Sunset took a deep breathe. She was scared, but her friends were counting on her. She heard clay begin to say something to vinyl when he stopped mid-sentence. She turned to see that he, jack and the others were frozen. "So, you're the one who caught my friend's heart." A voice said making sunset jump. Turning she saw what appeared to be a 7 foot tall figure standing before her. 'Sweet Celestia, she's as tall as the princess, horn included.' She thought.
The figure chuckled as its form became clearer revealing it to be an anthro lioness. "Kyra." Sunset muttered in shock. Said person smiled warmly. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you Sunset Shimmer." Sunset could tell that the friendly greeting hid some disappointment. "I've been watching your interactions with clay and to be frank," Kyra said making sunset sweat bullets thinking Kyra wasn't happy with her confessing to clay. "I haven't seen clay this cheerful since before I died." Sunset looked at her as a ghost like vapor surrounded the Amazonian feline. "So, you're a spirit?" Kyra gave sunset a cocky smirk. Sunset recognized the expression. "If you're going to make a snarky comment, don't. clay warned me about them." She said giving the lioness a similar look. Kyra huffed in defeat. "Technically speaking, yes. However, I am a special kind of spirit." Kyra said with a soft smile. "What kind?" sunset asked. "A spirit guide. It means I can help you when you're troubled." Kyra said kneeling to sunset's height.
"Listen Kyra, I don't think I can do this. I'll screw up.". Sunset said dropping the mic and covered her face with her hands and began to cry. Kyra looked down saddened at sunset's situation. She smiled looking at sunset. "You won't know unless you try." Kyra said. "What do you mean?" sunset asked. "It means that you don't know if you'll screw up unless you do it." Kyra said handing her the mic. Sunset's doubt left her completely. She may have made a brave face in front of her friends, but with that bit of wisdom she no longer felt the fear of messing up. "Remember this sunset, your friends are your strength." Kyra said before fading away.
"Hey, DJ turn it up!" Clay yelled to Vinyl who gave a thumbs up. Sunset glanced at clay out of the corner of her eye. "I won't fail you Kyra not now not ever." She thought looking at the Dazzlings.
(welcome to the Show: sunset's part begins)
[You're never gonna bring me down]
[You're never gonna break this part of me]
[my friends are here to bring me 'round]
Sunset help twilight up while clay helped AJ and Jack helped Rarity.
[not singing just for popularity]
Twilight and the rest of the rainbooms joined in
[We're here to let you]
[that we won't let it go]
[our music is a bomb and it's about to blow]
[and you can try to fight]
[but we have got the light of]
[friendship on our side]
The forms of the sirens charged at the group of eight before a rainbow colored shockwave destroyed them and broke the siren's spell on the audience
[got the music in our hearts]
[we're here to blow this thing apart]
[and together, we will never]
[be afraid of the dark]
Clay and jack stood in shock as sunset began to glow. Her hair grew and she gained pony ears. Jack noticed clay's jaw open slightly. Chuckling, he playfully nudged clay with his elbow while grinning and raising his eyebrows a couple times. Clay punched him in the shoulder, blushing up a storm.
[here to sing our song out loud]
[get you dancing with the crowd]
[as the music of our friendship]
[survives, survives]
The magic in the 7 girls shot into the sky forming a rainbow colored sphere flanked by two celestial wings.
[got the music in our hearts]
[we're here to blow this thing apart]
[and together, we will never]
[be afraid of the dark]
The clouds suddenly parted revealing a celestial shaped alicorn with a rainbow mane
[here to sing our song out loud]
[get you dancing with the crowd]
[as the music of our friendship]
[survives, survives, survives]
[Guitar solo]
"Finish this rainbooms!" clay and jack yelled at the same time as the celestial alicorn blasted the sirens with magic shattering the gems around their necks.
(welcome to the show sunset's part ends)
Sunset smiled as she, princess Twilight, and the rainbooms lost their ponied up forms. She looked to her right and saw clay and jack clapping. "Well done girls. Well done." Jack said. She then noticed Kyra with her hand on clay's shoulder. She glanced to clay and mouthed to sunset saying go for it. Blushing she walked towards clay, whom was holding her jacket out.
