When Alice and Robin woke up the next morning, they headed to the wicked witch's house aka Zelena Mills' farmhouse.
Robin's home in Storybrooke, which wasn't that far away from where we were.
As they went inside, Robin didn't see her mother.
"Mom!" Robin called out looking around as they walked into the dining room/kitchen area, "She's not here." She commented to herself before putting her bow and arrow down on the wooden table and turned to Alice, "Guess it's just you and me."
"Yeah," Alice replied, then the both of us stood there awkwardly. Neither of them knowing what to do next. "So I never thanked you for last night." Alice finally said for a few seconds, getting Robin attention again, "For not shooting me with your-" Alice paused unsure what to call Robin's weapon.
"It's called a bow and arrow." Robin finished, then giggled making Alice grin at her, "And you're welcome." Robin added. There was another second of brief silence before Robin asked turning to Alice again, "How did you end up in the middle of the woods anyway?" Alice's grin faded, her head dropped a little.
"I- I was running away from someone." She admitted, flickering her eyes up at Robin, "So I won't hurt them." Robin looked at her with concern as she questioned who, "My father," Alice answered, then explained how his heart was cursed and how it was her mother who did it, "I don't know. I guess I came here to start over." Alice shrugged.
"Well, you're welcome to stay here with me and my mom." Robin offered, knowing Alice didn't really have a place to stay. Alice flickered her eyes up to Robin as she added, "For as long as you want." Alice grinned at Robin's offer.
"Thank you, Robin," Alice replied. They both stood leaning on the kitchen table staring at each other for a moment, unsure what to do now.
"Why don't we go into town?" Robin suggested after a couple minutes of weird, awkward silence. Alice's eyes flickered back up to Robin as Robin continued by saying, "I can introduce you to some of the people in Storybrooke." Alice hesitated for a moment, thinking of running into Emma again after what happened last night, but being with Robin made Alice feel somehow safe.
"O-Okay." Alice replied, smiling shyly. Robin gave her a friendly smile, then jumped off the table. Alice did the same, then the two girls headed out of the house.
Alice and Robin stepped out of Zelena's car as they parked next to Granny's. Alice grinned at the sight of the dinner, remembering how good the food was last night as the two of them walked toward the front door.
"First stop. Granny's." Robin said as she opened the door, looking at Alice, "Probably the best place for food in this town." Alice giggled at Robin's comment as they step through the door, closing it behind them, the bell above ringing. Instead of the old woman Alice saw last night behind the counter, she saw a young girl dressed in a red outfit that was a little revealing.
"Ruby." Robin called out to the young girl leaning on the counter behind it. She looked up at Robin and Alice as Robin said introducing her new found friend "This is Alice. She's new in town."
"Hi." Alice said with a friendly smile, but Ruby just looked at her, then went back to reading her magazine. Alice's smile quickly faded as Robin turned her head to her and said whispering.
"Ruby's not the most friendliest person in town." Alice nodded understanding, then followed Robin to a table booth near the end of the cafe where the halls was leading to the inn.
"So far, this town seems to hate me." Alice commented a few minutes after her and Robin sit down. Robin looked up from her menu and said assuring Alice the town did not hate her.
"Give Storybrooke a chance. You haven't even met half the people yet." Alice grinned at Robin just before Granny came approached their table to take their order. Immediately she realized Alice.
"Alice, you're back so soon." Granny commented, then looked at Robin as she said, "With a new friend."
"Um, yeah." She replied nervously smiling at Granny, "Robin's just showing me around town." She added as Granny took their orders. As soon as she left, Robin looked at Alice asking.
"You've been to Granny's before?" Alice nodded, "With who?" Robin asked.
"The sheriff." Alice answered, then glanced down sighing, "She-" Alice began looking up at Robin, but froze when she saw the sheriff herself come through the doors. Alice immediately decked down under the table.
"What are you-" Robin began, but was cut off when Alice pulled her under the table with her. Robin glanced at Alice confused, "Why are we hiding?" Robin whispered to Alice. She didn't answer Robin as she carefully watched. Robin followed Alice's stare and saw Emma at the counter, talking with Granny, "Alice, what's going on?" She asked in a hushed tone, but Alice didn't answer.
