Chapter 6 - Rescue Mission?
After the fifth years' last O.W.L. exam, Harry, Ron, Neville, Hermione, Ginny, and Luna made their way out of school to the Ministry of Magic on thestrals. Directly before leaving, Harry and Hermione had led the acting headmistress out into the Forbidden Forest where she got taken away by the centaurs.
Upon landing, the six dismounted the thestrals and gathered in a telephone booth. It was a tight squeeze. Ron punched a series of numbers into the phone and then picked up the handle. He impatiently answered the automated questions. After the last question, name badges were released for the group to wear. As soon as all of them were wearing a badge, the floor of the phone booth started to sink into the ground.
When they arrived in the Ministry Atrium, it was deserted. Unconcerned, they took the elevator down to the Department of Mysteries. Once on the correct floor, the six spilled out of the elevator and made their way to the Hall of Prophecies without encountering a single person.
Meanwhile, at Hogwarts, the Alfheim students and teacher were worried. They could tell something was wrong. They searched all the most likely places for Harry and his friends. When none of the students they were looking for were found, and instead they found a panicked Draco and his groupies, they interrogated the Slytherin group and found out that the Slytherin group had heard the missing students talking about the Department of Mysteries in the Ministry of Magic. Now, with a destination in mind, the Alfheim students and teacher headed out.
The Alfheim congregant made it to the Ministry of Magic. Unfortunately, they arrived just in time to witness the end of the battle between Dumbledore and Voldemort, right before Voldemort disappeared. Dumbledore, upon seeing them, ordered them back to Hogwarts.
The next morning, the Alfheim students and teacher were called up to Dumbledore's office to be briefed on the happenings of the previous night. Once they knew all of the important details, they reported on what had been going on in his absence. From there, the meeting dissolved into a discussion on the plans for the next school year.