"Thanks for holding onto it" she said shyly after clay helped her put it on. They heard giggling. "Whatever girls" sunset said. "you going to kiss him sunset?" rainbow asked her. Sunset contemplated it, but decided to make her crush promise something. "Clay, before you leave can you promise me something?" she asked. He nodded. "Promise me to come back." Clay's eyes widened seeing a transparent version of Kyra in sunset's place. "I'll try, but I can't guarantee I'll be able to since I don't have the exact coordinates of this dimension. Jack narrowed his eyes. Clay was hiding something.
Before Jack could say anything sunset kissed clay on the cheek. "I'll hold you to it." She said as booing was heard. "that'd be our cue to leave." Clay said as pinkie latched onto him. "Don't leave." She said giving him puppy dog eyes as her hair went straight. "Sorry pinkie, but both jack and I are needed at torchwood." He said walking away with jack. "Pinkie, what was that about?" Twilight asked. "He's not going to keep his promise to sunset since he had to split the power core of his jump watch to power the spare one. Which means that it's a one way trip for both of them." Sunset went rigid praying that what pinkie said wasn't true
A few hours later
"You're not gonna to keep that promise are you?" jack asked. Clay sighed. "I had to split my jump watch's power core. Which means both watches have enough power for a one way jump. "Damn it clay you made Kyra promise to settle down after the one she died on and you haven't kept it and now you made a promise that you literally can't keep." As clay began to retort, he heard crying. Turning towards the alley he saw one of the sirens. "Sonata Dusk?" he pondered out loud. The girls flinched at his voice "go away. Please don't hurt me." sonata said in a shaky voice. "Where are your friends?" Jack said on the defensive. "They ditched me saying I was the reason we failed." Clay growled under his breath. How could the other two sirens abandon this one? "Some Friends." Jack said scoffing. Clay could tell sonata was miserable. Jack's words echo in his head. "Would you like a second chance?" he asked.
Jack looked at clay. "He's not considering staying here is he?" he thought as clay took off his jump watch. "Why are you being nice to me?" sonata said. "a friend of mine helped him when he needed help." Clay said gesturing to jack. "And now I'm going to help you." He held out his jump watch. "Sonata nodded. Smiling, clay strapped his jump watch to sonata's wrist. As he helped her up jack wondered what clay was planning. "Look after her jack." Clay said pressing a few buttons as the green one lit up. "Clay?" jack asked. "you were right jack. I haven't been keeping my promises and this time I'm keeping mine to not only Kyra, but sunset as well." Jack smiled. "About time." He said. Sonata hugged clay. "thank you. I'll make you proud." She said.
Well captain, it's been an honor." Clay said saluting. "The honor was all mine agent." Jack said chuckling. "ready sonata?" the former siren nodded. Jack looked at clay "Kyra would be proud." He said before he and Sonata disappeared in a flash of light. 'that she would jack.' Clay said before making his way to sugar cube corner as it began to rain.
"You're telling me pinkie was telling the truth." Sunset said tearing up. She, twilight, and the rainbooms were in sugar cube corner. "I'm sorry sugar cube, but I know a lie when I hear one." Applejack said. Everyone was upset to learn that clay wasn't coming back. They were so engrossed in they discussion that they didn't hear the door open nor hear the person voice asking where they were. "Excuse me but is this seat taken?" Sunset slid to the right letting the person sit next to her as the rainbooms expressions turned to shock. "So, pinkie, which milkshake did you say was the best?" Sunset's eyes widened at the voice. Turning she saw clay next to her looking at the menu. "Miss me?" he said looking at her.
A/N: that's number 7. Next is the epilogue this has to be my longest chapter to date. Wow, already the epilogue. Don't worry. Just because this story is ending doesn't mean that sunset and the dimension agent's adventure is done. In fact it's far from over.
