Chapter Sixteen: Tensions Flare and Tears Fall

Broly could still hardly believe that he was staring up at the face of his father. Sure, the Saiyan often thought about his loved one, but he didn't expect him to think about him now. Paragus took a step closer and held out his hand to his son. Broly was tentative to take it, but deciding to go for it he held out his own hand before grasping onto Paragus'. Broly was amazed at the feel, for it felt like if Paragus were truly with him at the moment. The older Saiyan helped his son to his feet and Broly stood on his own two feet again. Looking to his father in the eye he asked, "Is this real?"

"I'm not so sure myself." Paragus honestly admitted. Glancing about the ruined planet of Vampa he said, "But perhaps that the medicine that you took allows you to see me."

"How did you know about that?" Broly asked. Paragus then said, "Well, first, this is your mind isn't it?"

Broly nodded and said, "Secondly, I've been watching you fight with yourself for the past few hours."

"Hours?" Broly asked, feeling that it had only been a few minutes. Paragus then shook his head and said, "Not with your inner self, son. You've been fighting against the poison ever since that abomination infected you with it."

Broly looked away as he was conflicted in thought. Paragus then asked him, "What is it, Broly?"

"I don't know how to beat the infection." Broly told his father. He looked to the older Saiyan and said, "It feels like with each attack, it only makes it worse."

Paragus didn't say anything, but just stared at his son.

The reunited team stood on the edge of the valley and hadn't moved since they had arrived. Slivko then looked about the giant graveyard and asked, "What the heck is this place?"

"I'm surprised that you don't see a graveyard when you see one." Cheelai commented. Marlow glanced to her and then said, "All too true, little lady." Looking back down he said, "This is all what's left of Kong's parents."

"I've taken enough photos like this." Weaver said as she found the site sad and ominous. Deciding to get them back on track, Packard pointed his gun across the gravesite, "The Sea Stallion is just on the other side of this here valley." Some were looking a little uncertain of the plan as he said, "We'll just cross right through and make it to the highest point west."

"Uh-uh." Marlow disagreed with a shake his head, as he knew that this was a really bad idea. Everyone looked to him as he started wagging his finger and then he warned, "This place is a real no-no, sir."

"We need to be going to the north side of the island right now." Woodward strongly suggested. An annoyed Packard looked to the only scientist and said, "And you are most welcome to do that, my man." Then he firmly stated, "But you'll be by yourself."

Woodward only looked down as he didn't really want to be alone on the island. Packard then looked to the group and said, "I'm not planning on leaving Jack alone out there." He then questioned, "Now, who's with me?"

Everyone looked to each other before heading down into the graveyard. James sounded sure as he said, "We can make it."

"You're mighty right we can make it." Packard said to him. 17 then asked, "And if we can't?"

They all looked to the Android and he said, "We have no idea what could be down there."

"And yet, we're going down anyway." Packard firmly said. Some of the group sighed in frustration and Marlow adjusted his hat while the Colonel ordered, "Now, stay sharp. Keep an eye out for trouble."

Everyone started walking down the hill and into the boneyard. Marlow lagged behind as he sarcastically muttered, "I've only been here on the island for twenty-eight years. What the heck do I know?"

(Cue Boneyard track from Kong: Skull Island)

The group walked into the green fog surrounding the boneyard. Lots of bones from all sorts of creatures littered the ground. Some trudged through while others took tentative steps around the bones. Everyone stayed sharp as they kept look outs from most directions. While the soldiers all kept point, Weaver and Randa used their cameras to take a few pictures. As he walked by, Lemo's scouter suddenly activated. Looking to Conrad and Packard he said, "Hold up. Energy signature close by."

"How close?" Conrad asked him. Lemo pushed the button a few times, but the device appeared to be glitching due to the atmosphere around them. Lemo groaned before he said, "The particles in the air are messing this thing. I can't get a lock on or see what it is."

"We'll keep an eye out." Packard said as he raised his gun. Cheelai then spoke up, "Uh, you guys might want to take a look at this."

