Percy
The burning sensation from before seemed to fade away as the empty words that were spoken in the room passed mindlessly through his ears. Mostly female voices spoke with occasional male comments. The one thing he did notice was the hand that very gently rubbed his face. It sent tingles down his skin, and made the aches in his body more tolerable. It was Annabeth's touch. Only her and Percy's mom were able to make him feel that way when they touched him.
Percy wanted to hold Annabeth in his arms, but he wasn't even able to bring himself to open his eyes. So he settled for the affectionate touch she gave him. He was able to feel at ease until the voices slowly faded out. Panic rose in his chest, where was he? Was he still with Annabeth? What was going on?
He forced his eyes to open. The light of the room made him want to shrivel back into a small ball.
He groaned and moved. Percy managed to sit up, adrenaline coursing through his body. He needed his Wise Girl…
The bright light became manageable and looked around the room. Relief spread through his chest. Annabeth was sitting up right against a wall, her head slumped to the side. She seemed peaceful, at ease.
He drew his attention the other three in the room. Hermione was lying on her side, her arms underneath her head. She was fast asleep. Near the door, just next to the sinks Ron and Harry were leaned against the wall sleeping. Ron had pulled his knees up to his chest, letting his head rest in them.
Percy's stomach twisted as his head swam. He wanted to go home… he wanted to go back to his little apartment he lived in with his mom and Paul… he wanted to go back to snuggling with Annabeth on the couch, his mother and Paul on the other side of him.
The couch was small, but they were able to fit all four of them on it if Annabeth sat on his lap. The thought made him smile. His little sister… it would be four more months until his little sister was born… He had never had a sibling before. It was his first time being a big brother, and he was going to miss it. According to the date, Annabeth and him had been gone nearly a week. When in reality they had been gone for two.. No.. three days. Percy had cheated death so many times, maybe this will be the time he won't be able to.
He shivered at the thought. He dragged his thoughts back to reality and realized he was still sitting on the floor. His friends passed out around him. Part of him wanted to grab Annabeth and run. He would take her home, he would let the wizards deal with the problem. And he could finally have what he wanted… just to be safe.. And happy at home with the love of his life. He was tired of worrying they were never going to get to experience life together… Percy has been working so hard to be able to go to New Rome with Annabeth. It had been a struggle with his ADHD but he made it work. He would make anything work as long as he was able to be with Annabeth. But he wasn't sure he would be able to make living much longer work… that was the one thing he didn't hold in his hands.
His gaze wandered across the room, landing on Annabeth. He would fight, however hard it was. He would fight for HER.
