"Can you believe this shit", Demi cried and slapped a newspaper down on the table. It had been a frustrating few days for the Dino Rangers, without a functioning Megazord the team were sitting ducks. Zedd and Mordred had quickly realised this and had been relentless in his pursuit of the rangers. The first monster had been easily dispatched but their problems had begun once the creature had inevitably grown into a giant. That's when the Sibling Rangers had lumbered in with their own Megazord and finished off the monster.

The Dino Rangers were hopeful that this was a sign of a truce from the Sibling Rangers but that was soon dashed the next day when the pair showed up to another battle and comfortably defeated a fleet of Drones. Another warning for the Dino Rangers to stay out of their way was backed up with a few warning bolts of lightning. Staying out their way wasn't proving to be a problem though as the Sibling Rangers began getting to the monster before they did.

All of that led to the main story of today's paper, "Let's take a look", Jessi said and picked up the paper, "Mayor comes out in support of Rangers and praises their superior work ethic. Questions raised about current whereabouts of the other team of Rangers".

"Doesn't this writer know that those two are a couple of unhinged psychos", Demi shook his head and continued to read over the pink ranger's shoulder.

"We do not seek praise", Jason reminded the teens.

"I know but this still stinks", Jessi tossed the paper across the room and the pages flew in different directions. Ruby picked up a page " SPD to transport Scorpion Cartel members to court through Pine Ridge" Ruby read out loud

"Littering won't be tolerated", Billy called out without taking his eyes off the computer screen. Unfortunately the technical genius had failed to get the auto repair program running on the Fury Megazord so all repairs were being completed manually. He had been working solidly with a team of engineers from his old friend Grace's government department but they were still a week away from completion, "Don't you have parents to annoy or something".

"Why when we can spend our time with the happiest person in Pine Ridge", Jason smiled sweetly at the man.

"Alright Tori, that will do", Jason moved towards the pink ranger. "Since you're at a loose end, I have assignment for you", a small bundle of papers and a scroll was dropped into Jessi's outstretched hand.

"Quick question", Demi raised his hand, "why does Jessi get to go?"

"Because you two need to stay here and protect the city", Billy butted into the conversation. Demi and Ruby looked at each other but realised they couldn't disagree with Billy.

"In that pack is a map, a ninja star along with a return ticket to Summer Cove Airport".

"Summer Cover?" Jessi asked.

"I trust that my faith in you won't be misplaced", Jason began, "the Star holds the key to a powerful upgrade to the Megazord". He paused for a moment before adding, "The star will lead you to help. I caution you that the power rangers may not like you being there". Jessi nodded in acknowledgement, "Now I suggest you go home and pack, your flight leaves in a few hours". The pink ranger didn't need to be told twice and hurried out of Dino Base before Jason could change his mind.

Summer Cove

The pink ranger set out of the location given on her map which was somewhere in the foothills of Mount Summer. The taxi driver took her as far as he possibly could but after that, it was all up to Jessi.

The summit of the legendary and sacred Mount Summer was shrouded in mist but at least the rain was holding off. Jessi periodically checked her map so she was sure that she was heading in the right direction. Unfortunately the radar wasn't picking up anything but then she reached a dense part of the forest. This area wasn't on the map but something was telling the pink ranger that this was the correct path to take.

The foliage on the trees was thick and Jesso could swear that some of the branches were moving to deliberately block her path. Sheer force of will finally saw the pink ranger push her way passed the trees and into a clearing. Jessi wasn't sure what she was expecting to see but this certainly wasn't it, "This place looks like it's been abandoned for centuries", she said with awe.

There were several small buildings made out of bamboo arranged in a circle around a flat patch of grass similar to the training area at the Wind Academy. The grass had grown long around most of the buildings but there was one that was in immaculate condition, "Weird, looks like someone has been living here", she whispered to herself.

"I see Power rangers aren't as stupid as I remember", a female voice called out from Jessi's right hand side.

The pink ranger spun around to face the newcomer and got a little bit of a shock. The green Ninja Steel ranger. Jessi could tell that the female was of Spanish descent and her long black hair was tied back in a braid, "I recognise you", Jessi said with a slightly terrified whisper.

The female ninja unsheathed the sword that was attached to her back and pointed it menacingly at the pink ranger, "Speak our name girly", she hissed.

"Ninja Steel", Jessi called out,

"You know your ninja", the ninja almost sounded impressed, "too bad it won't help you". The female ninja leapt at Jessi with her blade ready to strike. The pink ranger's eyes widened in surprise and only just jumped out the way in time. The ninja grabbed Jessi's arm and rolled up her lower body so her legs pushed the pink ranger's chest. Using her legs muscles she flipped Jessi onto her back and wrapped her legs around her throat. She kept hold of the pink ranger's arm and applied some pressure, "I know exactly why you're here", the ninja replied, wrenching a little tighter on the arm.

"I was sent here by Jason", Jessi's vision was beginning to fade,

"Wait did you say Jason?" the ninja suddenly released the pressure slightly, "as in Jason Lee Scott".

"Why do you know him?" Jessi asked.

There was a pause followed by the female ninja releasing her grip entirely and helping Jessi to her feet. She looked at the growing bruise on the pink ranger's neck, "let me get you some ice for that, follow me please". Jessi was a little apprehensive at the ninja's sudden change in demeanour, "Come on I haven't got all day", she added a little more forcefully.

Reluctantly Jessi followed the ninja into the non damaged bamboo building where she found the green ranger demorphin, "Leave your shoes outside please", she instructed the pink ranger, "it took me forever to clean this place up".

Suddenly the pieces were falling into place for Jessi, Mick walked in " Who are you?". Mick looked at Jessi " Mick Kanic". She held up the ninja power star, "Jason said i had to give this you i assume".

"Explains a bit, Kiya if you could " Mick said, Kiya stood up and reached into a cupboard, "so I guess you've come for this", in her hands was a crystal. "This is a power crystal", she handed it over to Jessi, "Thank you"

The pink ranger stood up slowly and bowed respectfully to Mick and the woman, Jessi pulled her boots back on and headed out into the forest. Yuri leaned on the door frame and watched the pink ranger depart. Yuri looked around at the ruins of Mick's the Forest Ninja Academy and sighed.
