Chapter 1
Kat watched as Abigail Cameron walked away and smiled at the thought of a new (and should we mention different) school to go to.
Kat sighed as she looked back down at the card.
A new school, Kat thought, What would happen to my family if I wasn't here for everyone?
Kat shivered, not because it was cold, but because it was a scary thought. Kat didn't even want to know the answer to her question anymore.
And, besides, Hale didn't react well the last time I left for a boarding school, Kat thought.
Kat suddenly wanted to be wrapped up in Hale's arms and not let go of him.
Kat looked up again and saw Hale talking to Macey's parents, with Macey beside him.
Hale looked over at Kat and smiled wider then he was before when he was talking to the McHenry's.
Kat smiled back and then bobbed her head to the side, signaling him to know that she was going.
Hale nodded, before resuming his conversation back to the McHenry's.
Kat turned her back away and walked out of the building.
Kat got out of the limo and smiled at Marcus.
"Thanks for driving me home, Marcus." Kat said, holding her suitcase that was supposed to be with her in Rome by now.
"Of course, Miss. Bishop." Marcus said.
Kat looked at the brownstone house and smiled before turning back around to Marcus.
"Marcus, can you please drive back to get Hale?" Kat asked him.
"Of course, I'll see you later tonight." Marcus said.
Kat nodded, before watching the limo drive away.
Kat sighed before walking up the brownstone houses front porch steps.
Eddie wasn't there today because he was stealing something in Taiwan with Kat's father, Bobby Bishop. They were going to be gone for about 3 more days. So, Kat had to pickpocket herself into Eddie's house.
Kat cursed herself when she couldn't open the door. But when she finally pickpocketed into her Uncle Eddie's house she gave out a sigh of relief.
Kat walked into the house and walked into the living room. Kat sat down on the couch.
Kat was exhausted, but she wasn't going to go to sleep until Hale got back to the house.
Kat listened to the ticking of the clock, while looking at it (even though she knew the timing perfectly, as it is perfectly embedded into her head).
Kat was starting to fall asleep when she heard the front door open. Kat opened her eyes and looked up to see Hale walking in with an apologetic look on his face, with Marcus right behind him, looking exhausted.
Hale was wearing a white t-shirt, black pants, black tennis shoes, and he had a black leather jacket on with his sandy brown hair in waves.
Hale turned to Marcus and told him to go upstairs into the guest room and go to sleep. Marcus surprisingly didn't argue and walked up the stairs to the guest room.
Kat started getting up, to reach Hale.
"I am so sorry." Hale whispered.
Kat didn't know if he meant he was sorry for coming back home so late, or if he was saying sorry because he had woke her up.
Hale's strong arms found Kat's small waist and hugged her as Kat buried her head into his neck, smelling his scent, he smelled like leather with a tint of cinnamon, may be a weird combo, but Kat thought it made him smell sexy and even more masculine.
"The McHenry's wouldn't let me go, but, thankfully, Macey finally stopped them after 30 minutes—of what I would call, self torture—and I got here as quick as possible." Hale said, answering with her first thought, he was sorry for being late.
Cute, Kat thought. He's saying sorry for being late, and he's being a gentleman by giving me a full reason.
Kat suddenly thought he was ten times sexier.
"It's okay, Hale, I figured that out already." Kat said in a tired voice.
"Did I wake you?" Hale asked, sitting down on the couch with his arms around her.
He's also saying sorry for waking me up, Kat thought. Could he be more perfect?
"Yeah, you did. But, I don't mind it. Besides, your worth waking up for." Kat said, ignoring how cheesy that must have sounded.
"Do you want to go back to sleep?" Hale asked her.
"Yeah, I do, and, now I'll be able to sleep even better with you here." Kat said, smiling.
Hale looked into her blue eyes and smiled back before kissing her.
Kat brought her hands up to his face, kissing him back.
The kissing started to get hotter.
As they started to lose themselves in each other, they heard someone clear their throat behind them.
Kat and Hale stopped kissing, and looked up to see Uncle Eddie, and Bobby.
Hale's eyes widened as Bobby glared at him.
"H-hi." Kat said, frozen.
"What's going on here?" Bobby asked, pointing to Kat and Hale.
Hale had found his way on top of Kat, while his hand had snaked up her shirt, with his other hand holding himself up so he wasn't crushing her. Kat had her legs wrapped around Hale's waist, and her hands were in his hair.
