Monster Hunters

Synopsis: Uzumaki Naruto and Aono Tsukune are about to start their high school experience. After a hair-raising bus ride, the two new students arrive at the nightmarish looking Yōkai Academy. They soon discover the real secret of the Academy. With no way of escaping the school and the students getting rowdier and deadlier by the day, the two freshmen had to do something to survive.

Author's Note: Naruto does have whiskers on his cheeks, which will be explained later. Kitsunes are S-class in this story, along with Sirens. I just thought I would tell you all that. I plan on using the cast of both mangas of Naruto, Rosario + Vampire, and some OC's to buff up the cast. There weren't that many characters in the R+V manga and the anime. I also plan to make world politics matter, add more monster world locations, and more teachers of new classes that make sense for a school that teaches monsters to fit in with humans. A bit of warning though, I said this story would be a tad bit brutal. I felt R + V could have done more; there is a fan fiction story called 'He Who Fights Monsters' by hawker-748. This is by far my favorite R+V fan fiction. I plan for this story to suspenseful rather than some buddy-buddy comedy romance. Not saying there won't be romance or friendship, they will be there, but they come later.

Tags: Author's universe, cannon breaking, and lore changing. If you plan for the same events to happen in this story, you will be dead wrong. This story will be more brutal.

I rubbed my eyes as I looked away from the book I had been reading, putting my pencil down. I let out a sigh as I glanced back at the book. It was an old book, an ancient text. The binding of the book was super loose, barely holding the book together. However, the old text had been everything I ever needed and more—the complete history of monsters, witches, classifications, and known species.

It had only taken me about an hour of looking around aimlessly in the library to find. I had refused to talk with a soul today besides Naruto; I looked at the clock in my room, 'One thirty-six? Well, yesterday it seems.'

I shook my head. Well, Naruto-san had been right about the library; it did have a book about various monsters. I didn't think they would keep the information so available, but yet here I was, sitting in my dorm room with this old text in front of me. The librarians had been so surprised that a Freshman would come to the library on the first day that they had let me take the book before I was supposed to!

The text was insightful in many regards. It had started with the creation of the monster species. 'It was curious, but then again, the word monsters was a loose term. It only was a word used to group all species together. It would also seem that all monsters were born by a child from a demon and a human. The stronger the demon, the stronger the new species was.' It was self-explanatory but, at the same time, not.

It was quite hard to believe that the Devil, demons, God, and angels existed. Then again, I was going to a school full of monsters. 'Maybe it wasn't that hard to believe after all? There are so many stories out there of monsters that we should believe they exist.'

There were many classifications, but the front topics covered the elites or known as Tier one, Alpha Zeta. 'Apparently, these monsters are born super powerful. These monsters are the highest order of monsters, the elite, the most feared. All Alpha Zeta monsters have demonstrated abilities that completely overwhelm other monsters of lower rank. Only those with the most talent and ability can become Alpha Zeta. To go against one without superior planning, numbers, and luck is paramount to suicide.'

'If that was true, how come there are stories of them falling in single combat with humans on occasion?' I pondered and fished around my mind for an answer that continued to elude me.

Then there were the weaker but no doubt strong monsters of the lower classes of the Beta Zeta. Then there were middle-tiers Gamma Zeta and Delta Zeta, and finally, the weakest of the monsters tiers, the Epsilon Zeta. There was also another class called Omega Zeta, but these were humans with magic properties, like witches, warlocks, ghouls, and zombies. They were named border species, and they didn't get along with humans and monsters too much. It was bad enough to know monsters exist but to see witches and zombies too! Man, what didn't exist at this point?

I stopped my thoughts, eyed my notebook, and then the copy I was going to give Naruto-san. He had given me one of his own to copy my notes into, along with a map he had gotten from our homeroom sensei. She had gotten the maps from the Headmaster, which was crazy because I think that these maps weren't just the regular student issued ones. I hadn't had a chance to look over the map all that well yet, but there was something odd about it. I just couldn't put my finger on it.

I focused my gaze on my notes once more. 'We are so screwed if we run into one of these Alpha Zeta monsters.' I had gotten the profile on the five Alpha Zeta species done: Kitsunes, Phoenixes, Serins, Vampires, and Werewolves. I had stopped at the page on phoenix because it was the last one in order for some reason. 'At least we won't run into one of them. They only live in North and Central America.' I yawned as my hands went over my head in a full stretch. "Time for bed," I said as I got up from my desk. I double-checked to make sure my door was locked, then jumped in bed. Not fully ready for what tomorrow might hold.

Entry Title: Day 2 at Yōkai Academy

I awaken to my alarm going off. "Ugh, already that time, huh?" I uttered out, looking around my room. I hit the button on the digital clock on the nightstand and got up from my bed. I made my bed, got my clothes and bathing supplies ready for my shower.

The good thing about the academy was that all dorms were like a small apartment rather than just a bedroom. We got a small kitchen, a bedroom, a bathroom, and a small living room. There was not going to be-.

There was a swift but loud knocking on my door that causes me to jump up in the air from fear. I almost lost my hold on my clothes and bathroom necessities. Someone was at my door, 'But who could it possibly-'

"Hey, Tsukune, open the door quickly! It's me, Naruto!" came the panicked voice of my blond friend.

"Of course it would be Naruto-san," I let out a relieved sigh, but I was quick to realize the tone of voice. He was terrified of something! I set my supplies down in a hurry and opened the door. I wasn't prepared for what happened next.

Naruto-san rushed into my room carrying a shopping bag, "Hurry, close the door!" He orders me. I did so and locked the door. I stepped away from the door like something was going to come bursting through it.

"Naruto-san, what's wrong?!" My concern raising by the second, and I didn't dare turn away from the door. 'Please don't tell me someone found him out. This isn't good. What are we going to do? I'm far too young to die!'

"Dude! I just saw the creature from the black lagoon back there in the hallway talking with the fly, you know?!" Naruto-san explained, entirely out of breath.

I frown at my friend, realizing that the situation wasn't as bad as I had first feared. I spun on him. "Man, you scared the daylights out of me," I told him and started walking to him. "I thought you were found out or something, or maybe evening being chased!"

Naruto-san stood up straight and looked at me in the eyes, "Sorry to worry you but trust me when I say this, if you see them in their monster form," He pointed to himself with his thumb and leaned a bit closer, "you will be as terrified as I am."

I gulped, taking his warning seriously, "That bad?" To shake Naruto-san so much, I fear I would react far worse.

Naruto-san stepped back and ran his hands through his hair, "Worse. Some of them were easy to get past, others" The blond shivered, Naruto-san actually shivered! "not so much. I'm gonna have fly nightmares for fucking weeks!"

