CHAPTER 2: ACE'S NEW SELECTION (For a limited time only)

Later that day after school, Sally and Michael were on a date together. They decided to head out to Ace's Ice Cream Shop for some ice cream before heading back to her house for a study date. Charlie Brown and Frieda were at Frieda's place so they would have the house to themselves, save for her mother Maureen and Wyatt. As they walked in to Ace's, they spotted a sign for a new flavor of ice cream.

"Salted Caramel Delight?" said Michael as he read the sign. "You want to try it, Sally?"

"Sure, Sweet Babboo," chirped Sally. They got in line to get some. Rudy Ace, Jr. was behind the counter.

"What will it be, kids?" he asked.

"Two of the Salted Caramel Delights on cones, please?" said Michael.

"How many scoops per cone?" asked Rudy, Jr.

"One for me," said Sally.

"I'll have two," Michael replied. And Rudy, Jr. served the two lovebirds their cones. After paying for their ice cream, they sat down and tried it out. Both of them loved the new flavor.

"This is possibly the best Ace's has ever offered!" said Sally, digging the new ice cream.

"I agree, babe," said Michael. "Hopefully it stays on the menu." They both spotted Snoopy, also trying out the new flavor. He had multiple scoops of ice cream, of course.

"That dog of your brother's must have a bottomless pit for a stomach!" said a shocked Michael.

"Trust me, this is Snoopy holding back," said Sally. "You haven't seen him in the middle of a feeding frenzy, yet. One time at Joe's Café, he devoured five Joe Burgers in less than two minutes! The average human can only eat TWO of those at the most, and I can't finish half of one."

"Good grief, he's greedy!"

"Tell me about it!" After eating their ice cream, they went over to where Rudy, Jr. was to tell him about the new flavor.

"Junior, that was the best flavor I've ever eaten!" said a happy Sally.

"Glad you like it," said Rudy, Jr. "It's too bad it's only a limited time offering."

"What do you mean?" asked Michael.

"It's only here for one more week," Rudy Jr. replied.

"ONLY ONE MORE WEEK?!" yelled a bewildered Sally. "Why would your dad only offer it for such a short time? He needs to keep this on the menu!"

"I've actually tried to convince him to do that, but he said he has too much on his menu as it is," said Rudy, Jr., sighing.

"What if we petitioned to keep the Salted Caramel ice cream on permanently?" wondered Sally.

"It's worth a shot," said Michael. "What do you say, Junior?"

"Go for it," said Rudy, Jr. "What have we got to lose?" And Sally and Michael left to get their study date going, in addition to finding some petitions so they can make the flavor permanent.
