Hello fanfic readers and fans everywhere! Here's another one-shot story starring your favorite "Power Couple": Peter Parker and Kitty Pryde! Before we get into details, just to clarify, this is NOT the fourth installment of the Spidey/Kitty adventures, this is yet another companion.

This one will be on a different focus, since the spotlight will shine on their families, on Aunt May and Mrs. Theresa "Terri" Pryde, a different aspect of our adventurers, yet one that is very familiar for the Spidey fans (and one that was occasionally visited in Kitty's life).

Without further ado, let's go with the usual disclaimer: I DO NOT OWN THESE CHARACTERS; THEY ARE THE PROPERTY OF MARVEL COMICS AND THEIR RESPECTIVE CREATORS.

Enjoy the reading!

SPIDER-MAN AND KITTY PRYDE: ALL IN THE FAMILY

ACT ONE

It all started as a normal day, a promising start of the week for Peter Parker, since his E.S.U. schedule was light for the week so he could spend the rest of the time helping his Aunt May in the F.E.A.S.T. Center, aside from his regular patrolling alongside his girlfriend Kitty Pryde.

Yet, long before, there was a topic that Peter spent years avoiding, but with the encouragement of both Kitty and his sister Teresa, he decided to finally tackle it: Reveal his identity as Spider-Man to his Aunt, the woman who raised him but also, the one he wants to protect the most, doing so by not revealing his identity.

"Peter, I understand this is a tough decision" Teresa talks to her brother as he ponders about the decision "But Kitty and I agree on this, we feel that May shouldn't be kept in the dark about all of this…I'm already having a hard time telling her about my work for the Agents of Wakanda, she thinks I'm still doing consulting work for the Government" she points out how May is still unaware of the true nature of her work, knowing only part of it.

"My mom always knew about me being a mutant, and even though she had some reservations about the X-Men, and honestly she does now with the whole Krakoa thing, she always supported me" Kitty adds to the conversation "Why May wouldn't support you about being Spider-Man?" she poses the question.

"The thing is…you guys know how my life goes around when it comes to being Spider-Man, and recent events in my scope threw a big wrench that put her in jeopardy" Peter explains, with the memories of the recent events flowing in his mind: The Battle against Octavius in Fisk Tower, the Sin-Eater, the return of Norman Osborn as the Green Goblin, his living Hell with Kindred, the situation with Arcade in Madripoor, the fight against Mister Negative's Demons and recently, the mess at Monster Island with Deadpool "The best way to keep her safe is by keeping her away from my world…I almost lose her because of her knowing who I am, and I'm not making that mistake again" he points out that detail, yet the girls share a look of disagreement with Peter's statement.

"But what exactly happened to make you commit that, as you call it, 'mistake'?" Teresa asks him.

"I think you already told me that story before" Kitty comments, remembering that Peter mentioned it when they both shared their stories about their respective pasts, the moment that brought them closer "But if you can tell it with more detail, I'd appreciate it" she adds.

"It goes like this" Peter sighs as he prepares to tell the story "There was a time when May knew about me being Spider-Man, she found out when she discovered my tattered suit while I was barely conscious on my bed after a bloody battle" he explains, recalling the moment when he had his first fight against Morlun, leaving him way beyond 'Battered and Bruised', to the point where he fell asleep and with his lower guard, allowing May to discover the secret "We had a long talk about me being Spider-Man, about Uncle Ben and what this means to me, and while she was very concerned…she was supportive, and I was so happy about it" he explains, prompting Teresa and Kitty to smile as they both imagine that scene "Then came the first Superhero Civil War" the bad memories begin to loom "At first I sided with Tony, I was with the Avengers back then"

"He was one of the spearheads of the Superhuman Registration Act, right?" Teresa asks, to which Peter nods in response.

"He was, and he convinced me that the best way to gain the public's trust and shed away the years of bad publicity Jameson gave me was by revealing my identity to the public" Peter replies, remembering that moment when he stood in front of the reporters and photographers and took off his mask "I'll never forget those words… 'My name is Peter Parker and I've been Spider-Man since I was fifteen years old, any questions?'" he repeated the exact words he said in that moment "May and MJ were supporting me that time, and yet I was preparing to get them to safety because somehow Tony's word wasn't enough, but I did it because I trusted in him and then…"

"Then you saw Tony Stark for what he is" Kitty completes the sentence, showing her own disdain towards Stark.

"He was going to great lengths to win that war, recruiting villains to his side and giving unregistered heroes the same treatment a terrorist does" Peter replies, remembering the things he saw that broke his trust in Tony Stark "I knew it was wrong, so in that moment, I switched sides to Cap's" he explains "And just like that I became a wanted criminal".