"Nothing." Alice answered, "It's just-" She began, but didn't know how to explain that the situation, "It's complicated alright."
"Explain it to me then?" Robin demanded quietly.
"I-I can't." Alice stuttered, shrugging her shoulders as she looked at Robin, "You won't understood." Robin sighed under her breathe, then crawled out off underneath the table, "What are you doing?" Alice quickly asked as Robin stood up.
"Emma." Robin called out walking over to the sheriff. Emma turned around and smiled, "What are you doing here?" She asked approaching Emma, blocking her view of Alice.
"You know I came here every morning for coffee." Emma explained, "I'm surprised to see you without your mom or Regina." She added.
"I thought I would meet my friends for breakfast." Robin lied. Emma nodded and turned to leave, but stopped herself.
"Hey were you in the woods last night?" Emma asked turning back to Robin, "Cause there was a girl named Alice that I pick up on my patrol who ran into the woods. She sort of freaked out when she saw Killian." Emma explained, "I don't know if she knew him in the enchanted forest or what, but if you see a girl with wavy blonde hair, let me know?" She asked. Robin nodded to her, then watched Emma left Granny's. Once she was gone, Robin turned around looking over at her and Alice's table and stormed over.
"You're welcome." Robin said bending down, looking underneath where Alice was. Alice stared at Robin, then sighed smiling in reveal. She pulled herself back up onto the seat as Robin slide back into hers.
"You didn't have to do that." Alice stated, "Why did you?" She asked, "You barely know me."
Robin shrugged at Alice. "New town. New people. You need someone to trust." She answered and Alice smiled. "So Captain Hook's your father?" She asked.
Alice nodded. "His heart, it's cursed." she explained. " If we get too close to each other, the poison in his heart will kill him."
"Who poisoned him?"
"Mother Gothel- well my mother." Alice answered. Robin stared at Alice very confused. She had never met anyone in Storybrooke with that name. But Alice's father was in Storybrooke?
"Where did you say your from?" Robin questioned. Her eyes flickered up at Robin. "What realm?"
"The New Enchanted Forest." She answered. "I wonder what happened to the original enchanted forest." Alice added, making Robin laugh.
"Don't worry. The Enchanted Forest where my aunt is from still exists." She replied. "I don't know you saw your father last night." Robin said changing the subject back to what they were talking about before.
Alice's eyes narrowed. "I think I know what my father looks like."
"No, I mean- the person you saw last night was a different version of him." Robin explained. "The Captain Hook who lives here in Storybrooke is from the same realm as my aunt. They have the same name, but they're different people." She finished. Alice stared at her for a long minute.
"And you know this how?" Alice questioned. Robin opened her mouth, but wasn't sure how to answer. She had never been to another realm. She only ever lived in Storybrooke.
"Well, that's the only thing that makes sense, right?" Robin finally said. Alice huffed shaking her head at Robin. "Look there's a way to find out." Alice knew what Robin was suggesting.
She shook her head repeatedly. "No. I'm not going near him. I don't want to hurt him." Alice stood from her seat. "This was a huge mistake." Alice rushed out of the diner. Robin quickly followed her behind.
"Alice, wait!" Robin shouted, grabbing onto her shoulder. She spun her around to face her. "What are you gonna do? Go back to your realm and become Tower Girl again?" Robin questioned. Alice roughly crossed her arms in front of her chest. Robin sighed. "Look I'm not suggesting you ran into his arms. But you can keep a safe distance. If he doesn't recognize you, then my theory's right." Her eyes flickered up to Robin, then shrugged as she asked.
"Wh- why do you wanna help me?"
"Because I know how it feels to grow up without a father." Robin said. Alice stared at her, dropping her arms to her sides. "Any version of your dad is better than not having one at all." There was a long period of silence. Alice was too wrapped up in her own problems that she had forgot Robin told her about her father.
"Oh gosh." Alice apologied. "Robin I'm sorry. I wasn't thinking."
"It's fine." She spoke, then dropped her head down for a moment. Her eyes flickered up at Alice. "Come on. Let's go back inside and eat. Then we'll head to the sheriff station." Alice smiled, then the two of them headed back inside.