"What?" I wondered. 'That was the second time he referred to something called the fly.'

Naruto-san raised an eyebrow at me. "Have you never seen the movies 'The Fly' with Jeff Goldblum or the 'Creature from the Black lagoon?'"

I shook my head at him, "No, I haven't."

He threw up his hands in the air in defeat or frustration, and I couldn't really tell which it was. "Nevermind!" He pointed at me and grinned, "You'll see what I mean, you know."

"I really don't want to now! I think I'm feeling ill, to be honest."

"Hah?!" He fumed, getting in close, "Did my so call friend decided to let his only friend here go out in a high school full of monsters on his own?"

"I-I, It's just a joke, Naruto-san. What's that you have in the bag?" I said to change the topic quickly.

"Bag?" He looked down before his eyes widened, "Oh shit, the bag!" He remembers as he lifted it with a large grin, "Here, you're going to need this."

I blinked at the bag he was holding out. I reached out and took it from him. I opened the bag that was from the school shop. I was a little surprised by the contents of the bag. "Hunter's shampoo, detergent, and soap? Um, thanks? But what do I need these for?"

Naruto-san looked at me like I was the crazy one, "Tsukune, you can't be serious!" Naruto-san facepalmed, "You remembered what that freak said in class yesterday? How he smelled a human somewhere?"

I nodded; that was going to be a real problem here at this school. If every monster can smell us, how will we blend in? We can't, and someone will figure it out, and we will both be dead. "Yeah, but what does that got do with these?"

He raised an eyebrow before he nodded in understanding, "Ah, I see. You have never been hunting before. The first thing you should realize is that you have a scent. It follows you where you go. It even lingers around for hours. Animals can smell us, I'm sure you know that, but I'm guessing we also stick out here too. We smell good to them, and not in the good way. We need to get rid of our scent. Those are cleaning supplies that will help take away our smell and make us smell like nature. Thus, we will never smell human. Well, unless they get too close, then there is nothing we can do."

That last part he said was not reassuring, but what could I do? He obviously knew more than I did on the subject. "I can't believe the school has a shop with this in it."

"Nah, dude, you have to see the shop." He throws his arms out wide, "It's like a giant mall that's open for twenty-four hours. They got shit in that even had me confused." He told me with amazement in his voice.

"That doesn't sound very hard, Naruto-san," I joked about his intelligence.

"What you mean?" He asked, raising an eyebrow at my jest. He really didn't get it. He could be dense, it seemed.

I laughed, "Nothing." I looked at the bag and tightened my grip on the bag. I smiled gratefully at him, "Thank you for looking out for me, Naruto-san."

Naruto-san rubbed the back of his neck bashfully, "Yeah, anything for a friend. I'll also tell you some more tips to reduce your smell when you get washed up. You mind if I wait here?"

"Nah, oh!" An idea popped into my head, "You can look at the notes I took while I take a shower."

"You mean from that book you found? Nice job! I'll do that. How far did you manage to get?"

"Well, I got five strongest monsters done, how monsters came into being, and their classification," I informed my friend of my notes. "Just remember to give back to me by the end of the day so that I can add more." I made sure to tell him.

"Alright, I'll make sure to do that, and I'll take a look at it now." Naruto-san asseverated.

"You might want to look at the last page I got done. It's about the Phoenix. They only live in the US. I left the notebook on the table." I suggested of him.

"Huh, sounds like my kind of bird then, you know," Naruto-san said, walking over the desk. I gathered my clothes and went to the bathroom for a quick shower. "Make sure you clean yourself very well, and I mean everywhere!" Naruto-san called out from the other room.

"I will!" I gave him a quick reply. I took a quick shower, dried myself off, brushed my teeth, and finally got dressed. It took me about ten minutes to do all of this. I stepped out of the bathroom and saw that Naruto-san was indeed looking over the notes.

He looked over at me when he noticed that I had finished, "Well, I can't say I'm surprised about God, but the rest of this…, it makes sense when looking at the big picture. I have to say this just makes my faith stronger than before, knowing about demons, monsters, angels, the devil, and God. Anyway, enough about that, you ready? I wanna get some breakfast before going to class."

"Yes, I like that Idea, Naruto-san." I agreed with him easily. We left my room without incident. I didn't get to see any of those so-called crazy appearances Naruto-san had told me about. I had some fish with rice while Naruto-san had two bowls of ramen. We then went to homeroom. The room filled up pretty fast, surprisingly. Only two seats remained. The door slid open, and I looked over to see a girl strolling in with a skip to her step.

She has shoulder-length light ocean blue hair tied in a ponytail with a purple maid headband with one gold star on the left side, deep purple eyes, thick long black eyelashes, large breasts, and was short, around five foot much like someone else I know. She was wearing the standard uniform with a red bow tie and a miniskirt that looked precisely like the school's uniform skirt. She also has on white baggy seifuku sailor fuku schoolgirl uniform socks and plain black dress shoes. I remembered her name from yesterday's rollcall, Kurono Kurumu.

Of course, this got the class, the guys, to literally comment on her how pretty or hot she was. They were not shy here at this school. Not one bit. She only stood straighter at the praise, bashed her eyelashes together, gave them smiles and waves. She smiled at me too, and I looked away from her as I felt the heat rise on my cheeks. She made her way to the desk beside Naruto-san. Naruto-san didn't he raises his head from his desk when he noticed who walked in. He just went back to looking out the window.

'Leave it to Naruto-san to not be affected at all by that girl's charm.' I thought. 'Or he is just good at hiding it.'

The door opened once more, and the class, this time both the girls and guys, all commented on the new arrival, much to the blue-haired girl's anger. She was a tall, fair-skinned girl with knee-length pink hair with bangs swept to the right side, green eyes, full pink lips, and a cute girl-next-door face. She has a rosary attached to a black choker. She was wearing the same school uniform without a tie, ribbon, or bow-tie. She smiled and greeted everyone with a cheerful expression showing her white teeth. I happened to notice that a set was a bit longer than usual. Her name was Akashiya Moka. Everyone pretty much got louder at her friendly personality as people asked her to be their friend or even girlfriend, and Kurono-san snapped her pencil in half as she grits her teeth.

'Boy, these guys work fast, and what's her problem?' I wondered with narrowed eyes in thought. An idea came to me, 'Is she jealous of the attention that Akashiya-san is receiving?' She had to be. There was a loud screech of Kurono-san's chair as she stood up quickly. This action, of course, drew the attention of everyone in the class.

