Since he'd stormed out of the casino on Canto Bight Han had been looking over his father's card over and over again for about the hundredth time that day. His eyes kept falling on the line, 'I hope this lightsaber, which was mine when I was 16, will help to light your way.' He'd begun thinking of the photo of his father when he was young.

Then a thought had slipped into his head. He barely spoke as he flew the Falcon to Yavin 4, where Luke Skywalker had once trained his own class of Padawans. Where his father had once trained. "Where are we?" Cam asked as they landed in the forest terrain. The ruble of the once-beautiful temples, that could be seen in the background of the photo, littered the ground.

Moss had ground over the remains, making it almost blend into the forest itself. "Stay in the Falcon." Han ordered but of course, the last thing Cam would do was listen to him. Han's boots shuffled through the long wet grass that stained his pants. The old ruins reminded him of his mother's Jedi Temples. A line of broken stone huts stood among the tall trees. In the center of the clearing, a large structure, cast a shadow over the two boys. "The old Jedi Temples." Cam mumbled. "Why would you wanna come here?"

Han ignored him and instead closed his eyes, trying to imagine what that place might have looked like before Kylo Ren was born. He imagined hundreds of young Padawans enjoying each others company, training alongside each other. Through the force he tried to feel what the Padawans from before had felt. Joy. Peace.

Han's eyes opened and he stared at a hut. It was away from the others, on a more rocky side of the clearing. Cam had been examining the ruins when he noticed Han was no longer standing beside him. He was walking towards a distant hut. Curiously, Cam followed him in silence. As the boys approached the hut slowly. Its whole roof had seemed to have caved in. The force was unstable around them. Something bad had happened there, years ago. Long before they were even born.

Han bent down, and with some effort, lifted a chunk of stone. Underneath it was a sheet of paper which he quickly grabbed before dropping the stone. He guessed it was notes that'd been taken during classes. Grabbing his birthday card, Han compared the writing from both sheets of paper. It was his fathers hand writing.

"This is his hut isn't it?" Cam broke the silence, yet there was no remorse or empathy in his voice. "This is where he turned on his master."

Han didn't even bother to remind him that Master Skywalker had visited Ben's hut in the night, planning to kill him in his sleep. Han looked over the notes, but was surprised to find they weren't notes, but part of a diary entry.

1674 AD 8:21pm

Today Master Skywalker came to oversee how we've improved in lightsaber training.
I had to borrow my friend, Jido Kara's, lightsaber as I am yet to finish mine.
I dueled alongside my friend, Jido Kara.

Master Skywalker has been acting strange around me for a while. I noticed it during training today, when he barely met my eyes.
I asked him if everything was alright, but he shrugged me off.

The voices in my dreams have returned again.
I don't want to alarm Master Skywalker, but I eventually told Jido, when he asked me if I was okay this morning.
The voices are coming through the force, I know it. Someone is trying to talk to me.
The voice has offered me things no Jedi ever could. Jido agrees with me, saying that I should listen to them.

Master Skywalker confirmed this afternoon that a new evil, known as the First Order, was slowly taking control of the galaxy
and threatening the peace.

Preparing for the worst, Jido and I were able to find a safe house, so that if either one of us needs to disappear
we can go there. We put the coordinates on two separate Binary Beacons. One each.

We both promised to never let our Beacon leave our sides.

Jido even came up with a way to find each other's Beacon's, so that if one of us ever needs to find the
other, their Beacon will light the way-

The words afterwards were smudge and moss had grown on the bottom half of the page. The last words felt familiar, but Han couldn't tell from where he had heard them. Cam shifted uncomfortably next to him, reading over his shoulder. "Jido Kara?"

"The Beacon will light the way." Han mumbled.

"So... wait, there's another Beacon?" Cam grabbed the piece of paper and Han caught sight of his father's lightsaber, hanging from Cam's belt.

"It says our Beacon should light the way to the other. We need that Beacon to find my father." Han said determinedly, running back to the Falcon. He was so close to finding his father and a new hope had filled his chest. Cam watched him go. He had no idea why Han was so happy, why he wanted to find his murderous father.