"You told me that the Punisher saved your life, right?" Kitty asks him.

"He did, and after I recovered, I joined Cap's side on the war, which of course ended up being won by Tony's side" Peter comments, remembering that battle in Times Square when Rogers yielded "Many heroes were given amnesty, but a bunch of others unregistered heroes like myself, chose to stay in the shadows and 'fight the power'" he then scoffs remembering his stance "Jameson surely had a field day back then" he remembers the feud he had with Jameson.

"And that put you, May and Watson in danger, right?" Teresa asks, to which Peter nods in response.

"I became the target of my villains, I even had to quit my job teaching Physics at Midtown High because of my being Spider-Man" Peter explains the consequences of his switching sides "But the worst came when the Kingpin hired that sniper…when he found us, when he almost got me but…" he tries to explain the next part, but as the memories rush by, he finds it difficult to say the words, prompting Kitty to hold his hand for comfort.

"She was wounded…" Kitty finishes his sentence "She became the target"

"It was hard to find a hospital, they wouldn't help us because I was a wanted criminal for violating the SHRA" Peter recalls those infernal moments "One hospital was kind enough to receive her, and when I almost lost her…I fought for the miracle and it happened" he remembers the time when he had to apply CPR to May, miraculously saving her life "but of course, the danger was still lingering"

"The same sniper was out there?" Teresa poses another question, to which Peter shakes his head in denial.

"It was a different one" Peter replies "He was after MJ and Anna Watson, her aunt and a close friend of May's" he explains, remembering the fight he had against him "MJ was wounded, but there was no time to go to a hospital, so I went to the closes thing I had, the Sanctum Sanctorum"

"That's Doctor Strange's house, right?" Kitty asks, to which Peter nods in response.

"That one" Peter replies "So I asked him to heal her and he did, but knowing that this wouldn't be the end of the nightmare, I begged him to use his magic and make the world forget that I'm Spider-Man"

"He can do that?" Teresa asks with surprise in her voice.

"He has the power level to do it, but he didn't do it alone" Peter replies "Reed Richards told me that Strange consulted with him and Tony about it, Reed agreed with it because, as he told me, he felt responsible for my trouble as he was dealing with his own aftermath of the first War, but Tony…took a long time to convince him to agree" he recalls what Reed told him, how Tony was reluctant because it was against the SHRA, but he relented "So with that, Strange made his magic work and the world forgot that Peter Parker is Spider-Man".

"I have to be honest, I never saw that moment of the unveiling" Kitty comments "But I heard Bobby and Logan claim that they knew who you were before and when you told them your identity, they felt like the memories rushed by, so that makes me wonder…does Strange's magic had some sort of effect?" she asks out of curiosity.

"It gave me a sort of protection that prevented people from deducing my identity; Reed called it a 'Psychic Blindspot'" Peter replies "But whenever I told someone my identity by taking off my mask, the original memories return" he explains.

"You still have that protection?" Teresa asks, but Peter shakes his head in response.

"Nope, I lost it when I indirectly revealed my powers in public" Peter replies "It was during the Spider-Island incident, when most of New York, including some heroes and villains, had Spider-Powers, so I made a video telling the people of the city to use the powers responsibly, and I was posing as quote/unquote, 'Another Powered Citizen', so people wouldn't assume I'm Spidey, but Strange told me the defense broke because of that video" he explains remembering how it failed.

"If you ask me, that's the more reason to tell her before she somehow figures it out" Teresa points out that detail, something that Kitty agrees.

"May's one of the strongest women I've ever met" Kitty comments "I'm sure she can handle knowing about you being Spider-Man, and she'll support you like you know we support you" she squeezes his hand, supporting her boyfriend while Teresa pats his shoulders.

"You're right…" Peter sighs "It's not gonna be easy but…I'll do it" he replies, slowly smiling "Tomorrow when I help her at the F.E.A.S.T. Center, I'll talk to her" he then looks at the girls "You'll be there, right?" he asks them but before Teresa could reply, Kitty steps in.

"Hun, we'll be there, but there's something else" Kitty starts to talk "I'm sure you remember that my mom's coming to visit for a couple of weeks and her flight comes tomorrow, I'll be at the JFK waiting for her" she explains "But I'll meet you guys there, I promise" she then turns to Teresa.

"I promised to accompany Kitty at the airport, but I promise to be there too, P" Teresa replies, putting her hands together as if she is begging for his forgiveness, but Peter simply sighs and laughs.

"Alright, alright, I'll do this with May and then we'll get together, OK?" Peter comments, to which the girls agree, sealing the deal for the next day when Peter will tackle one of the biggest moments of his life: Retelling his secret identity to his beloved Aunt May.

