I realised that i haven't mentioned much of the other Bakers, such as Mark or Henry and also the Murtaugh's so I'm going to try include them some more.

Chapter 19

Morning came and the sun was rising, all the Baker's were either out their beds and in middle of getting ready for school or still lying in bed trying to get five extra minutes sleep, before Kate would come into their rooms and pester them, until they were out of their beds.

Sarah, Jessica and Kim were always the first ones up seeing as they had their hair and make up to do and needed at least an hour to get ready. Kate walked up the stairs and started to do her usual routine check to make sure everyone was up so that they wouldn't be late for school. It was the usual three still in bed sleeping; Jake, Mark and Mike. Just about everyone morning Kate had practically drag them out of bed and as usual there would be the moans and pleads for five more minutes.

Eventually Kate had won and managed to get the three of them up and out of bed and getting ready for school. Sarah, Jessica and Kim were sitting at the table eating their breakfast.

"Oh mom I forgot to tell you I won't be home until later tonight and I won't be here for tea as I'm going to Ryan's to work on our project," Jessica remembered.

"Okay that's fine," Kate smiled.

Kim's mouth had dropped to the floor, "You're going to Ryan's! You never mentioned it,"

"I totally forgot about it until right now," Jessica replied.

"Lucky you," Kim said, "I still can't get over the fact that you got Ryan Scott as your biology partner".

"Kim are you ever going to stop going on about that?" Sarah said as she had enough of hearing Kim say how jealous she is of the fact Jessica is working with Ryan.

"Sorry," Kim smirked.

Mark walked in and threw his school bag off the table.

"Woah you nearly knocked my glass over there Mark," Kim gasped.

"Everything okay Mark? You seem very annoyed," Sarah asked.

"Everything is fine," Mark snapped.

Sarah never said anything else but knew that Mark was lying, she could tell that everything wasn't fine.

It was soon time for everyone to leave to go to school. Mark hurried off not bothering to wait for everyone else. Sarah noticed and chased after him.

"Mark! Mark wait!" Sarah shouted as she hurried down the street after him. Mark turned round to see who it was shouting on him. He sighed as he seen it was Sarah.

"Leave me alone Sarah! I want to walk by myself," Mark replied as he carried on walking.

"Mark," Sarah shouted, "wait please," Sarah now defiantly knew that something was wrong with Mark.

Mark eventually got fed up of Sarah shouting and chasing after him to wait so he decided he may as well wait.

"So then what's wrong?" Sarah questioned.

"Nothing!" Mark replied, "Just not in a good mood today,"

Sarah had given up trying to find out what was bugging Mark as it didn't look like he was going to tell her.

When they got to school Mark met Kenneth and the two of them wandered off. Sarah followed not far behind them curious to see if she'd find out what was wrong with Mark if she followed him. Mark and Kenneth headed over towards biology and stood outside the class which was their registration class. Sarah stood round the corner a few meters away from them and tried to listen into the conversation but they were speaking to quietly for her to hear.

A group of boys who were Mark's age were heading in the direction of where Mark and Kenneth were standing. They crowded round Mark and Kenneth, "Oh look it's the two nature boys," one of them said.

There was six of them, Sarah recognised them but didn't know who any of them were. Four out of the six of them were very tall and big built. They towered over Mark and Kenneth.

Sarah could tell this was going to be trouble. She stayed hidden waiting to see if anything else would happen. One of the boys grabbed Kenneth and pushed him against the wall while another boy pushed Mark to the floor and the group of boys laughed.

"Get away from my brother!" Sarah shouted as she made herself seen. The boys took a few steps back. Sarah put out her hand to help Mark up but he looked away and got himself up.

"I don't know who you guys think you are but you messed with the wrong family," Sarah shouted and the boys quickly disappeared.

"What you do that for?" Mark shouted, "I can fight my own battles. Do you know how embarrassing that it? My sister having to stick up for me".

"Really you can fight your own battles, because it didn't look to me as if you were making a good job of doing that. How long had this been going on for? Sarah demanded to know.

"Since Kenneth started here. He got on the wrong side of them because he was flirting with one of their girlfriends and ever since then they have had it in for Kenneth and me," Mark said.

"I was not flirting with her all I was doing was talking to her," Kenneth said correcting Mark.

"Look we will sort this out. Remember that kids that knocked of your glasses when we first moved here, well after Jake, Mike, Jessica and Kim sorted them out they never bothered you again".

"Please Sarah don't make thing any worse by getting involved," Mark said. The bell went and Sarah left to go to her registration class, she was surprised to find out Mark and Kenneth was being picked on and that they hadn't mentioned it to anyone. She thought Mark had more of a backbone than he did three years ago when they first moved here, and didn't expect him to be getting picked on.

Sarah walked into her registration class and sat at her usual table with Naomi, Jake and Elliot. She wanted to let Jake and Elliot know that their brothers were being bullied but she knew Mark and Kenneth wouldn't want her to, but she knew she had to do something. Sarah finally gave in and told them.

"See this morning I noticed there was something up with Mark and then once I got to school I seen him and Kenneth being harassed by a group of boys and they then started to shove Mark and Kenneth".

"What!" Elliot said looking surprised.

