Clay, Jack, and the Rainbooms followed sunset to her locker. "So, you have a way to contact this princess Twilight." Jack said skeptically. "I do, but I don't know if it still works." Sunset said. It's a chance we have to take Ms. Shimmer." Clay said as sunset dusted the book off. The Rainbooms gave Clay and Sunset weird looks. "Don't ask." Jack told them. "Anyone have a pen?" sunset asked before a pen entered her line of sight. "thanks." She said writing into the book.
After School
The Rainbooms, sunset, jack, and clay found themselves at the Canterlot High statue. "Anything." Rainbow asked. "Nothing." Sunset replied pacing back and forth. "Jeez Sunset quit pacing will you? I already know one pacer I don't need another" Jack said giving clay a side glance whom glared. "Sorry. It's just…" sunset began. "You're worried that she won't come." Clay said, a somber expression on his face. Sunset averted her gaze and nodded. Suddenly she felt two arms wrap around her. Looking up she saw Clay rest his head on hers. "With or without her, we'll find a way to stop the Dazzlings, sunset." He said. Everyone's eyes widen at what clay said. Instead of calling sunset Ms. Shimmer, he called her sunset and at the way he said it. Jack chuckled silently. He knew that tone all too well.
Suddenly there was a flash in front of the statue. Jack walked closer and was suddenly knocked to the ground by a light purple skinned girl. "Clay, did you get the number of that taxi?" Jack asked as Clay let go of sunset and crouched down next to the girl. "Excuse me miss." Clay said nudging her slightly. She slowly came to. "Huh?" She asked "Twilight?" the girl turned to face. "Yes?" Clay chuckled. "my friend would like you to get off of him now." He said pointing to Jack whom was groaning. "Sweet Celestia. I'm sorry." Twilight said as a purple dog padded up to her. "He's been through worse trust me."
"Twilight!" The Rainbooms said as Clay and sunset helped jack up. "It's good to see you all, but I've got some bad news about those girls." The Rainbooms' faces became downcast at this revelation. Clay decided to break the ice. "Is there a place you girls can catch up and come up with a plan?" He asked. Pinkie responded immediately. "Sugar cube Corner. Come on."
A short time later
"I hate the fact that you had to visit at this time, but I'm glad you're here." Rarity said. "its okay. I'm glad to see you all again and with some new faces." Twilight said before looking at clay and jack. "their names are clay and jack. Clay's the one with the brown coat and strange looking watch. He patrols through dimensions and arrests bad people. Jacks the one with the dark blue coat he used to travel through time and arrest bad people, but now works for a super-secret organization deals with aliens and monsters." Pinkie said before smiling which was followed by an audible squeak. Twilight looked at pinkie shocked before laughing. "Good one pinkie." Twilight received no response. She noticed that all of the Rainbooms had a serious demeanor (even Pinkie). "It's the truth." Clay said. Jack raised an eyebrow and looked at pinkie. "How did you know that Torchwood deals with those things?" Jack asked her. "Just a hunch." Came the reply. Jack felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned to see that the hand belonged to clay. "it's best that you don't question her." He said
"Shall we get to business before the store closes." Clay said. "Yes, the three girls you spoke of, the Dazzlings, are sirens." Twilight said before Jack spoke up. "Makes sense with the singing, but the kind of siren I know wouldn't cause a ruckus." Jack said referring to the lunch incident. "These three girls feed off the disharmony that they create with their singing." Twilight said. "Same song, different tune." Jack muttered loud enough to be heard. Twilight raised an eyebrow.
"Okay… anything else happen while I was gone. Other than the sirens and these two." She asked. Rainbow pulled out her phone and showed twilight a video of herself ponying up as she called it. "Pretty cool huh." Rainbow said putting her feet on the table. "It appears that when I took my crown back to Equestria some magic stayed behind." Twilight said. "Residue." Clay said out of the blue making everyone (save for Jack who rolled his eyes) look at him weirdly. "the leftover magic became residue which implanted itself into the Rainbooms and whenever you play your instruments it activates." Clay said. Jack facepalmed before translating the scientific talk "What clay's trying to say is that the magic left over from whatever it was used for, became a part of you five and whenever you play your instruments the magic comes out causing the transformation." The Rainbooms, Sunset, and Twilight nodded at the simplified explanation.
"Enough of this science and gloom business. Any new gossip from your world?" rarity said. "For starters, she has her own title." The dog said before making a trumpet sound. "The Princess of Friendship." Jack looked at the dog with a raised eyebrow. "What? Never seen a dog talk before? I'm spike by the way." Jack chuckled. "Don't worry, I've seen weirder. Name's Jack Harkness." Spike nodded. "That's his full name." Clay whispered to twilight who nodded "A princess!?" the Rainbooms said at the same time. "Wow, you really are princess Celestia's prize student." Sunset said excited but then gained a half somber and half depressed look on her face. She felt a hand on her shoulder. Looking up she saw Clay with a comforting smile which she immediately returned. There was some giggling heard sunset looked her friends confused. "What?" she asked. AJ snorted before replying "Nothin'." Jack chuckled. "Don't start Jack." Clay said. "I won't." Jack said. Clay gave him a look knowing full well Jack wouldn't let this go. "Anything else Spike?" he asked. "She's even got her own Castle." Rarity immediately responded while unintendedly spilling Twilight's shake. "Um Rarity… you spilled some milkshake onto twilight's shirt." Jack said. "Oh, I'm sorry twilight, but congrats on the castle." Rarity said using a napkin.
After throwing some ideas around on how to defeat the Dazzlings, the Rainbooms decided to call it a day. "Admit it clay. You like sunset." Jack whispered to clay as they slightly lagged behind Sunset out of hearing range. Clay sighed before responding "Jack, if I truly did like her the least I can do is walk away." Jack's smile fell knowing full well what he meant. Kyra's death was a heavy blow to Clay. "Sometimes, I still hear her voice crying out my name before the sound of metal piercing flesh is heard." He continued. Jack sighed. "She would want you to move on." He said. Clay looked at Sunset but in her place was an anthro lioness wearing a tank top and shorts. 'How can I move on when I still think of her.' Clay thought as Kyra's form changed back to Sunset's.
A/N: there's chapter three. Now Kyra will appear at certain points in the story as either a hallucination or in flashbacks. Next up will be a short time skip to the Rainbooms discussing a new plan after their original plan to defeat the sirens failed. A little teaser, there will be an epilogue after twilight's departure.