If Kylo Ren had been his father, he would've spent his whole life hunting the coward down. And that's what he was going to do, once they found him.

Rey woke up with a start. Something wasn't right. Something was gone. She jumped out of bed and quickly got dressed. The sun had only just begun to rise in the distance and the morning air was cool on her skin. She walked out of the temple and stopped. The Falcon was gone. Had Finn and Chewie left? She hadn't expected them to leave so early without saying goodbye.

She shuffled down the corridor of the temple and opened the door to Finn's room. He was asleep and Rey blushed when she saw Finn without his top on, resting in what looked like an uncomfortable position. "Finn. Finn." She shook him and he groaned. "Finn wake up!"

"Whaaat?" He groaned, his voice dry.

"Did Chewie take the Falcon?"

"We're not leaving until at least 9am."

"But the Falcon's gone." Finn sat up lazily.

"The Falcon's gone." He mumbled, his brain not seeming to understand the message. "The Falcon is gone." He repeated slowly, then suddenly jolted awake. "The Falcon's gone?"

"Yes, that's what I said!" Finn got up and pulled a t-shirt on, running out of the room in his boxers. "No, no, no, no!" He yelled, waking up all the Padawans, who looked out of the windows in confusion. Chewie sleepily walked towards Finn and wailed when he saw the Falcon was gone. "Where'd it go? Someone took it!" Finn panicked. "Rey, Chewie I'm so sorry."

The ship had been passed down to Rey after Han's tragic death, but since she opened the new Jedi Temples she had no need for it, so she'd given it to Chewie and Finn. "It's okay, Finn. I'm sure it's just one of my students playing a joke or giving it a spin." She turned to the Padawans. "Did anyone see what happen or know who did this?"

There was a loud wave of chatter, then someone yelled over the crowd of voices. "Cam left the hut late last night!"

"Where is he now?"

"We don't know," said another voice. "He didn't return."

Rey got the same feeling from earlier, that something was missing. She looked around, but didn't see the familiar face of her son. She walked to his hut at the edge of the clearing and knocked on the door. No reply. "Han?" She pushed open the door and gasped. The room was empty. Han's weapons, clothes and other items were gone, along with his rucksack. On his desk was a note.

Dear Mum,

I'm sorry I didn't get to tell you this in person,
but I knew you'd say no.

I opened the present from Dad and
have left to find him.
I've taken the Falcon and
I may be gone for a couple of days.

Please don't try to find me.

- Han 'Sky' Solo

Rey's hands shook, so violently that she dropped the note and stumbled onto Han's bed. "Oh, Han." She sighed. Finn walked into the hut and stiffened when he saw tears on Rey's cheeks, she hadn't even realized she was crying. "Rey? What's wrong? Where's Han?"

"He's gone!" She wailed putting her face into his hands. Finn noticed the note on the ground and read it. "He's looking for Ren? But... how would he find him?"

"I d-don't know!" She stammered. "It must've been in that present. The present Ben made me promise to open with him on his sixteenth birthday." Finn's shoulders went ridged. Even the mention of Ben Solo's name, that Rey said so casually, was enough to put him in an bad mood. "Now he's gone to find him."

"Do you know where Ren is? Rey?"

"I do." She finally whimpered. "He told me before he left."

"Where Rey, where?"

"I can't say." Her whole body shook. "I can't say."

"Why are you still protecting him?" Finn asked, before taking a calming breath.

"I'm not just protecting him, I'm protecting Han. He already feels alone and... and I couldn't bare to-to turn his father in and-" SHe broke off as Finn hugged her.

"Calm down. Calm down. Rey, it's going to be fine. But you have to tell me where he's going, Han could be in serious danger and if I guessed correctly one of students is too."

"What do you mean?" She looked up, her eyes red from crying.

"That missing Padawan, Cam, he could be with Han. I promise I will bring them both back-"

"No!" Rey sat up straight. "I'll go get them. I know where they might be heading."

"To Ren?"

"No, the Binary Beacon only contains half of the coordinates. The other half is protected by a friend of Ben's. And don't ask me who, cause I can't say. But I will retrieve them alone."
