Hi guys, here is Chapter Two. Please enjoy and don't forget to read and review. All reviews are good reviews.

3 months on and Lara Knight was walking back through the front door of Rescue Special Operations, better known as her family for the last 10 years.

"Lara, it's so great to see you. You're glowing, must of been that Gold Coast sun," Michelle LeTourneau greeted, as she came down the stairs and hugged the young woman. "They're out on a job at the moment but come upstairs and we will fill out this paperwork needed to get you started."

"Thank you Michelle. Yeah Gold Coast was great but nothing like home. Best part was getting some sun and a nice tan. How have you been?" Lara asked as they reached the top of the stairs and made their way towards Michelle's office.

"Yeah been good thank you. Jamie had his first day at kindy the other day. He didn't cry, but Ian and I did," Michelle said as they settled into the two armchairs in front of her desk. "Have you kept in contact with the team?"

"Oh my goodness, he is growing a little bit too quickly. I sort of kept in touch. More or less through Instagram." Lara said, as she filled out the forms Michelle passed her.

"I can say that Dean has been fairly lost with you by his side these last three months. He doesn't go out with the boys much anymore," she said, as she signed off on the paperwork whilst watching Lara for her reaction.

In the time that Michelle and Lara had been in the office, the team had come back from their last job. Vince Marchello station/team manager noticed the door closed, Michelle and a long blonde haired woman in the office. Curiosity piqued, as usual, and Vince knew he had to see what was happening. He knocked eagerly on the office door.

"Come in Vince," Michelle called, she knew that he just couldn't help himself. Vince walked in and instantly recognised Lara.

"Lara! How have you been?" Vince exclaimed, pulling her out of her chair and hugging her tightly.

"I'm good Vince, but you're kinda crushing me," Lara gasped, as she quickly released her from his bone crushing hug.

"Sorry, I've missed you, actually the whole team has," he said, perching himself on the end of Michelle's desk. "Are you back for good?"

Absolutely, I'm not going anywhere. As long as you guys will have me back of course?" Lara asked, knowing that there will be mixed emotions from some but knowing that they would.

"Most definitely," he said, as the trio left the office and into the bullpen where the rest of the team awaited. "Everyone please welcome Lara back with open arms."

And they did. Heidi, Jordan, Lachie and Chase surrounded her in a massive group hug. Dean however did not, his wounds were still a little fresh from when she had left three months earlier.

Lara found her old desk, still behind Dean's and settled in. She placed a few personal belongings such as a team photo, a photo of her and Dean from the last Christmas party,

"Still have that photo?" Dean asked, breaking the silence of the office.

"Of course, it was the best Christmas I had in a long time," she said, as Vince cleared his throat and everyone fell silent and turned to look at him.

"Sorry to interrupt the reunion, but I have the new pairings. Lachie and Chase, Heidi and Jordan, Deano and Lara. Lara will go back to Rescue Portable 2, Jordan is 3, Chasie is 4, Heidi is 5 and Lach yours will be 6." Vince announced, before heading back to his own desk.

"I'm sure Vince will re-partner if you don't want to be partnered with me," Lara said hastily, not wanting to rock the boat between each other and make it even more awkward than it was.

"No, no. It's okay Lara. I want to be partnered with you," Dean said quickly, reassuring her.

Sure, it was going to take awhile for them to be comfortable around each other and to go back to the way everything used to be.

The day went by quick with no further jobs, Dean approached Lara, "Hey, did you want to go get a beer and pizza?"

"That sounds nice," She replied, packing up her desk for the day and shrugging on her jacket. They made their way downstairs and towards Dean's ute where they hopped in and were soon on their way to the usual spot.

"I know that pizza and beer isn't going to make up for the last three months, but it's a start," Dean said, taking a swig of his beer as they settled into their favourite booth.

"Dean, I'm the one that should be taking you for pizza and beer after the way I left that night. I am so sorry, I really am. I just needed to find myself," Lara explained, also taking a sip of her beer.

"It's okay, I understand. Besides, you kept your promise and you came back." Dean said as they waitress brought their pizza over.

Lara smiled taking a slice of pizza, "How have you been?"

"Keeping busy with work, what have you been doing these past few months?" Dean asked, watching Lara nibble at her slice, as he helped himself to his second piece.

"Went up to Queensland, visited my aunty and saw some old uni friends on the Goldie. Dad passed away about a month ago now. Otherwise just thinking about everything," Lara said, finishing her first slice and reaching for her second.

"I'm sorry about your Dad," he said with sadness resonating in his voice and eyes, she shrugged they never had a good relationship but she did miss him.

The rest of the night was spent drinking and talking, just generally getting to know each other again. Who knows where this may lead in the future.
