Thank you for waiting to read this chapter, and thank you to those I collaborated with to write this.
A preview of the persecutors opening statement of the case of Magdalene Taylor 'Matthews mother' vs. Jackson Avery at the court of law about over a month after previous chapter.
I object
"Last minute Jackson Avery stopped April Kepners' wedding to Matthew Taylor. After he previously publicly rejected her for indecisiveness."
Jackson looks up at the ceiling, knowing he will never live that down.
"Does that not show the nature of hypocrisy? Narcissism, perhaps?
His own mother helped to cover up the rape of innocent women for years and, instead of being appalled by this, he gave her the company she helped to build by the tears of other women."
Jackson would normally want to defend his mother at this point but has no defense this time.
"He divorced his wife in a fit of rage over her taking much needed time away from him. Think of what kind of marriage they had that his wife needed to take a year away from him. She kept on extending her stay in Jordan, and not long after she came back, she left again."
"What is this?" April, whisper shouts behind him.
"He ignored her when she needed his help after their divorce. He only started showing interest in her again after she was back together with Matthew, and she was moving on, free from him!"
"Not long after she was happily married, he had his own crisis that only she could supposedly help with, and he came running to her."
"For years, he watched the woman he considers to be his with another man and watched him raise his child. Surely that did not sit well with him. He had motive as well as the means presented to him by his ex-wife."
"Whom he tends to be possessive over as upon some digging we found out, he beat up the man she almost had sex with, a Dr. Alex Karev, we believe. He did this before she ever showed any interest in him."
"He on the other hand used to show signs of interest in her while simultaneously joining in on people who were bullying her at work."
"What?" Jackson whispers, wondering how he came to this point.
"Dr. Avery had her living with him after giving birth to their child and had nowhere to go. During that time, he was hardly speaking to her for doing something as simple as her job, just because he and other doctors were involved in a petty feud about who is in charge of their teaching department. She went against him, and he punished her for it! Just like he punished her for going to Jordan when he told her not to!"
Jackson rubs his head, a little confused about what is a lie and what is the truth.
"And then he punished an intern for no good reason! The only wrong the man did was to have consensual sex with what Dr. Avery considers to be his. He also has a very strained relationship with his colleague Dr. Tom Koracick because once again, he dared to touch what's his.
"If Dr. Avery reacts like this to one night stands and almost one night stands. What do you suppose he will do with the man who did manage to take what he had put on time out?"
"She's not a what she has a name!" Jackson says, not able to help it.
The attorney keeps quiet and turns back to him, "oh?"
"We had children together, a life, of course, I..."
"Left her."
"She...
"I..." Jackson cannot answer him as he knows he is right about that. He did leave her...
After she left for Jordan he-
"Dr. Avery, this is my court. Please stop talking." The judge says.
The prosecutor turns back to face the jury. "Isn't it telling that he is the only one who gained in this scenario? He got his family back."
"Matthew is gone, and he gets to play the man who did everything he could to save him, a hero in her eyes."
"The ultimate grand gesture that comes from months of selflessly taking care of her husband."
"He insisted on carrying for him himself, day and night, didn't you Dr. Avery." He turns to look at Jackson again.
"I object, your honor, this is all conspiracy theories based on no actual evidence," April shouts, standing up.
"Did you not hear me reprimand Dr. Avery just now? If you don't keep quiet, I will have you jailed for Contempt of Court, Dr. Kepner."
The judge says and looks back at the attorneys. "Now, do you have any actual proof on your allegations?" He says\ to Magdalene Taylors' lawyer.
"Yes, this is my attempt to paint a picture of what type of person the accused is. I have countless witnesses that can attest to a lot of this, and it will help when I present my proof as well-"
"This is ridiculous. What proof?" April shouts again.
"That's it, you are getting a night in jail for Contempt of Court, and you are not allowed to come back to my courtroom!"