They all looked to see her standing in front of something. They joined her and looked down. Three-toed footprints went through the graveyard. Conrad kneeled down and took a good look at the tracks. Then he said, "It just passed by not too long ago."

"Maybe we should hurry up and get out of here." Lemo suggested. The sound of clicking made them look to Cole as he had taken out a cigarette and tried lighting it. Mills walked up to him and said, "Cole, we don't no time for that now, man. Put it out."

"And be careful of how you do it." 17 warned. He glanced about at the mist as he said, "We don't know what the smell is going to attract."

Cole just huffed before pulling it out and then tossing the cigarette away. It touched the ground in a specific spot and ignited the ground. An explosion knocked the two down and made everyone look in their direction. Randa then shouted, "Watch for those fumes!

"Idiots." Randa muttered as he went back to taking pictures. Cheelai then said, "If there's one of those, there's bound to be more. We really need to get out of here."

Mills and Cole picked themselves up and dusted themselves off. 17 hurried over and asked, "You two okay?"

"Yeah." They both said. Packard then said, "Let's go. We gotta get a move on!"

Everyone started heading out again. They walked between the bodies of Kong's parents while keeping an eye out. Suddenly, something snarled in the distance and everyone was put on edge. Cheelai looked to her friend and asked, "Lemo?"

(End of track)

"One sec." He said and tapped the button. Another screech and they heard Marlow shout, "Run, now!"

Deciding to finally take his advice, everyone scattered to safety. Everyone ran to pick a hiding spot. Some od the soldiers ran into a large skull and a soldier shouted to the others, "In here!"

They squeezed in through the mouth and looked through the openings for whatever could be out there. Weaver, Conrad, Lemo, Cheelai, Marlow and Slivko all hid behind a few other bones more out in the open but kept up their guard. 17, San, Brooks, Randa and Woodward all hid in the other skull and were startled when another screech rang out through the boneyard. Everyone breathed heavily but kept on guard, but sharply looked into the direction when they heard footsteps approaching them. A creature hissed as it started to appear in the mist. Everyone's eyes widened from seeing the Skullcrawler.

The Skullcrawler hissed as it sniffed around, its long tongue flicking in and out as it tried to sense its prey. Everyone cringed when it gave a shrill roar while getting closer to Conrad's group. Marlow looked between them and whispered, "I told you guys that this place was a real no-no."

"And we'll be sure to listen to you next time. Now shut up." Cheelai harshly whispered. They all waited to see if it would leave when the creature started making a new noise. The Skullcrawler's body convulsed as it started to retch. Everyone turned away as they all became disgusted when it started to vomit something out. Packard kept his men calm as it continued to make disgusting sounds. The Skullcrawler heaved one last time before something flew out of its maw and rolled on the ground. Everyone gasped when they saw a skull tumbling along the ground and could see something attached to the skull. Conrad took a good look at the object attached to the skull and saw that it was Chapman's dog tags. The tracker began to feel sorry for the man as they knew that their mission was now in vain.

But he was pulled out of his thoughts when the Skullcrawler took deep breaths. The Skullcrawler shook its head before turning to walk off. Though breathing heavily, everyone carefully looked from their hiding spots as the creature disappeared back into the mists. When he was sure that it was gone, Packard then looked to his group and quietly said, "All right, let's move out."

Everyone started to abandon their hiding spots and reconvened with each other. Packard then shouted, "Rally up! Rally up!"

"Do you really think that it's a good idea to be shouting?" 17 questioned as they regrouped with each other. Packard just looked at the Android before ordering, "Somebody needs to cover the civilians' six right now. Let's move out!"

James moved over to the skull and carefully removed the dog tags from it. Cheelai then commented, "Uh, gross."

"Take a look." Conrad said as he showed her the name. Weaver placed a hand over her mouth when she read the name. They then started to move again with Lemo at the back. But as he started to walk, Lemo took a glance at the skull of Jack Chapman. But then he noticed something a little odd about it. He could see tiny flecks of sand stuck to the skull in a few places. But before he could tell anyone, Cheelai grabbed his wrist and said, "Let's go!"

