Chapter Seven: Assembling the Skull Island Team
They moved over to the edge of the steps to talk. All six of them stood at the steps of the Senate Building and Dr. Randa quirked a brow as he questioned, "Just who are you people?"
"And why do you need to have a word with us?" Brooks asked, feeling a little uncertain. Cheelai then stepped up while she introducing, "I'm Cheelai." Then pointing to each of her comrades she said, "And that's Lemo, Broly and 17. And there's something you need to know."
"Like what?" Randa questioned. 17 then said, "The future of your universe's Earth is at risk."
"Our universe's Earth?" Brooks said as neither he nor his colleague didn't understand. Broly then said, "We come from an Earth from another universe forty-six years from now."
"Well, he does." Cheelai said while pointing to 17 with her thumb. Then she added, "The three of us actually-"
"Wait." 17 said as he looked around. He could see a few people walking by and giving them looks. Then he looked to the others and said, "The area's not safe here. We need to find a more private spot to talk."
"Yeah, like an insane asylum." Bill commented. 17 then said, "Lemo, give the gentleman a brief view of the truth."
Luckily, Lemo knew what the man was saying and slightly lifted his fake glasses. Both Houston and Bill became stupefied when they could see that Lemo had the actual face of someone who was not from Earth. Cheelai then stepped forward and said, "Plus, this might help a little."
She held out Brooks' notebook of the future to his past counterpart. Brooks took the notebook into his hands and flipped through the much newer entries to it. His eyes grew ever wider as he could tell that even though he hadn't written these notes, they were written how he would write them and in his hand writing. Looking to Randa he said, "I can see the truth in what they're saying."
"Really?" Randa said as he looked at the notebook too. Then looking to the others had asked, "So, you future travelers got my notebook?"
"Uh, who are you exactly?" Cheelai asked while placing her hands on her hips. Brooks then asked, "Uh, this is Dr. Bill Randa. One of the founding members of Monarch, plus he has the theory that giant monsters are among us."
"Look this is fascinating." Lemo said, making them all look to him. But then he reminded, "But need I remind you all that we're still out in the open."
They all looked around to see that people were in fact walking around. Everyone but 17 all said, "Oh, right."
All six of them moved down the steps and Randa then said, "You guys can fill us in on the way to the airport."
"What's an airport?" Broly asked, not knowing what it was. Brooks looked back to the Saiyan and said, "You been living under a rock?"
"I've been living on a rock." The Saiyan responded. This made Brooks think about what Broly had just said before he let out a few chuckles. Randa looked to him with a quirked brow and he said, "If you were a geologist like me, you'd find a little humor in what he said."
"Whatever." Randa said as they walked down the steps. When they reached the side walk, Randa tried to signal for a cab. But it seemed that no one was going to stop for them. Even one car drove by as a man wearing orange tinted glasses, had a small mustache stuck his head out the window and shouted, "Make love, not war!"
Though while they found that one to be a little odd, Broly looked to the right and pointed as he said, "What about that thing?"
They all looked to see a van parked next to a store. It was big enough for all of them, but it seemed that it was already in use. Brooks shook his head as he disagreed, "No, someone's already got that ride."
"Even if their offering it?" Cheelai asked as one of the owners was holding a sign. The sign read, 'Free car if you beat me!' on it. The group walked over and 17 asked, "What do I have to beat you in?"
"Sorry, man." The guy said. By the look of him, he was a big dude with huge bulging muscles. Then he said with a sneer, "But I'll only fight guys like him."
He pointed right at Broly, causing them all to look surprised. Lemo then tried to warn, "I wouldn't challenge our friend here. He's-"
"Can it, Shorty!" The man said. Broly frowned as he didn't like how the man was talking to his friend and stepped around the group. The man though a little startled by Broly's boldness, smirked as he said, "Oh, what's this, think you can take me, bro?"
Broly took a deep breath before saying, "I do."