THE NEXT DAY

While Peter headed to the F.E.A.S.T. Center to spend the day with May, Kitty and Teresa headed to the JFK Airport to receive the visit of Kitty's mother Terri, and Teresa decided to make this was the best opportunity to take out her new car, given to her by the Agents of Wakanda.

"So, the Agents of Wakanda gave you a new ride?" Kitty comments while Teresa drives.

"Yup, and the best part is that I got to choose the model" Teresa replies "Once I picked it, they make the modifications and done, new wheels on the go" she adds, checking the gadgets inside the car.

"And what prompted you to choose, from what I assume was plenty of models, an Audi as the car?" Kitty asks her, theorizing in her mind the reason why she chose a German car.

"Audi has cool cars and I don't see myself driving a Camaro, although I once had a Mustang" Teresa replies to her question, also remembering when she used to drive a Mustang in the U.S.

"Uh-Huh" Kitty squints her eyes as she looks at her "I'm sure this has nothing to do with the fact that you may or may not have been influenced by your German boyfriend" she pokes fun at her, giggling when she sees her blushing.

"I like German cars, as much as I love my German boyfriend, I'll leave it there" Teresa replies, holding her laughter "How 'bout you? You ever had a car before?" she asks her to keep the conversation going.

"I used to have a Corolla, it was my dad's" Kitty replies, remembering the time she briefly had a car.

"Wait, do you have a driver's license?" Teresa asks with curiosity.

"I have one but it's been ages since I renewed it" Kitty replies "I don't know if I can do that here or I have to go back to Chicago"

"Speaking of Chicago, we're at JFK now" Teresa cuts the talk when she sees the entranceway to the airport, heading to the parking lot and then to the arrivals area. After a few minutes of waiting, the speaker announces the arrival of Terri's flight.

["Passengers from United Airlines flight 403 from Chicago are arriving through Gate 12"]

The girls waited for the people to come out, and as soon as Kitty recognizes her mother from the passengers, she waves her hand up high to let her know their location, prompting the senior lady to approach them.

"Mom!" Kitty greets her mother with a tight hug "How was the flight?"

"Hi sweetie!" Terri hugs her daughter and looks at her "It was boring, the in-flight movie was a documentary on fossils, not my topic of interest, but at least I made it" she smiles at her "You came alone?"

"No Mom, actually, I'd like you to meet someone" Kitty comments and then looks at Teresa "Meet Teresa Parker, my roommate and Peter's sister" she starts to do the introductions "T, meet my mother Theresa Pryde"

"Pleased to meet you" Terri salutes her namesake with a gentle smile.

"Pleasure's all mine, Mrs. Pryde" Teresa replies in kind as she shakes her hand.

"Please, call me Terri" Terri comments, then looking at Kitty "Now, how about we get my luggage and leave the place?" she gestures with her head and moves to the luggage area. The girls follow Terri to claim her luggage, which was very light for a two-week stay. Afterwards, the women head back to the parking lot and get inside the car, with Terri in the backsteat "So, where's Peter? I thought he'd be coming with you"

"He's with his Aunt at the F.E.A.S.T. Center, Mom" Kitty replies, remembering that he is there to help her, as well as to tell her about his identity as Spider-Man.

"I heard about that place, that's the shelter where you stayed for a while after you arrived, right?" Terri asks, remembering that it was at the F.E.A.S.T. Center where Kitty stayed after May found her.

"Indeed Mom, and I occasionally teach Kendo" Kitty replies, pointing out her Kendo classes.

"Where are you staying, Terri?" Teresa asks the senior lady as she keeps driving "Because Kitty and I talked about it and if you don't mind, you can spend the two weeks at the apartment"

"Oh, I don't want to be a bother for you girls" Terri replies out of courtesy.

"We insist" Teresa comments "We'll make it more comfortable for you than being in a hotel"

"We already settled everything, Mom" Kitty adds to Teresa's comments "Plus, I can't wait for you to meet Peter's Aunt, I'm sure you two will get along just fine" she smiles at the thought of Terri and May getting along "I just hope May's not too distraught when Peter tells her about being Spidey" she ponders in her mind, hoping things go well between Peter and May.

ACT TWO

The day started well for Peter, giving him plenty of time to spend with his beloved Aunt May at the F.E.A.S.T. Center helping with her daily works, but most importantly, he needed to have a private moment with her to reveal his big secret, or more accurately, re-reveal his identity as Spider-Man to her.

"Where's the World's Greatest Philanthropist?" Peter jokes as he walks into the Center, catching his Aunt's attention.

"Oh Peter, I'm not precisely the world's greatest" May jokes as she approaches her nephew to greet him with a hug.

"Right, not the world's, more like the entire universe's greatest philanthropist" Peter corrects, laughing with her "And now you got your beloved nephew to help out" he adds as he returns the hug.