Lemo yelped as he was dragged away. He then tried to say, "B-But-"

But no one was paying him any attention as they continued to walk. Mills was really freaking out as he looked about but a comforting hand from Cole kept him going. Marlow unsheathed the katana and held it at the ready, knowing that the Skullcrawler was more than liable to come back. Randa brought up the rear and took one more picture but the camera started acting weird and continued to make loud clicking sounds. The camera continued to click and a snarling sound came from behind. Randa then looked up from his camera and said, "Oh, no!"

A pair of jaws clamped down on him and everyone turned around as the Skullcrawler started to eat Randa. Slivko and Lemo opened fire while Brooks shouted, "Randa!"

Though they hit it, the bullets didn't faze the Skullcrawler as it started to swallow Randa whole. The dead man went down the monster's throat as his camera continued it faulty flashing, slightly showing the insides of its body. Everyone not shooting watched in horror. The Skullcrawler started coming at Weaver and Cheelai and the girls let out screams. 17 acted quickly leaping between them and landing a well-timed kick to the Skullcrawler's face. The monster tumbled away from the group as the soldiers continued to fire at it. The Skullcrawler trilled as it got up before slinking off into the green mists. Everyone prepared themselves by raising what weapons they had. 17 gathered enough energy to create barriers around his fists. Packard then ordered his soldiers, "Go set up the fifty!"

A soldier moved to the top of a Triceratops' skull and quickly set up a huge machine gun and got ready to fire at the Skullcrawler. Everyone stayed on guard and looked out side of the circle. Suddenly, a camera flash went off somewhere in the mist. Since they couldn't exactly see how far away it was, they couldn't make any assumptions about it. They waited for the right moment as more flashes went off in the mists. The crawler let out a growl and it startled a few soldiers when another flash went off. Everyone was nervous, but it was to be expected when they were being hunted like prey. Another click of the camera made Mills start to sniffle in fear. The camera continued to click as the Skullcrawler got ready to attack. Marlow, Lemo and Android 17 was a lot further from the group and noticed the flashing light coming at them. 17 prepared his attack and said, "Be prepared, 'cause here it comes."

"Okay." Lemo said while Marlow moved his stance to where the blade of the sword was parallel with his head. Another flash went off in front of them. 17 then asked, "Anything on your scanners, Lemo?"

"Still fuzzy." Lemo reported. Then he asked, "Can you see anything?"

"Barely." 17 said as he narrowed his eyes. His eyes flickered when he thought he saw a shape running through the mists. Then he said, "It moves really fast for something so big."

(Cue Ambushed track from Kong: Skull Island)

"Death before dishonor." Marlow said in Japanese, remembering what his old friend. The two remained by the veteran's side as they peered into the mist. The Skullcrawler suddenly came charging from the mist right at them. The three moved out of the way while Marlow sliced the blade through the lizard's hide on its left leg and Lemo fired a few bullets. 17 brought up his hands up and landed a Barrier Punch that knocked the Skullcrawler away. The giant lizard screeched as it tumbled away from them. Conrad, Brooks, Packard and the soldiers all turned to the downed Skullcrawler before they opened fire themselves. The Skullcrawler picked itself back up and saw a target, the soldier on the Triceratops' skull opened fire as it charged right for him. Everyone scattered to avoid being trampled as it continued on its path. The bullets didn't faze the Skullcrawler and it used its head to obliterate the skull and send the soldier flying off with a scream. But before he could hit the ground, the Skullcrawler snatched the soldier out of the air with its tongue before pulling him in and swallowing him whole. The Skullcrawler turned its head and saw two new prey running for their lives.

Brooks and San looked in fear as the Skullcrawler chased Weaver and Cheelai through the boneyard. The soldiers, Lemo and Conrad tried to provide cover fire and blasted at the monster as it continued to chase the girls. The two ran under one of the leg bones of the giant ape skeletons while it was demolished by the pursuing Skullcrawler. It made a lunge for them, but the two ran as fast as they could. They ran into the rip cage of the other ape skeleton and ducked down to try and keep away from it. They screamed when the Skullcrawler climbed onto the bones and stuck its head through the ribs to try and get to them. Seeing them in trouble, Packard turned to a soldier and ordered, "Bring the torch! Go do your thing!"