"Why?" Jake asked.

"Because apparently Kenneth was speaking to one of their girlfriends and the boy got very annoyed and then since then has started to give Kenneth and Mark a hard time," Sarah explained.

"Well we can't let them get away with it," Jake quickly responded.

"Yeah but Mark and Kenneth don't want us getting involved, they want to fight their own battle," Sarah replied.

Elliot stopped and thought about it, "Maybe we should let them".

"Huh" Jake said shocked that Elliot was just going to let them continue to get picked on.

"Well they are right in a way they need to fight their own battle we can't keep fighting them for them, anyway I'm surprised by Kenneth he usually doesn't put up with bother he gets from anyone".

"Yeah but these boys were a lot bigger than Mark and Kenneth," Sarah said.

"I don't think we can just let them continue to be pushed around by theses boys though. What if we leave them to fight their own battle and they fail so they still continue to get pushed around," Jake said.

"If I were you I'd stay out of it for just now and if they still continue to get picked on them I'd get involved," Naomi said contributing to the conversation.

"I suppose we could do that," Elliot said and Sarah and Jake agreed.

The bell rang for first period and as they were walking along to corridor towards the science block Sarah spotted the group of boys who had been giving Kenneth and Mark a hard time.

"That's them!" Sarah said pointing them out.

The six boys all looked at the floor as they noticed Sarah and felt a bit intimidated after their incident with Sarah this morning. Sarah screwed her eyes a little a stared right at them, making them feel uncomfortable. Jake and Elliot also stared over towards them which made all of the boys quickly turn away and look in another direction. About twenty meters behind the boys were Mark and Kenneth. Sarah smiled at Mark as she noticed him but Mark gave her a dismissive looked and continued walking down the corridor. Sarah knew Mark was still annoyed that she got involved this morning. She asked Jake and Elliot not to mention that she had told them that Mark would be more annoyed at her than he already was.

"Guys we need to go look at the notice board in the PE department to see if we made the team," Elliot remembered.

"Oh yeah, we should go now before class, we'll just tell the teacher we had to go see the Coach," Sarah said as they turned around and headed towards the PE department.

As they arrived in the PE department they hurried over to the noticeboard excited to see if they made the team or not. Elliot scrolled his finger down the list," Sarah you got in, so did I and you too Jake. We all made it," Elliot said with a smile of delight.

Sarah looked through the list to see who else she knew who had made it. She seem that Ethan had made it and also Ryan.

The rest of the day passed quickly and when Sarah arrived home she straight away ran upstairs to Mark's room so she could speak to him. She walked in to his room without even knocking.

"Mark why didn't you say anything to me?" She asked as she flung the door open.

"Go away!" Mark said raising his voice, "don't burst into my room like that again".

Sarah was only concerned and didn't understand why her little brother wouldn't tell her that he was being bullied.

"Mark I just want to talk to you," Sarah pleaded.

"But I don't want to talk to you. Now leave!" Sarah could tell that Mark was upset about it. She knew he was probably embarrassed about it.

"Mark please talk to me. We barley spoken recently," Sarah said.

"Yeah and now you're suddenly taken an interest in me because some boys are picking on me. Surprised you could even tell there was something up this morning. I bet if it was Mike or something you would have all noticed straight away that something wasn't right with him. Took you over a week and no one else had noticed yet".

Sarah sat down on Mark's chair and looked at his frog Buttons who was sitting in his cage. She felt bad because she knew that Mark did sometimes go unnoticed and probably has the least amount of attention on him in the family.

"Mark I'm sorry," Sarah said lightening her tone, "I shouldn't have got involved this morning and should have spoke to you first".

"You know once you left they came back and threatened us. Saying we will pay for that," Mark said looking saddened.

"Why didn't you say anything?" Sarah asked.

"Because I'm fed up being the dork of the family. The least cool one, the one everyone laughs at, the one no one pays any attention to and feels invisible. No one would even noticed if I left" .

"Mark we would. We did when you ran away a few years ago, we were all so worried. I know you feel like you don't fit in or that you're not as big a part of the family as the louder ones, but you are Mark and you fit perfectly. I thought after the incident a few years ago everyone was fine" .

Mark knew that everyone did love and care about him but sometimes found it difficult to remember that when he feels like he's the outsider. It seemed everyone in the family had someone like there was Lorraine and Nora, Henry and Charlie were quite close, Jake, Sarah and Mike were and also Jake and Henry were close. Then there were both sets of twins. Mark never felt like he had a strong bond with anyone in the way Jake and Sarah did or Jessica and Kim did. He felt as though Buttons his frog was his closest friend.

Mark tried to hold back the tears and he tired his hardest but he had too much emotions running through his head right now and a tear began to pour down his face.

"Aw Mark," Sarah said as she stood up and hugged him, "We won't let these bullies continue to push you around something will be done about it tomorrow, but that's only if you want us to do something though?" Sarah said remembering Mark told her to stay out of it.

"Well only if me and Kenneth can be involved in the revenge plan whatever it's going to be," Mark said.

"Oh we'll come up with something," Sarah said with her mischief smile, "and Mark I'm always here for you, we all are. Stop thinking you're on your own we are all here for you".