"Great! The more hands helping, the better" May replies, walking inside alongside Peter "Randy and Fred are already deep down with the work" she comments, surprising Peter a bit.

"Fred's here?" Peter asks since he is aware that Randy is here because this is his work, but Fred being here is a surprise because he only appears very sporadically.

"What kind of person I'd be if I stop helping my favorite aunt?" Fred asks jokingly while he moves a couple of boxes with Randy following him.

"A very lousy one, whose aunt is not even his" Randy responds the rhetorical question with a deadpan tone "Hey Pete, the boxes of food are piled up in the back" he gestures with his head indicating the location.

"Got it" Peter replies "When I and guys are done, do you have a moment?" he asks his aunt "There's something important I need to talk with you".

"Sure Pete, I'll be here" May kindly replies, letting Peter go to help his roommates.

"Alright, if you two are here, who's watching Gog?" Peter asks the boys "Because you guys remember what happened the last time we left Gog alone, right?" he throw another question.

"I know it was unfortunate, but I managed to find a good solution about it" Fred replies.

"Unfortunate? You call trashing my bedroom unfortunate?" Randy asks with annoyance in his voice "As for the solution, we send him to the building's basement"

"The basement?" Peter asks, truly surprised "Seriously?"

"Yeah, I'm amazed as well but hey, it helps" Fred shrugs his shoulders while he moves the boxes.

"Besides, the less I'm babysitting him, the better" Randy comments, since the guys know about Gog's hatred of Randy. Peter simply rolls his eyes and keeps up his work with his roommates until they finally catch a break, but after the group gets lunch, Randy and Fred leave for the day, giving Peter the room he needed to talk with his Aunt.

"Those are very nice boys" May comments after Fred and Randy leave "I'm surprised for Fred though, both you and Randy have good relationships yet Fred needs a nice girl in his life" she comments, prompting Peter to show a skeptical look in his face.

"Aunt May, while I love your positivism, you're literally begging for a miracle" Peter jokes, although he does mean it when he says that Fred finding a stable girlfriend is begging for a miracle.

"Oh Peter, everyone deserves some loving, he'll find one eventually" May replies "As for you and me, I'd say our work here is done" she comments, giving Peter the opportunity to approach her.

"Before we close…do you have a moment?" Peter asks his Aunt, gesturing with his head to go back inside.

"Sure Peter" May replies, closing the door as they both step back in "Something's happening, Peter?" she asks, starting to show a bit of concern.

"Aunt May…you know these past days have been very tense around us" Peter comments, referencing the recent situations he, and everyone around him, has been dealing with "And I got to be honest, it's been tougher and tougher to find the strength to overcome everything"

"Oh Peter, I know things have been awful with us" May replies with a comforting tone "The attacks at the center, news about this Sin-Eater, Norman Osborn making the news again, things between you and Mary Jane…" she then sighs "But you have good things in life, a great sister, a loving girlfriend, a…somewhat stable job" she adds, trying to lift her nephew's spirits, prompting him to show a small smile.

"And I'm truly blessed for each and every one of them" Peter replies, gently holding his Aunt's hand "But you are the most important thing I have Aunt May" he comments, turning his sights towards her "You've been there my whole life, you raised me and took the burden of the world on your shoulders and still…you find the strength to keep going every day and I…I just couldn't bear to lose you, you know?" he tells her, fighting back the tears that try to come out.

"Oh Peter" May hugs him tightly, knowing the fears he has about her life, between the first bouts against her cancer and the relapse, she knows how worried he was about her "I know I'm the greatest part of your life, but I have spent a great life, one worth living a thousand times and I don't have any regrets" she tells him, showing the great kindness and wisdom she has within "You on the other hand, you have carried such a huge burden since Ben died and you deserve to be happy, you already have everything you need to be happy, so you shouldn't worry about me, because I know in my heart that as long as you're happy, I am" she adds, causing Peter to drop a couple of tears.

"I know that Aunt May, but still…" Peter quickly wipes off the tears "You mean everything to me, and I know that you're one of the strongest women I've ever met but…I still feel the need to protect you, you know?" he looks into her eyes "From everything that comes around in my life, including one of the biggest things that I haven't told you but…I feel that it's time that you should know about it" he then turns his back so he can start to unbutton his shirt.

"Peter? What are you talking about?" May asks him with concern in her voice, but the answer comes when Peter turns around again, this time with his shirt unbuttoned to reveal his Spider-Man suit underneath.

"Aunt May…I'm Spider-Man" Peter slowly speaks to her, allowing her to assimilate the news. May simply looks at him with wide eyes as she slowly covers her mouth to gasp "Aunt May?" he asks deeply concerned, slowly approaching her as she puts one hand on the side of her head "Aunt May!" he steps forward, gently holding her as if she was about to fall down but she shakes her head.

