"Come on!" Han yelled in frustration, fiddling with the Beacon. Cam was lying lazily on the couch, shinning his blaster with a piece of cloth. Han turned the small device over in his hand, looking for something that could help them track the other. "Come. On." He said through gritted teeth.

Cam gave a bored groan, glancing out the ship's window. They hadn't left Yavin 4 yet and Cam's patience was running thin. "You've been fiddling with that thing for half an hour. Give up!"

Han ran his fingers through his hair. "There has to be a way. There has to be." Cam shut his eyes and laid down as if he was preparing to pass the time by sleeping. "My dad wouldn't have given it to me if there wasn't a way to find the other."

Cam shrugged and sighed. "Look, this is pointless and you know it. Can we go now? I still have a few planets I wish to visit before we head back." Han leaned against the wall. The strange feeling that he'd forgotten something important creeped over him. In his hand he held the diary entry. "Come on Han, is he really worth all this?" Han didn't seem to hear Cam's question. "Let's go. I'm not getting any younger!"

Han tensed and a strange light filled his hazel eyes as he picked up his father's birthday card to him. "I hope this lightsaber, will help light the way." He mumbled aloud, ignoring Cam's confused glance. "That's where I heard it from!"

"Huh?"

Han looked at the diary entry and read aloud again. "So that if one of us ever needs to find the other, their Beacon will light the way." Han was smiling brightly and glanced up at Cam, who stared at him as if he'd just spoke gibberish.

"Sorry, what?"

"Give me my lightsaber!" Han ordered and Cam flinched back from his open hand.

"No way."

"For goodness sake Cam! Give my father's lightsaber back!" Cam took the lightsaber from his belt and looked at it in surprise and disgust.

"This is his-" He threw it towards Han, a little harder than necessary. "Keep it!" He wrinkled his nose. Han's turned over the handle so he was looking straight in the barrel of the saber. With expert hands he pulled out the Kyber crystal, which gave the lightsaber its impenetrable blade, and slotted in the Beacon. Cam watched, though attempted to hide his curiosity.

Han ignited the lightsaber, but instead of a blade shooting out, a hologram decorated the wall in front of them. He gave a triumphant laugh. Cam sat up, finally looking interested. "It's a map."

"A map to the Beacon!" Han struggled to control his excitement. "We have to follow it!" He ran to the cockpit, but Cam got there first and sat in the pilot's seat. But much to his disappointment Han didn't seem to care as he read the map and punched in the coordinates. "You think you can get us here, Cam?"

Cam raised an eyebrow. "Are you kidding me? I'm the best flyer there is, I could give your grandfather a run for his money-"

"Oh, I'm such a good flyer." Han mimicked, his face screwed up mockingly and his voice went a pitch higher. "Just go!"

Cam rolled his eyes, started the engine and followed the ship's coordinates. Han didn't seem to think there was any need for him in the cockpit, so instead he walked back to large holochess board and laid out upon the couch. From his pocket he took out the photo of his dad, diary entry, his birthday card and finally his father's lightsaber.

"Don't worry, Dad. I'm coming."

The ship reached a large cloudy planet and hovered just outside the atmosphere. "Yo, Mini Ren. We're here." Han jumped into the co-pilot seat and the two steered the ship down towards foggy air. They continued flying downwards, yet landed never seem to appear. "I can't see anything through all these clouds and it's blocking the ships sensors. We're blind." Cam grumbled.

"Where's the ground?" Han muttered, equally confused and frustrated.

Cam shrugged, tapping a bored beat on the dashboard. "Hate to break it to you but there's nothing here-"

"Look out!" A large chunk of earth had appeared through the fog, right in front of the Falcon. Cam pulled on the breaks and the ship came to a stop inches from the ground. Both boys grunted as they were thrown forward in their seats and Han was sure he had whiplash. Cam let out a loud breath, his face full of excitement as he glanced at Han.

"That was a close one." Han sighed.

"That... was epic!" Cam replied. "That's why you shouldn't wear seatbelts kids. Cause you miss out on moments like that!"

Han raised an eyebrow, staring at his companion then shaking his head. "You're crazy you know that."

"And you're boring!"

"Just land the ship, okay?"

Once the Falcon had landed on the small touch of earth the two climbed out. The air was oddly fresh and Han smiled at how Cam's golden hair kept getting blown over his eyes.

It was almost impossible to see through the clouds that swarmed the planet, that looked as though it had no beginning or end. Every step they took was taken with caution, neither of them were keen to lear what'd happen if they fell off the edge of land. Even Cam looked slightly nervous.

"Look." Han pointed forward. There was a large shadow in front of them, which if Han squinted his eyes at, he could've sworn it looked almost like a domed house.

