A/N: Hey y'all. So I've been dealing with some Writer's Block which has been aMaZiNg, and since the Holidays are here and I'm on break from classes, I've decided to take a break for two weeks.

It'll be a short hiatus, I assure you, and I'll be back in 2021 with more chapters and hopefully the end of this story.

And on top of the Holidays, I still have a project due in January and I'm trying to binge-watch the Advanced Generation at the moment. I am also working on two stories that I should start posting after I finish this.

I'm sorry for another hiatus but enjoy the Holidays :).

*Flashback*

"I guess being a Gym Leader is more overwhelming than I thought?"

A man with black hair smiled kindly at the brown-haired woman on the screen in front of him, "It is, I had to learn that lesson the hard way. And with the Indigo League coming up this summer, I've got battles concerted all the way to this winter."

"Darn, she was really looking forward to seeing you."

"I was too, and I heard she's having a fever, is she awake?"

The woman nodded, "Serena, come here please."

A girl of about five with messy honey-blonde hair, looking like she rolled out of bed, bright blue eyes, and pink pajamas.

Her face lit up as she sat down on her mother's lap and looked at the screen, "Daddy!" she happily shouted.

"Morning princess, how are you feeling?"

"Mommy said my forehead is still warm and I'm still sneezing so I haven't gone to school and trained on Skiddo," she said the last part with some relief. He chuckled, he was well aware of his daughter's protests against following in her mother's footsteps.

"So what have you been doing all day?"

"Watching cartoons and eating mommy's soup to help me feel better." The little girl paused, "You're still coming back to Kalos this summer, right Daddy?"

The man frowned, "Sorry princess, I have a lot of challengers, I might not have any free time until Winter."

The little girl hung her head before her face lit up again, "Can you come back for my birthday next year?"

"I'll-"

"Sir," the person looked at the man, "Your challenger is here."

"Well, duty calls, I'll see you two soon, bye princess."

"Bye-bye Daddy, and promise you'll come back to Kalos for my birthday."

The man chuckled, "I promise."

The screen went dark as the person who had entered spoke up, "Sir, the Science Division is asking for you to inspect the equipment before they start looking for Mew."

"Madame Boss can handle it, there was no need to interrupt," the man said with a dismissive wave of his hand.

"T-t-that's the prob-prob-problem sir. Madame Boss, she- she passed away this morning. You are now officially the head of Team Rocket, Boss Giovanni."

*Flashback Ends*

"Finish it off with Thunder Punch," Giovanni said, snapping his fingers at the Drill Pokemon.

"Rhy," Rhyperior roared as he charged towards Lysandre's Gyarados, his brownish-grey fist crackling with golden electricity as he rammed it into Gyarados's side.

The red, Mega-Evolved Atrocious Pokemon let out a guttural scream, it sounded artificial but the pain in the eyes of the Pokemon was enough to confirm that it was real.

Lysandre was shaking with rage as he returned Gyarados.

"It's impossible," he hissed.

Giovanni smirked, "I was a Gym Leader for sixteen years, and you think I wouldn't have a way to counter a Gyarados."

Lysandre snarled before tossing another Pokeball, "Mienshao."

The Martial Arts Pokemon appeared and got into a fighting stance, snarling at Rhyperior.

Giovanni rolled his eyes, "Earthquake," he said cooly.

Rhyperior lifted his foot and stomped it down, causing the ground to shake and rumble. Mienshao stumbled about, Lysandre kneeled to keep himself from falling. Giovanni stood silently, unmoving, and smirking as he watched the leader of Team Flare and his Pokemon stumbling about, frantically trying to stay on their feet.

"Finish Mienshao off before Lysandre can further embarrass himself. Stone Edge."

Mienshao's eyes widened as the blue stones appeared out of the ground, sending it flying and falling in front of Lysandre who'd stood back up at full height. He growled as he returned the fainted Pokemon.

"I'm aware of your next three, and believe me, there is no challenge. Surrender. Now."

Lysandre let out a maniacal cackle, "You really think I'll surrender," he roared, "I'm this close to winning, wiping you out, AND DESTROYING THIS WORLD, AND YOU CAN'T STOP ME."

Giovanni smirked, looking at the mess of a man before him, "And when did I say that I would be the one to stop you? You have a kill order out for my daughter, while I came here to confront you, I'm not the biggest threat to you and your twisted ideals, that honor falls to Ash Ketchum. I've dealt with him enough to know that he won't stop, not until the very end, and unfortunately, that end will be you taking your final breath." Giovanni turned to leave, returning Rhyperior and walking off, keeping his hand close enough to his Pokeballs.

Lysandre was shaking with rage as he watched Giovanni leave. He grabbed three Pokeballs at once, "HONCHKROW, MANECTRIC, MAWILE," he screamed, sending them flying.

Giovanni sent three Pokeballs flying as well, belonging to Nidoqueen, Nidoking, and Machamp.

"Steel Wing, Bite, Play Rough!"

"Machamp, Thunder Punch on Honchkrow. Nidoking, Earthquake on Mawile and Manectric. Nidoqueen, Sludge Wave on those two as well," Giovanni commanded.

One of Machamp's fists was surrounded by electricity as it was rammed into the side of Honchkrow. Nidoking slammed a foot into the ground, causing it to rumble and knocking both Manectric and Mawile to the side for them to fall prey to Nidoqueen's Sludge Wave, causing them to faint.

"As I said, there was no challenge. You think you're playing god-"

"Playing god? What makes you think I'm playing, I am destroying what is cruel and unjust, something even Arceus couldn't do, and recreating the world in my image. Without crime, hunger, or evils of any kind. And for that world to be created, sacrifices must be made."

"You're insane."

