Han watched in surprise as his father pulled out a shining blue sword from behind his back. It was the best magic trick he'd seen so far. Everything was so confusing. Lightning seemed to flash constantly, messing with his eyesight. One minute his father fighting one scary knight, next minute he was fighting another.

His father hand shot out, flinging a knight away. Han could feel his father's fast heartbeat through his chest. Soon all the knights were vanquished and his father carried him towards a woman who was fighting off a team of guards dressed in red. It didn't take him long to realize the woman was his mother, he held out both hands to her, but she didn't see them.

Ben pushed aside the last guard and their eyes met. Ben stood next to Rey and together they looked down at their son, who had grabbed Rey's hand and placed it on Ben's. The moment was so precious that they completely forgot about the Emperor or the battle happening above. "A family of fools, how touching." Palpatine growled.

Both parents lifted their blue blades. Ben clutched looks saber while Rey held Leia's. "Stand together die together!" Palpatine held both shriveled hands towards them. Rey and Ben's lightsabers wen flying and the two were forced on their knees, Han was sent rolling on the ground, his body soon covered in bruises and scratches. The child didn't cry as he was unconscious.

"Han!" Rey screamed and suddenly felt drained. A invisible current of energy came from Ben and Rey and into Palpatine. The Emperor flinched and stared at his hands, which slowly began to heal. "The life force of your bound... a dyad in the force. A power like life itself" He said in wonder.

Both Rey and Ben fought against the invisible chains holding them down and away from their son. "And now the power of two, restore the one true Emperor." Rey screamed as life itself was sucked out of her and transferred into Palpatine who was cackling loudly, even louder than the battle above. Eventually, two bodies fell on the ground and the Emperor stood above them, completely healed.

"Look what you have made!" The Sith followers cheered, celebrating their leader's return. Above, the Rebels had been joined by forces all over the galaxy and now the Final Order was experiencing great losses. Still Palpatine grinned in triumph, his smile only faded when Ben regained consciousness and unsuccessfully tried to stand. Han began to stir nearby and with a single swift movement, the Emperor lifted the infant in the air. "As I once fell, so falls the disgusting abomination of Skywalker and Palpatine blood!" He flung Han towards a huge pit. The bottom of the pit was too far down to see.

Ben stumbled to his feet, determination pulsing through his veins. He caught Han in mid-air before the two fell down into the depths of the pit. Rey watched them disappear but was unable to muster the energy to even call out their names. Instead, she screamed inside her head, as the connection between her and Ben weakened and disappeared.

Were they dead?

Rey then tried reaching out for her son through the force, but she was too weak.

"Do not fear their feeble attack, my faithful." Palpatine looked up to where the ceiling had opened. The battle against the Final Order was still raging on, yet now the tables had turned and the Resistance, along with the rest of the galaxy, were slowly destroying the Final Order ships, one by one. "Nothing will stop the return of the Sith!"

Lightning zapped out of the Emperor's hands, blinding Rey.

Ben's could feel his heart racing and the cold wind blowing past him as he fell further and further down with Han in his arms. Han did not cry, but he shivered with fear. Perhaps he was feeling the same way as his father. So scared you couldn't even scream.

Rey was up there, alone. He wasn't strong enough to sense her, but he could feel Han. His bright light in the darkness filled him with hope. His hand outstretched running against the harsh stone wall for something to grip onto.

His palm, fingers and finger nails began to burn and bleed until finally he was able to grip onto the rough stone. They stopped suddenly and Han almost slipped from his arm.

Han's sobs were soft and quiet as he clutched onto his father's shirt.

"It's okay, I've got you. Dad's got you." Han breathing slowed as the two hung their in silence. But the silence was broken by a buzzing sound, coming for above the pit. Lightning, followed by a thunderous rumbled. Dust and stones fell down on them and Ben clutched his son close to his chest.

"Rey." Putting his two feet against the wall he pushed up and quickly grabbed at the wall. His hand was raw and felt like it was on fire, but he gritted his teeth and continued to climb, with one hand at his chest supporting the young infant. At some point during their fall he'd twisted his ankle and in the impact from him colliding into the stone had broken one of his ribs.

The lightning had stopped and the ground had ceased rumbling. The top of the pit came closer and closer...

Thump!

His hand reached the top. He grunted loudly as he placed Han on the ledge and then climbed up after him. The Sith Church was in ruins. The Emperor's throne, the huge stone statues of past Sith, the Sith followers and the Emperor himself was gone.

The battle above had ended, his glanced up at the open ceiling. The Final Order Destroyers were falling to the ground and small fighter ships were flying off one by one. Everything was eerily quiet.

Ben's energy, despite the climb, was slowly beginning to return. But no matter how hard he tried he could no longer feel Rey.

He looked around blinking through the dust still hanging in the cold air that stuck to the thin layer of sweat covering his forehead. Han made a small sound, not quite a word but if it was, Ben guessed he was trying to say something along the lines of, "Look!"

Han had gotten on his feet and was slowly stumbling towards a figure, lying motionlessly on the ground.

"Rey." He breathed, standing on his feet and wincing at his twisted ankle. Every breath he took hurt and he clutched his rib cage in pain. In the silence only his short breaths and slow, uneven footsteps could be heard.

He collapsed beside Rey and when he looked at her, he felt more pain than any physical wound he'd ever experienced.

Rey's eyes were wide open, she wasn't breathing and the bright light that had once surrounded her was gone. It wasn't dark, it'd just... disappeared. Han was holding onto his mothers arm and shook it ever so slightly, as if to wake her.

His Han went to Han's head, stroking the midnight hair they both shared. Then his arms went to Rey and he lifted her onto his lap. He sat their, before putting his hand on her stomach and attempting to control his breathing.

"Don't leave me. Han needs you, I need you." He sobbed, for the first time in years, a tear fell down his cheek. Energy, whatever was left of it, flowed through him and into her limp body.

He closed his eyes, ignoring the pain and focusing on share his life with her. When he opened his eyes, Rey was still lying limp, but above him stood a familiar figure. Someone he hadn't seen in ages.

"Mum..." His voice was shaky. Han looked up at his grandmother with wide eyes.

Back on Yavin, Leia was lying on her bed, her eyes closed but he conscious far off on Exegol.

Ben had seen Luke do the very same trick on Crait. His stomach churned. "Ben." She whispered.

"Mother I-"

"I know." She raised a hand. Han reached for her but his small hand went straight through her robes. Leia looked down at her grandson, who looked so much like his father.

Leia closed her eyes and Ben watched as she disappeared. He could feel her energy flow from the air and into Rey. "We will always be with you." Ben's father's voice sounded in his head and tears continued to slide down his cheeks, washing away the dust clinging to his skin. A Han gripped his lightly and looked down. Rey blinked, sitting up.

"Ben."

Hesitantly, as if she couldn't believe it, her fingers brushing his cheek, wiping away a tear. "Rey." Their faces were inches apart from each other, but that distance soon vanished as their lips touched. The eerie quiet was suddenly peaceful, as if the world had paused just for them, so they could have this moment. Once their lips separated, Han gave a playful squeal and clapped his hands.

Both parents laughed softly, still holding each other. Han crawled onto their laps, staring up at them with his light eyes. "Mum-da!" He giggled as he squished the two words together and formed his first word. Rey's head rested on Ben's broad shoulder and she sighed. She could once again feel him and their dyad connection... and their son.