Kurono-san marched up to Akashiya-san, "Who do you think you are stealing my thunder!?" It also looked like she said something else so only Akashiya-san could hear her. Akashiya-san looked scandalized at what was happening to her. She had no idea that she was going to be targeted for acting friendly.

'This can't actually be happening.' I thought in disbelief that something so childish was taking place. Akashiya-san had no control over how these students acted.

"W-W-What? I'm not stealing-" Akashiya-san was cut off as Kurono-san interjected.

"Save it! I won't lose to you, Akashiya!" Kurono-san raged.

"Man, if I would have known Japanese schools were like this, I would have paid attention more." I facepalmed at Naruto-san's words.

"Is this really a good time to comment like that, Naruto-san?!" I asked my friend in a hushed whisper.

He raised an eyebrow at me with a smirk, "Scared Tsukune? It's not like I said it loud enough."

"From this day one we enemies be prepare because I-"

Once more, the door to the classroom opens as Nekonome-sensei enters in high spirits, "Good morning class-," said high spirits died fast as she stumbled upon the confrontation. "Oh my!" The two girls broke away from each other, with both being upset and heading back to their seats. The classroom became awkward for a whole minute before Nekonome-sensei gave rollcall before beginning class. The class went on without anything of interest really happening until the last ten minutes.

"Alright, before class is over, we are going to go over a few things. We have two items we have to get done before the week is over. The first thing we will discuss is school clubs and sports. Here at Yōkai Academy, you must join a club or a sport. You may also do both if you want to. These activities are meant to help you get involved with your fellow peers while also learning how to fit into the human world. There will be a club fair for all the Freshman class to see after school today through Friday, with Friday being the last day to join up for a club. If you haven't joined a club, you will be forced to pick from the clubs that are left. I recommend the Newspaper Club, as I am the adviser! It is a relatively fun club in which you will spread the news of the school. We need members, and all are welcomed!" The teacher promoted her own club.

'Nothing like self-promotion! Hmm, sports probably wasn't a good idea in a school full of monsters. Being faster and strong than me. Clubs sound fun, but once again, it depends on what I would be doing.' I thought going over both possibilities, 'Newspaper Club doesn't sound too bad.'

She frowned when she didn't see anyone seem too interested in her club. I, for one, was. It seemed pretty normal to me. Normal was good, very good. I was going to have to get Naruto-san's opinion on the matter. I don't feel comfortable being by myself when I knew there was another human I can be with.

"Well, moving on then," she became utterly dejected, "onto the second item. This year, there are currently twenty-five classes of forty students, this academy's largest Freshman class ever! Each class here at Yōkai Academy has a class representative voted on by the students of the class. These representatives will make up the Freshmen student council. Out of the twenty-five representatives, three will hold office as Class President, Class Vice President, and Class Treasurer. By the end of the week, we will need to have at least two candidates for a vote; if only one person volunteers, they will be class president." She informed the class. She looked around the class, "Does someone want to volunteer?"

I notice that Akashiya-san started to raise her hand before I heard Kurono-san call out. I turned to see the beautiful blue-haired girl with her hand raised. Her gaze wasn't on the teacher but rather Akashiya-san. I wanted to sigh. 'Is she really going to fight with Akashiya-san on everything she does?'

I watched as the points of the teacher's hair move as they twitched. I blinked and sighed. Those two pieces of hair that stuck up were ears, weren't they? Nekonome-sensei has a big smile on her face at hearing a voice. "Oh, Kurono-san, are you volunteering, or do you have a question?"

"I might volunteer, but I have, like, a question regarding what the class representative does? Like, what would I do? Is there, like requirements or something?" The girl shot off a bunch of questions off. They were thoughtful questions that hadn't been answered or had been left out by our sensei.

"Oh good God, she sounds like a valley girl." I heard Naruto-san groaned out in English behind me. Displeasure was laced in his voice. I had no idea what he was talking about, but I was going to put it up there with it being an American thing.

"Oh, Dear me, I should have explained that!" Nekonome-sensei put a hand to her cheek, "Yes, you will basically represent the class. You will have to attend all student council meetings and all your regular classes. You will take the concerns of fellow classmates to the student council. You will vote on changes that the Academy will take under consideration. You will also have to check up on your classmates and reprimand them if they break one of the school rules. You also have to have decent grades too! Does that answer your questions, Kurono-san?"

"Ugh, yeah, not gonna do that." She cringed at what was required, and I could hear Naruto-san snickering behind me, which made me smile too.

I saw the splendid pink-haired girl raise her hand, "I would like to nominate myself for class representative!" There was a big smile on her face and an air of confidence around her. She wanted to do it because she wanted to. The more sensei talked about the role; the more Akashiya-san was interested in it.

"Oh, how wonderful Akashiya-san!" The teacher cheered at the self-nomination. The class broke out in cheers at how they had such a gorgeous class representative. I heard a growl of frustration come from Kurono-san. 'Well, she doesn't like her. Not one bit.'

I felt a tap on my back. I turned my head to give Naruto-san my ear. "Yes, Naruto-san?"

I turned my head when I noticed the smile on his face from the corner of my eye. He had on the biggest foxy grin I had ever seen. I had a bad feeling about whatever he was going to say. "I got a bad but wonderful idea."

"I don't know what you want to do, but I don't like it," I told him, not wanting any part in what he was going to do. We didn't need extra attention being brought our way! Naruto-san was having a lapse in judgment. The class was over in like two minutes! Just don't say anything, and we will make it through the day without starting trouble!

"Hey, teach," Naruto-san called out from the back.

'Oh god?! Why Naruto-san!?' I ranted mentally.

The woman perked up at his call, "Yes, Uzumaki-san?"

"I would like to recommend Kurumu Kurono for class representative." This recommendation caused the room, besides the teacher, Naruto-san, that freaky kid, and myself to gasp in shock.

'He was setting the enemies at each other!' Great, Naruto-san was causing drama! Drama in a school full of monsters!

The teacher completely ignored the fact that Kurono-san had already declined the spot earlier. "Oh, I will add her to the list!" I had the pleasure of seeing both girls turn their heads to Naruto-san. Akashiya-san had an upset but cute pout on her face as she crossed her arms under her chest.

"WHAT?!" Kurono-san exclaimed and sent a heated glare at Naruto-san. "Why you-," she cut herself off and then glared at Akashiya-san, who actually glared back at her. I could feel the tension rising between the two. Most of the class appreciated this extra drama that Naruto-san caused.

Komiya-san was laughing loud and heartily, "Now this is exciting! Good one, blondie."

I saw Naruto-san frown but nodded his head back at the monster. "I thought so."

