Hello, everyone! Welcome to my one-shot! So this idea has been in my head ever since I've watched Fairy Tail. And honestly, from what I can tell, I'm surprised no one else did it. Well, people usually do something like it though.
*Side note: takes place when everyone's a kid*
Anyway, enjoy!
One-shot: July 7, x778
The heat of the day was burning Gray's brain, he thought. Otherwise, why else would it less him to believe Natsu is not here?
The named pink-haired idiot would always be found at the guild, no matter if he's tired. He can and will. Take a few jobs, hang out with friends, enjoy his freaking five-course lunch- the normal things that Gray grew to love about his "rival".
But, Gray wouldn't be able to enjoy Natsu's daily routine if he isn't here.
It was infuriating, to say the least, as most of the guild -including him- was always bright and firey when he joined them. The only thing left of that was broken candles.
Master said something about it being the day his dragon disappeared. Though, Gray believes he's being an absolute hypocrite because while he preaches of the future, he himself is still in the past. Fucking hypocrite.
Gray observes the outroar of the guild when Master told them about the "special day". A few faces of horror, a tiny bit of grief, fury. Erza stomped her foot and demanded we try to get Natsu out. She had her sword out and managed to get as far as the foyer before Macao stopped her. She was furious, but she softened when she saw the solemn faces of her guildmates.
Gray locked eyes with her immediately and they shared a knowing look. Her eyes began to dampen and before long, her lips quivered. Gray felt his understanding and went in for a hug. It was times like these that reminded Gray how vulnerable the mighty Titania was.
He felt no tears but there was depression, as both wished the happy fire mage to be ok. Though, knowing him, it would be. Gray knew in his heart he was because it was Natsu, the happy-go-lucky person who exuberant love and kindness. Someone who was the embodiment of a summer campfire: hot, kept you warm despite the chill, and fiery.
Natsu, as bubbly as he is, does carry heavy burdens. Gray respects this.
He just hopes he'll get out of the past.
Ok, so, this one a literally wrote in one-shot. I just hope it came out ok.
Hope you all enjoyed it! Have a good day/night, please review, and I'll see you later!
