Chapter 33

Jessica lay in bed awake and as she looked at the time she knew she only had 5 minutes until her alarm was going to ring. Jessica had barley slept as she felt so bad for all the drama she caused. If it wasn't bad enough that Elliot or Ryan wasn't speaking to her, now Kim and Sarah basically hated her too and the rest of her family wanted nothing to do with her.

Jessica was dreading going to school because she knew it wouldn't be long until the whole school had heard what happened and they would all have low opinions of Jessica as she felt everyone at school would think that she was seeing both Ryan and Elliot at the same time. Jessica knew that it was kind of true but she did intended for it to happen and she knew that she was going to have to choose between them.

Jessica's alarm began to beep as it was time for her to get up and she headed for the bathroom, just as Kim was coming out of the bathroom. Kim shook her head and looked at Jessica in disgust as she walked past her and headed to her own room.

After getting ready Jessica decided to skip breakfast as she didn't want to face having to sit with her sisters and brothers when no one would want her there.

"Jessica why didn't you have something to eat this morning?" a concerned Kate asked.

"It wasn't worth the bother," Jessica replied, "I couldn't face having to sit and eat with everyone when they all pretty much hate me".

"They don't hate you," Kate replied.

"Mom they do!" Jessica replied before she put her shoes on a left to walk to school by herself.

Kim walked with Mark and Kenneth and Sarah stayed with Jake and Mike while Elliot also choose not to walk with any of the Baker's as he thought it would be too awkward as Sarah was annoyed with him and Jessica had hurt him.

"This is so messed up," Jake commented to Mike and Sarah, "We're a family of twelve and yet Jessica is walking to school herself. I never thought in all my live that things between us all would get this bad".

"It's her own fault though," Sarah replied.

"Sarah can I just ask if you knew all along then why did you just pretend that everything was fine?" Mike asked Sarah.

"To be honest Mike I don't know why I did. It was the easiest option as I didn't want this fighting to happen which is happening now," Sarah replied.

"So if you were able to forget about it for so long and pretend like it never happened can't you just do that now and then we can make a start in trying to fix this," Jake asked Sarah.

"I never once forgot about. Every time I seen Jessica or Elliot I was reminded by it so don't ever say I managed to forget about it because that it not true!" Sarah replied. Sarah had had enough of trying to pretend that everything was fine when really it wasn't and now that the truth about Jessica and Elliot was out, Sarah finally felt that now she could let her anger out and try and get over it.

"But you were still able to pretend that everything was fine," Jake added.

"Yeah but pretend it the important word there. Nothing was fine I was just pretending that it was and now that it's all out in the open I've got to be real and stop pretending. I couldn't ignore this forever," Sarah answered.

"So will you ever forgive Jessica?" Mike asked Sarah.

"I don't know. All I do know is at this moment in time no. But things change over time so maybe one day," Sarah said. Sarah didn't not ever want to speak to Jessica but she was hurting and needed time to get over it but the question on Sarah's mind was would she ever be able to get over it.

At school Kim walked into class and Jessica was already sitting there in her usual seat which was right next to Kim's seat. Kim couldn't bear the idea of having to sit right next to Jessica right now and asked one of the boys in her class who was sitting next to Kim's friend Carly if he mind changing seats with her which he agreed to do.

As Tyler the boy who had moved seats with Jessica got up and sat next to her, Jessica could tell that people were whispering and wondering why Kim had moved and it only took a few minutes until someone had revealed the truth and people in the class started to express their opinions loud enough so that Jessica could hear.

"Talk about playing two boys at once that is just disgraceful behaviour," someone said.

"I could never do anything like that to my family," Another added.

"I always thought that she was a good girl but I guess I was wrong there." Jessica was trying her best to keep it together but right now all she wanted to do was go home and cry. She knew it was her own fault.

Another boy in the class passed a note on to Tyler which Jessica read over his shoulder and then wished she never. The note being passed around was about her and what happened with Ryan and Elliot.

"Jessica Baker," Tyler said as he turned round to face her, "Well I would have never thought you would have done something like that". Jessica ignored the comment and tried to forget that everyone in the class was speaking about her.

Lunch came and after Jessica got her food in the canteen she stood for a second as she wasn't sure where she should sit as the wouldn't be welcome with the usual group of people she sat with as they were all sitting with Kim which gave the message to Jessica that they all wanted nothing to do with her from now on.

Jessica sat by herself at the end of a table. She had never felt more alone in all her life. Someone throw a paper ball at her and shouted an insult to her.