*ring*ring*ring*ring*ring*ring*ring*ring*

"Class is dismissed!" Our homeroom teacher dismissed us as she got to writing the two names for class representative. Naruto-san and I got up from our seats, and he had a satisfied smile on his face. I noticed that Akashiya-san and Kurono-san were standing in front of each other both of them were quiet, but you could tell that they were debating each other with hushed words. It was a little comical seeing short the short blue-haired girl going in on the taller pink-haired girl. I noticed that Akashiya-san wasn't really paying attention to Kurono-san but rather Naruto-san. Her eyes tracked him until we were out the back door to class. I did not like the look she was sending him.

'Not good, Naruto-san may have made a bad mistake!' I shook my head at the bad thoughts being provoked. "Naruto-san, I don't that was wise."

"Oh, I know that. That was payback."

I put my hands to my face, "Of course it was."

"She's lucky that option came first. I was thinking of doing something else, but that was relatively harmless." He elaborated much to my confusion. Did he not like Akashiya-san?

"You don't like Akashiya-san," I found myself asking out my thoughts.

"No, I do not hate or dislike Moka. I'm more upset at her." Naruto-san somewhat explained his feeling for the girl.

"Naruto-san, you know our situation, why act like this?!" I questioned him in desperation. We didn't need monsters breathing down our backs, and he only brought them closer by doing things like this!

"Be them man or monster; I will always settle the score." Naruto-san pointed at me. "Remember, I am the Great Naruto Uzumaki, master of pranks and daring acts of heroism!"

I rubbed at my temples, "More like daring acts stupidity!"

Naruto-san just chuckled, "No one said you had to be intelligent to be a hero."

"That is beside the point! One of those two will confront us. Aren't you worried?" I asked him seriously, and he took my question seriously with the way his happy-go-lucky smile dropped into a thoughtful frown.

"Let's plan on both of them. Kurono will be the most difficult one to appease. Akashiya will be easier because all we have to say was that it was payback for almost running us over and not apologizing." Naruto-san told me of his plans.

"Wait, I thought she did?"

"If you count her driving off and having me have to yell at her to give us a half-ass apology, then yeah, you are right." Naruto scowled. "If she were sorry, she would have tried to attempt to stop and at least check on us."

"I think you are making this bigger than this needs to be."

Naruto-san sighed, "Yeah, you are right. Deeping on how she approaches us, I will also apologize. I'm not a complete ass. I plan on making this as unconfrontational as possible."

"Alright, Naruto-san, but please be more careful. You have already helped me a lot here, so I don't want to see you make a horrible mistake." I confess to him my concerns about how his little prank might come back to haunt us.

He smiled up at me kindly, "Yeah, you are right. I sometimes get ahead of myself. Next time, try and stop me."

I grinned down at him, "will do." We made it to our next class, which was pretty far away from our homeroom class. We entered and sat down in the same spots as homeroom. I was actually really excited for this next class. This class taught us how to interact with other monsters in the human world and how to identify them.

We waited for a bit, but the class filled with students, and the teacher arrived five minutes before class started. Soon enough, class started.

"Welcome class, to your second day. This is your first official second-period class, Monster Relations one-o-one. This class is here to help you better fit into the human world and better handle the types of monsters you will likely cross. I am professor Fujita Makoto. To start off the year, I always allow the students to pick a monster we will discuss for the first class. This demonstration will be an introduction to how the course will go throughout the rest of the year. When that is done, we will go over what is expected of you in my class. With that said, do we have a volunteer?" The man rubbed his hands together. The teacher was tall with grey hair in a pony-tail, looked about fifty-six, his face was rough, and his skin was dark. He was wearing a brown suit with pants, circle rimmed glasses, and tall, six-four, possibly six-five. Unsurprisingly, no one raised their hand until Naruto-san did. "Ah yes, You in the very back row. Please stand up and tell me your name and the monster you want to be better at interacting with, and the reason for choosing them."

Naruto-san did as he was asked, "My Name is Uzumaki Naruto. I am from the USA, and I want to talk about the phoenix since they live where I'm from." Everyone looked at Naruto-san like he was insane for asking that question. The teacher was astonished. "What, what I say?" Naruto-san asked, looking around the room as whispers broke out all around.

'I should have seen that coming. Naruto-san's from America, no wonder why he asked about them. However, based on the reactions he got, there must be something that the other monsters are fearful with that wasn't in the book.' I pondered, looking at the horrified, disturbed reactions of my classmates.

"In all my years of teaching, that is the first time someone has asked about the phoenix." The teacher admitted. "Very well, now that is a fascinating pick you have there!" Naruto-san sat back down as the man went on. "And probably the most dangerous one you can interact with within the Alpha Zeta ranking. Not because they are stronger than the others but because of how hostile they are towards other monsters." The man paused and then walked behind his desk. "Okay, where do we begin? Oh yes, the phoenix is an Alpha Zeta monster that lives in the Americas but mostly the Southern and Western United States. Unlike all other monsters, they are the most openly friendly with Humans and outright hostile to all other monsters that harm or even try to harm humans."

Someone raised their hand, and the teacher called on them. "Why's that sensei?"

The teacher nodded his head and continued the lecture, "Believe you me, I was going to tell you that next. The reason for this is that while phoenixes are still monsters, they are known as the ascended. Ascended is the word used to call monsters that have sided with God rather than the Devil or the demons they originated from. What the phoenix gains from this are unknown. However, it is believed by some scholars that during the great divide or rift, as some call it, is where they turned and converted towards God. The separation took place during what is called the American Civil War. It was during that war where the phoenix went to war with the other monsters and kicked out and killed the ones that would not convert."

I looked over at Naruto-san and saw him taking notes, which seemed to be out of character with how laid back he could be. 'He must be planning to go back there someday.' That was one thing I wanted to ask him about. I hadn't really put a lot of thought into the US, but I can't say I'm not interested in it.

"They have a Royal and holy attitude as they believe themselves to be the ones destined to save both monsters and man from each other. Many, especially the ones of the main family, speak as if they are multiple beings, using the words we and ours when speaking about themselves. The best way to interact with them is to do what you are doing now. Going to Yōkai Academy will put you on their good list. In recent years they have become more open-minded and have been trying to branch out. Their reasons are unknown, but it is believed that they require more monsters to their side that are willing to work with humans. They are big investors in our school. In fact, a Yōkai Academy branch is set up to go live in twenty-ten in the Americas!" There was excitement in the man's voice at the prospect.

"Now, how do you know if you meet a phoenix beside the strange talking," Naruto-san asked up, not looking up from his notes.

"Good, question Uzumaki-san, but please raise your hand next time." Sensei pointed out Naruto-san's fault.

