Episode 3: Silent and Deadly

10:27 P.M. – The Groove

As the spies moved forward to find Jazz Hands and James, something happened to come over May after finding out Klee is actually from the future AND Nick and Alex's future daughter, of all people.

It was almost similar to the sadness from the sinking of the Titanic.

What does this mean for Nick and me? May thought.

"I wonder how Jerry's gonna react to this news on Klee," Blaine told the group.

"And I thought Clover was already looking to going that far with a boy..." Mat added.

"Hey, I was just looking for a boyfriend, honestly," Clover quipped. "Whatever happens after that, we play it by ear."

"I never said it was bad, Clover," Mat remarked. "Seriously, you go through more boys than I do waiting for Chad Reed to win his next Supercross race and/or title."

Sam and Britney got a chuckle out of that.

"Nick?" May called out.

Nick looked on and could tell what was on May's mind, especially after they'd become a couple following the first mission in Tachikawa where Johnny was killed at the hands of Millia; the second mission in Tachikawa where Ami's grave was desecrated by Macker the Safe Cracker, only to be later killed a second time, didn't help either.

"Don't say anything, May," Nick emphasized. "I don't really need to read your mind to understand what you're probably thinking right now."

"Guess I'm too obvious, huh?" May chuckled. Before she could even attempt to look sad, however, Nick pulled May into his arms.

"May, do you remember what I said when we were fighting Violet and her gigantic Biollante?" Nick asked. "Just because Alex is my girlfriend doesn't mean I love you any less. And I reaffirmed that when you became my girlfriend, too."

"...well, to quote a sci-fi movie I watched recently, 'the future is always uncertain'," May responded. "When Klee dropped that bombshell on us, I guess I panicked, you know, worrying over what's gonna happen with you and me... I... I just..."

Deciding right then and there that he didn't want May to start crying, Nick pulled May closer and kissed her, a kiss she gladly returned despite her concerns.

"Let me put those fears to bed right stat now, 'kay?" Nick stated. "I love you, May, and that is an absolute fact. No matter what the future brings, no matter what goes on between me and Alex, I promise you that you will always have a place in my heart. Don't ever forget that, okay?"

May finally let a few tears fall as she leaned over to kiss Nick again. "I definitely won't," May laughed. "I love you, too, Nick."

"My goodness, I hadn't realized..." Melissa remarked after Nick and May had concluded that heart-to-heart.

"I hope May doesn't take this way harder than she did when she discovered she had feelings for Nick," Britney added.

"Ditto," Dawn quipped. "Nick came a long way with Alex, for sure – same goes for Mat with Sam."

"Right," Haruka remarked.

With that, the spies managed to immediately find Jazz Hands and James.

("Rock Me Amadeus" by Falco plays)

"All right, mime boy, this is the end of the line!" Bridget declared.

"You say that every time, you know. What makes you think you're going to beat us this time?" James scoffed.

"Okay, mister evil ex, that's getting really old!" Klee proclaimed.

"I'll say," Mat replied. "It started getting old after the second time you spy-napped me... which you WILL answer to, by the way!"

"And what do you think you're going to do, little runt?" Jazz Hands taunted at Klee.

"I would advise against underestimating Klee, buddy!" Nick exclaimed. "She may be younger than us, but she's got some moves."

"And WHY she's on our team is for you to find out..." Mat retorted. "And good luck trying to get somewhere with THAT!"

He even threw a look to Sam, who caught on and nodded.

"Yeah," Alex remarked. "Because Klee is a teammate you'll NEVER have!"

"But we know that Sam IS one WE WILL have!" James proclaimed.

James was met with a kick to the privates, courtesy of Sam not even two seconds later. Jazz Hands was almost set to gloat that Sam was all his until HE was met with a kick to his own privates as well. They groaned and writhed in pain as Sam stood back next to Mat.

"You two are people I DO NOT WANT!" Sam proclaimed. "You two can screw yourselves instead of me while my Mat-honey belongs to ME ONLY!"