"Is alright" May replies "It's just…like a sudden rush coming to my head" she adds, to which Peter sighs since he knows what she means.

"The original memories are rushing back to your mind" Peter tells her, recalling the side-effect of Strange's spell: If someone rediscovers Peter's identity as Spider-Man, the original memories rush back to the person's mind, with the feeling of a mild, albeit temporary, headache "I'm here Aunt May, I'm here" he comments as he helps her to sit on a chair.

"I…" May tries to speak "I…remember now…" she comments, feeling now how the memories return, and with it comes the knowledge of Peter's identity as Spider-Man "I remember when I found that suit, then you confessed and…"

"Take the time you need, I know it's not that easy to assimilate" Peter comments, reassuring his presence and allowing her to take a breath and recover from the sudden shock.

"Peter…all this time…" May comments, causing Peter to lower his head, feeling like a big scold is coming at him, a well-deserved scold for keeping her on the loop for so long.

"I know, and I'm so sorry, is just that…" Peter starts to excuse himself "After you got shot, I thought my life was over, and it got worse when MJ got shot afterwards, so I had to beg for a solution and everyone forgot, but…I felt that the best way to keep you safe is that you should never know about my identity again" he tells her, feeling the sadness coming out "I know I just let you down but…"

"Peter, don't you ever think you're letting me down" May interjects "Because you never have"

"But…what about…" Peter tries to talk, remembering the time she looked disappointed at him when his dissertation from college was rejected due to plagiarism.

"Peter…you always put others ahead of yourself, and now I have the true evidence of why" May starts to explain herself "And yet, there are so many questions that linger, like…is this why Mary Jane rejected your proposal?"

"Sort of…" Peter replies, sighing as the memory of MJ's rejection returns to his mind "She knows who I am but she felt like she doesn't want to be Spider-Man's wife, she was satisfied with the slow pace and she felt like this was a rush, not to mention that she wanted to do other things too"

"And what about the college?" May asks him, showing a mix of concern and curiosity.

"Well…remember the period when I was acting more arrogant? Dismissing the family? Being an overall jerk?" Peter asks her, to which May nods in response "That was a period of time when…Otto Octavius took over my body" he comments, causing May to gasp "Octavius took control of my life and then he went back to college and used his work as mine, thus why the papers with my name on it were labeled as plagiarized"

"Because Octavius used his own work" May adds to his comment, further assimilating the new circumstances she is gaining knowledge about "And what about your company?" now she asks him about the downfall of Parker Industries.

"I had to destroy the company to ensure that Octavius, and HYDRA, wouldn't get their hands on everything we worked so hard to accomplish" Peter replies, recalling his battle against Octavius in Shanghai when he had to destroy the company, preventing his creations to fall into evil hands to be used against the people "May, my life is crazy, and as Spider-Man is even crazier but…" he tries to explain again but May once again interjects.

"Peter, I've seen, and lived, a lot of crazy things in this city and in this life" May speaks to her nephew "I understand the dangers you put yourself into and…after everything you've been through, it would be so unfair to scold you or nag at you…" she then stands up from the chair "Losing you would hurt me, but it would hurt me much more to deny you for everything you are" she walks towards her nephew "Even though Ben's not your father, you are everything he is, always helping others ahead of himself" she gently caresses his face.

"Uncle Ben's the reason why I do this" Peter replies, to which May nods her head.

"I know…Power and Responsibility" May replies, recalling her late husband's mantra, one that Peter follows in his life as both Parker and Spider-Man.

"You're not mad at me?" Peter shyly asks her, to which she chuckles in response.

"Why would I be mad at you?" May asks him "Yes, you kept this secret from me, but from my understanding, you coming clean now is greater than taking the secret to the grave" she adds, prompting Peter to smile at her "Knowing this is just a reminder that, in spite of the troubles, you always do what's right…you help everyone".

"It's what I do…" Peter laughs a little bit, but his smile grows as he feels the burden become much lighter than before.

"How are you feeling?" May asks him with curiosity.

"Relieved…very relieved" Peter sighs but then laughs "Like a heavy burden was taken off!" he laughs as he hugs his beloved Aunt.

"I'm proud of you Peter…" May comments as she hugs him back "And I know Ben is proud of you too" she adds, giving not only her approval, but also a much needed motivation "Now…you said that MJ knew, who else knows about it?" she asks him out of curiosity.

"Some heroes do, I'll give you the list" Peter replies, smiling at her.

"And Kitty and Teresa know?" May asks, to which Peter nods.

