Here is another chapter.
DISCLAIMER:
Nope, still don't own PJO. :(
I squinted. Annabeth? She waved.
"Hi! Percy's told me about you!" She shouted from across the parking lot. Oh, okay, not Annabeth then. She would know who I was in an instant. And… Annabeth would never shout.
"Hi!" I said back to her. "You look a lot like my girlfriend!"
"Oh yeah?" She asked me. "What's her name?" I could brag about Annabeth forever. I could also brag about myself forever, but that's not the point.
"Anna-" I started to call out, but Percy's girlfriend stopped me.
"Oh, Anna?" She called back. "Cool name. See you later!" The two jumped on a van labeled Delphi Strawberries. What? She didn't want to hear me talk about my girlfriend? But everyone wants to hear me talk about my girlfriend! I mean, she didn't even stay long enough to hear her name! Whatever. Stupid people like that aren't worth it. My mom pulled up, and I hopped in the car, thinking about Annabeth.
"Hey Max," My mom said when I got into the car. "Are you prepared for State tomorrow? How was your day?" I answered her questions,
"Hi Mom. Oh, yeah. Percy is totally getting his butt whipped tomorrow. My day was good. For some reason Coach made us dance instead of doing normal practice." I knew she would sympathize with me, because seriously, what use is dancing instead of swimming?
"Oh, yeah!" She said. "I'm ready for you to be the new captain! And dancing? Good conditioning for tomorrow. Your coach really knows what he's doing." What? No! This wasn't supposed to happen! The rest of the way home I sulked in my seat. Why does no one understand me? I quickly changed the subject with a remark about her home cooking, which always seemed to get her.
"So, are you going to make cookies tonight?" I asked her.
"Oh, yeah!" She replied. "It was Sally's cookie day at the office, so I brought home some cookies she made." My mom was an editor, and Sally was her newest client. I had never met Sally, but the way Mom talked about her it was like she was a goddess.
"Nice, but I bet they aren't half as good as yours." Of course, this was definitely going to be true. Instead of eating Sally's cookies that night I just had some ice cream.
"You should really try one," My mom said, "They're good." I said a quick no and headed to my room so I could check on my stocks. Yes, I had invested in stocks. So what? It soon became late, so I headed off to bed. The dream I had that night almost killed me, and I swear to the gods I'm not exaggerating.
It started out like any normal dream. I was in the supermarket, buying groceries and swim goggles. (Yes, all my dreams are like this.) But, then, instead of me leaving and forgetting to pay, like normal, a woman came up to me.
"Hey, hon," She said. "I think you forgot something." She dropped a bottle of blue food coloring in my cart. "I think you know what it's for." She winked at me. Strange lady in the supermarket? No thanks. I did the only logical thing. When she turned around to leave, I took the blue food coloring, opened it, and squirted the whole thing in her open purse. Why her purse was open, I had no idea. She turned around and winked at me one last time, and left the supermarket. My dream quickly went back to normal after that. I grabbed my tomatoes, and went to pay, but I forgot.
"Hey! You! Kid!" One of the workers cried. "Did you pay for that?" I quickly paid for it and left, like normal. But… not like normal. The lady was outside the door, waiting. I prayed that she wouldn't see me, but she did. She shape-shifted into something really creepy, and I gotta admit, I was scared.
"WHY DIDN'T YOU EAT THE COOKIES!?" She yelled. "I EVEN GAVE YOU BLUE COLORING TO DYE THEM!" I was really confused.
"Why are you mad at me for not eating cookies?" I asked the weird demonic creature that the lady in the supermarket turned into.
"Because, Sally's cookies are the ultimate best," The beast said. At least she had gotten quieter! Geez. "They make your mother's cookies taste like grass." Ouch. That hurt. No one wanted their cookies to 'taste like grass'. It was the ultimate insult.
"Well, I'm sorry." I told her, trying not to make her mad, "I didn't know. Now can you calm down?" She responded by waking me up. I had actually forgotten I was in a dream until then. I checked my clock. Six thirty. I sighed and went to the kitchen for some breakfast.
I hope it was worth it, poseidonsdaughter1982. I have nothing to say, except that my cat got into a hissing fight with the cat next door last night on our fence. Oh, and yeah, I changed the rating to Teen because I'm really scared this will get deleted. It's still the same, though.
Reviews:
Tbrucks: I checked settings, but I couldn't find a button that said 'Notifications are off.' I didn't check the mobile version, though. Thanks for the suggestion! Also thanks for your kind support.
AlEmily360: I know, right? Max is supposed to be a clueless, stupid mortal. But, he is more stupid then most. Like, he says he's 'second smartest in the school,' but Annabeth never even said she liked him.
posiedonsdaughter1982: That's happening next time! On... Impossible and Improbable! :) (I have nothing to say because I already responded to your review)
JoeBob: I didn't explain the ballet stuff very well, because you kind've have to see it to know. Annabeth would never cheat on Max, because they aren't even together, you're right. I think I made the right decision keeping him mortal, because you're right, he would be TERRIBLE at camp.
GreenEyes-BlueCoke: Thanks a lot!
Guest: Haha. Here's your update, and the next one is coming soon! Thanks.
potatoqueensnow: I actually made him have a demigod dream as a mortal xD. I have a BIG plan for Alex after next chapter. Hope it lives up to your standards! PERCABETH WILL LIVE! (Sorry, just had to do that.)
loysybeatrice: Soon... very soon...
Guest: Max has a big head. He is, I admit, kind've oblivious.
Booklover: Happy Holidays back to you! I don't have ANY online school, all I have is my mom making me do math xD. Max will find out that Annabeth is NOT dating him next chapter. It's fine, I try to keep my update schedule every other day, but sometimes I um... forget. I have no idea if everyone else will be in this fic, would that make it to cliche? I kind of want to add them now...
Gemflower8765: I was so proud of memorizing the numbers in your name before I realized it was just 8 going down... anyways, you're welcome! :) I explained earlier why Annabeth didn't react to Max, and of course she told Percy, it was just that Percy is a kind, forgiving, soul... and he didn't know Max was the same person.
faegrace: I put a whoole response in a review to your (awesome) story, but I DON'T HATE YOU! I'm really, really, sorry if I made it seem that way... but I don't. Please forgive me.
DaughterofAthena: Please don't swear in your reviews. I love this review, really, but please don't swear. Anyways, I love how you did Max and his mom, and then you responded to them. Also, Max should be the victim of Backbiter...
Phoenix3174: lol.
Bdarwin85: It's because Annabeth told him not to call, and he (coincidentally) forgot the address of Gershwin-Mellendorf. Thanks for the criticism. It made me think for a second.
All those REVIEWS! I'm really sorry if I forgot someone, my email clumped these reviews with the ones from last chapter. Sorry that this chapter is really late, I was on some forums instead of writing this. I am so happy about all the reviews we're getting, and I also just started a new thing. It's a photo challenge, inspired by the one on faegrace's profile. (That's the accidental thing I posted.) Thank you so much for staying with me through all of this...
Bye people,