"All right then." The man said before rearing a fist back. But when he threw it, Broly effortlessly caught it, startling the man. He looked completely shocked as he said, "Huh?"
But then his shock turned into great pain as Broly backhanded him with a closed fist. The man went flying before crashing through a brick wall. This caused both Randa and Brooks to become scared by Broly's strength while Lemo and Cheelai were scared that Broly might have overdone it a little. Lemo ran up to the man and said, "Uh, sir? Are you alright?"
"Uh." The man said while lifting his head up. But it fell down as he fell unconscious. 17 shrugged and said, "Eh, he'll be fine." Then talking to Lemo he said, "But we beat him so take the keys."
"Oh, right." Lemo said before swiping the keys from the man's belt. Tossing the keys to 17, the android handed them over to Brooks and he said, "Uh, why don't you drive?"
"Okay." Brooks said as he took the keys from 17. All six of them piled into the van and with the scientists in the front and the four in the back. Broly chose to sit in the floor since he was taller. Brooks turned it on and the van rumbled as it came to life. The sound of the engine roaring seemed to make 17 take in a deep breath and smile a little. As she and Lemo removed their disguises, Cheelai then asked him, "Like being in a car, 17?"
"It does remind me of my days of being human." He admitted. This caused both Bill and Houston to look to the android with quirked brows. They pulled into the road as Randa then said, "Okay, so now is a time for explanations."
"Right." 17 said. Pointing to the four of them he said, "The four of us came from the year 2019 a few days after a monster from space attacked your world. When it went to the past, we knew that we needed to follow it."
"And you figured that my journal would help you prove that you were from the future?" Brooks asked while glancing back. 17 nodded and then Brooks asked, "So why exactly do you need to talk to me exactly?"
"Because we need to go on the Skull Island expedition with you in order to stop the monster." Cheelai said. She then said, "Your future self said that it appeared on the island during your expedition. So we need to go and protect you."
"If you'll let us." Lemo added. Brooks looked to Randa who looked as if he wanted to object, but 17 then said, "But if you don't let us come with you, we have other means to get there."
"How?" Brooks asked. Broly then said, "We just do."
Brooks then said to Randa, "If we let them come, it would give us a little more man power."
"I see that." Randa said, knowing that his friend had a point. But then he added, "But how do we know that we can trust them."
"You don't." 17 said. Then he added, "But you'll just have to wait and see if we're worth trusting."
Brooks and Randa looked to each other before the latter gave in. He looked to the four and said, "Fine, we can all go together. But first we need to round up the rest of the team."
"Do you know who we're looking for?" Cheelai said. Brooks looked down at his brief case and said, "On the way out, Willis had someone print this out for us. It lists just the military expert that we need."
Looking down at the paper he said, "We need to contact one, Mr. Packard."
"But now back to you guys." Randa said, wanting to know more about them.

Da Nang Air Base, Vietnam
A 70's rock song was playing over a military base in Vietnam as the American troops started to pack up. Soldiers chatted as they walked across the field while others performed a few last minute drills. As some ran, they chanted as they passed a few other military personnel. Inside the hangar, a few soldiers were getting ready to ship out while others were lounging about just relaxing. Overhead, a man on the PA system announced, "Attention, all soldiers and base personnel. Final troop withdrawal will commence at 0600." A record playing the song continued as the man jokingly said, "Pack your bags, ladies. We're going home."
"Hey, Mills." One soldier named Reles said. This made a young dark skinned man to place a hand on his chin while saying, "Yeah?"
"How many letters did you end up writing to her?" Reles asked. Mills groaned as he tried to remember. Then he said, "Ten, fifteen."
"How many did she write you?" Another friend asked. Placing his hand on his chin again, Mills then shrugged as he guessed, "I don't know, three, four."
Most of the guys took in sharp breaths as they winced from that. A soldier, sitting in a lawn chair, then commented, "Man, you got a crummy mom."