"They do, and boy do they have something to tell you too" Peter replies, adding the fact that Kitty and Teresa should tell her now about their own superheroic works but before the conversation could continue, the sound of the news report interrupts them.

["Ladies and Gentlemen, we're interrupting your regular programming for Breaking News, a hostage situation is under development in the lower levels of One World Trade Center, the perpetrators are members of a unknown hi-tech outfit who demands a 10 million dollar ransom in exchange of the lives of the hostages"]

"Oh Dear…" May gasps at the news, turning to Peter to look at him.

"Aunt May, I have to…" Peter tries to talk but once again May is the one who steps in.

"Go and do what you do best Peter…save everyone" May smiles at her nephew, encouraging him to be Spider-Man, prompting him to rush to the back of the center and fully change into his Spider-Man suit, ready to tackle another day with greater strength than before.

"Thank you May, for giving me the strength I needed, and thank you Kitty and Teresa for pushing me forward to it" Peter ponders in his mind "Speaking of…I hope there aren't complications with Kitty's mom since she's visiting"

MEANWHILE, AT TRIBECA

After an uneventful trip, Kitty and Teresa arrive to their apartment in Tribeca with Mrs. Pryde in tow. Once they enter, Terri takes a good look at the apartment, nodding her head in approval.

"I must say, this is not too shabby" Terri comments "It does feel better than spending hundreds of bucks on a hotel room".

"Thanks for the compliment" Teresa replies to her namesake's comments "and I must say, Kitty's been one of the best roommates ever" she adds.

"I'm the only roommate you ever had, T" Kitty jokingly responds as she helps with her mother's luggage.

"Still, you're the best" Teresa comments, helping with Terri's luggage.

"Peter comes often around here?" Terri asks her daughter, prompting Teresa to stifle her laugh.

"He does, after all both his girlfriend and his sister live here" Kitty replies as she sits on the couch.

"And your partner Spider-Man comes to visit too?" Terri asks raising an eyebrow, a question that startles both girls a little bit.

"Well, he accompanies me back here, he just wants to make sure his partner comes home safe" Kitty replies, making up the excuse since her mother is unaware that Peter is Spider-Man.

"And I work for the Agents of Wakanda, so there's extra layers of protection" Teresa adds to Kitty's comments, since she already told her mother about her roommate's work. Sadly, their day is interrupted when a news report beeps on Kitty's Webware device.

"Hang on…" Kitty comments as she looks at her Webware "There's a bank robbery downtown, a whole convoy stolen" she comments looking at Teresa.

"What are you waiting for, then?" Terri steps in, talking to both girls "I'm sure Spider-Man is already on the case, you two should be jumping on to it!" she exclaims, prompting the girl to go and solve that crisis "Don't mind about me, I'll be fine!"

"Well…your mom sure is a motivational speaker" Teresa jokes while she enters her room and goes for her winged vest while Kitty activates her suit through her Webware.

"What can I say? When she's right, she's right" Kitty jokes, turning around to her mother "We'll be back Mom!" she then runs alongside Teresa and jump out of the window, heading into action.

ACT THREE

Dealing with hostage situations is always something that Spider-Man dealt with constantly in his entire career, even after joining the Avengers or during crime-fighting partnerships. However, with Kitty otherwise busy, Spidey handled the hostage situation on his own, but fortunately there were no casualties and the threat was defeated without major material damage.

"All's well in another day of work for your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man" Peter quips as he leaves the building just in time as the Police arrives "It's a good thing they weren't so dangerous, those weapons were so easy to neutralize thanks to their own signal scramblers…Man, gotta love when the bad guys fail in planning" he muses in his mind as he swings by "Gotta say, telling this to May gave me not only a relief, but also a major boost, this really helped me" he thinks about what just happened with his Aunt May, now glad that he took Kitty and Teresa's advice at heart "Which makes me wonder, where are they? I tried to call them but they didn't respond, maybe I should drop by to their apartment, just to check and see if they're there, unless they're around the city with Mrs. Pryde" he thinks about the possibility of them being busy showing the city to Kitty's mom as he swings his way to Tribeca. As soon as he arrives, he enters through the window, taking off his mask as he walks inside "Kitty? Teresa? Are you there?" he asks around as he steps in, but then his Spider-Sense slightly buzzes in.

"Peter? Is that you?" the voice of Terri is heard as she walks out of Kitty's room "I'm sure you're wondering about the giiiAAAAAAAIE!" she then screams and jumps at the sight of Peter wearing the Spider-Man suit and fully unmasked.

"AAAH!" Peter also gets startled, now realizing about the warning but acting too late "Mrs. Pryde!? Wh-Wh-What are you…?" he tries to ask what is she doing there but he fails to gather the right words.