"My bad!" Naruto-san yelped.

"Yes, now on to the answer. In human form, phoenixes have blond hair from dirty blond to almost yellow; their eye color will always be between yellow and red, and they are all tall. There has never been a phoenix shorter than six-feet-tall."

It was here where the class dulled out as the man went on to tell us how tests and quizzes were going to go. Check the syllabus for the grading questions: due dates and his late work policy. Class ended, and we had English. Naruto-san and the English teacher, Endo Maki, or as he went by, Excellent Maki, got into a long-winded conversation in English. He effectively stopped the teacher from going over things that we were supposed to. We shared that class with Akashiya-san, who looked surprised to see that Naruto-san was fluent in another language. Naruto-san's appearance really didn't help him look intelligent, nor did his demeanor.

Most of the class was happy that the class got a free day. I can't say Akashiya-san looked too happy at the blond. No, it was quite the opposite. She was rather upset that nothing had gotten done. It would seem Naruto-san was only making more upset.

*ring*ring*ring*ring*ring*ring*ring*ring*

Naruto-san and I left the classroom ready for lunch since we had the early lunch. We got our food and sat down at a table closest to the door that led outside.

"I told you I could do it." Naruto-san laughed, slapping me on my back. "Remember, if you need my help with English, I got you, man!"

"Still can't believe you got him to talk with you for a whole hour," I said, still amazed at the feat.

"Don't bet against me!" Naruto-san said out loud, his grin getting more prominent. "Well, what class do we have next?"

"Earth science," I told him as I inspected my own food looking for anything weird or out of place.

Naruto-san clicked his tongue, "Shit, sounds like a drag for sure."

"It's probably not going to be that bad," I affirm, taking a bite out of the rice.

"Nah, it will. Science sucks, man. Who knows how these monsters will conduct in their experiments. You think they will have us cut open a human or something?" He said that absentmindedly. Not really thinking about what he had said. It was enough, though, for me to become too aware that he may be right.

I almost started choking on my food! "I-I hope not!" He brought up a good point. 'Who knows what they would have us do in some of these classes. I'm not looking forward to cooking class!'

"What classes are after that? Literature, P.E., and Art?" Naruto-san asked but also answered his own question. How could he forget but also remember at the same time?

"Yes, that is the lineup of classes," I answered him anyway. "You want to start looking for a club after classes today?"

"I wonder if they have anything good that we could take," Naruto asked more to himself rather than to me.

I decided to bring up my thoughts from homeroom. "Well, how about the Newspaper club?"

"Spare me. Snooping around a school full of monsters looking for stories that might make monsters upset with and try to kill us. Hell, no." Naruto-san shot the idea and club down instantly in a matter of seconds. "Sure, I like our teach, but I ain't willing to stick my neck out for that club. Especially if there are better clubs to join."

"I-I," I stopped and imagined what Naruto-san was talking about. I came to realize that he was right. I could just picture us uncovering some horrible character attacking students only to be killed as we go to unmask them. "I can't believe I didn't think about that!"

Naruto-san waved me off like that oversight wasn't a big deal! It totally was! "Besides, I heard death at this school is common throughout the year. If we join a club, it has to be something that could help us survive this school." Naruto explained in a worried tone.

"D-D-De-Death?!" I stuttered out in shock.

"You think that's bad?" Naruto-san got closer, "I heard the school doesn't really do much about it. They allow it to go on. It's a way they can lower the number of students. Only the strongest and the best will make it. You read the notes you gave me, right? Some monsters just hate each other and will attack and kill one another. Others will just prey on them."

"Please, Naruto-san! This school is already enough pressure as it is without you having to tell me that!" I ranted, keeping my voice low. This school kept getting worse. How are we supposed to make it to the fifth of next month!

"I just thought you should be aware of what's going on. I'm very doubtful that we will have all twenty-five classes left by senior year. I don't believe for a second that all forty students in our class will live up to finish this year." My friend says with a sorrowful look in his eyes. "Believe me, I feel the same as you do, but we got to push forward and be ready for the worst. That's why we need a better club to helps beat these monsters."

"You mean like fighting?" I surely hoped he didn't. I don't know how strong a monster was to a human, but I didn't like our chances of fighting one in human form. Playing sports should be out of the question.

"I know how to fight, but no, that would be crazy. I'm thinking about clubs that do chemical compounds, metalworking, or medicine." Naruto-san rubbed his chin in deep thought. No doubt thinking of something else. Those ideas sound good. Medicine to help wounds, metalworking for weapons, and chemical compounds for toxic weapons. Things that we could hide on us and sping them quickly should we come under attack. Even with all of those ideas he had said, my mind went back to what he had first said.

"Oh, you do?" I looked him over. He looked perplexed at my question. I had to elaborate, "Fight, I mean."

He grinned, "Don't let my short height deceive you, Tsukune. Some good things come from living in the US. MMA is one of those. It is a sport I had dabbled in when I wasn't playing soccer. I learned boxing, kickboxing, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. I don't know how well that will do against a monster, though, and I don't plan on trying it out either."

"That's so cool! You think- er well, um-" I stopped myself when I realized I was gushing a tad bit.

Naruto-san grinned, "Ya wanna learn?" He asked, and of course, I nodded, "Yeah, that a good idea for you. It's better to know some type of fighting than none." Naruto-san said as a matter of fact. "Now onto other types of fighting. I know how to make a few things ranging from funny pranks to dangerous poisons."

"What?!" He knows how to make poisons! "The more I learn about you, the less I want to know!" I murmured jokingly. "But just to settle my curiosity, what can you make?"

Naruto-san laughed at my change of position, "I thought you didn't what to know!" He shook his head, still laughing, "Nah, but I know how to make itching powder, paint bombs, styrofoam napalm, bleach bombs, spaghetti-powered thermic lance, rope traps, and smoke bombs. Other things might work, but if I know what a monster's weakness is…, well, it won't be too pretty for them." He assured me.

I know that Naruto-san said he was a master prankster, but some of those items he listed are just out there. "How- How do you know how to make all of that?"

"Little to no parental supervision and the internet, you know!" He threw up a peace sign.

"Well, that explains it. So after classes, we are going to look for clubs?" I asked to make sure I knew what we were doing.

"Oorah, we're going clubbing!" The blond practically jumped out of his seat in excitement! I can't say I felt the same. Naruto-san tends to forget we are in a school of monsters, or he is trying to make the best out of it. I can't really feel the same way; I didn't have much knowledge in anything that might help in combat or survival. It just felt like that Naruto-san was carrying me along with him.