"You heard the lady," Nick quipped.

"Bah! We'll get her if it's the last thing I do!" Jazz Hands stated once he and James felt the pain go away.

James didn't like hearing that, even IF they were a team.

As the two began butting heads again, Sam and Nick saw an opportunity.

"Allow me..." Klee declared, stepping forward. "YOU'RE DONE TERRORIZING BEVERLY HILLS!"

"You tell 'em, Klee!" Clover exclaimed.

"Oh, come off it, you little runt," Jazz Hands proclaimed. "Do you really think you've got what it takes?"

Klee glanced at Nick, who nodded to her as if to say "go nuts", then she turned back to the villains and clenched her fists, then threw them out and let her aquatic-blue psychic aura erupt to life around her.

Naturally, both baddies were flabbergasted. "W-wait, no one told me the runt had psychic powers, too!" James exclaimed.

"Well, I figured if I'm going to find the jerk who wiped my memories, I'd need a bit of a 'level-up', shall we say," Klee answered, spinning what she hoped was a believable cover story. "So, Jerry let me borrow the Psy-Stones so I could attain my own powers."

"Honestly, does it really matter how many psychic brats your team has?" Jazz Hands cackled. "Once you're trapped in my cage, you won't be escaping."

Five of the earlier mime henchmen moved to surround Nick and Klee, trapping them in a large invisible cage.

"And yes, I remembered to make the invisible ceiling this time," Jazz Hands laughed. "So, you wanna try running your smart mouth now?!"

Nick and Klee just nodded to each other before aiming their hands towards the walls of the invisible cage, psychic energy charging up in their hands.

"Oh, we'll 'run our mouth' as often as we want," Nick quipped. "Because you obviously don't know everything we can do."

"How about we show 'em exactly what we're capable of?" Klee giggled.

Nick and Klee both threw their hands out at the same time, unleashing a massive two-pronged psychic pulse wave that was enough to knock down the walls of the invisible cage.

Nick quickly slammed his hand into the ground to unleash a Zero Gravity that sent the mime henchmen floating helplessly, then both Nick and Klee turned their attention to James and Jazz Hands.

"You were saying about running mouths?" Nick taunted.

"Because now you're really gonna get it!" Klee exclaimed.

Nick was the first to go on the offensive, firing off a Final Shine Attack to knock Jazz Hands back into James.

"You're not touching Sam or Mat, got it?!" Nick shouted.

"Forget it, boy, she's mine!" James shouted...

...only to be slugged in the face by Jazz Hands.

"Didn't I tell you that 'Miss Spirit Fingers' belongs to me?!" Jazz Hands growled.

"What part of she's my girlfriend do you not get?!" James shot back as he pounced on Jazz Hands. "I've known her longer than you have!"

"Yes, but I actually charmed her more!" Jazz Hands taunted.

"I seduced her into stealing for me!" James growled.

"This is tripping me out," Clover admitted as the remaining spies watched James and Jazz Hands fight each other over Sam. "Is this tripping anyone else out?"

"Okay, good, so it's not just me," Alex quipped.

"It's making me sick," Sam groaned. "They seriously think I'm just their possession to lord over?!"

"You know, I think I see our opening, Sam," Mat stated. "How about you and I get in there and put an end to this pile of crazy?"

"Exactly what I was thinking, honey," Sam giggled as she and Mat rushed in to strike while the two villains were arguing.

"Get off me, mime boy!" James shouted.

"You stop planting your foot in my keester!" Jazz Hands shot back.

"Hello, boys."

Both villains stopped their quarrel and saw both Sam and Mat glaring intensely at them, annoyed expressions highlighting their faces.

"Are we in trouble?" Jazz Hands asked.

"Because of your possessiveness, yes," James quipped.

"Oh, look who's talking!" Jazz Hands shouted.

"Don't you give me that lip, face-paint freak!" James proclaimed.

Suddenly, both villains were covered by an aquatic blue light and frozen in their spots.