Though he was slightly offended, Mills had a slight smile while the others shared a laugh together. With a nod, Mills then turned and said, "Thank you, Cole, for clearing that up. Thank you." The others still smiled as he then warned, "I'll be sure to tell her when I see her in the next forty-eight hours."
"Yeah, you might have a crummy mom." A soldier named Slivko jokingly said. This made everyone break out in laughter again as Reles then said, "Right?"
The soldiers continued to laugh as they were being watched by their commanding officer from a balcony above them. Holding a bottle in his hand, Packard observed glanced around, as if he were upset by how things had went.
Walking back into his office, Packard looked to a photo of him and the president before he sat down as a radio newscaster said, "The United States is making it clear to the Communists that American troop withdrawal is directly on the release of U.S. prisoners of war."
Removing his hat, Packard ran his hand over his bald scalp as the radio then said, "Washington notified the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese today that the withdrawal…"
Another soldier, a young man named Jack Chapman, walked into the room and asked, "Sir?"
"Chapman." Packard acknowledged before turning his head back. Chapman walked further in and asked, "You need anything, sir?"
Though he felt different, Packard just said, "All good."
"Roger that." Chapman nodded before turning to leave. Packard opened a drawer and took out a wooden box. Before the soldier fully left, his commander asked, "So what're you gonna do when you get back to the world, Chapman?"
Chapman had an answer as he turned back to Packard and said, "Oh, I'm already set up with Eastern Air Lines. Grace and Billy all moved in down in Atlanta." He was smiling as he said, "They were just waiting on me."
Packard was looking down into the box as Chapman then asked, "What about you, sir?"
(Cue Packard's Blues from DBS Broly)
Packard didn't answer as he stared down into the box. In the box were mementos of his time during his service. He thought of how the war went and its ending as he questioned, "All this for what?"
"Sir?" Chapman asked, not understanding what his commander was meaning. Packard looked to the soldier before shaking his head and saying, "Get out of here, Chapman. Go and have some fun."
"Is everything okay?" The worried soldier asked. While the commander held something in his hand, Packard nodded and leaned back while placing his feet on the desk as he said ,"Tip-top."
Chapman nodded before walking out of the room. Packard continued sitting at his desk while storm clouds rolled in overhead.
Soldiers laughed and had conversations as they walked off in the rain. Packard had come walking out of the base and was about to head somewhere when a soldier behind him shouted, "Colonel Packard!" The man turned back as the soldier told him, "There's a phone call for you."
Packard quickly walked across the base grounds. Taking it off the receiver, he held it up to his ear and said, "This is Packard."
"Packard, it's General Ward." A man on the other end of the line said. What he said next peaked Packard's interest, "You and your boys up for one last op?"
"I would not be opposed to that, sir." Packard said. The general then asked, "Your orders to head home have already been processed. Sure you don't wanna take some time off?"
"I'm here to execute whatever orders I'm given, sir." Packard said, acting like a soldier would. Then the general explained the mission, "Eh, don't get too excited. Bunch of scientists called Landsat discovered a new island on their satellite. They need helicopter transport for a survey job."
"Roger that." Packard nodded, willing to carry out the orders. Then he said, "And, sir?"
"Yes?" General Ward said. Feeling a new sense of purpose, Packard then told him, "Thank you."
Hanging up the phone, Packard smiled as he walked out of the phone booth to tell his men. But before he went to go round them up, he felt like going back to his office first.
(End of track)
After finding his way back, Packard opened the door and walked over to his desk. But as he was about to reach for the drawer, he felt that he wasn't alone. Slowly glancing back, Packard could see a figure sitting in the dark. He couldn't see the person entirely, but he could hear their breathing. Luckily for Packard, he was carrying a pistol on him and slowly unclipped it. Then placing his hand on the handle, he questioned, "Who are you?"