Another soldier walked over with a flamethrower in hand. He walked up to the skeleton before lighting it up with a stream of flames. The Skullcrawler screeched in pain from the fire but it provided the perfect distraction for Cheelai and Weaver to make their escape. The soldiers continued to fire upon the Skullcrawler and it caused it even more pain. The Skullcrawler then whirled around and swatted the soldier with the flamethrower with its tail.

(End of track)

Packard watched as he screamed and flew through the air. He smacked into the skull of one of the giant apes and fell in. The skull was resting on a pocket and the flamethrower ignited the fumes, creating an inferno. The blast knocked everyone off their feet and a few cans of poison gas slipped from Slivko's bag. The canisters were affected by the flames and started to hiss. Conrad looked over to the unconscious soldier and shouted, "Slivko!

"Gas!" The tracker warned as he ran to help the soldier. The heat from the flames caused the canisters to explode and a green toxic vapor erupted around the flaming skull. The explosion was enough to send a flock of island birds flying and they screeched as they took to the air. The soldiers shot at them when the birds started coming towards them. Some soldiers were able to stand their ground while others were knocked down by the birds. Android 17 launched several Kiai attacks at the birds but made sure to only scare them off. The birds abandoned their attacks before taking off. The Skullcrawler's screech made the android turn around and saw that the flames were out and it was coming back. But his distracted gaze allowed the island birds to once again go on the attack.

Marlow helped the soldiers closest to him by slashing through the island birds with ease. As he rushed by, Conrad shouted to the veteran, "Marlow! Sword!"

More than happy to oblige him, time seemed to slow down when Marlow tossed the sword. James caught the blade in one hand before reaching down and grabbing a gas mask with the other. The whole boneyard was in a state of panic as those without guns hid and those that did fought for their lives. Conrad placed the mask onto his face before taking the sword with both hands. He was able to slash any of the island birds that came his way and the pieces fell to the ground. The flock of birds took off when they saw that their numbers were dwindling, leaving only one major problem for the group to deal with. When he had made it through the wall of poison gas, Conrad pulled the mask off before running to his friend. He sunk the blade of the sword into the ground while shouting, "Hang on, Slivko!"

The Skullcrawler started attacking the soldiers again as it ate another screaming man before turning and slamming its tail down to knock another away. 17 came up and delivered a kick to the Skullcrawler's side and knocked the monster away. But before it got far, the lizard wrapped its tail around the android's ankle and pulled him along. 17 cried out as he was hurtled through the air. 17 grunted when he hit the ground before turning around and firing a small orb of Ki. The sphere collided with the Skullcrawler's chest and sent it tumbling backwards. The monster once again picked itself back up and turned its gaze to Conrad and Slivko and charged for them. Noticing that it was starting to run, Packard warned, "This thing's moving again!"

Both men gasped as the Skullcrawler came right at them with its jaws wide. Lemo and Cheelai both moved in front of the beast with guns in their hands and opened fire on it. The bullets didn't faze the monster as it kept coming. Running up behind them, Weaver took out the lighter James gave her and ignited it as the monster came closer. Then with a hard throw, she sent the lighter flying through the air. The Skullcrawler passed over one of the vents just as the lighter landed. The flame caused a chain reaction that created a huge explosion. The flames of the vent were powerful enough to knock the monster and the five off their feet. They groaned as they picked themselves up and looked to the Skullcrawler. The burned monster gave a pained screech when it tried to get up, but it ended up falling to the ground dead.

The five lay on the ground panting from the battle. Packard looked around the battle-scarred boneyard and thought of all the men that he had lost. 17 and Marlow walked up to the five and helped them back onto their feet. Everyone looked about the flaming boneyard and 17 said, "We need to go. Before more of them show up."

"I second that." James said. No one else objected to it and started to make their way out of the boneyard.