"Oh, will you both just shut your yaps already?" Klee quipped, her right hand raised to snatch James and Jazz Hands in her own psychic hold. "You don't even realize it yet, I bet, but your dumb and petty and dumb argument is why you lost. Sammy, Mat, give 'em heck."

"Oh, that was always in the cards, Klee," Sam quipped as she and Mat approached the helpless villains.

James and Jazz Hands could only scream in shock and horror as Sam and Mat grabbed them and smashed them straight into each other, knocking them both out instantly.

"And you lose," Sam proclaimed. "I sincerely hope you've learned your lesson this time, you two. I will never be your anything, and that is freakin' final."

Nick walked up to the unconscious villains and raised his hand to encase them both in a psychic bubble, then flicked his hand upward to send them off to containment.

"Well, that's another case closed," Nick quipped. "Good riddance to those two possessive blabbermouths, honestly."

"Tell me about it," May replied. "Their own arguing became their undoing in the end."

"All right, I think we'd better check in with Jerry and see if there's anything he can do to help us with Klee's situation," Bridget stated.

"Good idea!" Alex proclaimed.

11:15 P.M. – W.O.O.H.P. Headquarters

"Wonderful work as always, spies," Jerry proclaimed. "Both James and Jazz Hands are back in containment, thanks to you."

"And hopefully they'll stay there this time," Sam quipped.

"Now, to something we saw during the battle," Jerry stated. "I noticed that Klee displayed very similar powers to Nick."

"That's... actually what we came here to talk to you about, Jerry," May answered. "Klee actually dropped quite the bombshell on us before we got to The Groove. It turns out that she's Nick and Alex's daughter from the future."

"Yeah, we were just as shocked as you are," Melissa admitted, noting Jerry's surprised face.

"I haven't fully recovered my memories yet, so I have no idea what year I got thrown back from, but I'm sure I'll get that memory back soon," Klee admitted.

"Probably the big reason we can't use the Time Twister to just take her back right away," Haruka realized.

"And probably because of mister joke in the cloak, too!" Klee exclaimed as she walked up to the office desk, retrieved a pad of paper from her messenger bag along with some colored pencils and started to draw what she'd remembered. "If you see someone wearing this cloak, let me know immediately, Jerry, because I'm pretty sure cloak boy's the reason I got thrown back to the past."

"Roger that," RiCO proclaimed as she took the picture that Klee had drawn and scanned it into her archives for future reference. "So... what are you going to do in the meantime, Klee?"

"I'm gonna stay with everyone here until my memories fully return," Klee answered. "Then, once they do, we'll most likely use the Time Twister to go back to my time and knock around whoever did this to me."

"Yeah, and if joke in the cloak was able to send you backwards through time, who knows what else he's capable of?" Nick quipped. "We'd better keep an eye out for that guy."

"We will continue to monitor the situation as best we are able," Jerry proclaimed. "Ta-ta for now, spies."

With that, Jerry pressed a button to send everyone back to the beach house.

12:03 A.M. – The Spies' Beach House

After the spies were sent back, Sam and Britney shared a nod for executing what they wanted to do for Mat.

"This should be good," Haruka commented as Sam escorted Mat to the TV.

Sam, Britney, and Mat all enjoyed a movie night by themselves, but they fell asleep after the third movie.

As for the others, they were all centered on another Smash session.

9:09 A.M. – The Spies' Beach House

After a night's sleep, the spies reconvened in the den for breakfast.

"Well, now we know at least one key thing about Klee," Bridget replied. "One thing that I don't think ANY of us would've seen coming."

"No doubt about it," Nick told Bridget. "Klee's our future daughter?!"

"It's a lot to take in honestly," Alex quipped.

"I'll say," Mat stated. "I don't think I would react any differently if that were Sam and I in your shoes."

"You got that right," Sam quipped.

"I'm almost eager to find out whom our future kid would look like," Mat told Sam.

Sam was in-between. Britney looked on, showing the same worry May had with Nick; Mat immediately saw this.

