Hello there, if you're here from Warriors of Peace or Ghosts, don't worry, I'm not abandoning either in favor of this, this is just a little something I like to write about whenever I feel like it.
A lawbringer stands opposite to a warden, the longsword wielding knight takes a small object from her pocket and slams it into the wooden table.
"You're supposed to know everything, tell me what this symbol means!"
The other knight took the object into his hand and looked at it curiously. It was a piece of metal with an engraved symbol, one of an eclipse with an eye in the middle, which seemed to pierce into his soul, as if looking at him with great interest.
"I need an answer, Galileo…" said the warden impatiently, her arms crossed and feet tapping on the floor. The lawbringer looked back at her with a frown and a shake of his head.
"I-" he was speechless, for the first time in a long, long time. "I don't know."

Few names are whispered with as much respect, fear and mockery as the Observers, and why wouldn't it be? An organization supposedly so secret that not even Lawbringers know about it, an order so powerful it could singlehandedly turn the tides of war in favor of whoever they wanted? One wouldn't be blamed for dismissing it all as just a legend or myth, nothing more than a name used by instructors to scare the new recruits and mothers seeking to make their children behave.
Legends however, always come from somewhere.
The Observers are they who have influenced the outcome of countless battles not with armies and war machines, but through deceit, sabotage and murder. Throughout Heathmoor's long bloody history it is they who have acted as an equaliser, sabotaging all efforts to create new weapons and war instruments, their true purpose remaining a complete and utter mystery.
They have eyes everywhere, agents and connections to call upon to do their bidding but not an army, never an army, they won't directly interfere with any conflict unless the Oculi; the order's master, deems it so.
In their eyes, there is no thing as a price too high or blood too precious, they will act against anyone who stands in their way towards their unknowable goals.
However, as neutral as they are, there have been cases, far and few in between throughout history where the order has actively allied with someone. Those who have been on the Observers' good side have suddenly found themselves with almost unlimited power. Samurai mercenaries? They're yours, need an assassin? Done, want your enemy to be suddenly raided by vikings? It all shall be done. Vast in resources and almost limitless in tactical potential, they are indeed a powerful ally.
In recent memory however, they have remained tame in comparison to their former selves from centuries before, whether it's because of a lack of an imminent threat or simply the Oculi's decision is unknown, even to their own agents. Indeed, they have been reduced to simply spying or acting in ways so subtle that one would not notice unless looking for it, and even then, those that do are quickly dismissed as paranoid or mad.
Today, the name has practically disappeared into irrelevance, no longer seen as the mystical power that sees all in Heathmoor, or the boogeyman of the knights of Ashfeld. But one must remember:
They are here, and always watching.
Aight that's it, hope ya like it.
PS: If you are indeed coming from Ghosts, then REJOICE! Chapter 2 is in the making.