I shook my head mirthfully at his outburst, "I don't think that's what you mean, Naruto-san."

"Dude, I'm from La. I know what clubbing is! I just thought it worked in the context, you know!" Naruto-san explained with a shrug of his shoulders.

When he turned away from me to started eating his food, I frowned at myself, 'Don't worry, Naruto-san, I will get better, so one day I can help you too!' I couldn't let Naruto-san do all the work. I had to help him too. "Hey, Naruto-san, I would like to know how to make those pranking items too."

Naruto-san turned to me with his mouth open and wide eyes, "Really?"

"Yes, I believe us both making items means we can have more available should we need it." I planned. If both of us could produce the same weapons, then we could fight back faster or even have more spares ready to go if we get in trouble.

Naruto-san pointed his index figure at me, "I like how you think. After we look at the clubs, I'll show you somethings I know."

We finished lunch and made it through our second day smoothly. All the other classes just told us what their expectations were and what we had to do. We moved to the open courtyard, where they had the club booths set up. A few upperclassmen students from the student council were handing out pamphlets with an extensive list of clubs and sports ordered by number. There were some relatively normal ones like the newspaper club, game club, manga and anime club, chemistry club, movie club, yearbook club, robotics club, photography club, and international club. Then they also had sports booths too. Then there were a few that were out there.

"Hey, look, Tsukune, they got workshop club!" Naruto-san pointed out on his own pamphlet and showing me.

I looked over at where he was pointing and the club's location on the little map that came with the pamphlets. "We should go check it out." I determined. Naruto-san agreed. We made our way past some of the clubs that were using as much flare as possible to attract other students. That swimming club was walking around in bikinis and other swimsuits. Naruto-san whistled in appreciation; I had to agree. These monsters' human forms were gorgeous. 'They look so beautiful. Just look at all that skin!'

"Hi there, would you two like to join the swimming club?" A good-looking girl asked us as she approached us. She has turquoise-colored hair along with having fair skin and yellow eyes. She was wearing two light-green hair clips that looked like scales, a purple bikini-top, and bottom with a purple cloth piece tied around her waist. She was wearing purple wedges on her feet that made her taller than she was.

"Lord give me strength," Naruto-san uttered under his breath. There was a scowl on his face. He wasn't too delighted by the older girl's approach.

I blushed as she smiled at me. She was shorter than me by at least four inches without the wedges and was taller than Naruto-san by six inches. She stood in front of us with a pleasant smile on her face as she waited for our answer.

"Sorry, I already know how to swim." Naruto dismissed the idea. I would follow his example.

"Yeah, so do I," I added. She tilted her head, but her smile remained.

"The swimming club is more than knowing how to swim. We have a lot of fun water sports that we do that the school doesn't offer, like water polo, synchronized swimming, and other activities." She explained a little bit about her club. "That and you will have the attention of some of the swimmers from the academy's swim team. Surely, that doesn't interest you? Not even a little bit?"

'If it was any other school, yes, a thousand times." But this was Yōkai Academy. She was probably a water monster or something! 'Naruto-san must have realized this too.'

"Sounds cool and all, but we still ain't interested. Thanks though, what's your name just in case we run into you again?" Naruto-san raised an eyebrow at her. Naruto-san was suspicious of the older girl.

"Ichinose Tamao," she introduced herself as to Naruto-san's request, "I am the lead member of the swimming club and team captain of the girl swimming team. I'm a junior." She smirked down at Naruto-san, "There's no need to be worried, little Freshman."

Naruto crossed his arms, clearly not believing in her, "Ah-huh, well, we have our mindset on a club already."

Ichinose-senpai looked away from Naruto-san then to me, "What about you? He doesn't speak for the both of you, does he?" Her smile was well placed as it took more effort to deny her than it was before.

"I was hoping to be in the same club as my friend. Sorry."

She frowns for a second but smiled anyway, "I understand. Should you decide that the other club isn't right for you, my club will be open."

Naruto-san smiled at her, but I had a feeling it was a fake one to de-escalate any conflict. "We will! You can count on that, you know."

She blinked at the use of English from him. "What do I know?"

Naruto-san blushed, he actually blushed! "Ahh, you understood that. Well, you see, it's a verbal tic."

She put a hand to her cheek a playful smile was on her lips, "That's pretty cute."

Naruto-san only got redder, "Yeah, anyway, let's go, friend, you know."

She laughed wonderfully, "You did it again," She pointed out much Naruto-san embarrassment. She then waved us off, "Don't forget my offer! If you can't come today, at least drop by our tournaments."

We made it to the workshop's club booth with no difficulty at all after that little run-in with the swimming club. Naruto-san decided to do all the talking. "Hello there!" Naruto-san greeted the club member. Only one person was working behind the counter. He looked bored mostly until Naruto-san's greeting caught his attention. He perked up a bit at the voice speaking up to him. He was wearing the same uniform as us. The student has spiky brown hair, dark eyes, and was older than us by at least a year.

"What's up? Are you two interested in the workshop club?" The older student asked, leaning forward.

"You can say that, but what we do in the workshop is what I'm curious about." Naruto-san inquired, looking over the pictures spread out in the booth and the wooden puppets on display.

"Yeah, we do woodworking, leatherworking, cloth working, and metalworking." He averred the club activities.

"Wow, you got all the bases covered! Cloth working too? That seems a bit odd." Naruto-san wondered out loud.

"I know, but we wanted to get more students involved in the arts of crafting. We actually got girls to join the club because of that. You'll be surprised how many girls want to make their own clothes," The monster student whispered to the two of us. "Trust me; it was needed!"

"Okay," Naruto-san raised an eyebrow at that, "That's cool and all, but what do you guys tend to make?"

"You will have five projects you need to complete, and you can make furniture, clothes, armor, weapons, and even decorations. If there is a big project you want to work on, you got to talk with one of the advisers. Since we are a large club, we have four advisers—one adviser per workshop. " The club member informed us of some of the information.

Naruto-san nodded his head, "Sounds awesome!"

"Yeah, great even," I added.

"So you two wanna sign up?" The guy asked, taking out a clipboard from behind him.

Naruto-san looked at me, and I nodded at him. Naruto-san looked back at the other student with a grin and a thumbs-up, "Yep, sounds great to us."

"Awesome, what are your names so I can register you?"

"Uzumaki Naruto and Aono Tsukune," Naruto-san introduced us to the new student.

"Alright, I got you in." He put the clipboard down. He gave us a smirk, "Welcome to the club. My name is Watanabe Kankurō; we meet at the workshop, which is by the main gym after school. Club activities start next Monday, and we will discuss what we will be doing. Until then, have a good rest of your day." I made sure to grab two club information documents off the table—one for Naruto-san and one for me.