"Peter!?" Terri asks, still in shock "Why are you wearing that!?" she asks pointing at the suit "Are you…?"

"Ma'am…I'm know what you're asking so this has a very good explanation" Peter starts to calm down, gesturing with his hands to her so she can start to relax as well, thus trying to figure the right choice of words to solve this situation.

MEANWHILE, IN ANOTHER PART OF THE CITY

While Kitty does enjoy the partnership she has with Peter as 'Spider-Man and Shadowcat', she does not oppose to doing team-ups with somebody else, such as this case where she worked with her roommate and friend Teresa Parker against a group of bank robbers who assaulted a convoy of trucks. Both girls made quick work of the crew and left them packed for the authorities, but unlike her work with Spidey, Kitty did not needed to leave the scene thanks to Teresa's more amicable treatment with local authorities, the perks of having a friend who is part of the Avenger's support crew known as the Agents of Wakanda.

"This one was easy" Teresa comments to Kitty as she watches the NYPD truck leave with the robbers.

"It was" Kitty replies "And hey, this was a pretty cool team-up" she gives her a thumbs-up gesture.

"I hope to get more team-ups like this" Teresa laughs in her response "Although it's weird that Peter wasn't around here" she comments, but that prompts Kitty to gasp.

"Oh my God! He's at the F.E.A.S.T. Center with May!" Kitty exclaims, remembering about being there for Peter when he tells May about his being Spider-Man.

"Right! Hang on…" Teresa replies while she activates an app on her phone "This will call the car, it'll come over here automatically and we'll get to the F.E.A.S.T. Center in no time" she comments, surprising Kitty with that.

"So wait, you can summon the car with that and it drives itself to the point of origin of the call?" Kitty asks, to which Teresa nods in response "This Wakandan Tech is damn good" she mutters. In a matter of minutes, Teresa's Audi TT arrives right in front of them and when Teresa opens the door, the holographic projection of herself deactivates, allowing her to step inside the car "That hologram's standard issue?" she asks out of curiosity.

"Yup, that way local cops won't pull over" Teresa replies "Let's head to the Center and hope things are OK with Pete and May" she comments while Kitty steps in and they leave the crime scene, heading straight to the F.E.A.S.T. Center to be there for Peter and May.

After a few minutes on the road, the girls arrive to the Center, just as May is closing the door to head home, surprising the girls when they arrive.

"Aunt May? Where's Peter?" Kitty asks her as she steps out of the car.

"Kitty, Teresa, hey girls" May greets them "Peter went out, he was dealing with an urgent matter" she replies to her question.

"Urgent matter as in…?" Kitty asks, trying to get the information out of May's mouth.

"Urgent as in a hostage situation in One World Trade Center Urgent" May replies, surprising both girls.

"Hostages? That's why he wasn't dealing with the robbery" Teresa comments but then both girls realize of what May just said.

"Wait a minute" Both girls speak at the same time "You know!?" they both asks May, prompting the senior lady to laugh and nod in response.

"Yes, I know about Peter's 'Extracurricular Activities'" May replies in code since they are out in the open "He already told me before he left and not too long ago he wrote me letting me know he's OK, he as heading to your apartment to catch up with you girls" she adds, prompting both girls to sigh in relief "So we should head over there because both of you also have to talk about your own things" she jokingly scolds them, since she now knows about them being part of the superhero community.

"You're right" Kitty responds "We'll talk over there and…" her words are interrupted by the beeping sound of her Webware "Hang on…Uh guys? My mom just texted me, she says that she wants to meet us at the apartment" she tells Teresa, showing her the message that says 'Come to the apartment to talk. Now.'

"Wait…if Terri's there" Teresa talks and then looks at May "and you said that Peter went to the apartment after his own situation" she starts to connect the dots "You guys don't think he…"

"Burst into the apartment and my mom found out?" Kitty nervously asks.

"Then we should all go over there and find out" May steps in and responds, prompting the three women to head into the car and go to their apartment in Tribeca.

BACK AT TRIBECA

The women arrive to the apartment in Tribeca, hoping to find things relatively calm but as soon as they step inside, they discover the most awkward yet unexpected scene: Terri and Peter sitting in the table, calmly waiting for them while he is still wearing his Spider-Man suit.

"Katherine Anne Pryde" Terri speaks with a bit serious tone "Is time we have a talk"

"Sorry Hun, your mom's damn good at these interrogation things" Peter sheepishly comments, feeling embarrassed about the situation, which grows worse when he sees that his Aunt May arrived with them "A-A-Aunt May? What happened?"

"Mom, I know how this looks like but there is a good explanation" Kitty starts talking to her mother, hoping to defuse the situation.