"Brit, you don't need to feel like that," Mat insisted. "You and me as a couple is just beginning; yeah, Sam and I have come a long way, but as much as I love Sam, there's ALWAYS gonna be room for you, too."

Just hearing that warmed Britney's heart for sure.

"Give it time, Britney," Nozomi quipped. "Nick and I made it pretty far before unforeseen circumstances forced us to break up."

"I'll second that," Nick remarked. "It wasn't Nozomi's fault for sure; we're still on good terms with each other, after all."

"I'm still blown away that Klee called Alex 'mama' to be honest," Clover told the others as she thought about Blaine.

"You and me both," Haruka stated in agreement.

"But I wonder how much further into the future Klee is from," Melissa replied.

"Do you know, Klee?" Mat asked.

"That's sadly one of the things that's still escaping me," Klee admitted. "But hey, it doesn't really bother me that much! I've still got my mama and papa in this time to help me out!"

Hearing Klee call Alex "mama" sent a warm and tingly feeling inside.

"I guess I have a long way to go with Blainey," Clover sighed.

"But it'll work out," May assured her.

On that note, Clover and Blaine were just beginning as a couple as well.

"I think I'm more surprised there's a second sports junkie among you guys," Klee stated, changing the subject, referring to Mat's Motocross series.

"I guess there's quite a few things about us Klee doesn't know about," Nick quipped.

"Well, Mat's really into his Motocross series," Sam replied. "We didn't really know how big a fan he was until the Vegas finale last year when he was left really sad and upset."

"I cheer for Chad Reed and he lost that title by two points to Ricky Carmichael," Mat clarified.

"That's a bummer," Klee responded.

"You shoulda seen how bummed out I really looked," Mat added in. "But anyway, there's a little while until the next race at Red Bud where Ricky goes for win #101, and Millville for win #102."

"It's one thing to have over 100 career wins," Nick commented. "But 100 wins in Motocross alone is a damn sure sign you're successful!"

"Almost like us," Nozomi remarked.

"You could say that," Sam quipped.

"Speaking of success," Alex remarked, changing the subject. "I say we give Klee a little 'test' since I was successful on the Bev High Swim Team before."

Alex even looked at Nick to see if he was in.

"Yeah, no problem," Nick quipped. "I'll bet this ought to be good."

As Nick, Alex, and Klee went away to the pool, Sam turned to Mat.

"Something wrong?" Mat asked.

"Well, it's not related to Klee," Sam started. "But I did have something similar in my dreams about our futures together..."

"You discovered we have a future kid, too?" Mat guessed.

"No," Sam answered. "Just that... I could see us in our future house together that looks similar to our beach house."

Mat looked pretty surprised.

"And a future me had a newborn baby in her arms," Sam added.

"OMG," Mat proclaimed. "Before you know it, that is gonna be reality."

He looked on to see Britney out of the corner of his eye and threw an arm around her.

"You know I won't ever leave you, Sam," Mat replied. "Especially you too, Brit."

"Hey, you guys, come check this out," Clover told Mat, Sam, and Britney. "Klee's about to prove if she is or isn't a swimmer like Alex is."

"Ooh, this is gonna be good," May giggled as the rest of the spies made for the pool to see how this would unfold.

"All right, you two, are you ready?" Nick proclaimed as Alex and Klee prepared themselves. "Here's how this is gonna go down. You're both gonna go back and forth across the length of the pool, and the first one to clear three laps wins."

"Roger that!" Alex and Klee exclaimed.

"Okay, then, let's not waste any more time and get going!" Nick stated. "On your marks... get set... SWIM FOR YOUR LIFE!"

With that, Alex and Klee dove into the pool, leaving the spies to excitedly observe the epic swim race that was taking place.

For most of the race, Klee and Alex were neck and neck, neither one giving any ground. But, in the end, the race went to Klee by just a few inches.

"Way to go, Klee!" Bridget exclaimed.

"I may never again be so happy about losing a swim race," Alex laughed, leaning over to hug her future daughter. "You're amazing, Klee."