"You as well, and nice meeting you, Kankurō!" Naruto-san waves as we departed from the booth.

"Yes, see you, Watanabe-san!" I called back to him too.

"Yeah, you as well, see you in the club Naruto, Aono."

Naruto-san took the lead as we had started walking through a short cut in the forest to get to our dorms. I figured that Naruto-san wanted to teach me some of those tricks he knew. "Well, that's done," Naruto-san spoke up from in front of me. "With that, Tsukune, we now have just to make it until we can start making weapons and armor."

I let out a sigh of relief, "Good, I can't wait to get this all over within a couple of weeks."

"Yeah, you'll be free to go home."

I chuckled, "You mean we will be able to go home, Naruto-san." I stopped and turned away from him to put away the documents for later in my bag.

"No, I mean you."

Everything in that moment stopped. I turned to face my friend, eyes wide. He had kept walking but stopped when he noticed I hadn't moved. He looks at me seriously; his face was neutral, not giving too much emotion away. I couldn't say the same about myself, "But Naruto-san you-"

"I never had a chance of leaving. My guardian wanted me to stay here for all four years while he does whatever. I'm not too sure he will be at the place or not. He told me that he would pick me up her." He looked down at the ground but then back to me, "You don't have that same problem, Tsukune."

I don't like the fact that he was right. I wasn't too sure how my parent would react to me leaving the school either. If I left, I would have only stayed for two weeks and a day. They would not be happy. They had seemed too proud of me for getting into high school. Dad had worked too hard to get me registered here. I wanted to leave, but could I leave my friend who was willing to help me as much as he has. Even amongst my old group of friends, Naruto-san looked out for me more than they ever did. The sad thing was, I had only known Naruto-san for two days. 'If I leave, I would turn my back on him like how my friends didn't reach out to me in weeks after I had failed the entrance exam. They still hadn't. If I left, now my parents would be greatly disappointed in me, I would leave a good friend to his fate here, and I would go back to the human world knowing that monsters exist and not knowing how to spot them or fight them.'

"Tsukune, you can't stay here. You have to leave." Naruto-san tried to reason with me. I, however, only got upset by him. He didn't think I could make it here. I knew I was the weakest link and hated the fact. I was upset that I knew next to nothing. I might be smarter in school than Naruto-san, well I couldn't really say that as I hadn't seen any of his grades. I was going off by his appearance again. He had me beat in so many other areas: Fighting, survival, street smarts, and basic tactics. What did I really have on him, height?

I narrowed my eyes at Naruto-san, my brows furrowed together in anger. I walked up to him and put a hand on his shoulder, "I might be frightened of this school and the monsters that lurk around here, but you are crazy to think I'm going to leave you here on your own. Not after everything you have done for me."

Naruto shrugged off my hand and glared at me, "Yeah, and this isn't one of those damn cartoons or animes where the power of friendship and love wins the day! These are monsters, Tsukune! Bloodthirsty monsters that want to rip you to pieces, and I can guarantee that some do want to eat us!" Naruto-san threw one of his hands wide. He grabbed me by my shirt, and I blink in surprise as he pulled me down to his level. "Do you think you can kill one?! Well, Tsukune?! Can you?! Do you have the will to kill them before they kill you?! I can't say for certain, but if you think you will be attached to my hip the entire time we are here, you are wrong. Can you handle one on your own?!"

I pushed him back; he stumbled but caught himself, "I'm not just doing this for you! My parents worked hard to get me into a high school. I can never go back to living a normal life now that I know these creatures, the Devil and God, exist! I need to know how to fight them and identify them if I need to protect my own family and myself. I'm doing this because I need to. You are my friend Naruto-san. As much as you are stuck here, so am I as much as that fact will come back to haunt me."

"Why?! All you talked about today was leaving here on the fifth!?" Naruto-san raged as his hands tightened into fists.

"I was wrong, and I just realized it when I thought about what I would do if I ran into a monster! I drew a blank and realized that the only way I have a chance is to stay here and learn from them! I have to stay to protect my family, myself, and my friend. I want to learn, help me, Naruto-san!" I pleaded with him. He had to see reason! He had to know that this was more important than just some small feeling I was having. I had finally seen what the only option for me was. Leaving would be the safest route, yes, but it wasn't the smartest. People here would ask questions, and that might bring them down one Naruto-san.

Naruto only glared at me, "Fine, if you want to stay here so badly, fine!" He turned away from me, and I was afraid he would walk off, but he didn't. He turned to point his finger at me, "Then don't be upset with what I'm going to put you through, because as much as you think you are looking out for me, I'm looking out for you. I will teach you how to survive if you want to stay here. You will listen to me. Got it?" He snarled, I nodded, but he wasn't done, "An so help God, if you don't, I will knock your ass out and drag you on that bus and have that creepy ass bus driver take you home, you know!" He threatened.

"That's all I ask-"

There was a masculine scream that came from somewhere behind us. We quickly turned to the sound as more calls for help echoed around the trees before dying off. The sounds of the soft breeze and dead leaves blowing along the ground were all that was left. It sent a chill down my spine. All that bravo I had mustered up to face Naruto-san with quickly disappeared.

Naruto-san didn't fare any better as he took a step towards me. "Tsukune." Naruto-san said, slowly turning to me, "Here is your first lesson. Follow me and keep quiet. We are only going to get a peek of what that was. Hopefully, this will make you see reason, and if not, then let it give you the resolve to fight."

I really didn't think this was a good idea, but I had to prove myself to Naruto-san and myself. I nodded, and we made our approach. I could feel my heart beating against my chest as we got closer to the area where the screams had come from. We crept slowly and with purpose. The creepiest part of this was the goosebumps forming on my arms and legs. Nothing had changed like it did in the movies. The wind stayed the same, cold, and the sounds stayed the same. However, it only added to my own fear. Everything was amplified to the max. Every little sound played at my ears and fears.

"Watch where you step," Naruto started moving slightly ahead of me, "don't step on anything that can make too much noise," Naruto instructed, and I paid outstanding attention to the forest floor. I made sure to dodge the dead piles of leaves, fallen branches, large sticks, and tiny twigs as I followed behind him. I tried my best to copy his movements. We made it to a treeline. In front of us was an outdoor pool. The one I was certain that the swimming club talked to us about.

We couldn't really see it that well from the treeline. It also didn't help that the pool was above us, making it impossible for us to observe it from afar but safe distance. We slowly advance to the concrete side of the pool, keeping low. We were crouched down right there. Naruto-san sent his gaze to the ledge then back to me. "Okay, this where I think the sound came from. We are going to take a peek. If nothing is there, we are getting out of here. I don't want to be caught by something else."