The entire group were unaware that the protector of the island was watching the whole time. Though he was a little angry that they had desecrated his parent's graves, he gave the humans and their friends credit for defeating the Skullcrawler. But he could feel the hatred coming from one of the humans since some of the others had been killed.

Chapman and Geras were walking not too far from the boneyard when the sound of screaming, shooting and explosions went off. Geras looked in the direction of the battle and was able to get a sense of what was happening. Chapman stopped and looked to the observer. The sounds of battle lasted for a few minutes before ending with a loud explosion. Then he questioned, "Tell me, Geras. How can I just sit by and let my friends be killed?"

"You will not have to stay on the sidelines for much longer." Geras said before turning his attention away. Chapman didn't look too thrilled with it as the observer started walking again.

(Cue Frieza's Scheme, Premonition of Death track from DBS: Broly)

As he started to follow the construct, he then asked, "So, uh, where exactly is it that we're going?"

"A place that is not too far from your wreckage or the final battlefield." Geras informed without turning around. Jack began to feel like that Geras' words and intentions weren't what he had been told. Chapman then said, "Hang on a minute."

Geras did stop and turned to look at the soldier. Chapman then asked, "How badly would the future be altered if were to meet up with them before the arrival of your monster."

"It would invoke them to ask questions that you could not be able to answer." Was all that Geras said before continuing onward. Chapman started to think about what he was saying but still continued on. It didn't sit well with Jack, but he was hardly one to complain at the moment.

The group had entered another forest section and were taking a breather after what had happened. Marlow moved in front of Packard and said, "Now look here, Colonel, you may outrank me…"

Everyone looked to the man who knew the island better than them. Marlow looked very serious when he said, "But I've been on this here island a heck of a lot longer. I know plenty of what can happen here." He pointed back the way they came and said, "And I'm telling you right now, that thing that just shredded us was only the first of them." He seemed calm at first," Now we're on their turf, which means that there'll be a lot more…" His face scrunched up as he shouted, "And we really need to turn back toot sweet, brother!"

"Not as long as Chapman's still out there." Packard disagreed, not willing to leave a man behind. But James then said, "I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this, Colonel Packard." The colonel turned to him as he lifted the tags and informed, "But Chapman is dead."

Packard and the soldiers all looked to the dangling dog tags and began to feel sorry for him. Packard could feel his rage burning more than ever at the loss of another man. Conrad lowered the tags and waited to see what he would say. Packard then said, "It doesn't change a thing!" Deciding to avenge all the fallen he said, "We're still going to that crash site."

"What's at that crash site that you want so badly?" James asked while everyone looked to the colonel. Packard had an angry glare as he said, "Weapons! Enough to kill it."

Conrad knew who Packard was talking about and said, "Kong didn't kill Chapman."

"But he did kill these men." Packard angrily reminded as he lifted the other tags of the fallen soldiers from yesterday's battle. Everyone could see that venge was overtaking him as he shouted, "My men!"

"You can't kill Kong, Colonel." Marlow said, thinking that it was ludicrous. Packard looked to him as he said, "Kong is the protector of this island." Pointing back to the boneyard he said, "He's the only thing keeping them lizard things in the ground."

"He's right, Colonel." Brooks said, making everyone turn to him. The geologist then shook his head and said, "We can't kill Kong." He looked to the three as he remembered and said, "Now, that other creature? That's the real threat."

"Plus, since everyone knows of our mission," Cheelai said, "we have another one of them is coming. And it's even larger and worse than what killed Randa and those soldiers."

"Not to mention, there's probably more of the normal Skullcrawlers down in the vents." 17 added, causing a few soldiers to look worried. Brooks tried to talk some sense into Packard by saying, "If you take away a species' natural competition, they'll soon get out of control."

"Then we'll end them too!" Packard said, willing to blow up the island just to kill all those he considered monsters. But he wanted to get even with the ape as he said, "After we bring this thing down."

Marlow dropped his bag and unsheathed his blade. Then he stood against Packard and he warned, "I can't let you go and do that, Colonel Packard."

