Look, we're all kind of weirded out by Rin and Sesshomaru canonically hooking up. Not so much because it's Rin, but because she's so young. At the end of Final Act, when Kagome returns, Rin is 11 years-old. In Yashahime, in the episode where Towa and Setsuna are born, Hisui looks to be maybe 2 or 3 (and let's be honest here, 3 is being generous), which means that the oldest Rin could have possibly been in that episode was just barely 14; however, we have to take into account several factors, including the mindset of that era versus our own, and then, of course, Rin's and Sesshomaru's own feelings on the matter. I wrote this to sort it all out on the matter, and I hope you all enjoy it. :)

WEIRD

"I'm gonna say something to him."

"For the love of all the gods, please don't."

"Why the hell not?!"

"Because it took two hundred five years for you two to be on I don't resent your existence and want to end your life terms, and we shouldn't risk it."

"Bu-but what he's doing is wrong!"

"By whose standards?"

Inuyasha sputtered at the question, and Kagome felt an amused smile tug at the corner of her lips, knowing that she had her husband with that one. The half demon sat next to her on the floor of their hut, staring intently into the fire pit where they awaited the rice to come to a boil. As they spoke, she was trying to sew closed a slight tear that had appeared in Inuyasha's hanjuban; unlike his fire-rat suikan, the white garment she was mending was normal silk and would not fix itself. Inuyasha's shoulders were tense and his face was red in a mix of anger and embarrassment as he seriously considered the question that she had shot back at him.

Finally, with a reluctant sigh, his shoulders slumped and he gave her a pouty look of defeat. "Just… ours, I guess."

"Inuyasha," Kagome said in a lovingly fond tone of voice, leaning forward to press a chaste kiss to her husband's cheek. "You have no idea how proud I am of you for having picked up some of my time's sensibilities, but answer me this: if you had never gone to the future, and you had never taken the time to try and understand some of the ways I thought, would you still be upset about this?"

Again, he paused in thought as he considered this next question, and not for the first time, Kagome pondered over Inuyasha's maturity. Granted, he had most certainly had his serious moments back when they were traveling all over Feudal Japan, looking for jewel shards and hunting Naraku, but more often than not, his response to any negative emotion or situation had been to lash out, which made everything worse. When she had come back after three long years, Kagome had quickly noticed the subtle differences in her beloved's personality. Yes, he could still be brash and reckless, but he also considered things a bit more before saying something or taking action, especially if she were the one offering the counterargument.

"Okay, but it's still weird," Inuyasha finally relented (somewhat), his pout deepening. "She's so… little."

"You still see a child," Kagome laughed, finally laying down her stitching, silently half tempted to ask Sango to do the mending for her. The former demon slayer was far more apt with sewing delicate fabrics than she could ever be. Kagome wished cotton would hurry up and make it to Japan already, but knew that wouldn't happen for another 450 years. Damn trade routes and politics.

"She is a child!" Inuyasha replied indignantly, giving Kagome an outraged look. "She's not even 14 yet."

"Do you remember when you first started coming to the future with me, and you couldn't understand why I was still treated as if I were a child over there?" Kagome asked. "What did you say to me when I told you that it was because I was a child?"

Inuyasha heaved a slightly defeated sigh, and gave his wife an okay, you might be winning smirk. "I said that you were already an adult, because your body said you were."

"And by those standards — the standards of every person here in the Feudal Era — is Rin an adult?"

"Yes," Inuyasha relented in a reluctant voice, rolling his eyes, but Kagome could see that he was still unsatisfied with that answer.

"Okay, how about this," Kagome said, gently bumping her shoulder with her husband's, shooting him a patient and loving smile. "Does Rin love Sesshomaru?"

Inuyasha growled, his face reddening again as he grumbled. "Gods only know why, but… yeah, she does."

"And is she being forced into marrying him?" Kagome asked, gently taking his hand in hers, her smile widening when he tightened his hold and brought their clasped hands up to press a kiss to the back of her hand.

"No, definitely not."

"And, now, the final and most important question," Kagome said, her voice holding a tone of grandness as she prepared to drop the most telling question on him. "Does Sesshomaru love Rin?"

"Yes," Inuyasha answered immediately, without thought or consideration. "Yes, he loves her more than anyone in the world."

"Then I think we have the answer as to what to do, don't we?" Kagome replied, reaching up with her other hand to caress her husband's cheek and draw him into a deep kiss. When they parted, Kagome couldn't help but laugh at the defeated, fine, you win expression on his face.

"It's still weird," he grumbled, seemingly not satisfied until he had the last say, and Kagome rolled her eyes. "I mean, he practically raised her like a daughter!"

On that, Kagome couldn't argue, but it was bad enough that he knew that she agreed with him without her having to say it out loud, but she knew what would distract him.

"I wonder what their kids will look like," she said in an innocent tone of voice, and then she laughed loudly at the confused turned stunned turned maliciously amused expressions that contorted his features.

"That's right! Ha! That hypocrite's gonna have half demon pups! Oh, I can't wait to rub this in his stupid face!"