"You can call me a friend." The figure in the shadows told him with a deep voice. Slowly getting ready to make his move, Packard glanced to the lamp. Quickly tugging the chain, the lights came on as he whipped out the pistol and pointed it at the person. But the person seemed to have vanished. Packard lowered his weapon before sensing a presence behind him. Quickly turning around, he pointed his weapon at a black man in white armor and black pants. But the mysterious man acted quickly by grabbing the end of the barrel. The man in armor placed a finger to his lips as the gun started to turn into sand.
Packard's eyes widened as the entire pistol turned into sand and the bullets fell out of his palm. Packard backed up and he asked, "What do you want?"
"I'm Geras and I'm here to tell you about your upcoming mission." He told the colonel. Packard quirked a brow and said, "How do you know about that. And what about it?"
"That it won't be as it seems." Geras told him. Then he added, "As for how I know, I have my sources. And I advise you to not fully trust who or what you see."
Even though Packard could see some truths to what this man was saying, he didn't even fully trust him. He then questioned, "What do you gain from telling me this?"
"A clearer future." Geras said. His answer slightly confused Packard as Geras moved his hands. As if by some kind of magic, which it was, the pistol started to reform from the sand and became what it once was. Geras left the room as Packard looked down at the pistol. When he looked up he quickly moved after Geras and looked outside the door, only to find that his visitor had mysteriously disappeared. He looked around to see if Geras was down on the floor, but still no sign of him. Packard shook his head as he then moved to go find the boys and get them ready for the mission.

Quan Nam District, Saigon
After a plane ride over the ocean, the group of six soon found themselves in another country. It was raining in the Quan Nam District as they walked through the street. Randa and Brooks both held an umbrella, 17, Lemo and Cheelai all wore ponchos and Broly wasn't using anything. He believed the rain felt good to him. As he looked around to the passing people Brooks said, "Randa, I don't get it. You already got us a military escort. Why do we need a tracker? And why SAS?"
"Former SAS. No allegiance to anyone." Randa said as he looked back to his friend. Then he gave a little info about their new friend, "And he rescued twelve downed pilots in Da Nang, in nineteen seventy-two."
"Plus, it doesn't hurt to have a little more help in the field." 17 added. Cheelai smiled as she said, "Aren't you some kind of game ranger? Wouldn't you be good at what they need?"
"Maybe." The android shrugged. Then he pointed out, "But this isn't gonna be like in our universe. It'd be best if we had someone familiar for this one."
"Couldn't have said it better myself." Randa said from the front of the group. They moved between the slow moving traffic as Brooks then said, "But your source says that he spends most of his waking hours in some back alley watering hole."
"Does that mean he drinks like an animal?" Broly asked from the back. Brooks looked to the Saiyan when he said, "I wouldn't be surprised if it was."
"Is your Yale degree supposed to lead us through the jungle, Brooks?" Bill questioned as they were nearing the other side of the street, making a good point. Then he said, "Besides, my father told me never to judge a man by where he drinks, only how he holds it." Then he looked back and asked, "You all on board with me here?"
"Yeah. I guess so." All four of the time travelers said. Brooks sighed and said, "I guess so."
All six of them found themselves in front of a tavern and walked inside. Indistinct chattering filled the whole place. They were able to move around the folks and looked around the joint. He saw one of waitresses and said, "Well, okay.
"So, uh," Talking to Randa, and then the others, "how much exactly do we tell him?"
"Just enough to get him to say yes." Randa put it. 17 then added, "And unless the moment should arise, we keep the whole future thing to ourselves."
