Our Eternity – Life and Death Reimagined One shots

A Pick-Up line a day keeps a Vampire at bay (Part 1)

The day was fresh with the scent of wet grass and earthy smells but the day was one of the few warmer ones Forks ever really got. The Lush green landscape, an alien world, breezed past him as he drove down the stretch of road and quickly took the turn left to the Cullen's driveway and the house loomed up ahead, sheltered under large trees and a large grassy lawn with growing buds decorated the front yard.

He hopped out of his truck, pulling his school bag over his shoulder, squinting as sunlight hit him sharply in the eyes, reflecting off his side-view mirror as he reached over the driver's side to the couple of folders, he had received from some of his classes. Closing the door, he hobbled down the path to the front door, his leg still very much recovering from the break from his run-in with a vampire. Even with the cast off and he was relieved it was off, his leg was still tender but at least it gave him a couple of excuses to just sit out and watch gym class. He opened the front door and was greeted with a blast of slightly warmer air much to his relief. As bright and sunny as it was outside, it was still quite cool.

"Hello Beau." Earnest appeared from the staircase, holding a couple of books in his arm and smiled gently. "Must be chilly outside." He winked, his eyes flickering over Beau's attire and Beau chuckled weakly.

"I'm weak against chilly winds." Realizing the folders in his arms he showed them to Earnest. "Edythe and Archie weren't in class so I offered to bring down their homework."

"And you haven't seen Edythe for a couple days."

Beau couldn't help the heat flushing over his cheeks and Earnest chuckled, opening his mouth to speak but was caught off as a mass of yelling then swearing and few whoops of delight, before he gestured towards the living room.

"My children on a school day are playing video games and it appears to be a tense one." Earnest raised a brow at him before smirking, shaking his head in despair. "Goodluck son."

Beau watched Earnest climb up the stairs before limping down to the living room where Edythe, Royal, Jessamine and Eleanor sat in the living room. Eleanor, Jess and Royal had a controller in their hands and their fingers moving at blurring speeds as they shifted around, focusing on the large TV screen where they were playing Mario Kart. It appeared Jess was in massive lead, due to her calm smirk and Eleanor's phenomenal scowl said she far behind and was moving and tilting her body in time with the crashes her kart was making.

"Bloody-effing-God-friggin-fracking-dammit-" The jumbled words spewing from El's mouth made it difficult for Beau to burst into laughter.

"Suck it, El! I beat you today and I beat you yesterday, and the day before that and so forth! I told you. You're too irritable. Calm your butt and you may get, well, 5th place next time." Jessamine's smirk was dangerous especially when Eleanor slowly glanced at her with the look of death in her eyes. Jess didn't seem to care, throwing her honey blonder hair back.

Edythe was sitting cross-legged on the kitchen counter, book in her hand but her eyes met his and the look in her eyes made him so close to losing it.

"I gotta say," Archie suddenly breezed into the living room and standing beside Beau, but staring at Jess with a wicked smirk on his face. "The sheer cockiness in which my wife speaks, the utter confidence and smack down, is a real major turn on." Jess without stopping her karts driving, slowly glanced at Archie over her shoulder and threw him a saucy wink before turning back to the screen, while Archie grasped at his chest and swooned.

"So adorable," Edythe snickered, unfolding her legs, swinging them back and forth and closing her book.

"I can understand you can hear it daily and nightly obviously, but I don't get how you can deal with listening to it." Edythe shuddered, shaking her head.

"I don't. I just do. I'm not as innocent as I once was." There were a few chuckles around the room and Beau limped up to Edythe and she greeted him by hopping off the kitchen counter and wrapping her arms around his neck and smiling up at him. "Hey you." Beau faltered at her lovely smile, his heart stuttering.

"Take it easy kid. Deep breaths." Royal spoke up from the couch while Eleanor snickered loudly. Beau glowered at the back of Royal's head before turning to Edythe and kissing her forehead.

"I brought you and Archie some work since you weren't in classes. Been enjoying the days off?"

"Yes!" Everyone chorused in unison. Beau rolled his eyes but before he could say anything, the front door opened and Carine glided into the room.

"Hello children. Hope you haven't been making too much of a mess today?"

"No." Everyone muttered in unison and Earnest flitted into the room, wearing some plastic yellow gloves, a large bucket of paint and his eyes fell on Carine and loving smile stretched over his face at the sight of his wife.

"Now, Carine I know I'm the interior designer but are you sure it's not your calling? Because you light up every room your in." Carine raised her hands to her mouth, laughing in an almost demure manner that had Eleanor looking away uncomfortably. Earnest approached his wife, taking her hand in his and kissing the back of it, cheekily, while everyone groaned in despair.

"Why? Just why?" Eleanor muttered, chucking her controller down. "Go get a room you two!"

"They've gone hunting, El." Edythe muttered against Beau's chest.

"Right, sure. Hunting is what we call it now." Eleanor shuddered. Edythe groaned and looked around Beau's chest to glare at her sister.

"At least you don't have to hear and see it." Beau tightened his arms sympathetically around his girlfriend while Eleanor just huffed off and Archie did his very best to hide his smirk in which Edythe noticed and glared at him.

Beau couldn't help but stare down at his girlfriend as she pulled away from him and walked into the kitchen to make him lunch.

"Beau, you keep that up you may start drooling." Eleanor snickered from his side suddenly, while Beau glared at her then glanced at Edythe, smiling lightly.

"Sorry, lost in thought." Edythe glanced over her shoulder at him, almost looking shy in which Beau could not help his smile grow wider. "She's so beautiful, I forgot my pick-up line."

Edythe looked at a lost for words which was something in itself, gold eyes widening in shock, while Eleanor guffawed and Archie wolf-whistled in appreciation.

"Attaboy." Archie patted Beau's back and he and El left Beau and Edythe in the kitchen, both smiling bashfully at one. "Sickeningly sweet this is." Archie grumbled. "I need to eat."