"Whoa, whoa." Conrad said as he tried to calm everyone down. All the soldiers raised the guns at Marlow while Lemo and Cheelai aimed their weapons at the soldiers. James then shouted, "Hold your fire! Hold your fire!"

Packard quickly moved against Marlow by pushing the blade of the sword away. Marlow staggered back and it left him open. The colonel took the advantage by using the butt of his gun and hit Marlow in the gut with it. Cheelai came to his aid by kicking the colonel in leg with her boot and following up with the butt of her gun to his chin. Lemo moved to help Marlow while Packard glared at Cheelai and aimed his weapon at her. 17 decided to step in by grabbing the end of Packard's gun and shoving it down. James then said, "Everyone just calm down!"

"This is one war that we are not gonna lose." Packard shouted to the group. Marlow then shouted to them, "Nuts! You hear me? This plan is nuts!"

"Please!" San pleaded, wanting to get the group back on track. Knowing that they had bigger problems she said, "You need to listen to us!"

"We're not at war with Kong, Colonel. You're making a big mistake." Brooks said as he took a step forward. Packard raised his gun and angrily said, "Your lies got my men killed!" Then looking to the three he said, "And your coming here didn't make anything better! Not for us! And not for the future!"

"And you're not gonna help us by getting us all killed!" Weaver shouted as she moved between the colonel and the others. Conrad pulled her back and said, "This isn't our fight."

"Whose side are you on, Captain?" Packard asked with a glare. 17 then said, "If you're going to go, then go."

"He makes a good point, Colonel Packard." Conrad agreed. Then he pointed in a direction, "You'll find your Sea Stallion just three klicks up that ridge." Gesturing to the known soldiers he said, "Now, I'm going to take these civilians here back to the boat. And we'll wait for you there.

"All right?" He asked and placed his hands up in a calming manner. Packard continued glaring at Conrad, Weaver, the scientists, Marlow and the time travelers. Everyone waited to see what he would do. He decided to take it as he looked to his men and ordered, "Saddle up!"

Everyone took deep breaths as it had been a really hectic experience. They moved out as Packard said, "Let's go and kill this thing!"

As he was the last to follow, Slivko looked to be in conflict with himself about what he should do. But he still followed after his leader and friends. Marlow hung his head in frustration to the whole idea. Slivko glanced at them all before looking ahead. Packard glanced back and called, "Hey, Steve, you running with the big dogs or are you staying on the porch?"

"I don't wanna be left on the porch." A somewhat reluctant Steve said before holding his gun close and followed after Packard. Lemo and Conrad helped Marlow up to his feet and James asked, "Marlow, are you okay?"

"We really need to stop him." Marlow said with concern as he stood up. But James put a hand on his shoulder to stop him from trying again, knowing that it was a bad idea. Weaver then asked, "Do you wanna go and talk with him about it again?" She glanced to the leaving soldiers and said, "He seemed to really go for it the first time around."

"He's losing his grip." Conrad said, knowing that Packard was bent on getting revenge. Lemo then said, "It's going to end up destroying him. Just as it did Paragus."

"Paragus?" Brooks asked as most of the group was confused. Cheelai looked to them and simply put it, "Broly's abusive father."

"Oh." They all said and understood. 17 then said, "We need to get a move on."

"Right." Conrad said before leading the group back, this time around the boneyard. They walked through the trees while Conrad said, "Now, follow me, and we'll get off this rock alive." Glancing back he asked, "17, Lemo, think you can keep an eye out for danger?"

"Sure thing." Lemo said while 17 nodded. Conrad then said, "Cheelai, Brooks. Keep your weapons on standby."

\_|_/

After about half an hour of walking, Packard, his men and Woodward came across the spot where Chapman left his bag. Steve gave the men their space as they mourned for their comrade. Mills walked up as Packard looked over the booklet and bags. Looking to Mills he said, "Make sure that those get back to his family."

The colonel walked away as the rest of the soldiers as Mills did a more respectful saying for his friend, "Dear Billy…"

"Your dad was one of the best to ever do it." He then removed the letters from the pack before pulling the knife out. Cole picked up the bag and the troops headed off again.

