Annabeth
The air was cold, but Annabeth was warm.. And content. There was the subtle pounding against her ear. It was subtle… measured. Constant. A hand was placed on her head and ran down her cheek. She leaned into the comforting touch.
"I love you," she could hear the vibration against her ear indicating someone was talking.
She lifted her head, Percy shifted with her. She had been lying on his chest under a blanket.
His face was pale in the candle lit light. He seemed tired.
He gave a weak smile. His sea green eyes welcomed her back into his arms.
"Wait, we were in the bathroom…"
She pushed herself off of him standing up.
"We were in the bathroom. With Hermione, Harry, and Ron. How did we get here?!"
She turned in a full circle. Percy pushed himself off the ground, a groan escaped his lips. He staggered towards her. Annabeth backed away in response.
Exhaustion over flowed his expression. He seemed like he was about to fall on his knees and sob.
"Annabeth… please…"
"How can I know you're real?"
"You fell asleep on the bathroom floor… I carried you here. Hermione brought us here to hide us." He rubbed his forehead, then his arm dropped to his side.
"Please… I'm your Seaweed Brain," He trembled.
Annabeth strode towards him and hugged him. "I'm sorry.. I-I can't tell what's real and what's not."
Percy put his head on her shoulder, his arms hanging at his side.
"I'm so tired…" he sobbed.
Shock flooded through Annabeth. She had hardly ever seen Percy cry.
"I'm sorry," he pulled away wiping away the tears that so innocently streaked his face.
"Hey… it's okay. We need to rest."
He nodded. She slid her hand into his and intertwined their fingers. She pulled him over to the makeshift bed.
She let Percy sit down before she slid right down next to him.
"I love you Percy. I always will." She kissed his head.
Sorry for such a short chapter.