"Right." They all said in agreement. A slow song was starting to play as they walked further into the joint. They all looked about what the place had, and saw from entertainers to servers. Some of the girls in the club looked between 17 and Broly, and waved at them. Neither 17 nor Broly fully said anything, just glanced before looking ahead. They stopped when Bill saw who they were looking for. A man at a pool table was getting ready to take the shot. Then with a quick jab of his pool stick, The man hit the white ball which in turn hit the eight ball and made it roll into one of the middle holes in the pool table. Seeing as how he won the game, the man started to reach for the money. But as soon as he touched it, a Vietnamese man grabbed his wrist and started to speak as if the man who made the shot wasn't deserving of it. From behind, another Vietnamese man pulled out a man and started to walk up to them. The first Vietnamese man was still talking to him when the man with the pool stick sensed something was amiss. He hit the first Vietnamese man in the face with the pool stick before looking back to see the second running up to him with the knife raised. The man simply jabbed the pool stick in the second Vietnamese's face before sticking the stick into the first one's mouth and slamming his face on the table. A third picked up one of the pool balls and chucked it at the man, but he was able to dodge it and the ball smashed through a window. The third Vietnamese picked up a second pool ball and threw it at the man, but he used the broken end of the pool stick to knock it back at him and the pool ball hit the Vietnamese man between the eyes. The man fell unconscious as he fell to the floor.
The first two Vietnamese guys got up and were about to attack again. The man readied himself with two ends of the broken pool stick when 17 used the table to land a drop kick against the first Vietnamese guy while Cheelai came up from behind the second and landed a kick against the man's leg. The second Vietnamese guy cried out in pain before he felt a large hand grab him from behind and was tossed behind Broly.
From the sides, Brooks, Randa and Lemo all took in deep breaths from watching the action. Lemo then looked to the two humans and said, "Well that was a pretty decent show."
"I'll say." Brooks agreed. Randa turned to the two and said while pointing to the man, "Now there's a guy worth talking to."
The man set the broken pieces down as he looked between the three of his rescuers and said with a British accent, "I do appreciate the assist."
"Eh, no big." Cheelai said with a wave of her hand. Then with a nod of his head he introduced himself, "James Conrad."
17 then three then introduced themselves, "Name's 17. And these two are Broly," He pointed to the Saiyan before gesturing to the current female member of the group, and Cheelai." Then looking back to the other three he said, "And those our friends, Lemo, Houston Brooks and Bill Randa."
"A few odd names here and there." James admitted. Then he looked to each of them before asking, "What can I help you with?" Randa then walked up and said, "If you wouldn't mind giving us a little of your time."
The man looked between the six before motioning with his head, "Let's find a table."
Once they sat down at the table, Brooks pulled out a wad of cash bound by a piece of string and placed it on the table. As he slid it forward, their new friend immediately knew that this was a business call. Randa then told him what they needed his services for. Conrad then asked, "An uncharted island?" Then crossing his arms he said, "Let me list all the ways you're gonna die."
"Eh, we would actually prefer not to die." Lemo said with a nervous chuckle and rubbed the back of his head. But Conrad still went through the list, "Rain, heat, mud, disease carrying flies and mosquitos."
"Yeah, I already know about that kind of stuff. Being a ranger and all." 17 told him. James then said, "I'd figure on that. But it was mostly for these two." He pointed between Randa and Brooks before saying, "I can tell that the four of you have dealt with plenty of hardships, maybe in those categories, but these two will probably not even last two minutes. Not to mention that we haven't even discussed the things that want to eat you alive."
"We can pay double." Randa offered. James shook his head as he pointed out, "You have no idea how dangerous this is." Then he said, "I want five times that."
"Talk about your negotiator." Cheelai commented. Randa nodded to it when James then threw in, "Plus, a bonus if we make it back."
"If?" Brooks nervously asked. Even Lemo was looking a little nervous as he swallowed a lump in his throat. Conrad looked to the two of them with a look letting him know that he was serious. This made Brooks look to Randa and he said, "Pay him."
Randa looked to Brooks and Brooks said, "I think Mr. Conrad should be fairly compensated."
"Plus, it'll get us going faster." 17 said as he and the other three knew that time was pressing. Brooks and Randa understood the meaning of what he was saying, but this caused Conrad to look to the android with a questioning look. Holding up a glass, Bill said, "Here's to profit during peacetime."
"One question." James said. Then he asked, "You all came here looking for a tracker. Who or what am I tracking?"