"Yeah, that sounds good," I told him as fear told me to run instead of staying here. I don't want to be here, but the sooner I get used to the scary things, the soon it will stop me from freezing up when I had to fight or run.

"Alright, on the count of three, we'll take a peek." Great a count down. "One," I breathed in and out to calm myself down, "Two," I didn't think my heart could beat any faster than it was now, "Three." We slowly stood up so only our eyes and the top part of our heads would stick up. I was never ready for what I saw next.

I could feel it. I could feel fear at what I was witnessing. It felt like a scary scene in a horror movie but multiplied by a thousand. There, out on the concrete floor by the pool, were a bunch of dried up unmoving bodies. They looked like they had been thrown out of the pool carelessly, like they were trash to be disposed of. I didn't get a good look at the bodies because the pool's calm waters exploded in motion. A person sprung from the water by the edge of the pool. He had a vast bite mark on his shoulder that was leaking blood. The look on his face was one of horror. He was spitting out water, gargling it, trying to breathe. He tried to crawl away from the pool and started to stand; I got a good look at him. He looked older, far older like the life had been shucked out of him. He was almost home free when a fishy hand shot out of the water to grab his ankle. It pulled on his leg. The force brought him down, and he hit his head against the hard ground. The sound made me cringe in disgusts. His focus was gone; he was in a daze as he looked up. He noticed and reached out. Not like we could have done something even if we wanted to. This massive fence blocked that option. Even if it were there, we probably wouldn't have gone for it. I happened to notice green fishtail pop out of the water. A blood trail was left as he was dragged back into the waters with barely any resistance on his part.

I looked to Naruto-san. He was petrified by the display he had witnessed. He turned when he noticed me looking at him. His eyes were wide, disbelieving, horrified, shook. He looked away and back to the waters that had claimed the eleven students. 'Well, twelve now.' I did the same. We were stuck watching this brutally before us. It was like watching a nature film or show where a shark grabs a seal. You feel bad but know there is nothing you can do but watch. That was the feeling going through my body, along with the overpowering feeling of fear that kept me rooted in place.

Not even a full minute later, that same person was thrown from the water. He landed on the pile of other bodies, he bounced off, twisting into a heap of tangled limbs. He looked like the rest of the bodies. Face twisted, eyes shrunken in their socket, a large gash on his forehead from when he had fallen. Skin so close to the bone that it looked like all the muscles had disappeared. Some of his skin had been cut up from being dragged along the hard floor before he was dragged back under the water. There were twelve bodies now. All of them drained completely. Some only had one bite mark and were intact. Others were not that lucky as they were missing fingers, toes, chunks, and limbs.

"Dear God," Naruto-san voiced both of our thoughts. "They're all dead." Soon twelve girls walked out of the pool. We both noticed the main one, the leader. Ichinose-senpai. She was the one that had tried to get us to go to this.

'Oh God, she wanted to eat us!' A thought occurred to me. I had to check the pamphlet that I still had on me. I pulled it out of my pocket and searched through it. 'I can find a swimming club! It was a lie! There is only the swimming team!' I couldn't trust my voice and point this out to Naruto-san. I would have to do it when I wasn't here. This was far too much for me to handle. Knowing that we could have ended up like this if we had come back or decided to check it out.

Then they all started laughing and mocking the corpses of the former alive students. Ichinose-senpai brushed her hair to the side, so it was out of her face, and said. "Come on, girls; we had our fun for the day with the freshmen."

"Idiots, the lot of them. It's like they forget where they are!" One of the other older girls expresses her true colors. The disdain in voice was like ice. "Like upperclassmen want to hang out with a bunch of loser freshman." Upper-level students were a no go it would seem. That line will form my doctrine on how I will act around upperclassmen here. They did not like their lowerclassmen. In one wretched scene, I had learned more about the school in two days. There didn't need to be logic behind an attack; only just one needed to win.

"They were all weak monsters too. They all died pathetically and too fast to really enjoy it!" I cringed at it. Did they enjoy doing this? Was this for fun, hunger, or something else?

"What should we do with them?"

"Hmm, leave them there, finish them off. I don't care. Just remember to be ready for practice on Thursday." Ichinose-senpai directed to the rest of the swim team and walked out of the gate and left the pool area leaving behind the other eleven girls. She left through the fence door like nothing important had happened, like this was no big deal! How could they just treat a bunch of other students like that? Naruto-san's word came back to me from lunch.

They took the bodies and tossed them into the waters once more. They transformed in front of us. What they looked like was scarier than anything he had ever seen. Their ears were gone, replaced by fins, their jaws unhinged, three rows of jagged teeth, gills went up from the bottom of their necks to their cheeks, their hands became webbed, fingernails were claws, and lastly, their legs became a fishtail. Mermaids. They were mermaids! Once all the girls were in the water, that was when the pool's clear blue waters started changing color. A reddish color. It looks like they had decided to finish them off.

"I've seen enough of this," Naruto-san tears his eyes away from the scene before him. He looked sick to his stomach. I couldn't say I felt the same. No, I was stuck in some sort of disturbing fascination. It was terrifying to see such a display, but yet, I finally understood. Monsters cared about the strong. In fact, no one would care about these freshmen. They were weak and thus deserved everything they got. "Come on, Tsukune! Tsukune!" He shook my shoulders, breaking my focus on the bloody waters. He was just as terrified as I was, but he was pushing himself to move. "We got to go; there is nothing we should do about this!" I made a note of that line. There was nothing we should do. Not by the school's rules. Not by monster's rules. Human laws demanded action for the injustice but these weren't humans. Our rules did apply to them. Thus this will go unnoticed and even if it didn't who cared really? "Let's get the fuck out of here." With that said, I hurried and followed after Naruto-san. I didn't feel so go now about staying. If those were corpses were monsters, and they had no chance, how the Hell did I?

Author's Notes: GameStop power to the players, Oorah. That's some funny shit right there, nice one, internet. People went from hating GameStop to loving it in like five days. Memes are the only way to enlightenment. Hold the line! Doge to the moon! Also, I tried having this done yesterday, it was only at 9650 words, the editing made the thing shoot up 12,000! Haha, it's always in the rewrite player! Lastly, I update the prologue to have a small fight now. I didn't want it long. Minato only had five minutes so it wouldn't make sense for it to be a massive fight. Epic, yes, long, no way. It should be updated at some point. I already replaced the chapter so it should appear. I also fixed the switching from first to third person. I did a shoddy job of fixing up that chapter.