\_|_/

Broly nor his father moved from their spot in what seemed like hours, nor were there any words spoken between them. Paragus then said, "Broly…"

His son looked to him. Paragus looked to him with his one eye and said, "You're in this mess because of me."

(Cue Tears of Joy from Inside Out)

"What do you mean?" Broly asked while tilted his head. His father then explained, "When I was alive and before going to Earth, all I was ever really focused on was teaching you how to fight, but never to control your power. I turned you into a living weapon with the sole purpose of revenge."

The older Saiyan looked out to the barren planet of Vampa as he sat down. He then said, "Maybe I got so upset over your exile is because I really cared, but when I saw your potential I lost sight of that. But maybe…" He stopped as he closed his eyes and hung his head. Then he admitted, "Maybe I contributed my pain for nearly losing you to the pain of losing your mother."

Broly became surprised to hear his father talking about his mother. He knew that in the past, he hardly thought of his mother because of how hard he was training. And when he did try to ask, Paragus told him to only focus on getting stronger. Broly remained silent and his father said, "It was just a little after you were born and your potential analyzed. When she was fit again and standing on her own two feet, King Vegeta decided to send her off world.

"And the last time that I saw her was when she departed." Paragus shut his eyes tightly and remembered, "They told me a few days later, right before King Cold and Frieza showed up, that she had been killed in battle.

"I mourned for her, and I didn't want to lose another of my family. And I promised to her that I would look after you." Paragus opened his eyes and stared at the ground. Paragus looked angry, but didn't shout at Broly, "And when I learned that King Vegeta was planning to send you away. I was so infuriated, that all I wanted to do was to save and to make the king pay for what he had done."

Broly didn't know what to say, but Paragus then looked up to his son and tears started to well up in his eye and he said, "Broly. I am so sorry, for everything."

Broly felt a new emotion touching him, he could feel that it was a mixture of happiness, but also one where his heart hurt. Tears started to well up in his eyes as Paragus stood back up and walked up to the taller Saiyan. Father and son looked each other in the eye and Broly was very surprised to what Paragus did next. Paragus embraced his son, for the first time ever. Broly shakily wrapped his arms around his father and the two let tears fall. Broly truly enjoyed the time that he was sharing with his father, whether Paragus wasn't really there or not. When they stopped the embrace, Paragus wiped the tears from his eye while Broly did the same. Paragus then cleared his throat before saying, "I think I know how you can beat this."

"How?" Broly asked, as he truly didn't know what to do. Paragus then said, "Simple. Using your fists or your anger isn't making any head way. It's from here that you need to use."

Paragus then tapped Broly's chest, right where his heart would be. Broly looked down at the spot before looking back at his father. He then asked, "Do you really think I can do it, Father?"

"I know you can." Paragus said as he placed a comforting hand on his son's shoulder. With a grin he said, "When you put your mind to it, you can achieve anything."

Broly smiled to this and said, "Thank you, Dad."

"Anything for you, Son." Paragus said before removing his hand. He gave one more piece fatherly words by saying, "Good luck, Broly. I love you."

Broly's eyes widened to this as Paragus faded. Broly stared at the spot as tears once again welled up in his eyes. The Saiyan started crying as he fell to his knees. But he didn't stay on the ground for long. He wiped his eyes again and smiled and said again, "Thanks, Dad."

(End of track)

Broly slowly turned to the direction of his younger self, knowing what he had to do now.

Author's Note: (Sobs) I got to tell you, writing the end of this chapter had me wanting to cry. (Takes a deep breath and calms down) I know that Paragus, King Vegeta or Bardock never really, you know, got all touchy-feelings with their kids, but I think they'd really be proud of the men that they've become. Though, I would say more for Bardock or Paragus than King Vegeta. I thought that the Tears of Joy track was a nice touch since, it was in Broly's mind. I look forward to reading your reviews. Be sure to leave a comment either about if I've done something wrong or if you want something specifically to happen. See you next time.
