemon who can evolve using a stone, like Pikachu."

"Nah. Pikachu wants to keep being strong as a Pikachu, right buddy?" Hana says.

Pikachu nods his head, "Pika pika." (That's right.)

"What about Winter? I remember reading that she can evolve into an Alolan Ninetales using an Ice Stone, right?" Jeanie asks.

"That's right. However, I'm not sure if Winter is ready just yet," Hana says.

"I see," Jeanie says.

Then asks, "So Hana, when do you think your Pokemon Egg is going to hatch."

Hana looks down to see the egg, "I'm not sure. It will hatch when it will hatch. It took a little time for Winter to hatch."

Suddenly, Hana notices the egg gives off a flashing light. Hana soon becomes surprised to see it.

"My egg just flashed," Hana says, surprised.

"Really?" Chase asks.

"Yeah," Hana answers.

Akira says, "That means, it's going to hatch soon."

"I can't wait," Hana happily says.

Jeanie asks, "So Hana, do you think you'll be okay?"

"I hope so. I don't know if I am able to handle another strange dream," Hana says.

"Still, I have to find it strange that a strange and mysterious Pokemon might have been able to contact you, or possibly you somehow make a mental connection to it," Akria says, curious.

"That is true. Hana and I looked up all the Psychic Pokemon we can think of. So far, there isn't a match to Hana's description," Chase says.

"And Professor Oak is planning on looking into it," Diana says.

"Sounds like you all have a real mystery on your hands," Jeanie says.

"Yes. I do hope we figure it out soon. I… I don't know how, but I feel that this Pokemon needs help," Hana says, sounding deeply concerned.

"Don't worry Hana, I'm sure we'll find it. Then we can help it," Diana says.

Hana smiles and says, "Thanks.

In the hotel room, Hana, Diana, Akira, and Chase are all ready for bed for the night. Alistair and Winnie are already sleeping for the night. Pikachu is also sleeping on Hana's bed as well.

Hana stretches her arms, "Boy, this has been a crazy night and an exciting day."

"You can say that again. Tomorrow will be the semi finals and then moving on to the Final," Diana says.

Chase says, "And who knows, maybe you two will be competing against each other in the finals."

"Maybe," Diana says.

"True, but first, Diana has to battle against Athena while Hana is against Jeanie," Akira says.

"Yeah. And those two are very well Coordinators as much as Diana, so it won't be easy," Hana says.

"I'm sure you'll do fine. Win or lose, at least you tried something new," Diana says.

"You're right. Who knows. Maybe I'll compete in the Pokemon Contest as well as the Pokemon League. Maybe someday," Hana says.

"I think you'll make a great Coordinator. Despite being a trainer for the league, I'm sure you'll do great someday," Diana says.

Then Chase says, "Plus, it will expand your knowledge of raising Pokemon since you're a Pokemon Breeder and a trainer."

"Right," Hana says and sits down as she holds her egg.

Suddenly, the Egg begins to glow bright causing Hana and the others to be surprised. Pikachu, Alistair, and Winnie wake up from the bright light and become surprised.

Hana says with a smile, "Already."

Hana then places her egg on the bed as she sits next to it. Pikachu, Alistair, and Winnie jump on Hana's bed as Akira and the others walk toward it to see the Egg hatching in front of them. The egg glows until it pops into pieces. When the glow disappears, Hana and the others are left with a surprising shock.

What they see are two little serpentine Pokémon. One of them has a blue body and a white underside, white, three-pronged fins on the sides of its head and a white bump on its forehead. Above its round, white snout are oval, purple eyes. Another has a purple-pink body and a silver gray underside. It has silver gray, three-pronged fins on the sides of its head and a silver gray bump on its forehead. Above its round, silver gray snout are oval, red eyes.

"Whoa! There are two Dratinis," Hana says, surprised.

Wow! You have twins and one of them is a shiny Dratini," Diana says.

"Yeah. The blue Dratini is a little boy and the purplish pink one is a girl," Hana says.

Just then, both of the baby Pokemons turn to see Hana and look at her curiously.

"Hello little Dratinis, I'm Hana. It's nice to meet you," Hana says.

Both of the babies Dratini squeal and slither on Hana's shoulders to snuggle against her cheeks. Hana giggles as their nuzzling tickles her. Diana and the others smile to see Hana being tickled by her new babies.

Later in the night, everyone in the room has fallen asleep for the night. Diana has Pichu and Ember sleeping with her. Akira is sleeping with Alistair and Winnie. Chase is sleeping on the bed by himself. Hana is sleeping with Pikachu, and the two new Dratini twins. Along with the rest of her little ones, Winter, Latios, Latias, Meloetta, Cubone, and the Eevee Twins. Hana and her friends sleep happily the night away, waiting for the last of the Pokemon Contest the Wallace Cup to continue. As the Journey Continues.