"This is all the information that we have." Brooks said. Then he shrugged as he said, "Okay? There is no map." Randa glanced to his friend and nodded as he said, "Only satellite images. So we need someone like you, with your skill, your unique expertise in uncharted jungle terrain, to lead us on our ground expedition."
"We're just a few scholars, scientists and misfits of the bunch." Randa said. Though 17 was unfazed by what he said, and Broly didn't really know what it meant, Cheelai and Lemo both gave him a slight glare. Bill then said, "We need someone with the experience." Then he added, "In case things go sideways."
James Conrad didn't seem all that convinced, but Bill Randa then said, "Men go to war in search of something, Mr. Conrad." He then pointed out, "If you'd found it, you'd be home by now."
James knew that Randa had a point in all that he was saying. Cheelai then added, "I think I can speak for all of us when I say that we can't do this without you."
The entire group nodded as she did have a point. The next thing she said caught James' interest, "Plus, it'll be a good way to make some cash, right."
Conrad did nod with a smile as he did find some truth in her words.

Rock music played loudly as a photographer got ready to work in the red room. A woman flicked on a special light and began to work with the many pictures she had taken of the soldiers during the war. She placed one with a group of people wearing cone hats into one of the tubs so it could finish. The woman moved over to a few other photos before placing them on a wire with clips. She was about to get started on another set of pictures with the phone rang. The woman quickly rushed over and took the handle off of the receiver. Then placing it between her shoulder and ear, she grabbed as she said, "Weaver."
"Yeah, it's Jerry." The person on the other end said. Moving the phone to where she could keep working she said, "Hey, Jerry." Then she asked, "So, tell me, did I get it?"
"That Landsat thing?" Jerry asked. He confirmed it, "You got it."
"I did?" Weaver asked, now getting excited as she gave a laugh. Then reaching over, she grabbed a pen to write some notes down. The receiver fell and Jerry asked, "Hello?"
She quickly pulled it back up by the cord and set it down as he said, "It's the Athena, docked in Bangkok." She quickly wrote it down on the back of her hand as he said, "Pier fourteen, six o'clock tomorrow night."
"Eighteen-hundred tomorrow." Weaver said to clarify. Then with a smile she said, "Thank you. I really owe you one."
"I don't get it." Jerry asked over the phone, "Why do you want a gig documenting a mapping mission when you're up for the cover of Time?"
"Jerry," Weaver said to give him some advice, "when three sources tell you the same thing word for word, you know they're lying. There's something going on here, something that nobody is talking about."
(Cue Assembling the Team from Kong: Skull Island)
She looked over to her camera as she knew that she had a lot to do. Weaver was about to hang up when Jerry said, "And, uh, hey, Weaver?"
"Yeah?" She asked. He then said, "Just a little heads up to help you find the boat, there'll be a few real odd balls of the group."
"What?" Weaver asked, not understanding. Jerry then said, "That's just something that I heard. Okay, bye."
The other line clicked, meaning that Jerry had hung up. Weaver sighed as she too placed the phone down on the receiver.

Bangkok, Thailand
It was a few hours later as James Conrad walked through a building of some kind as people were working with welding tools. Sparks flew as he walked by as he made his way to the docks. He soon came by the Athena and found a welcoming committee waiting for him. Lemo, Cheelai and Broly stood by the hull of the ship. Cheelai was waving at him and shouted, "Hey, Yo! Over here, Conrad!"
James walked over and said, "Nice of you to wait for me."
"Well, we're also waiting for the others to arrive." Cheelai told him as she placed her hands behind her head. Conrad looked about and asked, "So where's 17?"
"Already on board, probably." Lemo said while pointing to the ship behind him with his thumb. Broly looked to the right and said, "We've got company."
They all looked in the same direction to see a truck with a tarp covering its back pulling up. They could hear some voices as someone said, "I can't believe we're doing this."
They walked around to the back as one of the soldiers said, "Are you guys kidding me?" The soldier shook his head as he ranted, "A day away. One day away!" They jumped off the truck as he continued, "And now, now we gotta go to another island with another jungle."
