Later the same day

Rachel can't stop thinking about what happened in the choir room. Quinn was so close to her, and possibly have been a little flirty. Also, the staring. Even with being totally concentrated at singing, Rachel can totally feel the blonde looking at her.

"But what does that mean? Does Quinn like me? So if she does, what do I think? Is Quinn even gay? No! It's impossible." Rachel has so many questions for herself, and she can't answer any of them. "Maybe I'll find out after school today." These thoughts has filled her mind all day, and now with the comfort of she'll still be seeing Quinn tonight finally makes her calm down and actually focus on class.

Finally, the bell rings. This is the last class, and there's no glee today. Which means she'll have to meet up with Quinn now. She walks out of the classroom carelessly, planning to go to her locker, and then go look for Quinn after. She bumps into someone right away, probably because she's still deep in her thoughts. She yelps, and hears a familiar soft chuckle. Rachel raises her gaze from the ground to the person she accidentally crashed into. She raises her gaze from the ground t-to to Quinn? "What is Quinn doing here?"

"Are you alright, Rach?"

"Rach? Did Quinn just call me Rach?" Not only did Quinn use her real name instead of some insult, but she used a nickname!

"Rach? Rach. Rach!" Rachel snaps out of her thoughts after the third time Quinn shouts her name.

"What's wrong?" Quinn asks, tone worried.

"Um... You...called me Rach." Rachel feels stupid admitting this. There's nothing wrong about Quinn calling her Rach, but she just feels... something that she can't quite describe.

Quinn smirks to that answer. "What else would I call you? Or do you prefer something like sweetheart, honey or maybe babe more." Rachel blushes immediately. She should've warned herself when she saw that smirk on Quinn's face, but it's too late now. Her mind is already filled with the thought of Quinn calling her babe, and holding her hand, walking her to class, and all the things a good boyfriend does. "I'm still not in love with her!"

She looks to Quinn again, finding that smirk hasn't faded, clearly because she's blushing.

"Huh! Guess you like the last one the most, don't you babe?"

"Anyways, why are you here?" Rachel changes the subject abruptly.

"Well, Coach Sylvester wanted to talk to me, so she called me out of my class. After our little chat, it was almost the end of class, so I didn't bother going back. Instead, I decided to come and wait for you." At least Quinn lets her get away with changing the subject. "You're going to your locker, right? I'll walk with you."

Rachel nods, and they start walking. "So, what did Sue want from you?" Rachel asks, trying the best not to read too much into Quinn's gesture of waiting for her after class.

"She asked me if I was interested in rejoining the Cheerios."

"Oh... Are you?"

"I'm not quite sure, but it's an one-time offer, and I do like to be on the top."

Rachel just nods, not knowing what to say. She's kind of sad, and she shouldn't be. She just started talking to the blonde this morning, so whatever decision Quinn makes shouldn't bother her.

"Do you think I should?"

"Does it matter what I think?" Rachel says, and it comes out more bitter than sad.

Quinn winces at the tone of Rachel's tone. "Rach, I know I haven't been nice to you, but I'm trying to be your friend, so if you don't want me to, I won't."

"Well then don't, if you really care about me as much as you say you do." Rachel says, can't quite figure out where all that anger came from.

Quinn tilts her head, slightly nods, and slowly says, "Ready to go?"

"Yeah."

They walk to Rachel's house in awkward silence. When they arrive, Rachel unlocks the door, and sighs internally with relief at the sight of both of her dads not being home.

"We'll be in my room, if that's okay with you. Do you want something to eat or drink?"

"Sure. And no thanks."

They head up to Rachel's room, and dive into the math text book right away. Quinn's really patient, and she explains every question thoroughly, but Rachel can still feel that the ex-cheerleader is trying to get everything done as fast as she can.

"Anymore questions?"

"No."

"Great! I'll get going then." Quinn stands up from the chair she was sitting in, and reaches for her bag on the floor.

"Wait." Rachel whispers, grabbing Quinn by her wrist. Quinn stops her action. Rachel leads them to her bed, and Quinn sits down on the edge of it, while Rachel remains standing.

"Look, I'm really sorry about what happened earlier. I shouldn't have been upset about you, let alone trying to stop you from doing what you enjoy. It's just-I really think we have a chance of being friends, and that wouldn't happen with you being in the Cheerios. However, this doesn't give me the right to interfere your decisions. So, you should do whatever you, and I won't annoy you anyway. Although, I really enjoy the time we spent together today, and I would really want to be your friend."

Quinn looks at the singer amused, and eventually starts laughing. She tugs at Rachel's arm, making the smaller girl lose her balance, and fall right into the blonde's embrace. Rachel has so many questions, but with those strong and warm arms wrapped around her whole body, she can't really think of anything other than how good it feels.

"You know," Quinn breaks the silence first, but doesn't let go of the brunette, "I can still be friends with you even if I'm a cheerleader, but since you obviously don't like this idea, I'll decline the offer."

"Really? Why are you willing to do this though?"

"You probably won't believe it, but I'm willing to do anything that can make you happy."

Rachel stays silent because her mind is currently too busy trying to stop herself from reading too much into the sentence Quinn just said to think of a response.

Quinn breaks their way-too-long-to-not-be-awkward-but-actually-isn't-awkward hug eventually. Just then, they hear the front door open, and Rachel's dads calls out," Dinner will be ready in about 15 minutes!"

"Okay, thanks daddy!"

"Are you going to stay for dinner?" Rachel turns around to ask.

"No, I should be leaving now."

"I'll drive you. My dads are home, which means I can use the car."

"Thanks."

On the car

"I don't know where your house is. Your going to have to tell me where to go."

"Oh. Umm. Do you know how to get to Brittany's house?

"Yes?"

"Yeah, then go there. I'm living with her for now."

"Why? Did your parents kick you out again?" Rachel tries to joke a little, but realizes that she has joked about the wrong thing when the blonde answers.

"Actually, they did."

"Oh. I'm sorry. May I ask why?"

"Because it's sinful to be gay."

"And, you're gay?"

"Yeah."