"You say that because I have power you can't even comprehend. You were called that by those who saw the power you possessed with Mewtwo and the Kami Trio. I hold the power of Legendaries, and you are nothing more than a bug underfoot." Lysandre stood and held his arms out while Giovanni and his Pokemon got into a fighting stance. "ENJOY YOUR LAST MOMENTS BEFORE AN ETERNITY IN HELL!" With that, a Malamar appeared behind the estranged Team Flare Leader and teleported him away.

Giovanni narrowed his eyes at where Lysandre stood as he returned his Pokemon. He pulled out a small communicator.

"All agents, this is a direct order. Track down and murder Lysandre at any and all costs and report confirmation of death directly to me."

"Well, the boss seems serious if he's giving out a direct order," James said.

"I bet if it eliminates competition, your boss is serious about it," Ash said.

"While that is true, the boss would only try to dismantle an enemy organization, not killing their leader," Jessie explained.

"Ya, like the boss, wasn't tryna kill those two idiots in Hoenn, or that weirdo in Sinnoh, or that fat guy in Unova, and even that crazy lady in Alola," Meowth said.

"Cyrus is still dead, thankfully," Dawn mumbled.

"Of course we don't have that luxury this time," Brock muttered in response.

The group covered their ears as another explosion rang out.

"Must be an intense battle if there's this many explosions," Chloe said, shaking a bit.

"You'll be fine," Goh said, holding a hand out to Chloe, "I'll keep you safe."

She took his hand, blushing a bit.

"I ship it," May shouted, causing both of them to turn bright red.

"Is it just me or do the people that know Bonnie ever randomly think that she's gonna pop out of nowhere at the mere mention of shipping?" Korrina said.

"She is a little matchmaker," Serena giggled.

"I'm aware, her latest matchmaking endeavour is trying to get me and Clemont together."

"I think Mairin is in on it too," Alain said.

"Well, that's wonderful," Korrina sighed.

"I feel like we're missing something."

Ash laughed, "If you think May's teasing is bad, you ain't seen nothing yet."

"I'm scared."

"You should be," the Kalosian Trainers and Ash said in unison.

"Bonnie is the mini-twerpette, right?"

"With the Dedenne?"

"Yeah," Serena said.

"Oh, then we agree with you four wholeheartedly," James said while Jessie and Meowth nodded.

"Now I really need to meet this girl," May mumbled.

"Meteor Mash!"

"Shadow Ball!"

"Garchomp, Dragon Rush!"

"That's Steven, Diantha, and Cynthia!" Max shouted.

"Are you sure?" May asked.

"Yeah! Steven's Metagross can use Meteor Mash, Diantha's Gardevoir can use Shadow Ball, and Cynthia's Garchomp can use Dragon Rush!"

"Besides, it sounded like them too," Ash added.

"Of course you'd know that," Drew muttered.

"Ya really think he wouldn't?" May joked.

"Good point."

The group moved through the ruined streets of Vermillion City. Chloe and Goh shuddered at the sight of their hometown in shambles.

"Do you think my dad is okay?"

Goh looked to her, "I'm sure he's fine, he's got some of Ash's Pokemon and he's got all of mine besides Raboot."

"Yeah, that Golurk of yours should be all he needs though."

"Oh yeah, the one Ash and I found at the Colossus Ruins?"

"Do you have a second Golurk I don't know about?"

"That would be hard to hide, don't ya think?"

Chloe giggled, "You're right."

The sound of shattering glass caused two people dressed in lab coats to flinch before realizing what happened.

"That was the dome around Cerise Park!" A frazzled looking man with yellow hair shouted.

"Then let's not waste time Ren, what if the Professor is hurt?" An equally frazzled woman with blue hair pulled into a low ponytail said as she threw open the doors to outside, trailed by a Magnamite.

"Chrysa, Francois, wait up," Ren panted, forcing himself to speed up to catch Chrysa.

"Professor!" Chrysa shouted, pushing the doors of Cerise Park open.

"Wait!" Ren grabbed her arm. "There's glass all over the floor, if you charge in, you'll cut yourself."

"But the Professor-"

"We've got two Pokemon, belonging to Ash, that are clearly Champion Caliber, and Goh's Pokemon have a great relationship with the Professor, I'm sure he's fine."

"You should listen to Ren! He's right, Chrysa! There's far too much glass on the ground from the damage that these vines caused, you could injure yourself!" Professor Cerise yelled, standing on the upward extending hand of Goh's Golurk.

"Professor!" Chrysa and Ren shouted in relief upon seeing the maroon-haired man.

Golurk kneeled down, allowing its passenger to return to the ground, "Are you two alright?"

Both research assistants nodded.

"Good. Now my next priority is my family, are they okay?"

"Talia and Parker are alright. Chloe is with Goh, Ash, and Ash's friends, but we haven't heard from her since this all started," Chrysa answered.

"I bet Ash's friends are strong, so I just have to hope that Chloe is alright."

A/N: So, this chapter was a bit of filler, and it was also a way to give some character depth to Giovanni. See y'all in the New Year.

Amourshipper35 - Yeah, it's not a common theory but it made sense with how the plot was going so I added it in.

UnKnownGuy2006 - She would've complained about the sappiness, and she knows who she is.

Green Fox - Z-Moves are a maybe, if I can somehow get Ash his Z-Ring without mucking the plot up then I'll probably throw one in there.

Johnny Spectre - I'm aware, it's not a common theory/headcanon but as I said before, it made sense with how the plot was going

IAmDomeAceTucker - He failed us when he tried to kill a ten-year-old

Robins in the Ashes - Yes

Shadow wolf42 - Yeah, I'm trying to figure out a good way to introduce the Champions, and I think this break is just what I need.