"Well, mama, where do you think I got my skills from?" Klee giggled.

"PIRATE DIVE!" May shouted as she changed into her own swimwear and cannonballed into the pool, with Nick not too far behind.

"You know, I'm all for this," Haruka proclaimed. "Let's hit the pool, everybody!"

There were no arguments there as the rest of the spies jumped into the pool to enjoy another beautiful day.

And as Klee continued to show off her swimming skills, only one thought was running through her mind.

Future mama? Future papa? I'll be home just as soon as I can. But I don't think you have to worry about me. Because I'm in good hands.

Totally Spies: Mime Your Manners

~The End~

Final Notes from Mat49324: And our 30th project has been completed. I'll bet that the bombshell on Klee took you all by surprise, eh? I know I was blown away myself. Will we see anything similar to Sam and Mat sometime down the line? We'll certainly see. For now, we certainly hope you enjoyed every minute of reading Mime Your Manners as much as we did creating all 3 chapters. The fun for Mime Your Manners may be over, but our projects are certainly not! We've got another one coming up which will be authored by The Blue Time Ranger. For now, we hope you'll join us for our next project, Jealousy Jaunt, and here's the Blue Time Ranger with anything he'd like to say (if any).

Final Notes from The Blue Time Ranger: And that's a wrap on our thirtieth project! Holy crapbaskets, we've done THIRTY of these things now. That's quite the feather in our cap, honestly.

Now, about the big plot twist revealed here. Yeah, how many people saw it coming that Klee was going to be Nick and Alex's daughter from the future? I honestly wanted to hold it off for a couple more episodes, but as what tends to happen with me, I had a flash of inspiration and I had to pounce on it before it got away. But there's actually still a few more big things to reveal about Klee, like how exactly she got thrown back in time by "the joke in the cloak", but those will be for another day.

Finally, let's talk about what's happening next time on Totally Spies: The New Adventures. Hikari's coming back to visit, but her friend Makoto is acting pretty strange around Nozomi, almost like he's got some kind of romantic intentions. What's Nozomi going to do about that? Well, you'll have to wait until our next adventure, Jealousy Jaunt, which will be posted by me. So, until next time, have a fantastic day, don't listen to the screeching morons, enjoy this preview of Jealousy Jaunt, and we'll see you next mission!

-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-

"So, this was where you found yourself after getting kidnapped?"

"Jeez, Makoto, you're making it sound like an extremely hammy soap opera..."

Hikari glanced around as she and her film class partner Makoto exited the airplane that had dropped them off in downtown Beverly Hills, unable to stop a smile from breaking out.

Hikari was very much looking forward to this week, since she'd finally managed to schedule a week off of her film class to go visit her old middle school friend Nozomi. The two of them had experience a sort of "impromptu" reunion a while ago, when Tuesday Tate and Sunny Day had kidnapped Hikari to subject her and countless others to their Re-Modelizer device.

"Well, that's kinda what it sounds like," Makoto laughed as he slung his backpack back over his shoulders. "And holy crapbaskets, it's hot as hell here!"

"Well, California's much more tropical than Tachikawa, right?" Hikari giggled. "Your fault for only packing one set of clothes for this climate."

"Hey, it's not as if I've ever been outside of Japan," Makoto admitted.

"Well, if we ever get jobs in the film industry, you'll probably have to get used to it at some point, since lots of movies and TV shows film all over the world," Hikari responded.

"That's gonna be a learning experience in itself, but I assure you it's gonna be worth it," Makoto quipped. "That would be quite the feather in our caps, huh?"

"If we can drag Yosuke away from his girlfriend, that is," Hikari laughed.

"Those two, honestly..." Makoto sighed.

The two Japanese college students had no idea that they were being watched from the shadows.

"Hmmm... we have some film connoisseurs, it seems like," the figure laughed. "I could definitely use at least one of them in my latest scheme. The script is so perfect, it almost writes itself..."

To be continued in Totally Spies: Jealousy Jaunt...
