A/N: Here's the epilogue as promised, it's short and I think a good way to end the story.

It had been a month since Lysandre's attack on Vermillion City. Cleanup was underway and Goh and Ash had been given vacation time from the lab until it was fully operational again.

May, Max, and Drew went back to Hoenn. Brock had left to check on his family and was staying in Pewter City for the time being. The remaining group had gone to the Sinnoh Region for a short while.

Goh had been working to expand his Pokédex, basically throwing a Pokeball at every Pokémon he saw, to everyone's amusement. Dawn and Serena both ended up taking part in a contest in Veilstone City, with Dawn winning and Serena taking second place. Chloe had become somewhat of a battling novice, with the help of the group.

Ash was trying to find a trainer he knew while he was there, a trainer a full 30 places above him in the PWC rankings, but the search failed.

They split up again, with Dawn leaving to compete once again in the Sinnoh Contest Circuit, and Ash, Serena, Goh, and Chloe heading for the Kalos Region.

Absol, as usual, was at Serena's feet as the Kalosian Performer had dozed off on Ash's shoulder. Chloe was staring out the window at the sprawling Lumiose City below the plane. Goh was reviewing his Pokedex again.

Ash smiled, "Wake up, sleepyhead."

Serena blinked to adjust her eyes to the light before giving Ash a playful jab in the stomach.

"So, we're meeting one of your friends once we land?" Goh asked, starting to clear his tray table.

"Two of them actually."

"I still can't believe that there are cities this big," Chloe breathed.

"It's even more shocking for small-town kids like Serena and me."

"I keep forgetting that you two are from small towns, you seemed so used to big cities."

"That's cause we had to travel through them," Serena said.

"So when's the exhibition match?"

"A few hours after we land."

The plane finally landed and the airport was full of semi-chaotic reunions but a childish, piercing screech drowned out all other sounds.

"MY LIFE'S WORK IS COMPLETE! I CAN NOW DIE PEACEFULLY!"

A blonde-haired girl sprinted through the crowd, followed by an older blond-haired boy who seemed to be her brother was frantically apologizing on her behalf.

Chloe and Goh exchanged confused glances as the little girl ran up to Serena and wrapped her arms around her.

"Bonnie, I thought we agreed that you wouldn't do this," the boy groaned.

"I can't believe that you thought I'd restrain from celebrating my biggest matchmaking success!"

Goh cleared his voice, reminding Ash and Serena that he and Chloe were still there.

"Right, Goh, Chloe, this is Clemont, the Lumiose City Gym Leader, and his little sister Bonnie. Serena and I traveled with them here in Kalos."

"Why didn't we visit them when we came here for that Battle Festival thing?"

"Oh we saw that, and Bonnie's still upset that you didn't say hi to us."

"Yeah, I am," Bonnie pouted, drawing snickers from the group.

"Nene!"

"Pika!"

Pikachu jumped off Ash's shoulder and spoke to the Pokemon that had appeared out of Bonnie's bag through an electric current.

"Dedenne missed Pikachu a lot, huh?"

"Sure did!"

Goh made a mental note about the Pokemon and followed the group through the urban supercenter.

"Ladies and Gentlemen! This is going to be an electrifying exhibition battle between two Champions and PWC Competitors!"

The booming voice of the announcer was muffled in the locker rooms. Goh, Chloe, Clemont, and Bonnie had left, leaving Serena and Ash alone.

The battle was one-on-one, Greninja versus Gardevoir. Pikachu had been upset that he wasn't battling but seemed content in Serena's arms.

"I've always found League announcers super annoying," Ash sighed.

"Can't blame you."

Ash handed the last four Pokeballs to Serena, who tucked them into her pocket and wrapped the Kantonian Trainer in a hug, "Good luck."

Ash grinned, "Thanks."

"This is an exhibition battle, meaning there will be no changes to PWC rankings. Champion Diantha is ranked 6 and Champion Ash is ranked 437, a large difference in rankings!"

The announcer continued droning as Diantha and Ash unclipped their Pokeballs.

"This will be a one-on-one match, the first side to lose a Pokemon will lose the match. No substitutions are allowed. Are you both ready?"

Ash and Diantha nodded.

"Alright-" the ref held his arm up and dropped it- "Battle begin!"

"Moonblast!"

"Water Shuriken!"

A/N: ok, done, please excuse me while I go die for a month and work on my two other stories