Sure enough as they got closer Han studied the tiny, one person sized, metal hut before them. It was circular, like an igloo and an extinguished camp fire had been set up in front of it. The beacon, which Han had pulled out of his father's lightsaber, vibrated as if sensing its other half.

"It's here. The Beacon is here." Han voice was high with excitement. Finally, he'd done it! He was going to see his father!

The door to the home opened and a tall Wookie stared straight at them. He didn't say anything, he just watched them without moving. In his hand he held what appeared of be a bucket of soup. His green eyes shifted from Cam's arrogant face down to Han's.

"Are you Jido Kara?"

The Wookie nodded and spoke back in his own tongue, which Han had learnt in order to communicate with Chewie when he was younger. "I knew you'd come, son of Solo."

"What'd he say?" Cam leaned over to whisper in Han's ear.

Han didn't respond but watched as the Wookie trudged towards his camp fire soundlessly. He began to hit two rocks together and the fire ignited. Han looked around bu there was no one else in sight. "Sit." Jido barked and Han pulled Cam to sit opposite the Jedi.

"Master Kara... I'm Han Solo-"

"Ahem!"

"And this is Cam," he added with next to no enthusiasm and Cam nodded and quick hello. "We're here to-"

"I know why you're here." Jido put his pail of soup on the fire. "You came here is search of your father, am I right?"

"You are right." Han said, ignoring Cam's silent attempts to get Han to tell him what was going on. "So you have the other Beacon?"

"I do."

"And you'll help us?"

"No."

Han went silent and Cam's head continued to flick back and forth between the two, shivering in the cold, constant breeze. "What did he say?"

"No?!" Han's voice echoed in the vast nothingness. "What do you mean 'no'? Do you have any idea what've been through to get here? I had to put up with- HIM!" Cam's eyes narrowed at Han's finger pointing right at him and in frustration he smacked it away, but Han barely noticed. "And now you're telling me you can help, but won't!"

"You shouldn't have come. You should not have left the Jedi Temple."

"But- You don't understand, I need to see him. He wants me to see him!" Han pulled out his father's note. "You must understand- You must miss him too!"

"Of course I miss him!" Jido replied, this time in perfect english which took both of them completely by surprise. "If I didn't I would have thrown this blasted thing away years ago." He pulled out the second beacon and Han had to fight the urge not to grab it and run. "I miss my friend."

"Then you do understand... he's my father I have to-"

"You don't have to do anything young man." The Wookie stood up, towering over the boys. "It is too dangerous for you to be near him."

Cam titled his head up to see Jido's face, once more pushing back his hair. "You don't think he's reformed?"

"I won't torture myself with the thought. I once hoped that my friend would come back, after he destroyed the temples. But... years later he never returned. He didn't come looking for me, though he knew how to find me. But I lost hope in him years ago."

"You may be in denial... but I'm not. Please. Give me the Beacon and I'll prove to you it's not too late to hope again." Cam stared up at Han. "I'm begging you. He's my father, the only one who can really understand me... I just want to see my dad."

Something touched the blonde's heart and he suddenly glanced down at his feet in... was it shame? Empathy? He didn't quite know. But it tugged at his chest tightly and he felt a pit in his stomach. He heard the Wookie sit down again and sigh. "You are not alone, Han. You never have been. That's why she's here."

All three heads turned to the figure appearing from within the fog.

"Master Rey!" Cam jumped to his feet, his eyes wide at her acid expression.

"Mum?"

"Both of you in the Falcon." Neither of them moved and Rey's glare darkned further. "Now!"

Cam glanced at Han as if asking him what to do, but Han stood his ground. "What...? How...? How did you find us?"

"I knew you'd have to retrieve the second beacon from Jido and luckily I knew where he lived. Now get yourselves into the falcon now!" She stormed forward, grabbing Han's arm but he tugged it out of her grasp.

"No Mum! I'm not leaving without it."

Cam looked in shock as Han actually ran at Jido and collided with him.

"Han!" Both he and Rey gasped, running forward to pull the two apart. "Han what are you doing?" Rey demanded. "This isn't like you-"

"You know nothing about me!" Han pushed her away. "Mum let me do this! I need to find him, whether you're going to help me or not!" It scared Cam, the look that had appeared in Han's eyes. The boy raised his hand and rey gasped as she was thrown backwards. Jido ran to her side, pushing past Han.

Cam's clear eyes flicked between them and noticed Han's surprised face. At first he thought it was becuase Hn regretted what he'd done, but then he saw something in the boy's hand. The second beacon! Jido had given him the second beacon!

"Han." Cam mumbled, turning to face the boy as he marched off towards the Falcon. The door opened and Han spoke over his shoulder.

"You wanted to go back. Here's your chance- take my mother with you."

Cam stood still for a second, his heart thumping and eyes sore from te amount hair being blow into them as he gazed at the sleek, black haired boy in front of him.