"Hey leave her alone!" Jake shouted as she walked past and witnessed it.

"You ok?" Jake asked Jessica.

"No everyone hates me," Jessica replied. Jake sat down next to Jessica as he felt bad that she was alone and everyone was speaking about her.

Jake didn't know what else to say because even he wasn't sure that things would get better.

"I can't do this Jake," Jessica said, "I'm going to have to ask mom and dad if I can move school. I can't handle everyone talking about me and hating on me".

"Jessica you can't run away from this. You still live with Sarah and Kim it's still going to be the same at home," Jake replied. Jake knew that Jessica just had to face up to what she had done and that meant living with the consequences of her actions.

"I've only been here a few hours and I've received well over a hundred insults and I've had notes past about class which are about me as well as getting paper balls and food chucked off of me," Jessica said, "People who don't even know a thing about me are judging me".

"Look it will all die down eventually and people will forget about it," Jake said trying to be positive.

"Why are you even still talking to me, no one else is except mom and dad?" Jessica asked.

"Because you had the chance to throw me into all of this by telling Sarah that I knew that you had a thing going on between both Elliot and Ryan but you never and I'm thankful for that so I didn't want to turn my back on you when you never turned your back on me," Jake replied. Jake knew what Jessica did was wrong but she was still his sister and he still cared about her and he didn't want to stand by and watch as other people were shouting insults at Jessica and throwing things off her.

Jake went to his next class which was maths after lunch. Both Sarah and Elliot were in his class and so far Elliot had avoided him all day probably because he had been with Sarah. Jake could tell that this class would be awkward because they sat in group tables of four so that they could help each other in class if someone was unsure. Jake sat at a table with Sarah, Naomi and Elliot.

When he got to class Sarah and Naomi were already sitting there. Naomi was talking about Jessica and Elliot and how she couldn't believe that Sarah had knows about them and not mentioned anything to her.

"You know Sarah you keep things bottled up inside way too much. You need to let your feelings out more. I'm your friend and anything you tell me would be in confidence and I wouldn't tell a soul," Naomi said to Sarah.

Sarah knew how much of a gossip Naomi was and doubted that she would be able to keep it to herself if Sarah told her something like that.

"Have you even told Elliot that you still have feelings for him?" Naomi whispered so that Jake couldn't hear.

"Shut up!" Sarah replied because she was scared that Jake would hear, "We can talk about this after class".

Elliot walked into class and took his usual seat next to Jake which was directly across form Sarah.

"Sarah can we please talk today after school?" Elliot asked Sarah straight away as he sat around so that they didn't have to go through any of that awkward silence stuff.

"What else has to be said?" Sarah asked as she didn't want to sit and listen to how sorry Elliot was because she had already heard enough of it from Jessica at home.

"I think we just need to talk about it because you haven't got to hear my side of the story," Elliot replied as he wanted to explain himself to Sarah.

"I already know you're side of the story. You got with my sister behind my back and never told me," Sarah replied as she couldn't see what else Elliot would have to tell her.

"Sarah why don't you just meet with him so you can at least make a start in trying to fix this," Naomi advised Sarah.

"Naomi no offense but this has nothing to do with you!" Sarah said as she didn't want Naomi getting involved in this as well.

"Sarah she is your friend she's allowed to give you advice and I also think that you and Elliot speaking might be a good start," Jake said agreeing with Naomi.

Sarah was even more annoyed now that Jake was getting involved in this, "You just want me to sort things out with him because he's your friend and you want to keep everyone happy. I hear you had your lunch today with Jessica".

"Sarah I want you to speak to Elliot because I think you can't ignore this forever and he should be allowed to explain himself to you. And I sat with Jessica because she was alone and having a tough day because people are insulting her and throwing things at her and despite what she's done she is still my sister and I care about her," Jake said justifying himself.

"Is she ok?" Elliot asked looking concerned. Sarah face didn't look amused as she could see that Elliot still had feeling for Jessica.

"Yeah I suppose but it can't be nice having the whole school judging her," Jake replied.

Elliot felt a little bit bad for Jessica because even though Elliot had been in the wrong for keeping him and Jessica a secret no one had said anything insulting to him. If anything people felt sorry for him because they felt that Jessica had been playing him because she had been with him and Ryan. Elliot knew it was almost a similar situation that he was in because he liked Sarah but then he fell for Jessica but felt too bad to be with her because he still had feelings for Sarah.

"Sarah please will you just talk to me?" Elliot asked again.

"Fine then," Sarah agreed, "Meet me after school and we can talk as we walk home".