"When were you gonna tell me that your boyfriend is a superhero?" Terri throws the question at her "I have no problem with you dating superheroes, you already dated that big burly Russian guy you almost marry, you told me about that British scumbag who took advantage of you, you told me about that Iceguy who came out after you guys broke up and you told me about that glorified astronaut Quilt or something" she lists all of Kitty's past relationships "But why didn't you tell me that Peter is Spider-Man?"

"Mom, I can't just go around and tell people that Peter's Spider-Man" Kitty replies, arguing her reasons "He has a secret identity for a reason, and is not my right to tell others about it, and trust me, it's hard to do so having friends who can read my mind" she comments "And I'm sorry about keeping that from you and that you had to find out that way but…this doesn't change the fact about what I feel about him".

"I know" Terri stands up "I know how much you love him, and my point of view about him hasn't changed…Well, not that much" she comments, turning her sights towards Peter "Peter's a nice boy, the nicest I've ever met, and I'll admit that I was part of the 'Spider-Man is a Menace' bandwagon back in the day, but I find hard to believe that such a nice boy is a menace, so yeah, we talked about things and your relationship, and I must say, you probably have found the best boyfriend ever, so don't you ever, EVER, let him go, you heard me?" she adds as she puts her hands on her daughter's shoulders.

"If I may interject" May steps into the conversation "I appreciate the nice things you said about Peter, but Kitty also has great virtues" she talks about her "And a great one was her loyalty to her word of keeping my nephew's identity secret, because she protects the things she values and cares the most about, something that shows courage and strength and she is truly one of the most I've seen" she comments about Kitty's virtues "After all, like Peter, she's also a superhero"

"Former X-Man, former Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., founding member of Excalibur and former Guardian of the Galaxy" Terri lists part of Kitty's résumé, causing everyone to stare at her "What? I'm proud of my baby girl's accolades".

"Mom, you're embarrassing me" Kitty mutters, blushing out of embarrassment.

"Well, my nephew is a former Avenger, former member of the Future Foundation, teacher, photographer and overall great person" May replies "Two can play that game" she pokes fun at Terri.

"Well, the point of all of this is…" Peter stands up and steps in "Our family is now into the whole thing, and while we're really happy you guys are part of this, you should know that this is a life of risks, we'll still protect you because we'll never stop worrying about you" he adds with a serious tone while he hugs Kitty from the side.

"We know you can stand up and fight, but leave the heavy duty to us" Kitty adds to Peter's comments "But we'll never stop thanking you for the support, we mean it" she adds while she hugs Peter back.

"As for me, I can take care of all of you because that's what I do" Teresa awkwardly speaks, feeling a little bit left out of the conversation but meaning well about her intentions of helping out. Yet before anyone else speaks, another alert beeps on Kitty's Webware.

"Uh-Oh, the Syndicate is attacking Times Square" Kitty comments to Peter.

"Bet ya dinner that it's another Electro tantrum" Peter quips at her while they both step outside and he puts back his mask on, but only puts it halfway "Oh Baby" he stops her to look at her "Thanks for the encouragement" he replies, bringing her close to him to give her a loving kiss on her lips, a kiss that she returns with the same affection.

"I told you it was going to work" Kitty giggles after the kiss while Peter smiles, putting the rest of the mask and they both hold hands as they jump and swing away to do what they do best, and doing it together.

"We raised great kids" May comments as she looks at both of them swing away.

"Two of the greatest" Terri adds to May's comments "May, right?"

"The one and only May Parker" May replies extending her hand "You must be Theresa"

"Call me Terri" Terri responds while she shakes her hand.

"Pleased to meet you" Both senior women speak at the same time.

"This is the beginning of a good friendship" May comments, smiling at her new friend.

"You can be sure of that" Terri replies, smiling in kind "Now if you girls excuse me, I'll go back to unpacking" she heads to her daughter's bedroom and start the unpacking, leaving May and Teresa alone in the living room.

"Now you, young lady" May jokingly sterns her niece "It's your turn to come clean with the whole superhero thing" she points it out while Teresa nods, laughing a bit.

"Finally" Teresa sighs "You ask and I'll answer" she smiles at her Aunt "Oh, by the way, we have to schedule for next week because after this, I'd really love you meet my boyfriend".

THE END

With this, another One-Shot is wrapped! This was an idea I wanted to explore with Peter and Kitty's families, something that I felt was necessary, especially for the things to come for this loving couple.

I hope you enjoyed reading this one and show the support in the reviews and the favs and follows! As for my projects, the Avengers fic "AIM-ing Triumphantly" still goes around and I have a couple of one-shots in the wings before the upcoming Fourth Installment of Spidey and Kitty's adventures, so stay tuned for more!

THANK YOU FOR READING!