"Umm, we were talking." Kat said, pushing Hale off her.
Technically, I'm not lying, Kat thought, We were talking, it just... ended up into kissing.
"Really. That's what you call that?" Bobby said.
Kat smiled and brought her hand up to her plump lips.
"Really, we were talking." Hale said.
The couple then stood up.
"What are you doing here, any way? I thought you were both in Taiwan?" Kat asked, changing the topic away from her sex life.
"We were in Taiwan, but it was such an easy steal that we came home early. When we landed, we heard something interesting on the news. Would you care to explain what happened?" Eddie asked, talking for the first time.
Kat and Hale looked at each other, knowing what they were talking about.
"Hale, I know you were at the party, and that means Kat was too. So, why don't you tell us what happened?" Bobby asked, when the couple didn't reply.
Kat sighed and led them into the kitchen where Uncle Eddie started making tea, bread, and soup.
Kat and Hale told them what happened with Macey, and Agent Cameron.
"Wow, so you worked with the CIA?" Bobby asked.
"Yep, pretty much." Kat nodded as she poured herself some more tea.
"And they didn't care that we are con-artists?" Eddie asked.
"No." Kat said.
"They didn't need to because Kat finished the mission quickly," Hale said. "Macey told me that Kat delivers quickly."
Hale gave Kat a sideways glance before drinking some of his own tea.
"Really, and what did you say to that?" Kat asked, turning her whole attention to Hale.
"I told her that you always do." Hale said, smirking.
Kat smiled widely.
"Good answer." Kat said.
"So, what about the school Macey McHenry goes to?" Bobby asks.
"Oh, yeah, she was talking about how her school is amazing and she has these irregular classes." Hale said.
"My bet is that it's a spy school." Eddie said.
"Really?" Hale asked.
"Well, it's actually pretty obvious," Eddie said. "Don't you think? How else is Macey McHenry supposed to know how to do things that CIA agents do?"
Hale nodded.
"You know, that actually makes since." Hale said.
Kat suddenly knew what Agent Cameron was asking her, she wants Kat to become a spy!
She took a breath and started pulling the card that Agent Cameron gave her, with shaky hands.
"It makes so much more sense now." Kat said to herself out loud, looking down at the card.
"What is that?" Hale asked.
"It's an invitation." Kat said.
Hale looked at the card and his eyes widened.
"That agent invited you to The Gallagher Academy?" Hale asked.
Kat bit her bottom lip, before nodding.
"Can I see that?" Bobby asked.
"Sure." Kat said, handing the card paper to him.
"What was the agents name?" Bobby asked.
"I think her name was Cameron?" Kat says looking over at Hale.
"First? Or last?" Eddie asked.
"Probably was her last name." Hale replied.
"Why? Do you know her?" Kat asked, when she noticed Eddie, and Bobby share a look.
Bobby and Eddie turn back to Kat.
"Let's just say I've had history with Agent Cameron." Bobby told her.
Kat's eyes widened.
"Ohh..." Kat trailed off.
"So, Kat, are you going to enroll into this, Gallagher Academy?" Eddie asked.
Kat sighed.
"I'm not sure." Kat admitted, looking down into her tea so she didn't have to look at their expressions.
"Well, whatever you choose will be the right choice, I know it." Eddie said.
Kat looked at him and smiled.
"Thanks, Uncle Eddie." Kat said.
Kat then stood up and did something unexpected, she hugged him.
Eddie hugged her back instantly.
"Okay, I think it's time for you kids to go to bed." Eddie said, looking over at Hale.
Hale nodded.
Eddie ended the hug and looked down at Kat.
Kat yawned stretching her arms out and walked back to Hale.
"Yeah, we can sleep a little bit before going to Rome, okay Kat?" Hale asked.
Kat nodded, suddenly feeling drained.
"Goodnight, kiddo." Bobby said.
"Goodnight, Dad." Kat said, squeezing his hand before walking out of the room.
Kat walked up the stairs with her suitcase and went to her room.
As Kat started to get comfortable someone walked into her room. Even though she couldn't see him she knew exactly who it was.
"Hi, Hale." Kat whispered.
"Hi, can I sleep in here?" Hale asked.
"Of course." Kat said.
Hale laid down on the bed and wrapped his arms around her.
"Goodnight, Kitty Kat." Hale whispered.
"Goodnight, Hale." Kat said.
Kat got comfortable in his arms, and slowly, she started to drift to sleep.
