The auspicious fart
Jackson wakes up to the smell of fart early in the morning.
Feeling himself getting crushed, he wonders why he is in this position and why he decided to sleep next to a fart bomb.
Not used to waking up next to someone in his bed anymore, he promptly opens his eyes to try and get away as fast as he can before that someone wakes up.
When he opens his eyes, he sees red hair, smells April's shampoo, and notices a very tiny body on top of him, making him realize that April and the kids are the ones crushing him, and for a moment, he relaxes-
But then the fart bothers him, not willing to believe any of the kids are capable of doing it. He whisper shouts at April. "April, did you just fart?"
April doesn't hear him and not willing to be the only one losing oxygen. He pokes her. "April, April, wake up."
"mhm," April mumbles in her sleep and smiles while she holds her babies. Jackson watches the peaceful sleep on her face and finds himself not wanting to wake her anymore.
The feeling is abruptly interrupted by Harriet farting against his stomach, Followed by the same smell, only stronger.
He decides to wake everyone up if he has to, not able to withstand the smell anymore. He vows to buy something that will clean her stomach.
He is saved from waking anyone when April wakes up with her face scrunched up, and Ruby follows, looking like she swallowed something hot.
"Jackson, man, go to the bathroom," April says, getting up.
Not believing she thinks it's him. Jackson answers, "you know what my fart smells like. You are the one whose fart smells this bad."
"No, it's Harry fart," Ruby says, scrunching her face and they all look at a peacefully sleeping Harriet who was left unscathed by the events of her smelly fart.
"See," Ruby says, but since Harriet is still safely tucked into Jackson's arms. April suspiciously looks back at him when the sound comes again, and only he and Ruby are convinced it came from Harriet and not him.
Jackson looks at the roof, avoiding all eye contact and laughing at his predicament. He realizes that no defense will convince her that it was Harriet and not him who farted.