"Vietnam's not an island, dumb-dumb." Cole corrected while slinging his bag of his shoulder. Mills then said, "Well, Key West is, and that's exactly where I need to be right now, with a drink in my hand."
"And if all goes smoothly, it could still happen." A voice said from the side. They all looked to see a young man with long black hair, was wearing a white under-shirt with a black over-shirt, ripped up blue jeans and sneakers coming down one of the ramps. Mills then asked, "Who are you?"
"You can call me 17." The android offered and walked up to both soldiers. He extended a hand, which the group took. Looking past 17, Cole saw the other three, but mostly pointed to Broly as he said, "Check out that guy. Must do a lot of weights."
"Man! That guy is huge." Mills said in astonishment. He then looked back to Cole and said, "Key West is exactly where I need to be."
"Key West ain't an island either," Cole said as somewhat of a joke, "it's a key."
17 and Mills watched as the soldier carried on to the boat. Mills shook his head and commented, "You ain't funny, Cole." Looking back to 17 he asked, "And what is your role in this little venture?"
"Let's just say that me and my friends are extra muscle." 17 offered.
Broly watched the crowds as some people shouted and an officer starting to chase someone. Then an approaching woman came into his vision. He, Lemo and Cheelai as she came walking up to the boat and said to one of the scientists, "Mason Weaver, photographer."
The man turned to her, and looked as if he were expecting someone else as he asked, "Mason Weaver is a woman?"
"Last time I checked." She clarified. Then she walked past him and made her way to the boarding ramp. The scientist was a little baffled by this but still waved his board for her to go in the direction. Weaver was about to get on board when Packard, who was standing beside the ramp said, "Can I help you?"
The photographer pulled a slip of paper from her pocket and showed it to him. Taking the paper from her, the Lieutenant looked over it before asking, "Two years in country. Where you been?"
"Embedded with MACV-SOG." Weaver told him. This made Packard laugh as he said, "Ah, you were in that crud." With a nod he said, "I respect that." But then he added, "But it's people like you who lost us support back home."
"You're not actually gonna blame the people without guns for losing the war, are you?" Mason Weaver questioned. Packard then said, "Camera's way more dangerous than a gun." Then he pointed out, "And we didn't lose the war, we abandoned it."
"Right." She said before lightly scoffing. Weaver was about to start climbing aboard when she caught a glimpse of Broly, Lemo and Cheelai. She started to move towards them when Packard said, "Don't go too far, miss."
(End of track)
Weaver didn't say anything as she glanced back at him before continuing. When she reached them she said while extending a hand, "Hi. Mason Weaver, the photographer for this expedition."
"Cheelai." The green skinned alien woman introduced while taking Weaver's hand. Lemo then took it and introduced himself, "Lemo."
Though she didn't comment on it, Mason thought that they had some pretty strange names. She looked to the biggest member of the group and he said, "I'm Broly."
"Well, it's nice to meet you guys." Weaver nodded. Then with a slight shake of her head she asked, "So where are you guys from?"
This made the three look to each other before Cheelai chuckled and said, "Oh, we're from out of town."
"Huh." Weaver said. Then she asked, "So, are you guys scientists or something."
"More like muscle." Cheelai shrugged. Weaver then said, "Well, we should probably be getting on the boat."
The three nodded and they all walked over to the loading ramp as everyone else started to make their way up. Once they were aboard, the mooring lines were removed and the boat started to move away from the pier with a blow of its horn. As they walked along the deck of the ship, Broly, Lemo and Cheelai all felt a sense of relief that their mission was finally getting underway.

Author's Note: And I'll stop it here. Man, this was a pretty long chapter to write. But next we get into everybody meeting each other as they head for Skull Island. Hopefully, I'll be getting to the good stuff soon. I look forward to reading your reviews. Be sure to leave a comment either about if I've done something wrong or if you want something specifically to happen. See you next time.
